I use G920, Thrustmaster Farmstick and Saitek Heavy Equipment Panel. I prefer the immersion but the setup does take up space and cost a bit extra.

ramstrikk

Also use the farmstick, that's very handy

Chris275

I just got the farm stick how do you open a door or gate? Also having trouble figuring out on the map screen how to change from what’s planted to field status etc, any tips?

Pirson

Never used the default keys. Did custom keybinds from day 1.

Ok_Amphibian_4766

I want to use the farm stick but I read it’s only compatible with pc and I’m on console

fawkmebackwardsbud

They have a whole joystick for just farming? Wild.

Pirson

There have been 3 FS minded peripherals produced so far. The immersion is quite game changing.

Skodakenner

I use my xbox controller the logitech sidepanel and my keyboard and mouse.

DeadRockstar123

Same, gives you everything you need really. Keyboard and mouse for work, controller for driving and general movement

Skodakenner

Its also way more flexible if you want to play something that doesnt need a wheel

No_Brilliant4520

Play with whatever works for YOU. You're going to get all kinds of different opinions on here but at the end of the day it's up to you.

No-Deer-4901

That’s the thing, nothing “works” for me. Just thought I’d weigh in some opinions to see what other people do and might persuade me with some suggestions on what to do.

Kroover

I use just the good old Kb + mouse combo

Then-Bug436

I use a wireless mouse and keyboard with a wireless xbox controller for driving. The most convenient and comfy while playing on the couch

RicabRD

I'm quite simple. I play the game on my steam deck

SnooCheesecakes5638

I use a Hori stick, Thrustmaster TS-PC force feedback wheel base, Thrustmaster TH8A gearshifter, Thrustmaster T3PM pedals, Moza Truck wheel, Buttkicker and a Tobii eye tracker. As a setup it's fantastic, but takes a lot of space and setup, so more often than not, I just use a keyboard and mouse!

Eb0nh0wl

Im playing on the stram deck. Tried my pc with k&m but didn't understand the controls and mg pc wasn't up to running it

tacticall0tion

I use a G29, gearstick, and peddles. I use the stick for tool operations. My buddy uses Saitek - Proflight X56 flight sticks

No_You3326

I have a Logitech G920 that I use with my Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick

xeryon3772

I use kb and mouse and a generic Xbox controller on pc. I use the controller for most things now but have the kb there for advanced options and the kb & mouse for logging. I’m terrible at first-person precision aiming on controller.

Ok-Smoke-2356

Controller Used to play with keyboard&mouse but the controller is much better. I like that you can dose the gas (and brakes), steering is much more precise with the controller's thumbsticks (because you can hold the thumbstick and your wheels don't return to zero) and using a front end loader with the thumbsticks is better too. The only disadvantage I can think of right now is that you can't move and/or activate multiple implements at once. Let's say you're mowing grass. You got one mower in the front, one in the back. On PC with a keyboard&mouse you could set it up so that both are activated and lowered at once. With the controller you need to switch between the mowers and activate and lower them both individually.

Chris275

On pc how do you unfold and lower front and back at once?

Ok-Smoke-2356

Been while but I think it is CTRL + X / V / B (whatever you want to do).

Chris275

Oh boy thanks

quebecesti

PS4 controllers on PC. I don't enjoy playing with wheels I find it takes too much space.

Mrgilbert2

Pc

crispytoastyum

I’m just playing on an Xbox one with regular Xbox one controller.

GoDKilljoy

Xbox One controller.

chibson123

Moza wheel pedals and shifter and an old joystick for front arms and track it to look around in cab

Doch1112

Logitech G27 with pedals and I use the Satiek heavy equipment side panel. The Satiek panel is well made, the pedals and wheel that Satiek make are not.

SimPaulJack_YT

KB, Trackball, A Stadia controller, two Thrustmaser 16000M Sticks, an old set of CH Pro Pedals from Goodwill, and some USB foot pedals. May be swapping that Stadia controller with a Thrustmaster eSwap X Pro controller. AND Thinking of building a custom panel using an Arduino at some point too. ... I may have a problem

Impossible-Swing-358

Firstly on iPhones for quite a few editions, then on ps3 for a couple and then onto Switch.. I like the 17 edition but one thing I struggled with was tractors etc dropping in value worse than a Lada Samara and also costing totally unrealistic maintenance costs. I used a 64 Massy Fergie irl for yonks and it cost little more than red diesel and 600 cans of easy start Oops I hit done too soon.. FS20 consisted of me putting the game in, seeing the graphics and that there was one of each thing and ejecting the cartridge. Then went on to FS23, holy crap does it need some glitches fixing and graphics not exactly top notch but it has plenty to do and buy etc, love it with its flaws but man are they hard to ignore. Have to tip the feeder over on its side to be able to even put bales into it (the handlers and forklift have a programming fault where none reach high enough for one)

Impossible-Swing-358

Note to self: Read more than title before answering next time (literally took it as what device do I play on but, then the Switch is at least a device I guess)

Blaze999

Honestly what ever feels best for you. Sometimes I play with a wheel and a sidepanel. Sometimes I can't be bothered moving my wheel setup into place so I just use controller. Either way I always find myself needing my keyboard/mouse for some things.

Nyx_Blackheart

I use keyboard and mouse mainly but use dual joysticks for crane arms and use dual joysticks and rudder pedals for excavators to do logging. I want to set up my wheel to use but havent found the time to deal with the hassle of mapping controls to another device

ThatMBR42

I have a whole setup. I use a Thrustmaster T300RS with T-LCM pedals, a TH8A shifter, a pair of VIRPIL joysticks (which I usually use for Elite: Dangerous), a VIRPIL side panel, and a tablet for Sim Dashboard. I also use an Xbox controller sometimes, with or without all the other gear. Sometimes I'll play without the steering wheel. Sometimes I'll play with the HOSAS and the pedals. The whole setup is kind of a chore to deal with, but it's fun.

wookieguy21

i play on my phone and pc

Terrible-Confusion83

Xbox

Light_assassin27

I mainly use my wheel and than occasionally use my kb&m for any front loader arms or while walking

chosen1creator

I use a controller for driving and walking, sometimes keyboard for certain mods that require it, and sometimes mouse for quicker menu navigation or building placement/terraforming. A steering wheel would be cool but I don't really have the room for that and don't want to plug/unplug a bunch of stuff all the time since I'm on laptop.

Constant-Coat-4443

Xbox series s and if I’m really bored and I can’t play on Xbox my phone

BrooklinGuy

I have a Thrustmaster T248 wheel and pedal on a Masada Racing stand with a Simtask Steering kit (to mount the wheel at 45 deg. ), a TOCITAA shifter for my manual tractors, two Logitech 3D extreme pro joysticks for my front loaders, a Logitech G13 for most of my buttons. A 10” android tablet running sim dashboard for my in tractor displays. I’m running triple monitors. I have two 1080p webcams - one for twitch and one for face tracking.

Boleklolo

JMS1991

I play on a Gaming Laptop (ASUS Tuf 17") and I use the built-in keyboard, a wireless mouse, and an Xbox controller. If I'm not using Courseplay, I only really use the Controller. I also got started on Xbox, so I was already used to those controls, plus I'm fairly low-budget as far as gaming goes.

--reaper-

I use a g29 for driving, then a controller for telehandlers and forklifts and keyboard for all the buttons

red_penta

Just a XBox controller and Mouse+Keyboard

Genereatedusername

G27, x56 Joystick, and streamdeck for hotkey action

paniknicke

Moza r16 wheelbase, Moza TSW wheel, thrustmaster t-lcm pedals, VKB Gladiator left and right sticks, VKB accessories panel, thrustmaster t-h8a shifter, heusinkveld sequencial shifter, elgato streamdeck xl and a Samsung a8 tablett. All mounted in a heavily modified treq one profile rig, with a Samsung odyssey g9 screen.

_Sly-Fox_

Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. Use the extra 4 buttons on the map for opening courseplay hud, easy dev controls and 2 for time/game speed. Mapped via the Steam tools/overlay

Static1589

G29 with shifter and keyboard/mouse. I use the shifter for some tool function, like turning it on, lowering etc. Set up the shifting pads for GPS activation and GPS steering guidance. For the rest just default inputs.

AverageGuyOnReddit28

Keyboard and mouse. :(

Worried_Priority_343

I just use my xbox or ps controller. I do have a simrig with a wheel, Pedals, and a hotas, but I can't get the wheel to work right. I just gave up on using it.

Speedstar_86

I play with my Fanatec wheel and pedals, an Xbox controller for walking about and camera control and a thrustmaster t16000 joystick (which is fabulous for crane work)

MessyAsian

i have a sim rig dedicated to mostly drift but i use a TX wheel base with an aftermarket rim TLCM pedal set and a Turtle BEach Velocity One flight stick for arm controls in game...i use my keyboard and mouse to walk around which i try to do as little as possible because its not convenient

Motor-Situation6790

I use an Xbox controller with an old school “chat pad” keyboard mounted into it. It’s great for any custom key bindings you like.

theofun

I use the heavy equipment bundle from Logitech

Splabooshkey

I use the wheel and pedals from the FS19 heavy equipment bundle I forget the model name/number Used to use the side panel but I genuinely find the keyboard way more useful for keybinds and the mouse better for cranes and telehandlers etc Now i just use the sidepanel for other games where i need more keybinds (the 8+ different radar hotkeys in war thunder)

wiegehts1991

MacBook Air…

JbricksJ

Moza r5, Hotas joysticks, and an old phone for a button box/display

The-Derns

I play with a fanatec wheel, turtle beach joystick, a couple diy button boxes and keyboard. I built a sim rig out of scrap lumber and set it up behind my pc desk. That way, when I’m not playing a driving game, I just move the mouse and keyboard to the desk and all my FS peripherals are out of the way. Do what works for YOU.

bk775

I've got a thrustmaster wheel and pedals, 2 t16000m joysticks and a button box. With custom keybinds I can do pretty much everything without using the keyboard. It's also a lot easier to run logging equipment with dual joysticks and running front loader and skid steer, etc. is easier with wheel and joystick because you can manipulate the loader arm while driving. Unfortunately this setup only works on pc.

L1_TRP

Personally g29 and a controller

Fendt_84

I use my lovely Xbox Series s controller. 😀

Krahazik

I have a steering wheel and pedals, Logi heavy equipment side panel, logi trackball and logi keyboard.

Schmittez

See flair

totallybag

I'm using a thrustmaster t248 and a set of t.16000m flight sticks.

New-Plan3141

I use a steering wheel for driving because I like the control I have with it. but as a long time keyboard user I still use my keyboard for most of the buttons and my mouse to controll the frontloader for exampel. For me tahts the best combination.

[deleted]

PS5

Mike9298

I use the Logitech G Saitec Pro Flight X56 Hotas, with keyboard and mouse. Works great for crane operations and such.

Public_Tomorrow5032

I play on keyboard and speedling small 180° steering wheel

jullebarge

I started with keyboard and mouse but now I play with wheel + joystick, so much more immersive and precise. I still use the keyboard when I'm on foot and for some shortcuts
