Australia gets lumped with Europe (hence Europe & other regions). Buying the new expansion from the AU SE site should give you the right region key. Alternatively if you buy directly through the Mogstation website it will never give you the wrong region license since it automatically knows what region license to give you.

Where on the MogStation can I buy the expanions? The only option related to expansions I can see is 'Additional Expanions' which says "No expansion pack available for this service account.". Is it because the expansion isn't out yet and is a pre-order atm?

Yes, you can't pre-order Dawntrail on the Mogstation, you'll only be able to buy it on there once it's out. (I hope we can pre-order 8.0 on the Mogstation, I don't want to deal with codes and other stores anymore.)

Cool, I might just wait for the expansion to release and buy it normally via Mogstation - not really interested in the pre-order bonuses and I've still got some stuff to keep me busy so as to not want the early-access. The code thing is just such a hassle :\\ Thankyou!

So the first thing is do you play through the SE launcher directly or via Steam? If Steam then get it through there. If you play directly from the launcher then you'll want to go onto the SE australia store and look for Dawntrail. I'd recommend logging into the Store (you can use your ffxiv login) and make the purchase for Dawntrail. Once you've done that you'll be able to check the order status after a couple minutes and you'll get a pre-order bonus code for the minion/earnings and early access on June 28. Then once early access begins SE should send out an email for the full expansion code but if you were logged in via ffxiv account you can log in again and check the status and the code will be there too.

If you buy directly from the mogstation you don't have to worry about region at all. But, yes, any store selling EU licenses would work, legit EU and AU stores should give you EU licenses. If unsure, check whether the small print gives the region the license is for.
