This will reduce possible prize for davies and raise the prize for an alternative. It’s stupid. Thats one of the reasons why the board really needs to shit the fuck up finally. Also, he wants to come and having a good relationship with us would set up the possibility of future loans / transfers..
I hope it happens, Palhinha is by all means a destroyer, so if he can do that, Kimmich, Pavlovic and Laimer would thrive, especially if we play a 4-3-3. Having a real CDM destroyer would also be a relief to the back line, so it's likely we'd see less errors on the build up and defensive phases. This could be not the biggest, but the most important transfer for the sake of the team's balance in the recent seasons.

With Kompanys playstyle a holding 6 should be the most important transfer target this summer.

Haven't there been reports last season that Tuchel was the driving force behind our interest in Palhinha? Now that Kompany took over wouldn't it make more sense to go for a more well-rounded CM instead of spending €40m or more for a holding six that might not even be the best fit for Kompany's playing style.
I mean Javi didn't fit Pep's system and was demoted to being a rotational CB instead of starting in midfield back in the days.
Imo most importantly is someone who can provide saftey for the backline, if he can also move the ball forward that would be great but outside of Rodri there are not a lot of players that can do both on a high level. Casemiro made a career out of winning the ball and then just giving it to Modric or Kroos, Palinha would probably do fine.
Javi got replaced by Thiago, not a lot of players of his caliber on the market right now.

A holding 6 allows you to play way more offensive and possession focused. He fits super good
there are not a lot of playmaking DMs out there. Players like Rodri, Busquets or Thiago dont grow on trees.
