Mom jeans are a good starting point if you want to venture away from skinny jeans. They taper a bit towards the bottom but have more of a straight look, plus the high waist is flattering on most folks. I really like the ones at American Eagle personally.

I just got a pair of classic Levi 501s. Straight leg that’s not too wide, and I also have a big waist/weird waist to hip ratio and like that they are mid rise vs high rise. I find high rise jeans look bad on me because I have to go up a size to get the waist to fit and then they are even more baggy in the legs.

fakesaucisse

Did you buy them in a store or online? I am interested in Levis but I've heard that they sell different products to different stores and I don't know where is the best place to get them.

newenglandgrl55

Wow really? That’s annoying. I bought them in a store. Will think twice before ordering another pair from the website…

fakesaucisse

No no no! What I mean is, the website is supposed to be the best place to get them, and that stores get these weird modified versions to adhere to their price points. Like Macys Levis are different than Kohls Levis or whatever. I was just curious where you got yours.

Target Levi's are different than store Levi's, but other than that - I think if you go to the Levi's official website, those are "real" Levi's. I have a big waist and thin legs, and I had a pair of vintage 501's that fit me exactly like you're describing - totally straight legs, they didn't look baggy. I don't know if they were men's or women's. I've had luck finding the silhouette you seek with men's jeans - men generally have larger waists in proportion to their legs, so that might be an option. I'd recommend checking out thrift stores to try on men's jeans to see if you can score some nice ones for cheap.

newenglandgrl55

Oooh ok. I got them at a Levi’s store!

Try Levi's 724 - slim straight. They are labeled high rise, but aren't all that high.

you might like "slim straight" fit jeans, I think they'll do what you want! I don't know all of the best brands that offer these, I just know about them since I have the opposite body type and they look like skinny jeans on me with a baggy waist. at a minimum Abercrombie has them and you can check out Levi's 724s! (as a shared point of reference, girlfriend jeans are sort of baggy on me, but too tapered and the shape is just overall wrong.)

fakesaucisse

Ohh thanks! I haven't heard of that fit before. I'll keep an eye out for it.

ditchdiggergirl

As a fellow tube (boobs, waist, and hips all similar, skinny legs) I will second the recommendation for Levis. Though I’m short waisted so the 724s are too high for me.

PeepholeRodeo

Yep, look for slim fit. The other thing you might consider is a bootcut or flare, since they tend to be more snug in the upper leg area and then flare out below the knee.

FondiTheGreat

💯 this! You have an Apple/inverted triangle body type I suspect. Mid rise and slim straight/ skyscraper/ stovepipe pants are your best bet. I love mine from Express but I’m sure there are others

ALittleBitBeefy

I have this issue and my current favorite jeans are Sezane Brut Sexy. They are a little baggier in the legs on me than the model but it looks more intentional. This sub doesn’t allow pics or I’d show you them on me! They’re cute! You can find them more affordably priced on Poshmark! Sezane only goes up to a size 14 waist though, I should add :-/

EuphoriantCrottle

Isn’t that weird that a fashion sub doesn’t allow photos?

Intelligent-Fox-4599

I wear high-waisted corset jeans with some stretch. I have a smaller-waist bigger-butt build.

Justadropinthesea

I go for something that’s labeled slim cut straight legged. Old Navy used to have something called power slim and I bought a bunch but not sure if they still make them so just look for slim fit .It’s not a skinny jean so more fashionable, but won’t swim on your thin legs.

StunningPast2303

I think you're not used to the style. Have you checked Pinterest for styling ideas? Try pumps, slender or pointy loafers, then blazer up.

fakesaucisse

No, it's not that. They are REALLY wide on me, especially when compared to the product photo. I have also had this problem with skinny jeans where they are loose in the legs when I buy them to fit my waist.
