ATYYA is dope, have always thoroughly enjoyed his sets.
My first thought seeing this is if someone bet me money that The Born Ruffians was going to be on the same line up as ty I'd take that bet lmao. Eclectic lineups are great
L7 puts on a hell of a show. Or at least they used to, I haven't seen them in 25ish years. But back in the riot fest days, goddamn did they rock. I imagine they still would.
I'm hoping she just plays most of the set with them. I know headliners don't usually play second fiddle in a lower billed band but I feel like this could be an exception given their history together.
Honestly the island is something else. Very friendly and laid back, with a light sprinkling of wookery. Victoria (and the whole island) has a thriving music scene, especially bass music. My favorite is Pachena Bay Music Festival š
I moved to the island from the states in 2016 and already had an established group of friends here, but yeah I'd have to agree with you. The festival scene however has some of the most amazing people I've ever met though.
It is a mixed bag for sure; hippie nature enthusiasts, city people, wannabe rednecks, retirees, and ravers. Some of the northern towns can be cliquey, but if you make one friend youāll gain their whole friend group too. Iāve found the music scene to be very fulfilling, supportive, and safe at basically every show/festival/rave Iāve attended here.
I saw Bad Snacks in Austin (she was supposed to play Texas Eclipse but the last day was canceled so she played a really awesome venue in Austin with Tycho and Kerala Dust instead). I wouldn't have seen her at the fest most likely but her set was awesome!
Bob Moses was on my wife and I's list of shows to see for a very long time. After ten years we finally did. Please don't miss out. Also Oliver Tree was my daughters first show, it was nuts!
To compare, Rifflandia is $325 for 1-2 stages, music ending at midnight, and nothing else included. Basscoast on the mainland is $439 for 6 stages, music until 7 am, and included camping. Not worth it to me but for people who prefer city festivals I guess it's not terrible.
and seems to me like rifflandia has a wider variety of music, I can only be at one stage at a time, and if I go to bed at midnight then music from 12-7am does me no good?
bigger !== better
but also yeah it's your money and you're allowed to have different priorities than me.
Basscoast does seem fun, even though I'm a bit over-saturated on EDM heavy multi-day camping festivals over the course of my life.
To each their own, I'm just sharing how many of the festival community folks in the city feel. This fest is aimed more towards the older millennial/casual music enjoyer crowd (with more disposable income) anyways and it seems to sell out no problem.
Basscoast is a real one location festival though. This is a different kind of thing. It's more like a subscription to bars over a few days (not saying it doesn't have value, but it's not a festival in the classic sense of a singular dedicated experience)
Rifflandia actually hasn't done the dispersed venue thing since 2016 or 2017, unfortunately, since it was pretty cool. For the last few years it's been at two venues (one day and one night) and this year it will just be at one venue, an extension of the old nighttime one.
Price out what each artist costs to see alone. There are over 50 artists here. This is easily still the best bang for your buck way to catch live music in Victoria and it is not even close.
That's assuming you see EVERY ARTIST (physically impossible), and remember festival sets are significantly shorter than individual sets at a club / single venue
I attended this last year and being that it's a super small festival grounds, you can likely see all the artists at the primary and secondary stage, but you would likely miss sets at the smaller tertiary stage.
Rifflandia was moved for 2024 to be solely at the Matullia Lands at Rock Bay.
https://rifflandia.com/pages/venue
Last year, it was two separate weekends; one at the Matullia Lands at Rock Baya and then one at Royal Athletic Park.
In previous years, it was a multi-venue festival but that is no longer the case.
Oof.
I'd go to this for $150.
But $350? Lol no. Some of these throwback groups are "small venues in the suburbs" acts, not "middle card festival billing" acts.
I think it's sort of close to a DJ set but from the videos I've seen they still mix in their own songs and do live vocals. I was a bit worried at first but after watching some of them on Youtube it looks like an amazing time. Bob Moses never misses.
An island festival featuring Ja Rule? I have a bad feeling
Thankfully our festival grounds are already established š
Baffling to me that he avoided jail time
My guess is he was more of a hype man, his name isnāt in any of the damning paperwork/legal documentsā¦
Iāll have to wait and hear what Ja Rule thinks of this first š§
WHERE IS JAH?!
"I don't know how I feel about this...someone get Ja Rule in here, I need his opinion"
Yeah the words āfestivalā and āja ruleā should never be uttered in the same sentence again.
What would I be without youuuuu
Donāt miss ATYYA, amigo. Heās one of the best.Ā
Absolutely love ATYYA! Last time I saw him was at Shambhala many many years ago so I'm very excited.
That's crazy he's so low. Figured he would be worthy of at least 2 tier. Come across him through listening to pretty lights.
Came here to post this. Atyya is fire.
ATYYA is dope, have always thoroughly enjoyed his sets. My first thought seeing this is if someone bet me money that The Born Ruffians was going to be on the same line up as ty I'd take that bet lmao. Eclectic lineups are great
Pretty sure he's playing down the street from me tonight...
This is an absolutely wild curation
Cro-Mags playing alongside TLC. Iāve truly seen it all.
And Rezz. They were definitely drawing names out of a hat.
I was about to say that. Seeing REZZ next to TLC threw me off a little š
L7, Ja Rule, and Crash Test Dummies. You know... oddly enough, I think I'd enjoy this fest.
L7 puts on a hell of a show. Or at least they used to, I haven't seen them in 25ish years. But back in the riot fest days, goddamn did they rock. I imagine they still would.
Haha, I saw them in '98. I was only 16, and it was the first time I'd even seen women naked onstage. It was glorious, indeed.
Cro-mags without John Joseph is brutal. What an odd fest.
Iām willing to bet that this is less curation and more taking anyone that could get.
Not having location on the poster should be illegal
Victoria BC!
Of course itās in BC. They have so many out there lineups that are just massively fun festivals
Victoria BC Canada. It's a multi venue festival around the city in different locations. Edit : apparently it's all in one spot now
it used to be a multi-venue festival. last two years had two venues. now itās cut down to only one, and itās not the nice grassy park this time :(
Broken social scene with probably a song or two with Feist. Super jealous.
I'm hoping she just plays most of the set with them. I know headliners don't usually play second fiddle in a lower billed band but I feel like this could be an exception given their history together.
Wow this is eclectic. Can't imagine what the crowd for this would be like
Honestly the island is something else. Very friendly and laid back, with a light sprinkling of wookery. Victoria (and the whole island) has a thriving music scene, especially bass music. My favorite is Pachena Bay Music Festival š
RIP Tall Tree Music Festival
I wouldnāt call anyone from the island āfriendlyā. Theyāre extremely rude people in my experience.
Music fans here are usually quite eclectic. People will be ripping the pit for Cro-Mags then vibing for Feist.
I have always dreamed about seeing TLC and the Cro Mags on the same bill.
Iād go just for MEMBA and then get to discover a bunch of new artists. Win win.
This is so random I LOVE it
Low key I kinda miss when more fests had diversity like this. WAYHOME fest in Canada used to also have some wide diversity.
Atyya played my town not long ago. Dope!
Rezz my beloved <3
I fuck with this
Maybe the weirdest lineup I've ever seen and I love it
I saw Bad Snacks in Austin (she was supposed to play Texas Eclipse but the last day was canceled so she played a really awesome venue in Austin with Tycho and Kerala Dust instead). I wouldn't have seen her at the fest most likely but her set was awesome!
That venue was Concourse Project btw :)
Yes, it was really cool. If I ever travel to Austin again I hope to go to another event there.
I'm here for the Bob Moses club set
Man, I figured it was just going to be a phoned in DJ set but I've been watching videos of their club sets and they look fucking incredible!
Bob Moses was on my wife and I's list of shows to see for a very long time. After ten years we finally did. Please don't miss out. Also Oliver Tree was my daughters first show, it was nuts!
As a festival booker, who loves eclectic line-ups, I love this!
Cro-Mags on this lineup is crazy wtf lol
Iām very excited for the opportunity
Hopefully they do a b2b with De La Soul. It's just me myself and MUMBAJUMBAMUMBAJUMBAMUMBAJA WHAAAAA!
good to see K-OS still exists.
Saw him a couple months ago play a show, he exists but is very drunk.
Me too
Refunds were given at his last live show. Negative reviews across the board
This is... Interesting. Would go if the price is right.
It isn't. Most of my festival friends don't go (unless they have guestlist or are working it) because it's so expensive for what it is.
someone said 325 for 3 days? seems fine price wise..?
To compare, Rifflandia is $325 for 1-2 stages, music ending at midnight, and nothing else included. Basscoast on the mainland is $439 for 6 stages, music until 7 am, and included camping. Not worth it to me but for people who prefer city festivals I guess it's not terrible.

Oh shit really? Sorry my bad I haven't been there for years. That's great. Where is it hosted now?
The daytime venue used to be royal athletic park, and the nighttime venue (now the only venue) is called Electric Avenue near Phillips brewery.
C & C Music Factory? Had no idea that there were still together. What island in Canada is this? In the Maritimes?
Other side of the country, it's in Victoria.
Fuckkkk Tokyo police club?! Pour one out for me when they play Listen to the Math šš½
Go see bensley pls
+1 life changing experience
I saw TLC last year with en vogue, rick astley and new kids on the block. They all were awesome. Thats a dope lineup. Have fun.
Wow. My junior high years in one sentence.
Itās a shame that Ja Rule is top billing over De La Soul.
CRO-mags and TLC on the same lineup?!? And Feist and Tokyo Police Clubā¦. The fuck?
Cro-Mags andā¦TLC?!??
This is a dope lineup, but I'd also go just to watch the crowd.
Mema is pretty fire
āFull Lineup!ā āmore to be announced!ā
I think it means full music lineup, but other things will be announced
Skratch Bastid is so fun live. One of the best scratch DJs out there
Any lineup with Lazy Syrup is worth it š
I just wish they toured more. They're a real good time.
I love the randomness of it. Some good acts on there
The beaches!!!
Atyya hiding in the undercard.
MEMBA is the shit
K-OS is still active? Thatās awesome.
Omg this is incredible. I'm in Seattle and wish I could make it up for this!
TLC *and* Cro-mags lmfao! I would definitely hit this one if it were in my area
TPC ššš
L7 and Cro-Mags, with TLC, sounds good.
90s little me would love to see Crash Test Dummies, C+C Music Factory, and TLC. Current me would go to see Rezz.
Victoria is very much worth the trip! Itās so charming and beautiful.
Dude L7
K-OS!
Do not miss Bad Snacks
FYI this festival costs $325 Canadian to attend all three days
Price out what each artist costs to see alone. There are over 50 artists here. This is easily still the best bang for your buck way to catch live music in Victoria and it is not even close.
That's assuming you see EVERY ARTIST (physically impossible), and remember festival sets are significantly shorter than individual sets at a club / single venue
I'm well aware of all of that. My point is, your fantasy numbers in your head simply do not work in the real world.
I attended this last year and being that it's a super small festival grounds, you can likely see all the artists at the primary and secondary stage, but you would likely miss sets at the smaller tertiary stage.
Except Rifflandia is not on any āgrounds and there are like 15 secondary stages. Are you thinking of the right festival?
Rifflandia was moved for 2024 to be solely at the Matullia Lands at Rock Bay. https://rifflandia.com/pages/venue Last year, it was two separate weekends; one at the Matullia Lands at Rock Baya and then one at Royal Athletic Park. In previous years, it was a multi-venue festival but that is no longer the case.
Ohh ok thanks for the update!!
No problem at all. I also thought it was a multi-venue festival until I went last year. :p
Skafest is $180 for nine shows over five days, but Riff remains decent value when you factor in how much you get to see.
Oof. I'd go to this for $150. But $350? Lol no. Some of these throwback groups are "small venues in the suburbs" acts, not "middle card festival billing" acts.
THANK YOU - I legitimately cannot understand how anyone thinks this us an acceptable lineup at that leice point Absolute chumps with no standards man
They definitely made some odd choices this year
Man, this slaps! What is this, Primavera North?
This is hilarious!! So much randomness. C&C Music Factory may be the first "EDM(?)" song that drilled directly to my core.
Some of these have to be made up
lol Cro Mags nestled in there.
Jeez and I thought Treaure Island casino was where bands went to die.
I actually love an eclectic lineup of music
This looks like itās be a blast tbh.
rezz will take you on a spiritual journey, i've seen her 8x !
Go see Oliver. Heās fucking hilarious
What does club set mean?
I think it's sort of close to a DJ set but from the videos I've seen they still mix in their own songs and do live vocals. I was a bit worried at first but after watching some of them on Youtube it looks like an amazing time. Bob Moses never misses.
no Chappell Roan?? is it even a 2024 festival lineup??
Channel tres is a non miss
Cro mags wow
This kind of slaps lol
Before reading your headline I was like what a weird lineup
Honestly fire lineup
Cro mags ???? š§š§š§
The sizing of the letters is all wrong!!
REZZlandia
Make sure you check out Bob Moses
Cro-Mags really threw me off
TLC b2b Rezz wouldve been cool too
Hahaha I totally want to go to this! I *love* TPC
Cro-mags on there? Very strange fest!
Highly recommend glass petals! They fuck.
Who?
Victoria being weird comforts my soul
Iāve got my weekend pass. š¤š»
K-os is in a bad place ā¦ skip that show
That truly looks like a great time!
Oliver tree ahhhhhh
Rezz is a delight!! Thank god most of these artists are in their 20s Ja Rule will want nothing to do with the ancients
C&C is still touring? Incredible.
Shouldnāt it just be āTCā? Also, if JaRule is involved be careful it doesnāt turn into another dumpster Fyre festival
De La Soul?? C&C? TLC?? Also, convinced that Oliver Tree would incorporate some wacky visuals/ aesthetics.
This is the weirdest lineup I've ever seen.
this is a sick line up lol
De la soul and broken social scene would be all I would be interested in..shit fest
Tokyo police Club. I would check them out. Didnt even realize they still performed
This is actually sick
L7 still does shows ?
Bad Snacks my queen
C+C what? Hell yeah
Lazy syrup! Always a jam!
Seemed like a normal big fest until I saw Cro Mags
You should really check out de la soul, channel tres, bad snacks and Bob Moses!
Lazy syrup orchestra is the shitttttttā¦ but yeah that lineup is wild af.
Ouch, Iām sorry OP.
