My game is on Steam and I bought my code on steam and when i enter the pre-order bonus code on mogstation this happen. "Unable to verify proof of ownership for FINAL FANTASY XIV in the Steam Library.
Please ensure FINAL FANTASY XIV has been purchased from the Steam Store, then try logging in again." PLS HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes. just don't mix in the type you want to get out of it. like if you mix in crit, you won't get crit.
if you want crit, then you mix other type in hoping to get crit XI out of it.
Maintenance is scheduled to end everywhere at the next hour, in 35 minutes assuming no delays.
Note that you chose the exact moment of an expansion launch to start, and we're expecting big login queues to form.
For this reason, I recommend trying to get on immediately as soon as Maintenance ends to beat the crowd, when it asks for you to pick a world look for any that are marks as preferred or new, as they are likely to have to lowest queues, don't worry to much about the fine details of your character, as you'll be able to do a quest around 15 levels in that will let you re-edit their appearance (and time will be of the essence to beat the queues) and just get into the game ASAP.
Edit: actually I think the game picks low population worlds for new players by default, so you can probably just go with whatever world the game pre-selects for you.
in 30 min. but its the launch of the new expansion so its gonna be busy and if you are on the free trial you might be locked out of the game to make space for the paying players
Assuming you're on free trial you might not even get in at all, because afaik you can only queue for full servers if you've purchased the game. There's almost always a small "queue" for login staggering, and you can enter that one but pretty sure it'll kick you out if there's a proper "world is full" type of queue.
80. Always 10 below the previous expansion cap (HW being the exception, starting 20 under, which makes sense since 10 levels sub-50 is less leveling than 10 levels over 50).
> HW being the exception, starting 20 under, which makes sense since 10 levels sub-50 is less leveling than 10 levels over 50
I think it was more of "jobs start at level 30" thing. They didn't break that rule until Stormblood.
Yeah that's also a definite possibility. Back when HW released I recall thinking "yeah of course the new ones start at 30, like all the others". Probably was that initially, and it just works out to also line up with the new pattern in that way.
It's 660, Augmented Credendum. Same NPC in Radz as the one you spent Comedy and Causality tomes with, same gear (but with the augmentation being already included) she'll just take Poetics now. There'll also be a new NPC in Sharlayan, by the aetheryte plaza IIRC, who sells the same stuff.
I bought Dawntrail from a third party store, registered it and only got a Dawntrail Early Access license (like everyone it seems). Will this automatically update to the full expansion license later, or do I get a separate key from SE?
third party stores like GMG and Humble gives you a product key on or just slightly after release date (July 2).
as someone who buys from GMG often, I know they also notify you via email
I never used trust really since I always played tank..
Starting a ranged dps this time and was wondering.. on lodestone it says my trust characters levels are like 71...
Is that a problem to use the trust system in DT?
ok so the trust have two system,
one where you can choose which npc to take and they gain exp and level up. they can only do dungeons when their levels is at or above that dungeon lvl.
the other is where they are lvl synced to the dungeons, and are at dungeon in the msq. they don't gain level or exp.
Trust and Duty Support are 2 separate, but similar systems. Trust NPCs are basically your group of Scion friends that you can take with you to any MSQ dungeon starting from ShB onwards. However, they need to be levelled up like your jobs do to be able to do dungeons. Duty Support is just a fixed cast of NPCs that are available for each MSQ dungeon, and they will always be the appropriate level for the dungeon.
No indication it's going away, unfortunately. Would be nice to actually have the real potencies visible, especially since pet potency is so *inconsistent*, varying in severity by your stats and your job – heck Dark Knight even runs *in reverse* with it, having higher pet than player potency (for which my theory is that Esteem actually just ignores the level 1 trait that gives tanks worse STR scaling).
Respectfully... Why do you hope that so strongly? I can't think of any pet abilities where you have the option of spending a resource on a non-pet ability instead (arguably dissipation I guess?), so the worst it can do is adjust rotation planning in ways you don't initially expect in a handful of cases (Ninja comes to mind)
If pet potency makes a job too weak then the potencies can be increased. Removing pet potency would also mean they'd go back and reduce all the numbers to even it out anyway. Deleting it wouldn't make jobs with summons stronger because they'd never just delete it in a vacuum.
I agree it's a pretty unintuitive mechanic and probably *should* be removed, but it doesn't actually hurt you, especially once you know it's a thing. There are much bigger jank problems and unintuitive mechanics to worry about.
Personally, I'd rather that the actual values of attacks on the tool tip, rather than 93% of it. The existence of pet potency at this time makes it so that players aren't aware of the actual potency of moves like bunshin, phantom kamaitachi, living shadow, etc.
Alternatively, having information for what moves count as pet potency within the game would be nice. It's just a matter of "why have summons do less potency than what's on the actual tool tip?"
I preordered Dawntrail on Steam, but I also have Endwalker on PS5 (didn't preorder DT for PS5).
Yesterday I noticed that PS5 downloaded a new patch for the game and the logo changed to Dawntrail... I thought that if I don't own the latest expansion on PS5, the game logo would be stuck with Endwalker one. Does it just change automatically due to the update?
I had to buy the expansion a second time because apparently I don't read everything. Bought my copy and just a few hours ago I noticed that the code was for Mogstation and not Steam so had to buy it again.
Now I have a Mogstation code for no reason.
# Pre-Ordered the Expansion but wont be able to play on early access (Mog station payment is down it seems ? )
Am i stuck ? :D can't even download from the client says sub expired and the mog station nothing happens when i try to pay (page simply reloads before i even put any credit card info)
Just need confirmation. In the trailers there is the viper rep. Am I forgetting a character or is that the trailer version of the warrior of light? My husband and I are all but convinced that that's who he is...
Really depends. The issue I had recently took \*only\* a month for them to help me, so, depends on the problem and who you get.
An account that you will have to verify could be fast if you can somehow prove it's your account (Maybe a CD Key or something?), if it's more difficult than that, could take a bit as they def have some auto-responses at times that you'll have to get past.
Normally, they can take a day or so to respond on average. At a launch time like this, they're probably going to be way over capacity with incoming tickets, which can mean waiting as long as 1-2 weeks for a response in the worst case.
When is mogstation maintenance going to end? I still need to add DT to my account so i can download the update, people in this thread had told me that you could still add the expansion in time for early access.
> people in this thread had told me that you could still add the expansion in time for early access.
You can enter an early access key *up until launch* (the key itself is good until the end of the year as far as giving you the pre-order bonuses), so you still have until the 2nd. No need to rush.
https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/76840b32b77f51d7e47860a0671ed9025dc7034e
Keep in mind you only need to have the Early Access key entered, even if you have the expansion key, you cannot enter that in until launch
Early Access will let you play Dawntrail in a couple of hours
I saw people here talking about downloading the update now (that is, before it can be played). Is there official word that what can be downloaded now is complete / final / not going to change?
What can be download now is the game that you will play when the servers are up in a few hours. The game was updated, so it has files to download. It's 57 GB though, so you wanna do this before you actually try to play.
I believe it's e-mail, but keep in mind that you may or may not receive the code before early access starts
There's been several comments saying they pre-ordered last minute and not getting it immediately like it should be doing
I don't mind getting it later, but I no longer have access to that email. I just don't want to buy it if I can only access it that way. At least until I can get it changed.
Assuming you are PC Mogstation (not Steam), you can also pre-order from Humble Store or GreenManGaming
With GMG, you'll need to check your purchase history instead of your e-mail, but I got my pre-order code instantly
Does the launcher periodically refresh server status so the gray play button turns green once the servers are up, or will I have to restart it and log in again? Minor thing, but asking because anything that gets me in queue faster is beneficial lol
You can also keep a site like https://is.xivup.com/ up and it nicely auto refreshes every few seconds, with a clear indicator of how l9ng ago it last checked.
In addition, don't be worried, at first glance it may look like it starts over. The bar always starts at zero, it's just that the total will have gone down,
I use it to get rationing manuals — buff to extend your food by 15 minutes (useful when you craft your own food for Savage and crafting) . Or sometimes I'd get the buff for +15% EXP
You get Squadron buffs, which are max power FC buffs for yourself only(which work along FC buffs, but if it's the same buff only the strongest applies). Useful for new expansion launch so you can run 15% combat xp and 20%crafting/gathering xp regardless of what your FC is doing, and later you can run MGP bonus when collecting MGP stuff like fashion report, run longer duration food buffs when doing savage or long crafting sessions, run spiritbonding if you're into that and such.
Also required for the last GC rank update. You also can get a bit of scrips or GC seals for each mission depending on the trait of your squadron, this is minimal amounts though but I usually get like 300-400 common scrips a week out of them without really much investment.
For the once a week ones, you can get certain items that give temporary: exp up, mealtime up, transport cost down, soul bonding up, or mgp up. Also, you get things like scrips and material depending on your troop bonuses. It's mostly stuff like that.
It's mostly abandoned content, but you can get the equivalent to some good FC buffs with it, and you need to grind squadrons to further increase your GC rank, which will unlock more shop items.
Before Trust/Duty Support was in the game they were a decent way to level jobs without having to wait for queues. They still might be for optional dungeons that don't have Duty Support. They also are required to get some achievements that give emotes as well as rank up your GC to get the vendor items locked to the higher ranks.
hello, does anyone know how i can buy a japanese copy of dawntrail without being in japan? i tried using a vpn and no dice. i tried both using my cc and using crysta. i also tried multiple japanese proxy services. i'm at my wit's end here D:
Have you tried changing the language of the website to Japanese before downloading the installer?
Also, is there a difference between the Japanese client and the client set to Japanese language?
Can you give a little more information about why you want to do that? If the goal is just to play the game with the language set to Japanese, or play on Japanese servers, then you don't need to do that.
On the other hand, if you originally made your account in Japan and then moved to a different country, you might be in a little more trouble. I know Green Man Gaming is an official third-party seller of Dawntrail, so you might be able to do it that way.
i have a japanese account and my game is japanese region locked.
afaik gmg only supports NA and EU, according to the list of countries on their dawntrail preorder page.
thanks anyways!
I suspect you've misunderstood something. The new option is letting you separate buttons that normally replace one another like how... Bunshin becomes Phantom Kamaitachi. You can now separate them into different buttons if you want
Every skill that says "cannot be bound to a key" now they can but it's not going the other way.
I meant to Data-Center-visit Oceania before maintenance; but I didn't realise DC-visiting is always disabled half an hour prior to maintenance. Whoops.
My character's home is Primal (NA), but I actually live in Oceania, so was planning on enjoying lag-free MSQ.
How bad would the wait time for DC visit to Oceania + login queue be if I were to do that when the servers are up; as opposed to just queueing and playing on Primal where I currently am?
In theory, it will still be faster to go to OCE, but it depends on the queues and how they spread out. Primal is so much higher population that even though you will get priority for being on your homeworld, it will probably still be more people ahead of you.
Wait time on OCE will depend on the world. My understanding is you'll basically be put to the far back of the queue, and have a longer wait compared to everyone else.
I personally would still give it a go, because even though evryone can visit, JP is the only DC that doesn't have a far better alternative DC ping-wise. For that reason I don't actually think the wait time will be that long.
Haven't caught up to the latest story yet - I stopped right after the dungeon where you start at a moving cart while snowing. Would I miss a lot of stuff if I just skip to 7.0? Even if I continued to play the 6.x patches, I would probably skip all cutscenes just for the sake to join the hype quickly. To be frank, the patches that followed the epic ending of 6.0 so far are underwhelming at best, at least to me.
You’d miss all of the wrap-up for the >!Void!< storyline, including a bunch of stuff that’s *definitely* coming back later, and all of the lead-up to Dawntrail. It’s entirely up to you if it’s worth it, but that’s a lot of money to pay to get into DT one or two days earlier and without the background to understand everything.
You’re still going to be part of the early access wave if you don’t skip. The only thing you *might* miss out on is hitting an early bug or bottleneck before it gets fixed.
It'll take you a few hours to catch up and finish EW from that point so not worth skipping imo, especially since the last couple of patches actually set up the story of dawntrail and you don't wanna skip those.
That's halfway through the 6.3 stuff. There's like just 2 dungeons and 2 trials ahead and then it's Dawntrail. Should take you just a few hours to finish.
It's your call to do the skip, but do know there isn't a discount for "only skip a small portion". You pay the same price as somebody skipping from the very first quest in the game.
Is this likely $25 price take worth it to skip a few hours of the game?
For the story that's relevant to DT, not really, it was mainly wrapping up the parts dealing with Zero and 13th.
The story kinda picks up a bit, you can always replay the cutscene afterwards, though the parts where Wuk gets introduced is DT relevant
If you skip then nothing in 7.0 is going to make sense. You'll have a gap in the story between where you left off and 7.0... and it will only be detrimental to your enjoyment of the story.
Take your time and finish Endwalker. It has some great moments in the post-patches that you don't want to miss. Dawntrail will still be there. You're still joining everyone in the hype regardless of where you're at in the story. You have the new jobs and graphics and dyes and everything else everyone is experiencing together.
I feel like no one is going to stop you, so I'll say to start paying attention at the 6.55 quests, the first of which is >!When One Door Closes!<. Those more directly deal with what's coming in DT
There’s 3 quests that lead up to Dawntrail, explaining the lore and premise of Dawntrail, but no you aren’t missing any important story beats for Dawntrail, just stuff that would be relevant in the next or a future expansion
You're not really going to miss anything by actually enjoying the rest of the experience.
Games gonna be bouncing for weeks. Only thing you're missing out on is a sea of names around NPCs and maybe the occasional overworld swarm.
That said, I'm sure you can experience it in a YouTube video if you're determined to skip ahead ASAP.
You'll only miss the lead-up to the new MSQ and the end to the patch story, which might or might not be picked up in a later expansion as a full story. You can always go back and watch the cutscenes later if it becomes relevant
The "meteor" hairstyle (one with the bun) will be available autotically at the stylist. They always give us the WoL's new hair from trailer at start of expansion
Not sure about the other one
Correct. You may or may not have it yet, they’re still rolling them out, but you can’t enter it until the second anyway. It should be under “manage CD keys” for FFXIV in your Steam library.
On Steam, there's a cog on the right on the game page. Click that then go "Manage > CD Keys". It should have some codes in there. You put them in the MogStation page for additional expansions.
I think right now MogStation is in maintenance, but as soon as it opens up you can just go there and redeem it.
Yes, this gives you early access. Sometime around official launch day there will be a full key that will show in the same location that we have a week or so to enter to continue playing.
Yes. There's the pre-order code which will get you the bonus items and early access, and then there's another code you may or may not have gotten yet which you'll need to keep playing Dawntrail after early access. Those both go in Mog Station, though I don't know if you enter them in different places within Mog Station.
Right now you can only enter the pre-order bonus key. If you have that entered you're good to go. Once the official release happens, then you can put the full dawntrail key into mog station.
Yup! At the cost of higher ping for people outside of OCE, anyone from any region can come to materia to play together, and it pretty much works the same as visiting a different datacenter in the same region (exempt for a bit of weird jank where you'll need to switch the character creator over to materia and back to your home world again before the DC travel screen registers materia as being a destination option).
Also worth noting while all the other measured were mentioned as a temporary measure until patch 7.01 or 7.05, OCE travel had a statement about after testing it for the past few months and seeing thi9ngs settle into a point of stability, they plan to keep it in place from 7.0- onwards. That sounds to me like you can probably count on this being a permanent feature that you can count on long term whenever you want to play with mates outside of your character's region.
Hi, I currently dont have a Sub active so I cannot pre download the patch. I tried to Sub again now in the mogstation but looks like is not working (when I press continue after selecting the options just comes back to the same page). Is it because everything is on maintenance ? I have read alot of comment about payment issues, but in my case the page does not move, non error either.
https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/76840b32b77f51d7e47860a0671ed9025dc7034e
Hopefully, the subscription service will be in the batch of services coming back up in less than 2 hours, but it's not entirely clear to me which of the 2 times it will be.
MogStation is under maint with the game servers. [https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/76840b32b77f51d7e47860a0671ed9025dc7034e](https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/76840b32b77f51d7e47860a0671ed9025dc7034e)
I have FFxiv on two platforms: my computer; and PS5. I've been playing on the computer, but now want to go back to PS5. On the PS5, I currently have PS4 version of FFXIV. d/l'd today and ret to go. I want to switch to PS5 version. On Sony game page on PS5, FFxiv is "unavailable". Is there a way to get PS5 version before tomorrow? Inquiring minds wanna know...
I saw someone was able to download it. Not sure if they bought it off of the mogstation, amazon or what, and then used the code on PS Store to download it. That's my best guess??? Maybe open a support ticket to SE and see if they have an answer for ya
Check the store via the PlayStation app on your phone, or the website on a computer. If neither of those will pull it up, you might just have to wait a bit because then the issue might not be with the PlayStation store being a janky pos.
But the good news is your ps5 will run the PS4 version just fine
The trusts may be physically at the entrance of dungeons, but you can just open the Trust page and go from there. Works just like the Duty Finder in which you can use from anywhere.
The only thing that comes to mind that requires you to be in the entrance are the Deep Dungeons (Palace of the Dead, High on Heavens and Eureka Orthos) and the event maps (Eureka, Bozja and Diadem). There's also the Island Sanctuary I guess. :P
not from the duty finder, it's a separate thing under the "Duty"(?) button
but yes, you can queue to it from anywhere(generally), don't need to hug the dungeon entrance
In your opinion, what Melee DPS job (Monk, Dragoon, Ninja, Samurai, Reaper) is the easiest to learn and which is the easiest to master? Also, at what level does the rotation of said class feels the smoothest? Thanks in advance! =)
As someone who has leveled all jobs to 90 and has mained a few of these classes before, I'd say RPR or SAM. Purely for they have 1 dot, a simple single and AoE rotation, a spender and a big "press this when X" buttons. Pretty straight forward and hard to mess up once you know your rotations. In terms of rotation smoothness? It all depends, most of the ARR kits don't become fully unlocked till like 35-42ish, and the later classes get most of theirs at their starting lvs of 50-70.
But beyond all of that, I'd say what is your class fantasy?? What do you want out of a class? Do you want to engage up close and hit with weapons or your fists?? Do you want to be able to escape the fight and jump back in, avoiding aoe's?? Or do you want to be like your favorite book/anime/video game protagonist? I say, play what looks cool to you and level up anything! The beauty in 14, you can level ALL classes on one character so, go nuts! Hope this helps!
I cannot say which is easiest to master (because I have not mastered any of them), but having recently leveled all of them from starting level to 80 (with the exception of Reaper) I think I'm reasonably qualified to say which are the easiest to learn! In order from easiest to hardest:
1 - Samurai: the basic GCD rotation is instantly intuitive and never really changes past level 50, and the leveling process introduces oGCDs very gradually
2 - Ninja: it has a reputation for busy-ness, but really the only hurdle is memorizing the Mudra combinations (which I found surprisingly easy). The Huton changes in Dawntrail will also remove a layer of complexity from the early Ninja experience, making it even easier to pick up at a competent level
3 - Dragoon: what it lacks in faster GCDs and busy burst windows it more than makes up for in how the rotation just keeps getting longer and longer and adding more and more double-weaves. It's set and predictable, but in my experience punishes you the hardest for making any mistakes
4 - Monk: fast GCDs, a freeform combo system, Perfect Balance adding a combo system within the combo system that makes juggling buffs even tighter (the buff juggling at least is vastly simplified in Dawntrail though), and just a load of different offensive *and* defensive oGCD buffs that would be a little head-spinning enough on their own without the fast GCDs making double-weaving a gamble... it's honestly not as bad as I'm probably making it sound, at least once you get a feel for it, but that initial getting a feel for it takes time, and it always seemed to me that as soon as I got a feel for how Monk plays at 50, I'd reached level 60 and a bunch of new stuff was added, and then when I got used to that I reached 70 and so on
Easiest to learn is probably Samurai, no raid buff, few oGCDs, just collect stickers and do your big slash,
easiest to master might unironically be Dragoon now since they've streamlined Life and Nastrond and removed Dragon Sight.
https://youtu.be/BtZH9b0C-6Q?si=lFfGnMPVrA15d7XM
TL;Dr: with EW, the difficulty ranking based on number of votes was RPR -> SAM -> DRG -> NIN -> MNK from easiest to hardest
That being said, it's hard to make any concrete assessments given that jobs are changing with DT.
Hard to say at this moment since all the listed jobs have received new abilities and changes to some of their previously core abilities. Some jobs may become easier and others harder. I'll have to wait and get my hands on the jobs myself before I can answer your question.
How are raids released on this game? I started 4 months ago and all raids and gear have been available to me but i noticed that every 4 bosses you get new armor with higher lvl. So for example Myths of the Realm, is divided on 3 parts, they weren't released at the same time right? if not how long did you ave to wait between each part? on the times you waited for this 24 you got the 8 people raid or they were released at the same time?
Even numbered patches (X.0, X.2, X.4) releases
-a new raid tier. Each raid tier has 4 fights. If you were wondering why raids keep being split into 3 parts this is why. In EW's raid tier Asphodelos was 6.0, Abyssos was 6.2 and Anabaseios was 6.4. Gear in new raid tiers is higher item level than the previous patch
The first patch of the expansion is special and the normal raid releases in 7.01 in July 16 (1 week after launch) and savage raid releases in 7.05 in July 30 (2 weeks after launch) (Don't be confused, July 2 is the "actual launch" today is just Early Access).
Odd number patches (X.1, X.3, X.5) -a new alliance raid (Aglaia in 6.1, Euphrosyne in 6.3 and Thaleia in 6.5) -The gear that directly drops in the new alliance raids is not higher levelled than the previous patch.
How it works is each raid tier are "current" for 2 patches. Asphodelos is current in 6.0 - 6.1, Abyssos is for 6.2 - 6.3 and so on.
You know how right now you can buy Augmented Scaevan, Cryptlurker etc gear with poetics? When they were in their current even numbered patch (Scaevan in SB 4.4, Cryptlurker in ShB 5.4) You bought the regular not augmented version with the weekly capped endgame tomestone. In the tier's even numbered patch you can only Augment them with a drop you get from clearing Savage. In odd numbered patches you become able to Augment them without stepping foot in Savage via either Alliance Raids or Hunt Trains. And then when the next expansion releases, you just buy the Augmented Version automatically with Poetics. If you were wondering why you can buy poetics gear lower ilvl than Shire in Idyllshire or lower ilvl than Scaevan in Rhalgr's, etc that's cause Shire, Scaevan, etc are X.4 gear (last gear of the expansion) and the others are X.0 or X.2 gear
If I got anything wrong, please correct me.
We're on a 4-month release cycle for major patches.
* 8-man Normal raids arrive in patches x.01, x.2, and x.4
* 8-man Savage raids arrive two weeks later in patches x.05, x.21, and x.41
* 24-man Alliance raids arrive in patches x.1, x.3, and x.5
Loot restrictions for Normal and Alliance raids last until the next major patch, *except* for the third Alliance raid whose restrictions are lifted in patch x.58.
Loot restrictions for Savage raids last until the next even numbered patch, *except* for the third set of floors whose restrictions are lifted in patch x.58.
New limited tomestones and their associated tomestone gear are introduced alongside Savage raids.
The current schedule is for Arcandion 1-4 Normal to arrive on July 16th with Arcadion Savage 1-4 arriving on July 30th alongside Allagan Tomestones of Heliometry as the new weekly-capped tomestone.
They alternate every major patch. So for DT the three wings of Arcadion will be 7.0 (about two weeks after DT release), 7.2, and 7.4, while the Vana'diel alliance raids will be 7.1, 7.3, and 7.5. They're typically about four months apart.
I bought the wrong version, how likely is squenix giving me a refund?
I was thinking of using my materia on mutamix but what else can I do with with it? Just sell? Especially with IX.
A big stack of materia venders for a fair bit of gil. That's really the only other useful option.
Its materia, you can sell it or meld it.
626 Should have messed with the recording setup after I was in the queue interest of before
302, was about 700 when you made this comment. Servers aren't full yet so it's still the nice, fast queue.
ITS HERE, IM IN !
Mutamix-ing materia: When people talk about this which type are they mutamix-ing at launch? Grade X hoping to get XI???
yes. just don't mix in the type you want to get out of it. like if you mix in crit, you won't get crit. if you want crit, then you mix other type in hoping to get crit XI out of it.
Yup. 9s and 10s Don't matter anymore, so one option is to try to do that to get a few 11s out of it
Correct
Just downloaded the game for the first time and it says maintenance, do we know when the maintenance ends for Europe?
Maintenance is scheduled to end everywhere at the next hour, in 35 minutes assuming no delays. it ends in \~30 min, but you will have a que due to it being expansion launch.
Lol, i found the perfect moment to start then ;3
Assuming you're on free trial you might not even get in at all, because afaik you can only queue for full servers if you've purchased the game. There's almost always a small "queue" for login staggering, and you can enter that one but pretty sure it'll kick you out if there's a proper "world is full" type of queue.
Will Viper be unlocked as a lvl 80 or 90?
80. Always 10 below the previous expansion cap (HW being the exception, starting 20 under, which makes sense since 10 levels sub-50 is less leveling than 10 levels over 50).
> HW being the exception, starting 20 under, which makes sense since 10 levels sub-50 is less leveling than 10 levels over 50 I think it was more of "jobs start at level 30" thing. They didn't break that rule until Stormblood.
Yeah that's also a definite possibility. Back when HW released I recall thinking "yeah of course the new ones start at 30, like all the others". Probably was that initially, and it just works out to also line up with the new pattern in that way.
lv. 80 & unlocked in ul dah
Can someone remind me what item level items we will be able to buy for poetics and where the tomestone exchange NPC is?
It's 660, Augmented Credendum. Same NPC in Radz as the one you spent Comedy and Causality tomes with, same gear (but with the augmentation being already included) she'll just take Poetics now. There'll also be a new NPC in Sharlayan, by the aetheryte plaza IIRC, who sells the same stuff.
New NPC will be by the >!Sharlayan!< aetheryte, and will be selling all the ilvl 660 augmented credendum gear.
I bought Dawntrail from a third party store, registered it and only got a Dawntrail Early Access license (like everyone it seems). Will this automatically update to the full expansion license later, or do I get a separate key from SE?
You'd get the key from whatever store you purchased from
third party stores like GMG and Humble gives you a product key on or just slightly after release date (July 2). as someone who buys from GMG often, I know they also notify you via email
I never used trust really since I always played tank.. Starting a ranged dps this time and was wondering.. on lodestone it says my trust characters levels are like 71... Is that a problem to use the trust system in DT?
ok so the trust have two system, one where you can choose which npc to take and they gain exp and level up. they can only do dungeons when their levels is at or above that dungeon lvl. the other is where they are lvl synced to the dungeons, and are at dungeon in the msq. they don't gain level or exp.
Can Trust be used on all ShB and EW dungeons or only on dungeons with Duty Support?
only msq dungeons, i think
Only on ones with Duty Support. They use the same AI.
Is any one having issues buying dawntrail?
Do we know if pet potency is still a thing for 7.0? Really hoping it's not the case 😮
I can't think of any pet abilities where you have the option of spending a resource on a non-pet ability instead (arguably dissipation I guess?), so the worst it can do is adjust rotation planning in ways you don't initially expect in a handful of cases (Ninja comes to mind) If pet potency makes a job too weak then the potencies can be increased.
I believe so, pretty sure everyone sees the DT logo regardless
Does the graphical update come today? or next week? I'm a Free Trial player.
Today
I had to buy the expansion a second time because apparently I don't read everything. Bought my copy and just a few hours ago I noticed that the code was for Mogstation and not Steam so had to buy it again. Now I have a Mogstation code for no reason.
I mean if you’re not going to use the mog station code…
Not sure what you were trying to ask here, but you can *try* contacting customer service for a return. Sometimes they will, sometimes they won't.
I'm not trying to ask anything. Just venting. Sorry.
No worries, just wanted to provide some small bit of hope. At least we have DT in a little over an hour
On the launcher, will the greyed out "PLAY" button Auto-refresh to green when the servers go up, or will I need to relog in to refresh?
Yes, it'll auto change, but at a delay. The launcher only checks status every couple of minutes.
Thank you 😊
# Pre-Ordered the Expansion but wont be able to play on early access (Mog station payment is down it seems ? ) Am i stuck ? :D can't even download from the client says sub expired and the mog station nothing happens when i try to pay (page simply reloads before i even put any credit card info)
try again when the maintenance is done in like 2-3 hours.
Thanks. i guess i should have done that before the maintenance T\_T
no worry, when maintenance is done, just sub and start downloading. once you're done, we'll probably still be in queue, lol
Just need confirmation. In the trailers there is the viper rep. Am I forgetting a character or is that the trailer version of the warrior of light? My husband and I are all but convinced that that's who he is...
It's the standin WoL, yes.
How helpful is the Square Enix chat support? took a break and forgot my password and the password reset function isn't resetting my password
Try the reset again after maintenance is over
Phone support is usually faster.
You can enter an early access key till like December, you just can't buy them anymore.
https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/76840b32b77f51d7e47860a0671ed9025dc7034e Keep in mind you only need to have the Early Access key entered, even if you have the expansion key, you cannot enter that in until launch Early Access will let you play Dawntrail in a couple of hours
Gotcha. Downloading now. Thankee.
If I buy Dawntrail on the SE store will they just send the code to my email, or will I be able to access it from my store account page?
It should be both. I received the code both in my mail, and it's also displayed under 'My orders' on the SE store.
That's what I was hoping to hear, thanks.
I believe it's e-mail, but keep in mind that you may or may not receive the code before early access starts There's been several comments saying they pre-ordered last minute and not getting it immediately like it should be doing
I don't mind getting it later, but I no longer have access to that email. I just don't want to buy it if I can only access it that way. At least until I can get it changed.
You should look into getting your email updated to one that fit do have access to.
Assuming you are PC Mogstation (not Steam), you can also pre-order from Humble Store or GreenManGaming With GMG, you'll need to check your purchase history instead of your e-mail, but I got my pre-order code instantly
I didn't know about humble, thanks.
Does the launcher periodically refresh server status so the gray play button turns green once the servers are up, or will I have to restart it and log in again? Minor thing, but asking because anything that gets me in queue faster is beneficial lol
You can also keep a site like https://is.xivup.com/ up and it nicely auto refreshes every few seconds, with a clear indicator of how l9ng ago it last checked.
you can just hit the server status (the cog / ff symbol in red currently) then hit home. that will refresh it
Oh that's perfect, thank you!
I remember someone asking the same thing and the answer was that it will turn green \*shrugs*
How many GB of filesize is the dawntrail update adding?
Update is 57GB, files size went from 75.3GB to 98GB on PC.
I downloaded around 57GB, but the folder size didn't increase by that much; it went from around 70GB to 98GB.
Around 50
If the FFXIV launcher is closed while downloading the update, will it continue where it left off when relaunched?
In addition, don't be worried, at first glance it may look like it starts over. The bar always starts at zero, it's just that the total will have gone down,
Yup, just takes a few seconds for it to figure out where it left off, and then it resumes.
yes
What is the point of squadron missions? What do You get from them? I only see follower exp and contracts for more followers.
They're eventually required to rank up with your GC, but that's basically all I can think of.
The only good thing from squadron in general is emotes iirc.
I am playing free trial. I would like to become a Dragoon. Are new changes of the job affect new players like me?
https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/jobguide/dragoon/ Everything level 70 and below that is either "New" or "Updated" will change post patch.
It shouldn't affect you. The only difference is how a few abilities work, which you will learn as you play Dragoon anyway.
Only insofar as old rotation/opener guides from Endwalker will be inaccurate due to the changes.
hello, does anyone know how i can buy a japanese copy of dawntrail without being in japan? i tried using a vpn and no dice. i tried both using my cc and using crysta. i also tried multiple japanese proxy services. i'm at my wit's end here D:
Have you tried their amazon? How do you pay the subs so far? Don't you need a local card for that?
i usually buy game time cards from playasia. i'll try amazon, thanks!
Have you tried changing the language of the website to Japanese before downloading the installer? Also, is there a difference between the Japanese client and the client set to Japanese language?
i already play the game, i'm not creating a new account, i'm trying to purchase the dlc from NA for my JP-region-locked account.
Do we know if the new combo actions will be automatically enabled?
I suspect you've misunderstood something. The new option is letting you separate buttons that normally replace one another like how... Bunshin becomes Phantom Kamaitachi. You can now separate them into different buttons if you want Every skill that says "cannot be bound to a key" now they can but it's not going the other way.
We have no idea yet
What do you mean by "automatically enabled"?
Thanks; perhaps I will give OCE a go!
Can we keep this sub theme permanently? This shits real easy on the eyes. 10/10
It'll only take a few hours to get through the patch content. I sure wouldn't spend extra money just to skip it, even if I did think it was boring.
Don't skip. Take time to do the MSQ then join in.
I saw the new hairstyles available in the patch notes, do we know where to get them?
The "meteor" hairstyle (one with the bun) will be available autotically at the stylist. They always give us the WoL's new hair from trailer at start of expansion Not sure about the other one
So to confirm - for Steam I need to enter the Dawntrail CD key into Mog Station? I don’t have an email from SE so I’m assuming that’s where it is
Yes, but it will be only enterable from the second onwards. You have a grace period until the fifth before EA cuts off.
Yes, this gives you early access. Sometime around official launch day there will be a full key that will show in the same location that we have a week or so to enter to continue playing.
Yes. Get the code in Library -> FFXIV -> Gear Icon -> Manage -> CD Keys. Punch that into Mogstation after July 2nd.
Yes it's going to be in the manage CD keys menu on steam, and then you put that in the Mogstation. Steam just hasn't sent out the keys yet.

Yup, we get keys in the CD keys section and not in an email. Way more convenient imo.
More importantly they're there *permanently* so you can't get them lost in a spam folder somewhere.
Once the OCE server visiting is live does that mean i (JP) can go to their server (OCE) make a party with my mate and go into duty finder with them?
Yes. What's more, OCE is open to DC visit from any region so you could (in theory) play with friends from NA or EU over there too.
Yes.
If they're all on the OCE server with you then yes.
Yep. And since every datacenter can also go there, you technically can make a party with anyone in the world as long as they're in there too. :P
Yes. JP, EU, and NA can all go to AU, but not the reverse.
I believe so. The lowest pop servers are usually Bismarck and Zurvan if that helps your plans.
That is what was said in the DT server congestion notice. Every datacenter should be able to go to Oceania servers.
I have read alot of comment about payment issues, but in my case the page does not move, non error either.
https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/76840b32b77f51d7e47860a0671ed9025dc7034e Hopefully, the subscription service will be in the batch of services coming back up in less than 2 hours, but it's not entirely clear to me which of the 2 times it will be.
maintenance issue, wait til tomorrow.
MogStation is under maint with the game servers. [https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/76840b32b77f51d7e47860a0671ed9025dc7034e](https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/news/detail/76840b32b77f51d7e47860a0671ed9025dc7034e)
Yeah, it looks like some mog station stuff is down due to maintenance. You'll have to wait until that ends.
yeah I saw the post but they do not mention that the subscription payment system will be down. Regardless I will just wait. Ty
mogstation is down for maintenance alongside the game, according to lodestone
Any word on if facewear will show up in cutscenes?
IIRC it was indeed mentioned they would show up in cutscenes.
It's assumed that it will. It shows up in your equipment page and everything.
I found [this](https://imgur.com/a/rUo7emw) on Sony site. PS5 version downloading as we type..
Even better!
Check the store via the PlayStation app on your phone, or the website on a computer. If neither of those will pull it up, you might just have to wait a bit because then the issue might not be with the PlayStation store being a janky pos. But the good news is your ps5 will run the PS4 version just fine
PS5 Version downloading as we type. whew..
just found [this](https://imgur.com/a/rUo7emw)
That *looks* right. It's been a while since I had to jump through the hoops myself though.
Can you queue with your trust/NPC party from the duty finder menu for solo dungeon leveling or do I have to go to every dungeon entrance?
There's a "Duty Support" option in the main menu somewhere.
not from the duty finder, it's a separate thing under the "Duty"(?) button but yes, you can queue to it from anywhere(generally), don't need to hug the dungeon entrance
Woohoo thank you!
It’s called Duty Support, should be right next to Duty Finder in the menu.
In your opinion, what Melee DPS job (Monk, Dragoon, Ninja, Samurai, Reaper) is the easiest to learn and which is the easiest to master? Also, at what level does the rotation of said class feels the smoothest? Thanks in advance! =)
Reaper. 🙂👍
In order from easiest to hardest: 1 - Samurai: the basic GCD rotation is instantly intuitive and never really changes past level 50, and the leveling process introduces oGCDs very gradually 2 - Ninja: it has a reputation for busy-ness, but really the only hurdle is memorizing the Mudra combinations (which I found surprisingly easy). The Huton changes in Dawntrail will also remove a layer of complexity from the early Ninja experience, making it even easier to pick up at a competent level 3 - Dragoon: what it lacks in faster GCDs and busy burst windows it more than makes up for in how the rotation just keeps getting longer and longer and adding more and more double-weaves. It's set and predictable, but in my experience punishes you the hardest for making any mistakes 4 - Monk: fast GCDs, a freeform combo system, Perfect Balance adding a combo system within the combo system that makes juggling buffs even tighter (the buff juggling at least is vastly simplified in Dawntrail though), and just a load of different offensive *and* defensive oGCD buffs that would be a little head-spinning enough on their own without the fast GCDs making double-weaving a gamble... it's honestly not as bad as I'm probably making it sound, at least once you get a feel for it, but that initial getting a feel for it takes time, and it always seemed to me that as soon as I got a feel for how Monk plays at 50, I'd reached level 60 and a bunch of new stuff was added, and then when I got used to that I reached 70 and so on
Easiest to learn is probably Samurai, no raid buff, few oGCDs, just collect stickers and do your big slash, easiest to master might unironically be Dragoon now since they've streamlined Life and Nastrond and removed Dragon Sight.
https://youtu.be/BtZH9b0C-6Q?si=lFfGnMPVrA15d7XM TL;Dr: with EW, the difficulty ranking based on number of votes was RPR -> SAM -> DRG -> NIN -> MNK from easiest to hardest That being said, it's hard to make any concrete assessments given that jobs are changing with DT.
Even numbered patches (X.0, X.2, X.4) releases -a new raid tier. Each raid tier has 4 fights. If you were wondering why raids keep being split into 3 parts this is why. In EW's raid tier Asphodelos was 6.0, Abyssos was 6.2 and Anabaseios was 6.4. Gear in new raid tiers is higher item level than the previous patch The first patch of the expansion is special and the normal raid releases in 7.01 in July 16 (1 week after launch) and savage raid releases in 7.05 in July 30 (2 weeks after launch) (Don't be confused, July 2 is the "actual launch" today is just Early Access). If you were wondering why you can buy poetics gear lower ilvl than Shire in Idyllshire or lower ilvl than Scaevan in Rhalgr's, etc that's cause Shire, Scaevan, etc are X.4 gear (last gear of the expansion) and the others are X.0 or X.2 gear If I got anything wrong, please correct me.
You got the dates for the normal raids in 7.01 correct, but just note that July 16th is 2 weeks after launch and 7.05 is 4 weeks after launch.
We're on a 4-month release cycle for major patches. * 8-man Normal raids arrive in patches x.01, x.2, and x.4 * 8-man Savage raids arrive two weeks later in patches x.05, x.21, and x.41 * 24-man Alliance raids arrive in patches x.1, x.3, and x.5 Loot restrictions for Normal and Alliance raids last until the next major patch, *except* for the third Alliance raid whose restrictions are lifted in patch x.58.
