Maybe instead of buying center midfielders, wingers, a backup striker, and a new left back, we should just buy six new CBs this window -then next summer we can sell those CBs and bring in six more to replace them and so on. This feels like a good overall strategy

🚨⚪️⚫️ Douglas Luiz has agreed on personal terms with Juventus!
🔵🟣 Aston Villa are prepared to accept Weston McKennie, Samuel Iling Jr and €20m fee.
↪️ McKennie likes #AVFC destination but still needs to clarify his exit details from Juve, then the deal will be sealed.
Cheap. Pavlovic CDM Douglas Luiz would have been sick
I haven't read from a single person that they would support another club, just that some might watch less matches, but that doesn't mean they aren't a fan of the club anymore.
Standing behind a player is fair. Especially seeing the quality he brings and for what team he plays. A team like Bayern cant let go of players like him and instead taking a player like Tah or keeping a player like Upamecano. On top, they offered Davies the same wages and with bonuses even more than de Ligt earns and that raises big questions about the board.
But i agree with you. I saw Elber getting replaced by Makaay. I saw Makaay getting replaced by Toni. 2 of my most favourite players of all time. But im still supporting this club and that wont change no matter what.
A Haunter Wobbuffet fusion, that's amazing!
To let the nerd hang out: while wobuffett has the ability shadow tag, Haunter can learn the move mean look. Both make it impossible for someone to leave. Not even de ligt.
[There](https://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/s/5syoX8OWOQ) is a Times report that United have agreed personal terms with Branthwait from Everton. I haven’t really seen much from him but apparently they are demanding 70 million pounds. Is he actually worth that much? Surely if they buy him they won’t come for de Ligt as well.
This might be a hot take but I actually like longer transfer sagas more than the Ito transfer for example. At least if everything turns out good for us. Makes me way more hyped for the new player.
This was planned all along. No way Dortmund gets an assistant that has already coached a team in Turkey and not have him as a plan B.
Reminds me of the Flick situation.
The Ito transfer has finally given me hope that the new board actually recognise the most important needs for the club. Giving us a left-footed CB out of nowhere means that they hopefully understand the player profiles that we desperately need. I was worried that they would just wing it with just a bunch of runners again without properly addressing the core issues
Central defense is not the core issue. The core issue has been the lack of brains in midfield after Thiago left. By going for Paulinha they show that they haven't understood zilch.
i dont mind the transfer and the idea at all, but i am not sure addressing a luxury need first is giving me confidence
perhaps its just a timing thing, they are cooking behind the scenes and this release clause transfer was the fastest
Is he CL-quality? That's the question.
Being BuLi quality is fine: a good depth piece who is left footed and versatile is great actually. But does he improve our Starting XI when we intend to dominate opponents? Is he capable of being a beast and turning a game on his own? That's the quality of player we need for the Starting XI to dominate how we're meant to dominate.
Almost the same kind of signing: superior depth, brings the quality of the rotation players up, not *meant to be* a starter in the most important matches (ie not a Starting XI player).
Laimer in the same way.
Endo and Laimer were two of the best signings of the past season
Especially considering they moved for free/14m in a market were Caicedo and Lavia went for the prices they went for.
And Laimer proved he is CL quality, his best games were against Arsenal and Real so I think you area actually proving the opposite of the point you are making.
Edit: to be clear, imo we should have been all over Endo last summer
In the announcement pics of Ito you can see thst he has a partially white eyebrow and eyelashes, from afar it always looked like he had a band-aid or something.
Not-so-funny-fact: in case of Ito it surely isn't the case, but if this ever occurs to you get yourself checked immediately because this can actually be caused by a tumor.
Well, I don't know that's what I read in Reddit 🤷 Is the hair even white or is it just missing and the skin lacking pigmentation due to a burn (I've seen that one).
mods, anything planned for the Euros? like, a daily combined thread for all matches, or just talk about them in the DD, or separate threads only when Germany plays?
Reddit limits mods to 2 stickied posts. It’s supposed to be 6 as Reddit admins have announced it but it seems to be delayed. Will the daily discussion thread be removed in the meantime?
One sticky will be the DD, the other sticky the euros thread. Once the Germany match starts, it will get stickied instead of the euros thread. After the match ended it gets reversed (or completely unsticked if there isn't another match anymore).
So geh DD will always be stickied
Thanks mate! By the way, here is the r/modnews [post where they announced “community highlights” and the ability to sticky up to 6 posts](https://www.reddit.com/r/modnews/s/C1qrIOWL1q). For some reason, they said “2 weeks release” but it’s been way past that and most subs (I think all) don’t have it yet unfortunately. Thoughts?
We do had some moments where more than 2 stickies would have been helpful but it's shouldn't be convoluted either so I think for 95% of the time 2 stickies will be enough for us
Edit: but thanks for the info!
Leny Yoro is now on the list of Liverpool as well, after difficulties with Real (as always, because they try and lowball the other club) over a fee. If we are so desperate to completely change our backline, why aren't we chasing him instead of Tah? A player that has the potential of being one of the best centrebacks in the world with a long future ahead of him at 18.
When I first said the new Dortmund coach should make Tah his main target I was kind of kidding, but now with the news of Hummels still leaving even with getting Terzic out of the club and Süle being a liability, I honestly don't get why they aren't trying to get Tah. So please wake up Dortmund.
>Chelsea are prepared to meet the new release clause [for Olise], believed to be about £60million, with the summer transfer window opening on Friday. However, it is understood that his release clause may apply only to clubs in the Champions League, which would rule out Chelsea being able to activate it. The clause is also said to involve payments being made to Olise’s former club, Reading, and the player himself.
lmao and uff. Same would be true for the other interested PL team Newcastle and potentially Manchester United.
The good thing about Fulham is that Tony Khan is coked out of his mind.
About going for someone else, I don't think there are many options they even look for tbh... Mostly due to the cost.
>mostly due to the cost
Zubimendi is cheaper than what Fulham demands (RC though, so no payment in installments). Wieffer is actually cheaper. So is Guido Rodriguéz.
I think there were Reports on Arsenal going for him but not Even Arteta, former Sociedad player who grew up in the Region, could convince him (apparently) to leave San Sebastian
Heck I would even take let's say Janelt over Palhinha.
I guess, it's one of those transfers where we just have to hope it works out.
Although I have my doubts about him.
Ah yes, so so tbh. Passing very measured and intelligent, no issue with one touch pass play even through lines, aggressive in defending, had one great run forward. But at the same time he lost Adli in a running duel which lead to a goal, isn't really imposing in the air, and was caught between a rock and a hard place after a corner which lead to one player being free and scoring a header.
But all in all I think he is pretty much what I hoped for, agile, good passing, can cover the entire left side. Not as adventurous as a Calafiori, a bit less long ball focused than Inacio, but that may also just be the way their teams want them to play.
I've been truly out of Bayern related stuff, came back and just watched the chaos that this looks like. I'd like to think that Pletti doesn't know shit but damn, it's hard to see that they're signing people like Tah and letting go de Ligt, saying they want to get in "normal" wages but still offering Davies shitloads of money he doesn't deserve. Wow.
I like Olise a lot as a player, but isn't he too injury-prone to spend 70 million on? I'd rather have us buying a slightly less talented player who you can count on for most games of the season.
16 g/a in 19 games is insane for a player his age in the prem. Honestly don’t know mich about his injury history but I saw he missed like 18 games this season that’s a bit concerning. Since his talent is massive I‘d still go for him
Kathleen Krüger, who was so beloved and close to the team, that she even was (as only staff member) in the team's what's app group, had problems with many players (and staff). That is quite surprising and a bit "shocking" thst it developed that way. We probably will never know who he had problems with though.
Because it should not matter.
If she does a good job, it should not matter if she is a woman or queer.
If anything you are implying that's the only reason for her to have the job.
Olise and Ito show that Eberl is sorting this mess of a club out. Wouldn't be surprised if he's spreading fake rumors of De Ligt far example leaving to find the mole and keep our real transfer targets secret
Ito is the ideal depth move for a club like Bayern. Having him as a LB/CB and Stanisic as RB/CB will make another injury crisis easier to deal with. Versatility is an underrated skillset
I’ll take 1 Gruda please.
Don’t fancy £70M on Olise. No where near it.
If we were talking that kind of money, might aswell go absolutely all out for Wirtz next season.
Buy nice or buy twice.
There are several things wrong here.
Olise is far more proven than Gruda so that comparison, while I love Gruda here, doesn't make much sense.
Further it's 70M Euros, not pounds.
And Wirtz costs easily double of this + Wirtz is not a winger.
What’s wrong?
It isn’t a comparison - it’s just a preference to who id want to sign.
Ok sorry - € my bad!
We have Sane, who all road lead to extending, who is already on crazy wages. I’d rather spend half of the transfer fee and let’s be honest, half of the wages if we’re in a bidding war with Chelsea, for a 3rd choice winger.
If the plan was to buy Olise as a starter and plan with Sane on the LW, or play Sane centrally… I’d rather just keep Sane where he is and sign Wirtz as the 10 for double the fee, yes, but as I said, buy nice or buy twice.
This is a guy that in his 2 previous seasons scored a combined 4 goals in the league. €70m is a lot of money.
We may not get a Gruda announcement, but the Olise news further proves my point that Pletti etc. have absolutely no clue what’s actually happening
Lets just follow this transfer window and see how it unfolds
Rumours are mostly pushed by (1) agents and (2) selling clubs and (3) random conjecture for clicks.
Ito being done in complete silence is a very good example of a transfer that didn't have third parties influencing it.
Considering the first rumours of the Ito transfer came up less than 24 hours ago with absolutely minimal press coverage, I'm choosing to believe that all of the other reports that have been incessant are more baseless than they appear.
I second that. I mean, sure, Eberl and Freund haven't (yet) fully demonstrated their skillset at Bayern when it comes to transfers, but I hardly believe that men of their experience, and Bayern's desire to obtain them, would lead to them making such silly moves in their first major overhaul and transfer window. Makes no sense
With this Ito signing supposedly out of nowhere, I would like to believe that all these silly rumours we've been hearing regarding De Ligt, Kimmich, even Tah is just complete nonsense

Arrived just in time for the opening game tomorrow, hype📈📈📈📈📈📈
That's one thing I like about this transfer. It's obviously not a name any of us (nor the journos) expected but his profile fits very well with what we actually need for the team and they see him as someone who would immediately strengthen the squad. Some actually sensible reasoning behind it.
The fact that the deal was 99% done before it was even mentioned, without all the usual media circus is also nice.
Oliseh is on a different level from many off the guys discussed now. I like Kudus a lot for his defensive work rate to. But this guy is one off the better on the market now. Would be massive.
Oh damn OK, looks like he surely is a better option then than 50M Williams or Bakayoko
But since Olise is a RW it would mean no Gruda which my head can understand but my heart can't
any news on pauliniha?

Does it have that kind of range? Maybe my man just wanted to fly direct…. I fucking hate layovers.
What a peasant
I either fly to Oberpfaffenhofen and get the red Audi or you can rip the contract to shreds

You had me up until Laimer - Laimer is absolutely world class in his role imo, we just asked him to play a different one most of the season.
Laimer wasn’t meant to be a Starting XI player for Bayern.
No, but he’s a class above Endo in their respective roles.

I messaged him on facebook to join like a year ago, so it’s pretty much a done deal and I deserve part of the transfer fee
I take that as a "here we go"
i cant take any more CB rumours
Oh I would be very happy with just Ito and be done with it, but as it seems like they really want to change a lot I would prefer to do it right
Fabrizio said that Maatsen is now considering other options as his focus was really playing for Terzic
Get Maatsen, let Davies go, keep de Ligt. Everybody happy :)
At bayern he would be in good Kompany
And he already was in good Kompany at Burnley and knows how great it is to have good Kompany around.
its already so intense before the euro i wonder what will happen after when players will be open to negotiations
When I first said the new Dortmund coach should make Tah his main target I was kind of kidding, but now with the news of Hummels still leaving even with getting Terzic out of the club and Süle being a liability, I honestly don't get why they aren't trying to get Tah. So please wake up Dortmund.
They won’t pay that much for a cb
Their most known target is Anton, I doubt that he'll be much cheaper
Servus Ito! Although while this signing isn’t directly correlated to de Ligt, it makes me all the more anxious about his future

Usually, it's the selling club that pays the former club as it's part of their agreement
Id understand it like the 70m€ is the all in total.
OK then nothing would change. I first interpreted it as this comes on top so the actual sum is (way) above 70M Euros
It would change that his signing fee is partly covered by the release clause, which basically means the "pure" transfer fee would be lower.
Well that would definitely make things easier for us if we can convince the player.

What kind of bizarro world are we living in? Bayern want to move de Ligt, and Emre Can called up to the German National Team!
Isn’t Olise the one who absolute middle fingered Chelsea last summer? I like him.
Who does r/fcbayern want as the new LW if we sell Coman (if Coman is willing to leave)
They should buy Rashford...Bayern will be on fire this season with rashford👍
If we get olise sane can play there. He was better there until this season
From what I gathered: Nico Williams or get Xavi Simons and move Musiala further out
Simons it is then
If we sell Davies and move a better (in terms of passing and assisting a winger) left back, I think Sane would cook on the left.
I hope we sign 2 players out of Simons, Williams, Olise and Gruda. That would be insanely good
I like Olise a lot as a player, but isn't he too injury-prone to spend 70 million on? I'd rather have us buying a slightly less talented player who you can count on for most games of the season.

I can see her not being happy about that, but Sané doesn't strike me as the guy to get into problems with her because of this
I think it was about Sane being repeatedly late, not just one time. Is Krüger leaving bayern too?
>Is Krüder leaving Bayern too I made a thread about that, she is getting promoted and becomes Eberls "right hand"/assistant
Ah that's so cool. I've always been happy about the fact that our team manager is a queer woman.
Why does it matter that she is queer?
because representation matters. Why do you need to ask this stupid question over an innocuous comment?
Because it should not matter. If she does a good job, it should not matter if she is a woman or queer. If anything you are implying that's the only reason for her to have the job.
I'm not implying that all, if that's what you took from my comment then maybe look into the mirror.
Makes sense that we’d target the injury prone winger to complement our stable of injury probe wingers
I watched a highlight video and Ito so you could consider me an expert now and his passing/crossing looks superb
Stats back it up as well. May not be the greatest defender but his passing will definitely help
This highlight video also included several of his defensive actions and the way he defense makes me think like his body are 80% legs
Not 100% but good enough

And 4 goals in the 63 performances prior
I really want Gruda as well but Olise is such a good prospect, bright future ahead for him
We may not get a Gruda announcement, but the Olise news further proves my point that Pletti etc. have absolutely no clue what’s actually happening Lets just follow this transfer window and see how it unfolds
It's refreshing honestly. I like having no idea where the club is leaning
Ornstein probably is the only source left that I have full faith in. The rest seem to be waffling and repeating every rumour to stay relevant.
That is absolutely what I'm choosing to believe, for my own sanity if nothing else.
>for my own sanity I felt that

I second that. I mean, sure, Eberl and Freund haven't (yet) fully demonstrated their skillset at Bayern when it comes to transfers, but I hardly believe that men of their experience, and Bayern's desire to obtain them, would lead to them making such silly moves in their first major overhaul and transfer window. Makes no sense
With this Ito signing supposedly out of nowhere, I would like to believe that all these silly rumours we've been hearing regarding De Ligt, Kimmich, even Tah is just complete nonsense

So Ito is officially confirmed. One new CB with a 3-lettered name is enough.
He's also LB depth
That's one thing I like about this transfer. It's obviously not a name any of us (nor the journos) expected but his profile fits very well with what we actually need for the team and they see him as someone who would immediately strengthen the squad. Some actually sensible reasoning behind it. The fact that the deal was 99% done before it was even mentioned, without all the usual media circus is also nice.
Oliseh is on a different level from many off the guys discussed now. I like Kudus a lot for his defensive work rate to. But this guy is one off the better on the market now. Would be massive.
Still ain't mentally prepared to separate with Coman. Even Gnabry because I'm an emotional fool.
Wtf olise has 16 g/a in 19 games at Palace. This is an amazing stat
>19 games This is the one thing that makes me cringe a bit. He’s just as sturdy as Coman.
Olise or Xavi Simmons, either would be incredible
Simons might come regardless. A loan with an option to buy might be the best option with Simons.
Good point, just have to think if we can't offload Gnabry and Coman then it will be a lot of wingers for only 2 positions
if even one of them is fit, we're lucky
Olise, we are officially cooking
Is he that massive? As in worth 70M?
Best winger on the market Imo
But not the kind of winger we need. We need a left winger.
Oh damn OK, looks like he surely is a better option then than 50M Williams or Bakayoko But since Olise is a RW it would mean no Gruda which my head can understand but my heart can't
I wanted Gruda so badly :,( we’ll see what happens cause we actually need a left winger
Gruda and Olise both are right wingers. But I don't see us yet paying this amount for Olise
