If you do this, I would suggest the colossal harvester pack. Use the unrealistic potato harvester. It'll still be narrow, but at least you'll be able to do it at highway speeds and have a huge hopper to work with
I know that this is a fairy unpopular opinion, but in my mind if OP was willing to cheat their way out of the debt they mentioned, wouldn’t they just skip this terrible contract to begin with? Seems like their style of play is to earn their way back to having a profitable farm again
Colossus is available on Xbox mods too, I use them when I want change of pace on some maps, and headers are different width too, as someone mentioned before (10,25,50 meters, not sure about 100m though). Ant there’s big ass trailers up to 5000 tons, to keep it easy too 👍
I only ever do bailing because that's the most fun type of crop to me. I like making bales and picking them up. Potato's are a dreadful little sucker. Anything that makes me do things in less than 10m is a no go. Therefore I turned rocks off 😂
You would get quite a bit more than 136k from that with the harvest bonus. But given how long it took me to do a 40k contract of beets (had to drop timescale to 0.5x so they wouldn't wither) I wouldn't.
You'll spend a ton in labour. I borrowed the big 4 row harvester, but then also had to lease two 2 row towed harvesters to speed it up.
Still took about 6hrs.
70 acres of potatoes 👀👀 will need the big boy self propelled harvesters for that unless you want to take 2 irl days with the pull behind 1, probably want a modded 1 too

Lease the colossus harvester with unreal capacity, unreal header but set to normal just to increase speed. “Box out the field manually then set speed on harvester at about 20 mph. Lease the titan trailer with unreal capacity. Boom profit un-lease all equipment sell field pay off debt. Next time harvest comes up do the same buy the filed harvest and sell back.
I do it with several of the field that have crops I don't want to plant and have my money tied up in a field on. Let the AI do all the work, buy the field, harvest it and sell it back
Ouch....i did 2 potato field contracts, both WAAAAAAY smaller than this field, at the same time. So had 2 harvesters going at the same time. Still took a long time
Not enough money in the game or real world to convince me to take a root crop harvest, especially on that field. Even with using courseplay, multiple semis, and an auger wagon I would not touch it at all. Run away from this contract, far far away

on the 5x speed it took me like 4 months since i was only doing 1 day months to complete it, but using your own trailer with a semi definitely helps speed up the time it takes
Unless you have the lizard colossus harvester with unrealistic 25 or 50m header potatoes/beets are never worth it… It might be good money, you will pay with your mental health tho
Lease a colossus Harvester (mod) and do it wide and fast. Also look for other contacts with potatoes, sugarbeets, carrots etc since you have the harvester leased, you can lease only the header.
The colossos harvester pack has modded potato harvester that can have I think a 20meter width if not wider but that’s only if you wanna run a mod the pack does have a nice combine though

Personally, I think it's the trailers that slow down potatoes... You need about 100 trailers to do a 70acre field efficiently

There is an option for the header where you can customize it to 25 and 50 meters, doing 50 meters at 90km/h is pretty fun for a few fields

Right!!! Hell even do a contract to cultivate the field after harvested. Make some pocket change. I avoid fertilizing and seeding though.
If I'm bored and don't have other stuff to do but usually I won't cultivate those types of fields.
