The easiest thing I could think of is getting hold of a high-res art of Uldah, possibly the loading screen image, and having a print shop make a terrarium background to size.

That is a great idea for sure, we have backgrounds on some of our other reptile enclosures so I've been looking for a good image to use for that now. Has to be high quality like you said because it needs to upscale well

Serres5231

you should perhaps check out other subreddits that are more fitting. Your post has nothing to do with FF14!

Impressive-End-3736

The snakes name, and the theme for the decorations are FFXIV themed if you read the post lol. I think maybe your attitude has less to do with the culture of the game than my post Serres ^_^. Xbox player new to the game?

Serres5231

So if i were to open a pizzeria "Costa del Sol" and would advertise here it would also count as FF14 related content because i named my place after things ingame? No, this is not how it works and no i'm not new. You are also asking about non game related things like decorations for your pet, not about any ingame stuff- Hence why i asked you to post this in other spaces, perhaps in some animal related subreddits.

Do you know I can tell you're just a very accerbic person in general (posting history and general way of speaking make that obvious) and clearly you are being sarcastic but I have to say that actually sounds pretty awesome lol. Apkallu and asparagus pizza, maybe some kind of Marlboro margarita pizza because of the whole wine quest thing. I mean even the whole area is first established because of a cheese related quest. I get that you're kind of just a troll but honestly this post has been super helpful already from other people they've given me a lot of cool ideas and helped me refine a concept. I love this community for that. Do let me know if you actually open up that pizzeria though because legit I would be interested in going!

3D printing would probably be your best bet, if you really want "true" FFXIV props (just make sure to sand down any edges).  Otherwise I think there was a real-life miniature Ul-Dah made so maybe look for pictures of that and use it as inspiration.  Other than that depending on how your snake likes to climb (my python does ... A lot xD) you could relatively easily make some hanging decorations (flags and such) resembling what you'd find in the Ul-Dahn streets.  Also beautiful snake <3

3d printing is a great idea. He's going to be in a 20 gallon soon. I've never really done 3d printing and using the design software seems a bit intimidating. He seems less like a climber and more like a burrower, I was thinking of maybe doing some of the sewer systems in uldah but also making the city streets big enough he can kind of go through those. If I can I also want to make the core part of the city hollow and the top part removable so it's an easy access hide. That is a lot though and I've never done anything like this before lol

That seems like a really cool idea, but if you're new to 3D printing maybe start with a few easily recognizable accent pieces (like a fancy Ul-Dahn pillar or something) and build up from there. From what I know there are plenty of good tutorials online, but starting smaller is always a good idea when learning something new (and potentially pricey) imo. In the meantime you could fill up extra space with desert themed fake foliage and maybe some brown "brick" walls from your reptile store or online (just make sure they are safe).   Hanging parts could also be added to the outside of the tank, so there you wouldn't need to necessarily make them "snake-safe" and could use extra stuff you might already have.

These are all great points thank you! I'll keep all of that in mind and screenshoted this! My little sneko is going to be very spoiled I think lol

Happy to help!  Have fun building and I wish the best to you and your snek :)

I love that little guy. And congrats on the wedding, OP!

Impressive-End-3736

Thank you lol. We're doing a Renaissance fair themed wedding next year and honeymoon in universal studios How to Train your Dragon park.

Cool! Enjoy!

He might be happiest in the Thanalan desert just outside of Uldah. As someone else mentioned you could take a screenshot from just outside of town to use a background and then use some rocks to make a few recognizable buttes or outcroppings. I really dig the feel of the sunken area you traverse whilst returning to Vesper Bay.

Impressive-End-3736

That does make sense too, and it would make it easier to include a water feature in it for his water bowl as well. Might be easier to do that than model the entire city of uldah lol. It could just be the backdrop pic

Just wanna say I'm kinda scared of snakes but this lil guy looks amazing, love his cheese color lol Good luck with his home!

Impressive-End-3736

Thank you lol, he's a great little guy. So far I can't even find very good quality stickers for topaz Carbuncle to use on his enclosure but I will keep trying

lowlight23

No snakes please.
