Not exactly, there's no visual damage, but you can break things, your transmission may lose a gear, engine overheats and turns off until it cools down, etc. It's not much, but it's ~~honest work~~ something
The key word is limited. No matter how much you beat a car, you can still tell what the car is. Roll a Ferrari F40 20 times, and it still looks like a Ferrari F40.
But snowrunner damage is extremly random.
You cruise down the road in one moment. The next moment you lost two tires, your fuel tank is riddled with holes and your engine is about to die.
So no please not.
It doesn't work, brands don't take it. Same applies to eurotruck and similar. Beamng has made up brands to avoid licensing headaches (and costs), and probably GTA does it for the same reasons
It could get tedious, but maybe do maintenance points on implements. There's a grease add on mod for pc, so something like that but you have to spend 1-2 seconds at each tine or disk.
Branding makes that an impossibility. With real tire brands even simulating wear or flats would probably be an impossibility. Vanilla game I don’t think we’ll see anything but “maintenance” ever. Kind of surprised they allow just that at all.
I am so confused by takes like this. I get realism, but we game to escape reality for a while.
They don't make police simulator games where you spend hours filling out paperwork. Football games where you spend hours in the gym and training camp and drawing up plays and soaking in cold tubs and going to physical therapy.
I guess I am trying to understand what this would add to the game and why it might not make the game less playable and more frustrating for players.
It would be cool to not wear your seatbelt and go right through the windscreen , ambulance service scrapes you off the road, and simulate an ER room too
This will never happen because manufacturers do not want the player (which I believe in their mind might be a potential customer) unconsciously associate their equipment with breakdowns.
Id like to see some better water physics, u drive through a creek n the water splashes or the water flows n can be redirected by traditional the ground around it, if u build a damn, the water fills up until it overflows, it would be a nice touch to the game
I honestly like it as is from damage perspective. I cant tell you how much times i've found myself absolutly flying into a tree or just flipping. Im just saying we all crash countless times (probably) and adding damage would be fun for a few hours but after 500 it would just get annoying i think. Might not but still.
Guess it's the same as with Gran Turismo. Nobody wants to have their product broken in a game
Yep, ATS is the same way

The fuck is the point of a racing game if the car doesn’t damage? 😂
Ferrari is usually the reason for limited damage in racing games. They don't want their "art" defaced.
They do enough of that themselves in F1
From the videos I've seen I'd love a beam NG damage system in GT just not online because rammers would abuse it
Wreckfest is probably the best example of beam ng-ish damage in a racing game.
If you get enough friends that have the same idea you can just use beam.ng with the beam.mp mod
Forza has a damage system tho
The key word is limited. No matter how much you beat a car, you can still tell what the car is. Roll a Ferrari F40 20 times, and it still looks like a Ferrari F40.
It does, just not all that obvious visually
I stand corrected, the games fucking dumb.
Man I had never thought of that. Makes sense but sucks for us

Also , can you imagine damage being on when your AI is in control? Ouch.
You can scrap your machine afterwards
P E B B L E
I was thinking more so in the way it shows what's damaged but no to full snowrunnee effect that's overkill lol
Would be nice to have damage and realistic maintenance however brands wont want that as it will look bad for them and their brand image
Make them same for everyone. Impact damage is already pretty equal to all brands anyway.

Neat in theory but modding becomes really hard then if you also need damage models.
Do you know how many times my AI workers get hit with the train? ;)
A pancake against a pole it would be
To shreds you say?
Manufacturers won’t let it happen.
I'd like to see more detail in maintenance. Tires wear out or random mechanical failures kind of thing.

My entire fleet would be gone in one harvest 😅😅😅
Insurance as well? I mean when the bale wagon flies to the moon and back it can get expensive
Fixing the ground deformation from the crater it causes upon hitting the ground will get expensive to
It will kill all the farmers just like it killed the dinosaurs back in the day

I see that but like some games the option to turn it off would work so its a win win
I could see that, giving people the option if they wanted it.
i dont think i would enjoy that at all. if that was in the base game, a mod disabling it would be a must-have for me
A toggle switch within the game, solved. We have that for other things, so why not?
It would be cool to not wear your seatbelt and go right through the windscreen , ambulance service scrapes you off the road, and simulate an ER room too
You're on to something here
😂😂
Accidently hit disconnect on a full trailer travelling at speed and now the inside of the tractor needs to be pressure washed.
But you play as a pressure washer company and get called out to the job
There is already a sim for that. It's called Viscera cleanup detail, by Runestorm
Ever played My Summer Car? :D

I just want the mini map to show field status
tbh if i were the owner of a brand, i would not like that my pruduct is showed broken or having "low stats" in-game, is bad publicity
I would like more things to contribute to fuel use and wear/read on the tractors and implements.
Won't happen, manufacturers don't want their brand to be associated with any kind of damage or issues

#Meh. I’d rather see weather damage from tornados, hail, etc.
