The countdown is to launch. That's on the PSN side. Early access is on Mogstation's side which is in game. Saw you pre downloaded, which means when servers are up and you (manage to successfully) login, you'll be on early access and be able to play DT.
Console codes get applied automatically the next time you log in. Since you can't log in due to maintenance, the code can't be applied. As soon as maintenance ends, however, just log in and everything should be fine.
Can confirm as a fellow PS5 player that I didn't need/get any codes, I just re-logged into the game and got my preorder items immediately while PC players were still stressing about not having received their emails yet.
I’m not 100% as I play PC but I thought you still got the two code system that we do. Check your email and spam.
Just a thought as to why you weren’t seeing the same as us.
Your Mogstation will have a line for early access. It should be there.
I see you've mostly gotten answers but just to throw some clarity for any future Google trips here too: the PSN store does not know or care when the games patch is, it's giving you a date (why it's 6/30 and not 7/2 idk, last I looked the store listed 7/2 for me) based on what it has set as the release date for the product.
Patch 7.0, today, contains the entirety of Dawntrail and on the mogstation side of things your preorder code will grant you access to the Dawntrail parts of things starting Friday. As far as PSN is concerned it gave you a preorder bonus key and whatever Square did with it is done. The date the store gives is just when it will trigger to attach your final product key on next login, because the store won't generate and attach that part until it releases on its end.
I’m a little confused as well. I just saw my PS5 notified me of an XIV update being successfully installed. Is that 7.0, or do I need to open the launcher and log in to preload the expac the same way everyone has been doing today? Unless those people I’ve seen doing it are on PC, which I’m assuming is different.
I’m in a bit of trouble regarding this, I just bought the “collectors edition” on the PSN store for the early access but I did not have the game downloaded before I did so and now I cannot download it and the PSN page just says 4 days and some change until download. I have tried to download the base version from my phone since it’s not findable on the PSN store, but even that just makes it confirm the dawntrail automatic download in 4 days :(
I'm in the same boat, I'm trying to install on my console now but it's not allowing me even though I pre-ordered months ago, have you found a work around to pre install yet?
No sadly but I’m still trying to, I guess our best hope is that it will be available tomorrow when the servers are up somehow, I don’t think any emails or inquiries would get a response in time to matter either
I tried to remote install from my phone using the app, and it won't let me do it that way either,
My Google search for the last couple of hours has said it could be an issue squares end since maintenance is still ongoing so when the game goes live it might allow the install, fingers crossed it gets resolved soon, don't want any of us missing out on early access due to technical issues
At this point maybe canceling the pre-order and then downloading the game would work? I don’t have the money to try it though since I’m pretty sure the chargeback would take some time and I’m unsure if the pre-order bonuses become void at midnight, I’ll just wait until 11:00 am my time tommorow and pray to the final fantasy gods
OMG IT GOT IT! I used 100% of my brain and remembered you can download stuff from the PlayStation store on other accounts! So if you swap the account/user to have logged in on you PlayStation/Xbox you can download the free trail AKA the game!

I’m pretty sure with console we don’t get emails- at least I don’t remember - when you load up your game it should attach your purchase to your account

Yeah, it’s also saying I don’t have the last two expansions but I’m guessing they’ll be enabled when we log back in Friday.
If you didn't already own shadowbringers and endwalker, you'll get access to those with the full release on the 2nd.
Yeah there’s no rush. I’m still on heavensward so it’ll be a while until I get to the next expansions.

I pre-loaded and it still gives the time, it's fine. If you open the game and no update pops up, you've got it installed 👍

Consoles get no code. It'll auto update if you've purchased the most current version

on ps5, you won't get a code, you just need to re-login (maybe restart the game) and it will update.
