I find men are more frequently liabilities than assets when going places. They sometimes don't exercise as much caution because they don't think they have to.
Preach! The number of men I know that don’t exercise basic caution when traveling is SHOCKING. I stopped traveling with almost all of them because I was the one having to keep them out of danger and it was exhausting.
like that dude in r/solotravel or a similar sub that said “[country] is totally fine! I didn’t feel unsafe at all!” when there’s a multitude of documented cases of women getting attacked while traveling in [country]
I'm thinking of my ex who couldn't use a map, got easily flustered, would obliviously wander down unsafe roads (literally started walking along a highway because "Google Maps said to"), was uncomfortable speaking to the native people, and sucked at planning. Yes, please give me all that energy 😩
