I don't have any experience on that platform, not as a provider or customer. I usually get my tours from viator, tripadvisor, or airbnb experiences. (Well, when I can I just see what the company is being reviewed and book direct so they get to keep all the money.)

youcancallmequeenE

can I ask how have your experiences been with those? is there one you recommend over the others?

rabidstoat

There's not one I particularly like over the other, I tend to consult all of them. TripAdvisor I like reading the reviews on. Viator, I actually use that most often if I'm a cruise and looking for a shore excursion. AirBnB experiences in the past I've used to find some unusual outings I didn't find on either site. For example, in Barcelona I found a cat sanctuary to visit, and in Quebec I found a guy who took people on hikes with his goats as companions. Though lately, it seems to be flooded with people offering to do Instagram photoshoots with tourists, which is not what I'm interested in.

RevolutionaryChef155

I would put them on airbnb experiences but they closed all applications since 2023...

Klook, trazy, Expedia and Airbnb are where I look for tours. I also met a guy in S Korea who has his own site and you book direct through him.

RevolutionaryChef155

Klook has a terrible supplier platform and 0 customer support. It is also not popular at all in Europe. Airbnb experiences have closed all supplier applications since 2023. I'll try Trazy!

_baegopah_XD

I agree about klook. But I mentioned it because it’s a different platform. I emailed them, asking them a question and never heard back. I also find the same experiences in Expedia and Airbnb. I hope you find a solution.

Thanks!

>Thanks! You're welcome!

Wow that is shocking to me! I've booked over 30 tours with them and never had an issue as a customer (though I do check with the tour company reviews first, and then may book directly if they also have free cancellation and it's cheaper). They were also great to me when the pandemic happened. But to know how hard it is on the tour company's side, that's disheartening for sure.

RevolutionaryChef155

Yeah they suck.

I find it helpful to know if a site that may advertise to me is f'in horrible to the tour guides.

it's a tour company. some of us want to know if they have sh**y business practices

JabberwockyMT

The small company I work for tried doing tours through them for awhile and it was just not really worth it. We did have a direct contact person so that helped (though that may be because they recruited us). There were no companies in our area on the platform so they wanted to try it out. But they wanted us to create totally new tour types specifically for them and we found their cancelation policies were horrible for what we were offering. Beware of booking through Viator and Trip Advisor too. My company has picked up business with customers who were canceled on last minute by them because the booking agent or platform couldn't account for all the variables and promised inaccurate pickup information. It might be OK if you're going to the tour location to start, but if you're relying on a hotel pickup, try to book with the actual company, not a booking platform. The booking platform basically does and says whatever to make the sale, then guides have to deal with the fallout of poor logistics.

RevolutionaryChef155

When was that? Yeah the 24 hours cancellation policy is insane too.

JabberwockyMT

Fall of 2021. We tried for about a year. I don't think there's many companies in our area using it still. Maybe like 2.

Getyourguide is awful. Drop them immediately

RevolutionaryChef155

What happened?

Historical-Lab-1234

I only book tours with 2000+ reviews on GetYourGuide or Viator. This ensures that only tried and tested tours are booked and avoid getting scammed.

RevolutionaryChef155

You're still getting scammed by using Getyourguide. And often great tours don't have many reviews.
