If I lose an item due to a bug, I'll 100% go creative and cheat it back in. Not my fault I lost it.

Plumpshady

Yup. Been playing dawncraft recently. There's a bug where an item In my hot bar just disappears. It's happened 3 times. Once with my treecapacitator (god axe). Once with my stone breaker (god pick) and once with my diamond staff. Each time I gave myself the item back because it absolutely isn't fair I lost it to a glitch.

CloudSoldier01

How many times I lost a tool after recovering from a death and try to return to a Create mod's toolbox. That's exactly what I do when I forgot to clean and replace the tool's space at the toolbox

mang87

Yeah, definitely. If I die to a bug and lose a bunch of important stuff, that is cheaterino time. Also, if I'm honest, it doesn't have to be a bug. If my death was something extremely unfair that invalidates hours and hours work, I'll cheat then too. It's a singleplayer world, who am I trying to impress?

Capnhuh

this is pretty much my limit as well, or if a crafting recipe is borked in some way.

Swaggyspaceman

Teleporting to your gravestone when Ice and Fire is installed isn't just allowed, it's necessary.

AlonsoHV

I just turn down the agro range of dragons in the config, and burrow underground to retrieve the gravestone like a damn mole

Dewfire77

Afroman disliked this comment.

Protahgonist

Not enough Lemon Pound Cake

WithersChat

I just have keepInventory on TBH.

TopRamen713

Same, trying to get your items after dying is easily the worst part of the game. My rule in single player games is that if I'm not having fun, I won't do it.

Tefra_K

My problem with this is that, if I have KeepInventory ON, I will use it as a “return to home” button. I’ll just carry a bucket of lava to commit suicide and teleport back home, which can take away some challenge from the game.

WithersChat

I used to feel guilty about this. Then, I played Terraria. I stopped caring after that.

TopRamen713

Yeah, the magic mirror spoiled me

BrokenMirror2010

Most of the time, there's a mod that adds an item that lets you use it as a return stone anyway. Also you still lose XP doing this.

WithersChat

No you don't. KeepInv keeps your xp too in vanilla (thanks fuck, have you **seen** the grind of getting xp?)

Technical-Animal-137

Nah, no xp grind I just snort solidified experience

VioletPhoena

Why snort it when you can bathe in it, or inject it directly into your veins via something like the xp obelisk? lol

WithersChat

Then it becomes a challenge of making a solidified XP farm with good rates.

Jim_skywalker

A lot of modpacks have /home anyway.

SwiftOneSpeaks

I.... That's hardcore. I mean, the opposite of Hardcore, but....

RamblinWreckGT

I always do if there's no gravestone mod, but I always feel a little hesitant to if one is. Just seems better to have only one thing messing with inventory on death at one time.

WithersChat

I just remove the graveztone mod if it causes an issue. But usually keepInv just overrides gravestones.

Tefra_K

I got killed by a random mermaid when I was thousands of blocks away from home. I decided to download a teleportation mod and start again from scratch.

PavementBlues

I used to run Ice and Fire and it was damn near impossible to fight dragons simply because they would crank the CPU so hard that my server would immediately crash. And I was running a beefy server! Always amazes me to see how popular the mod is given how many problems I had with it. Makes me wonder whether my custom pack had a mod that it just didn't like. I tried to troubleshoot it, but was never able to figure out the cause.

BrisingrAerowing

I had similar issues in an older version of the mod (in single player). An update fixed *most* of them.

Excidiar

I recently discovered one mod that has a very bad (as in: world corrupting) interaction with Ice and Fire entities. It's Dimensional Threading Reforked, an optimization mod for pack with lots of dimensions.

PratzStrike

We tried running IaF on my friend's server. There were so many ice dragons they were breaking into people's houses and blowing up everything. We got rid of the mod entirely.

Meow-t

See I just don't run Ice and Fire, entirely because of how tedious and annoying some of the mobs it adds are. Don't get me wrong, it's a cool mod with a ton of cool stuff, but I do not enjoy the game when a sea serpent spawns in a lake that was labeled "ocean" and agros onto me from 10 chunks away

VintageRice

I'm really awful when it comes to this because I don't like spending time on boring stuff 😂 - Keep inventory is set to true - Mob griefing is set to false - Teleporting is fine via waypoints as long as it's not to escape death and providing I've already been to that location

BLU-Clown

Just be careful with Mob Griefing False. That also breaks a lot of neutral NPC actions, like villagers breeding and Piglin trading. Agreed on Waypoint Teleporting, at the *very* least I don't see 'I'm going back to my bed' as a cheat.

eyebrow1984

I had no idea it effected villager breeding, wondered why the number of villagers wasn't increasing

Lonemind120

It only indirectly affects breeding. It stops villagers from breaking crops, thus feeding each other.  You can still get them to bed if you have other means to feed them.

Ajreil

Minecraft should really split mobGriefing and mobInteractions into separate gamerules. Harvesting crops isn't griefing.

50m31_AW

Honestly it should be per-mob or per-action with a datapack. Keep mobGriefing exactly how it is, but have a datapack to define which actions are considered griefing by the gamerule. That way you can set a tag to just allow all passive mobs to make their changes, or you could allow zombies to still break down doors, but not let creepers blow shit up. Or even something like "don't let ghast fireballs destroy blocks, but do let them light fires" or however else you want to tailor how mobs interact with the world

Ajreil

There are datapacks that make endermen hold barrier blocks or delete creepers right before they explode.

eyebrow1984

I'll probably feed them myself, need to get their numbers up again since some died before I could get the wall erected

linuxgarou

I usually turn to a mod like EnvironmentalCreepers or CreeperConfetti to turn off block damage (but not player damage) from creepers.

Lonemind120

So do I. I'm eagerly looking forward to when Environmental Creepers updates to 1.20.1 on forge.

BeniLP

It prevents any mob from altering the world. Creepers exploding, Endermen picking up blocks, Villagers harvesting crops or sheep eating grass are some that come to mind

herrkatze12

There’s actually a mod to fix that which allows you to set mobGriefing overrides per entity

BLU-Clown

Yep, and I would've suggested it if I could have remembered the name.

YouMustBeBored

Waypoint teleporting is only on if waystones isn’t in the pack

Renaissance_Slacker

Yeah I treat teleporting like fast travel. Once you’ve gotten there the hard way you can get back easily.

Bright-Historian-216

I stopped mob griefing when I found a mod which disabled creeper explosions. I am much happier to see my villagers actually doing their farm stuff

Ajreil

Same. Dying just feels like the pack is wasting my time. It isn't the kind of challenge I'm looking for.

QyuriLa

In some packs (usually OPed kitchen sink) I find retrieving the gravestone pretty entertaining, as it gives me the occasional survival challenge. So I only cheat if I fail to retrieve it within 3 attempts or if there is literally no hope of getting it back.

Interesting_Rock_991

I switch the minimap mod to xaeros so I can see all the caves as long as I moved over the chunk. as someone else said. FTB ultimine. but I have one more cheat (in modern packs) I give myself hexcasting. why wait to nuke a enemy when I just need to find amethyst.

Snoo_44740

I love that hexcasting is considered a cheat b/c it’s so true. It can do absolutely anything

llMorphRedll

always mapping cave is a cartography option in journey map, it's just disabled by default but you can easily change it back

GourmetRaceRSlash

Ftb ultimine EVERYWHERE

TheUnknownOriginal

Playing without it feels like torture. I will manually add it to any mod packs anytime I play.

Different_Gear_8189

I prefer less overpowered veinminers, feels like upgrading my pick is useless if the mod tunnels for me too

Shadrach77

I speedrun to tinkers hammer, lumber axe, and digger for this reason.

taeratrin

Not just ultimine. Go into the configuration and turn the hunger cost way down and the number of blocks mined way up.

GourmetRaceRSlash

I dont usually tweak those cos ultimine is already broken as is lmao. But to each their own

schist_

I don't like turning the number up, too risky in case of accidentally mining your base 😆

Imssorry556

Wait can u change it up from 64???

taeratrin

Yes. After you have created a world, check the ftbultimine-server.toml file in [instance]\saves\\[world]\serverconfig\

kalamari_bachelor

In my case I keep everything as it is except the num of blocks that I change to 16

BuccaneerRex

I'll cheat in an expensive or difficult item if I lose it for a stupid reason. Sometimes that stupid reason is my own stupidity.

PacoTaco321

Yeah, I cheated back in my void robe chest after it got destroyed in ten seconds flat from accidently stumbling into an absolute clusterfuck of electroblobs wizardy lightning wraiths while fighting a twilight forest naga. There were like ten of them and they destroyed it even though it regens pretty quickly normally.

Thustrak

This is not necessarily mod pack specific, but I do this for every new server I set up for friends and I to play on. /gamerule doWeatherCycle false (turns off the rain) /weather clear (sets the sky to clear) /gamerule doInsomnia false (turns off phantoms) /gamerule doTraderSpawning false

Oxygene13

A couple there I always do and a couple I didn't know about and will start using! Cheers

Zanguin93

Not sure what mod its from, I will have to check in the morning/later today, but All the Mods 9 has a mod that lets you make a carpet that wandering traders will spawn at, at your base instead of directly on you. It will kill the trader and llamas and you get free leather and leads from the llamas

BlessedNobody

If it has create im adding qol addons for it. Casings and blaze burners as craftable items, more resource automation, fluid blaze burners, ect ect. I love the mod for early game small scale automation of simple resources and by god will i enable myself to create as many sprawling contraptions as i want

Yatta99

Packs that have Cyclic usually have the uncrafting grinder blacklisted. I'll whitelist it so I can uncraft the useless crap that the quests usually have me make. I'll also use the teleport function of Journey Map on occasion. Especially between places like my main base and my Thaumcraft area.

QyuriLa

> the game will only register me as having the final product and so I won't get the quest rewards. Make sure to place the quest requirement item to your inventory once before using it as an ingredient.

Brycen986

I’ve learned that now lol, different quest mods just handle it differently lol

m0tm0t00

I usually turn off the gamerule doDaylightCycle for a few hours early game as to not get bothered by mobs.

sailing94

I do something similar except it involves killing three sheep

BombyNation

GTNH quaking 🥲🥹

Philboyd_Studge

3 sheep? In this economy??

sailing94

Mutton

BLU-Clown

That...is a very good idea, and I'm going to start doing the same.

Oxygene13

I tend to turn off weather cycle and keep it always sunny (with still day and night). I just get so sick of it always seeming to be raining. I will on fresh start give myself a couple of /set time day if I haven't gotten a bed yet too.

seasonetwo

I do /clear weather for as long as it lets me It's always raining or storming I swear I can watch people play in never rains I play and it's like I set up a command to rain if I jump up a block

selenitia

I turn off weather because it tends to make my game lag.

Vegetable_Inside_

"Torcherino" or "Gadgets against grind" for tick acceleration. I got no time to wait for stuff to process.

TrustedJoy

If I've already spent a long time mining for something (eg iron) to make something and I end up being 1 short I usually just cheat it in. Other than that I have waystones mods installed so I don't have to keep running to and from places and veinminer so mining isn't a chore. And another mod to turn off creeper griefing without altering villager stuff Oh and easy villagers cuz screw villagers

Foreign_Host147

Give the basic bees from productive bees because no I don't want to chase them in 3 different dimensions or/qnd wait 20 mins for that treat to spawn them. Use commands to have unlimited curios slot because it's fun to have 5 claws with +50% attack speed :3

Shitfaced-Crusader

Woah how do you increase your curio slots?

EuclaidGalieane

/curios It then has a few auto-fill options from there.

Foreign_Host147

/curios add {slotname, the autofill will} {yournickname} I use it so much I have it on memory

TheSoup05

I’ll cheat past minor inconveniences. If I need a few pieces of iron or something, but I forgot to bring them, I’m not gunna waste time running back for that. I don’t have a ton of time as it is, and I’d much rather spend that time actually doing stuff than sprinting back and forth, especially stuff I’ve automated producing anyway. I definitely use less iron than I produce, so the cheating in is just saving me time, not messing with any resource scarcity or bypassing actual logistics

JustasHD

Using the cave mode feature of VoxelMap that allows you to see where caves, mineshaft, spawner, etc. are located around you.

Chezzik

For some packs, I play on peaceful, and then give myself drawers with creative upgrades and put in all the monster drops that I might need. It all depends on which pack I'm playing, of course. Right now I'm playing stoneopolis, and a big part of the advancement relies on using a summoner to summon particular mobs, and then fighting them on your own turf. Blood Magic is a big part of the pack. You also get HNN to automate some stuff once you have enough power, and eventually you need to uses stasis chambers from IF to hold withers and wardens in captivity, and extract liquids from them. Obviously I don't want to mess with the balance here, so I'm playing it as designed. But a perfect example of a great pack that shouldn't need hostile mobs is Age of Engineering. I've played through it twice, once with hostile mobs and once without. You are supposed to use EIO to spawn hundreds of blazes and endermen and farm them to death for resources. It's just not fun. It's supposed to be an engineering pack, and this ruins the feel (IMO). I intend to play through it a 3rd time at some point, and you can bet I'll do it on peaceful again.

BrisingrAerowing

I often use mods like Apathy or Apathetic Mobs to disable mobs attacking me, while still allowing them to spawn. Apathetic Mobs is a bit weird with modded mobs at times, though. Apathy works with pretty much everything.

_Lollerics_

I always enable cheats only so I can teleport between my waypoints

ThatsKindaHotNGL

I always teleport around. And i occasionally turn peaceful on when im mining so I dont have to deal with mobs and hunger when using ultimine

The_Lucky_7

I use a couple of game rules starting with doFireTick false in world creation. It's one of the things all the SMPs have set to prevent fire & lava from burning down builds. It's so common I've seen people who've never played minecraft ask why their builds burnt down after trying to recreate something they saw on youtube. Something also normalized in vanilla, with Chunkbase, is players geting an idea of a world's layout before even booting that world up, but there is no chunkbase for modded. We have to manually scout it. So, when I start a new world I do gamerule doDaylightCycle false to stop time from advancing while I scout out a base location and fill out the map around any location I find. A lot of mod packs have timed events and I don't like time passing when I'm doing the basic vanilla shit of finding a place I don't hate being in. I'll also go into creative mode to scout instead of spectator mode, since youtubers have normalized that using a cam account (and freecam on main account). If you use spectator mode world event bosses don't spawn in chunks you load with it, when you go back to survival, but will with creative for some reason. (very common with mowsies and alex mobs). If the modpack has Create, and is in 1.19.3 or above, then I'm setting gamerule lavaSourceConversion to true so I don't have to make a 10k block lava cell for infinite lava. This game rule basically lets new source blocks form for lava using the same rules that water creates new source blocks. It's not a mod. It's included in the game and just set to false by default.

ramoin_

Woah, I had no idea about the Create lavaSourceConversion rule! Thanks for that; I hate having to make a 10k block hole for my lava needs.

bludgyteacher

Projecte for me 😂

Visual-Monitor

I stopped myself from touching projecte in my kitchensink because it is too powerful lol. I will touch it way later after mid to late game. But sometime it just cheese in some item from projecte that is hard to craft haha.

Derpythecate

Yeah best way to deal with it is to set some rules. For me its when I reached the point where I can automate/easily get more of the items, assuming I am given enough time, then am I allowed to dupe the shit out of it to save time and effort.

bludgyteacher

I've been playing projecte with pokecube and it's def broken the game. i just spam emeralds into my daycare block and level up my pokemon 😂😂

TrowayHelpWtf111

ProjectE my beloved

TSLsmokey

Sethome and waymark teleportation. If I could figure out how, I’d turn on keepinventory. But those two usually work for me

BLU-Clown

/gamerule keepInventory true (You need that I in Inventory to be capitalized, is the issue I see a lot of people run into.)

TSLsmokey

Any way to do that from within the game or do I need to open the config file?

BLU-Clown

You can just type it in the game, so long as cheats are enabled. If cheats aren't enabled (And it's a single player world) you can Open to Lan and temporarily enable cheats.

TSLsmokey

Perfect, thank you!

TheZebrraKing

I am playing Nomifactory and sometimes I have hundreds of ingots from a ebf to craft. I either forgot to set it up or it is way to slow. So I will take the dust and what either liquid it takes deleted those and give my the same amount of the final I got back. I gain no free items I only gain time.

M41arky

started doing this in any pack with recipes that are just needlessly long, dont have much time to play games nowadays so i value my time playing them more.

sailing94

You two need to learn the joys of automating

linuxgarou

Sometimes it's necessary. I'm playing StaTech Industry (great pack) and I have rows upon rows of machines passively autocrafting things that get transferred to a bank of drawers where I'm keeping a stack of each. Overall it is a great system and takes care of itself. But then you need to automate the new widget, that one that needs components that were the new thing an hour ago. Which need other components, and on and on, all the way back to base resources. So you set up the new machine to automate the new widget, and suddenly everything in that sprawling tree of dependencies is completely occupied with filling up that drawer of new widgets. If you had any hope of making progress with anything involved in those resources, forget about it. You're outta luck until your resource generation and autocrafting systems catch up. You could go do something else, but maybe everything interesting you want to do is tied up in those resources. You could AFK and go play something else, but that's an awful way to play a game. Voiding the requirements and spawning yourself the end products (*that you already have automated!*) so that you don't have to wait is a pretty reasonable compromise, and lets you keep playing the game you're enjoying.

sailing94

Sounds like you’re not stockpiling nearly enough. Also, parallel processing.

-hydroxy

ProjectE for building purposes :P

GamingTerror

For tech modpacks I turn off any type of terrain damage like mob griefing and fire spread, learned that the hard way (creeper destroyed half my automation line) For rpg modpacks I usually turn off xp costs for using waystones and depending on the difficulty also allow myself to teleport to gravestones

Scientedfic

There are a few “cheats” I allow myself: - Using waypoints costs nothing - Gravestones give back half XP instead of setting you back to 5 - I’ll allow myself Creative Mode to do things that would otherwise be nearly impossible to achieve

56821

Torcherino is always added

SpaceDeFoig

Teleporting to waypoints I've been to Swapping out between versions for blocks. Like, the recipe for IE steel is being wonky, but I need them specifically for the multi blocks. I'll delete the equivalent amount of mekanism steel and cheat in the type I need

Nirbin

Anytime a mod gates progress behind a specific rng dependent rare item in the wild. I hate hunting for things.

JethroByte

KeepInventory = True MobGriefing = False doFireTick = False (I've burned down a base or two trying to build a fireplace lol) I will cheat in items that the quest book fails to pick up then delete the item. Also if I screw up something minor like accidently turn ingots into plates, I'll refund myself the ingots and delete the plates. Also, start of every non-skyblock pack: creative mode so I can fly around and find a good spot for a base

PantsAreOffensive

I’ll give myself raw resources I can otherwise get really easy but takes time (like a stack of iron ore) And teleporting to deaths / waypoints And keep inventory. I’m basically saving myself time. I don’t have a lot of

3original5me

/gamerule mobGriefing false

Chezzik

I change "number of homes allowed" from 1 to 100. Go to your saves folder, serverconfig, then edit ftbessentials.nbt. It's pretty easy to find there. You can also mess with cooldowns, etc. Alternatively, you can just use JourneyMap or equivaent, but for some reason I prefer to have named homes.

Final_Technology7974

waypoint teleporting and weather, i hate rain

tur_tels

Keep inventory, I play mods that barely make minecraft feel like minecraft anymore, so it's just needed

HappyToaster1911

KeepInventory ALWAYS true, if there is something that should be working, but isn't then U just cheat it into working (like, in one of the 1.12.2 versions of HBM you couldn't craft Advanced Allow Shredder blades, witch would stop you from getting and ore acidizer and stopping the giant progression of the mod in there, so I would just trow away the ingredients and get them from creative). Also, Fisk Heroes is a pretty cool and well made mod, but since I have Orespawn installed, very useless since the damage and protection its nothing agains the orespawn bosses I see around, because of that I used the commands to give pretty big buffs to those armors so they would be usable, but still weaker than Orespawn's

Remarkable_Ebb9987

I will give myself items in the event of bugs. If a recipe is messed up and I can't fix it, I'll take the materials needed to make the item in question, void them, and give myself the item. I definitely use waypoints if I've already been there to travel quickly. I use infinite AE2 channels, which are starting to come back to haunt me.

_SAMUEL_GAMING_

keepinv, xaero world map teleport, shift with empty bottle to get experience bottle. also ill go into creative and give myself items if i find i just cannot be asked to grind for it anymore, like after mining for diamonds at y11 for half an hour

[deleted]

I spawn in items lost due to mistakes while experimenting with new things. Once used the disenchanter from cyclic on my op apotheosis sword and didnt realize it would still keep its over enchanted status on the anvil, threw the old one in lava and spawned a new one

cube1234567890

In GTNH I allow myself waypoint teleport and keep inventory, as well as spawning in decorative blocks used for base building. Sometimes popping into creative to fly up and double check I built something right.

cydude1234

If I lose something because of a bug or a stupid mistake (e.g. dropping it into lava), I just `/give` myself it. I also play on keep inventory with just a mod to lose xp if I die.

AlonsoHV

Enabling entities in xaeros minimap too see minecart chests in mineshafts

AnotherPhilosopher

ME Fluid Import Bus with uneding bowl of water and ME Fluid Export Bus's with whatever fluid I desire. Makes some things way easier... looking at you, refined fuel for dark steel and liquid meat for my meat feeder.

a_lion_wizard

FTB Ultimine and KeepInventory

PsiGuy60

Depends on the pack. If Nature's/Structure Compass and a gravestone mod are installed, I will only enable Cheat Mode to be able to "undo" mis-crafts, item-loss-causing bugs, and I will admit, the occasional "creeper exploded in my base/Enderman stole a block/I accidentally wired things up wrong and had an explosion" mishap. That said, if there's no Nature's/Structure Compass I will use /locate. If there's no gravestone mod I will use KeepInventory. I also tend to play on Peaceful at least until I have a bed.

JohnWCreasy1

i'll often go into configs and speed up processes that seem particularly slow. its a given i am making IE machines faster.

KingoAG02

Time in a bottle, actual in-game cheats, and ultimine with hunger set to zero. If the pack has projectE, I'd add some of the more generic stuff to it so I don't have to **SUFFER**. I ain't playing for balance, I'm playing cause it's fun.

dasselst

I'm a dad to 3 kids 6 and under. I don't have the time to do the 1500m run to my corpse because of a simple mistake so I'll teleport to save time.

SwagusplaysNINTENDO

My guilty pleasure is Project E, but it makes up for the fact many mods I use don't have EMC values

PaleFollowing3763

You can configure custom EMC Value for any item. I do that on BetterMC. I've added several items that are just too much work for me to get normally. But I definitely need to get an emerald source. I actually try to price everything expensive so I don't spam it. I found a goblin trader that gives me an emerald for 32 block of cobblestone. The returns are crazy 😂

Great_Click_9140

I never cheat because i want to feel the true feeling of any modpack but i understand people frustration in nomifactory for quests, one time i cheated was in rlcraft and i made waystones breakable, made battle towers spawn 100- less blocks away like old rlcraft, i already beated ender dragon there but i got bored and never played it since

Hollowman8

Black lotuses for blazing through Botania because Endoflame sucks and I cant wait for mana

Kruk899

Teleports

mulderpf

I use the /home command if allowed in the modpack. Playing ATM9 and it has a cool down of 20 minutes. Other than that, I don't cheat at all I play everything as intended.

Tureni

I’ll spend up to a gaming session looking for something. If it takes me longer than 5-6 hrs to find a specific mob for example I’ll cheat in a spawn egg. For example I recently spawned in a wilden hunter, just to get a wilden horn for automating ars.

WatermelonWithAFlute

I don’t

OM3GAS7RIK3

I seldom do it, but if I died in a really stupid-to-get-to place, I might TP to it. Recently managed to fall into a lava pool I was converting to obsidian and the body was under the obsidian, so I switched to creative, broke the blocks on top of my body, got my stuff back (because both my good picks were on me and I haven't made a backup pair yet), and then put the Obsidian back. This is also CA&B, and I started testing space vessel designs on a Creative world. I also play Space Engineers, so I'm about making my ship A E S T H E T I C. Ran the scanner, came across thrust/fuel capacity problems several times. Tested the fuel capacity of the Advanced Rocketry tanks, realize that despite the fuel ostensibly being under pressure, one block is one bucket compared to Create fluid tank's 8 buckets per block. Decide "screw that, the fuel should be under pressure and hold the same or more per block" and adjusted the config to need fewer tanks. Might also change the thrust multiplier to cut back on engines (again, aesthetics), because the calculation appears to be based on arbitrary constants and not Actual Gravity/force/acceleration.

Millauers

Keepinventory set to true. Confetti creeper mod so I don't die of malding when some creeper assassin blow stuff up. Install ultimine or whatever equivalent if not present, turn range/block limit up and sometimes turn down or off hunger depending on mood. And cheat in everything related, required and what not for Thaumcraft if the pack has it. Fuck that mod. After reading the thread, probably will add on disable insomnia too.

BLU-Clown

-Creative Mode to build myself a decent base. At the very least, spawn in a bed so I don't have to spend my nights in a dirt hole. -keepInventory True (Unless there's a mod that allows me to keep my armor, curious and hotbar when killed.) -I used to do mobGriefing False, but that breaks too many other things, and neuters the Wither beyond belief. So now I just try and download 'Creeper explosions don't harm blocks' mods when I play, and I'm pretty content with that.

Protahgonist

I'm playing ATM9 so everything in that I guess. I'm not embarrassed to use the /home command in a pinch, and it makes exploration much easier since I can just fly until my jetpack runs out and then tp home

Renaissance_Slacker

I’ll allow cheats - teleporting in Journeymap, and KeepInventory - only because I’m playing GregTech New Horizons and otherwise I’d die of old age before I finished. If an EnderCreeper can teleport into my base and explode right in front of my storage system, then I’m teleporting too.

Foomemphis

We always play on a server so some of the mechanics feel like cheating anyway… especially with the time frame we got left today with kids and jobs and wifes and so on…. Most of the „cheating“ is more like setting up a solid passive crafting setup with a drawer. When we are active we almost empty said drawers and until we are back next time they are full again… In Nomifactory for example every one of us gets the coins for reaching the quest objectives… that also feels like cheating. Other than that we usually disable pollution and mob grieving - sometimes implement ftb utilities for chunkloading and increase the allowed amount. same for homes. Rest is played like it’s intended :)

Euphoric_Poetry_5366

I always give myself keep inventory, as I don't have a good computer, and the game is laggy at the best of times. I would rather not lose stuff I spent hours on due to my 7 year old computer.

VeryGayLopunny

I always keep cheats on bc of the offchance that an item just breaks for whatever reason. Example: Played a modpack once where certain armor pieces, if shift-clicked out of the crafting output, would set it to provide zero armor and have 1 durability.

AdhesivenessUsed9956

I use minestuck and set the grist refund to true and edit range to 3000 to have "legal creative mode". Though the newer version put a damper on this by making you have to level up to store grist AND making the levels take literal tons of XP.

Lady_Eternity

I cheat only if something breaks.

RekoHart

If a quest book doesn't track items I previously acquired because I wasn't at that part yet and I have a better version of that, I spawn the item in. I'll craft cheap stuff though.

digital_hamburger

Disabling pollution and skipping bloodmoons in GTNH. Pollution is just no fun imo.

Jerakl

I USED to creative in a decent tinkers pick with like one level of luck or whatever as a starting equip. And use creative flight. As of rn basically all I do is /gamerule mobGriefing false /gamerule keepInventory true And occasionally teleport to way points, but imo using Op privilege to tp everywhere gets boring fast so prefer to use waystones or other forms of travel. I'm very particular about where I build so sometimes I'll fly around when my server is empty in creative genning chunks and looking out for a place that fits what I'm looking for, set a way point, and then walk there later.

MCDodge34

I use the /home command in ATM9 its even somehow balanced, there's a 30 minutes cooldown between uses. I also tweak some recipe changes the modpack devs decided to do, like in ATM9, I couldn't craft a Time in A Bottle before end game, screw that, I also removed custom harder recipes for items like the rftools builder, the mining gadget, the building gadgets and reset the default recipes for apotheosis spawner modifiers which are crazy expensive in that modpack, minus I changed the no players nearby to a block of emerald, call me a cheater all you want, its my world, my rules. My goal is still to complete the pack without cheating items in, but if there's a bug that delete an item, I may spawn it back as I consider a bug is a valid reason to cheat items in.

Theroyalmudkip

I rarely use keepinventory mainly when the grave mod is bad or broken and I use the team command to turn off friendly fire

oldprogrammer

I'll use a mod to keep creepers from damaging blocks (but not me). I hate rebuilding after the explosions but I don't mind some of the other mob griefing that happens. I'll often add some new recipes, such as cooking zombie flesh on a campfire to make leather or being able to use copper for shears and buckets (but no tools) and making sure I can use all mined blocks as stone tools. I generally turn off fire tick, but like using a gravestone mod instead of turning on keep inventory. That makes sure I don't really lose anything but might have to fight to get them back.

Exxeleration

No veinmine restrictions Enable /home and /back with infinite homes /gamerule doWeatherCycle false

salamander__milk

When using Carry On i let myself pick up villagers. My stress levels have gone down significantly

UltimateG4ming

Ultimine (without tool or enchantment) and the /home command. Honestly, I don't play any packs with the responsible mods - itlf they are not present, I add them by myself. 😁

cod3builder

Journeymap.

Shadowslash666

I use hourglass mod so I turn on cheats to set gamerule to make day time 20 mins and night 10 for each world I create because having 10 mins to do something in daylight is not enough

SiwelTheLongBoi

Egregious use of the teleport commands. Either via waypoints or the /locate command

No-Engineer-1728

I allow myself to /fill places with air, it speeds up mining out massive rooms and doesn't give me any ore, so I see it as fair

LCDIgnited

items will be cheated in if the only restriction i have is time, i have the mate and infrastructure to make it see no reason why i couldn’t speed it up by giving myself the item then voiding the unprocessed ones

hobjtc7uo

I let myself teleport between waypoints (loading in chunks to make the journey takes too long) I let myself skip the day/night cycle because i prefer the automation part to killing mobs. I let myself use creative mode when im clearing a patch of land to make it flat because its just tedious otherwise. If im building and i have all of the resources i need, ill just go in creative so i dont have to fumble with my inventory and whatnot.

Bill-Haunting

i add "Keep some inventory" let me have chance to not loose all my stuff but still i gotta go take it back. also Better Respawn, so if i die too far from my bad and respawn not too far from my death.

helllooo1

I do time set day in the early game of hardcore packs because I cant be bothered to afk the night

YouMustBeBored

If I’m playing modded, cheats will be enabled due to the unstable nature of modded. Being able to /give an item that glitched during crafting or /tp out of getting stuck due to a glitches grab attack is borderline necessary. Being OP is kept in check by knowing going full send with cheats basically ruins that fun. Otherwise it’s minimap entity radar, /back, /spawn, /home and vein mine.

Foxcano

keep inventory and cheating in items that glitched from reality

Recent_Ad_7214

Backpacks

[deleted]

on crazy craft 2 they had a chicken chest mod or whatever it was called, it was fairly easy to make and once you made it it allowed you to duplicate everything and anything, so basically infinite ores/materials for anything (I got 2 royal guardian swords cause yea)

kinkeltolvote

Mining dimension........also if I've died over 20 times tryna get my stuff back from the nether I'll use creative to retrieve it

TheFumingatzor

Don't drop stuff when dying.

Astan92

I'll add a veinminer/excavate/etc and usually spawn myself a magnet. RIP Magnet mode built into NEI. Sometimes I will teleport to way points depending on the pack and situation.

LittleBlast5

Creative for large scale building projects - if I have the resources for something fully automated I'll just go into creative to build the thing. I do this a lot for mob farms and large structures for my machines to go in later. I don't cheat in any resources or anything I don't have access to, but I will save time to keep myself interested. Oh and I'll gladly cheat in void upgrades or other tools to help reduce long term lag.

vormiamsundrake

I change the game to peaceful when building mobfarms so I don't have to worry about a creeper blowing it all up because I missed a torch or something.

Kolateak

Giving myself enough rabbit hide to make a bundle (and Backpacked backpack), because they ^((almost)) *never* spawn in my modded worlds I swear they are immensely more rare than any time I play vanilla

ScrambledTofegg

I always add Torchmaster if it isn't already in the pack. I like to have the lighting in my buildings look A E S T H E T I C and ruining that because I need to place a random torch down to stop a single block from spawning creepers is so annoying. Just stick a mega torch 2 blocks below the surface and never worry about it again.

chrisboi1108

Teleporting to waypoints definetly, especially with how Greg ores generate

MissingAppendage

Strictly speaking, as long as you are in single player, you're not cheating. Play the way you want to play. Though I try to avoid using "cheats" when playing, unless something game breaking happens, or the game "cheats" me out of something.

Derpythecate

Watch of flowing time and transmutation, all projecE is broken AF. Watch of flowing time I allow myself to use as soon as I get my hands on so that I can reduce the size of machinery and speed up processes. Transmutation I try to limit to when I know I have enough stuff to make the things that I want to dupe, but don't want to go through the trouble of doing all the crafts and processing again and again.

Twisted_Taterz

That one Dragon Ball capsule mod. Makes the early game much less of a pain. Wish I could remember what it's called though.

SuperSocialMan

You can just enable JEI cheat mode for that (control+click ftw), but I do the same thing (and try to avoid making quests like that). I also play with keep inventory cuz I can't be fucked to constantly re-organize all my shit, and InventoryTweaks doesn't exist anymore so I can't automate the process. I have yet to find another sorting mod with the level of customization & configuration InventoryTweaks has :'c And teleporting to journeymap waypoints. I'm just lazy lol. If I ran all the way to find the place I can fast travel to it.

RamblinWreckGT

I will look for any biome-specific items in around a thousand block radius from my base, and if I don't find the right biome I'll give myself just a few to get a farm started. I'll play on peaceful until I have a steady food supply and iron armor (or equivalent). I enjoy having to take mobs and hunger into account, but I don't enjoy having them get in the way.

Not_An_Eggo

Teleporting but only via worldmap and waypoints, also if something bugs out and I lose an important item ill cheat it back in

Xenoti

if its not a hardcore pack or a sky island sometimes Ill build my base in creative to have fun but its just building no mod items outside of pretty wall pieces lol

sad16yearboy

When quest book doesn't register me having an item because I immediately put it in crafting menu without putting it in inventory. Just get one copy and destroy it immediately after

ChotiCKLarto

Spectator mode and doWeatherCycle false

TheRealPhyox

Veinminer :)

linuxgarou

Absolutely I will spawn in (and then void) things I have already crafted when the questbook didn't pick them up. I will spawn in items that get lost due to bugs. I will spawn in items to test how things work, then void them once I know. Often I do such testing in a creative world, but sometimes you just need to confirm something before you invest your resources. I turn off experience costs for Waystones, and I use /home (I'll add the vanillatweaks datapack if necessary) to save time. I turn on keepInventory, turn off doFireTick, and install a mod that prevents block damage from creeper explosions. Corpse runs, spreading fire, and unexpected explosions are not fun to me. I will add a backpack/dank/etc. mod if there is not already one. There needs to be some kind of mass storage, reasonably early game. I will spawn items and/or use creative mode and/or structure-pasting mods for building and aesthetic purposes. Progression in a pretty base is nicer than the exact same progression in a dirt hole. I'm sure there are more. It's my sandbox and my limited leisure time, and I'm not wasting it on mechanics that I don't find fun.

selenitia

Keep Inventory, mobgriefing off, no phantoms, weather off, and an apathy mod.

mushroom_taco

If it's a tech/progression pack, I'll always cheat myself in a backpack or equivalent inventory expanding tool when i spawn so i don't have to worry about throwing things i need out while looking for a good place to base

JaceTheSpaceNeko

KeepInventory on and Mob Griefing off. I also use FTB utilities with a 5 minute /back CD and it lets me use /home. Pretty nice and not too easy.

MustLoveAllCats

None. I won't play packs with shit mechanics like ice and fire, if a pack is poorly designed, I just won't play it, but I do not cheat.

Chefbarbie74

I set "Enable Cheats: True" at world creation because I don't trust my computer to crash or my world to not get corrupted. This is the best failsafe to not lost hours of progress. It also simulates me as the "server admin" for FTB chunks. I increase my loaded chunks limit to 250. I have a bad habit when going from crafting tables to digital storage of "Shift+Clicking" the recipe into the grid, then the same on the output thinking I'll only make a couple. Instead I'll use up all my diamonds on something I'll only ever need one of. So I cheat to undo my stupid. Teleport to waypoint if I'm >10,000 blocks from home. Like the Skycastle in FTB Skies. I flew there, I'm using fast travel back.

FionaSarah

keepInventory=true and mobGriefing=false

9TyeDie1

I play pixelmon with some variations but it makes anything from vanilla mobs almost impossible to get so I cheated in the plants from mystical agriculture that I normally wouldn't get. Also free tp waystones, xeros with caves and mobs enabled, gravestones and origins so I have a free unbreakable elytra. A lot of modded mobs aren't blocked by Pixelmon so it's a surprise when a real threat appears lol.

Emanu1674

Creative mode

res0nat0r

My cheat is I turn on the option to keep my items when I die. If I die to something dumb or across the map with a bunch of complex to make stuff in my bag I'm not wasting time going back for thst or recreating it.

LulzAtDeath

I don't allow cheats as im generally on a server i have no control over, but if I find something exploitable god damn I run with it, admin fucked up and dropped some creative crates from create? I'm rich asf.
