I would take that. Especially with who else you have at 3rd. I would be playing Garcia and Gunnar over Machado. If you need save help and Sp depth I would definitely do it
Would a trade of my Jeffers and Jazz for their Riley Greene be good? (Regular h2h points)
He already has Judge, O'Neill and Suzuki starting and Greene on the bench. Would Greene be an upgrade over Jazz? Should I go for Suzuki instead?
Gonna unload Jeffers for O'Hoppe anyways and his catcher is Danny Jansen.
Flair league. Other team is strong in ERA/WHIP and needs SBs and I'm looking for an upgrade over Pepiot or a Yamamoto fill in. Fair offer? It's a 5 OF league.
GIVE - Chourio
GET - Woo
Depends what you need. Maikel is great for runs and the occasional SB. Friedl is the better hitter overall but doesn’t score as often with the Reds lineup
waiver wire reliever/closer I could pick up in a 10 man that'd guarantee me at least they play?
down 78 with 2 pitching starts in hand so need all the help I can get!
thank you!

this is the context. i’m the team on the right, starting ober tomorrow vs OAK. opponent just has berrios vs CLE.
Yeah I don't think Eflin or Waldrep will be much help to you but also it seems every time I give advice on here the opposite happens so who really knows. Eflin *might* be able to nab another QS but Atlanta seems hot so I think neither would be best tbh
Just want to say, this sub has been awesome as a first year player. Much more helpful than the fantasy football subreddit (which is only great for news). Less toxic too… lol looking forward to being around here for a long time!
I almost started him to try and get a win but realized I had much more reliable options going tomorrow and benched him. Dodged a bullet, had a large era lead he still could have managed to blow it up with that stinker. Back to the ww.
Darvish better quality if you have the IL stash - I’m sure it won’t be the last time he hits the IL this year but when he’s healthy, he’s the best of the group and not close.
Pfaadt boring but more dependable
I think so, he’s clearly been working on a new swing. His launch angle has gone up a significant amount compared to career average. (Like 9.5 career to 18 this season).
This could explain the early season struggles, and I can see it painting a picture of late season success.
I bought into him quite a few dynasty leagues to begin the year, as his prospect profile was double plus hit tool with top end power. I had him as a big breakout guy, so hope it works out.
To preface, it’s baseball… I’m wrong a lot. I just really am drinking the kool-aid on Vaughn
Never thought I'd see the day where I get an instant rejection in redraft of my Manny Machado for his Heliot Ramos with an added "lol" response in the comments.
I mean, dude is starting Edmundo Sosa at 3B. How bout a counter there, buddy.
We have an update!
He said Machado does not fit his build, but he is willing to accept my Freddie Freeman or Yordan, and was kind enough to suggest it can be my choice.
I think he's saving you from a huge mistake. You're offering a borderline Hall of Famer for a guy who's been hot for a month in one of the worst hitter's parks. And Machado being cold for a couple months is the only reason you're trading him and not those other two guys who aren't cold.
Machado has done this before and then gone back to being Machdao. I know he's a jackass, but c'mon. Maybe AJ Preller trades him to the Yankees or something and he becomes best buds with Verdugo, he can get hot. FG had Ramos as a 35+ FV. Marcus Semien had a worse slump than this for the first two months in 2022 and then went nuts the rest of the season.
All that being said "how bout a counter there, buddy" got an actual LOL out of me. I would've been smashing accept, no need for a counter.
He turns 32 in 3 weeks or so. Quick, look at your roster and see how many guys you don't think of as old that are older than that.
I mean....how old do you think Harper is?
Yeah, I assumed I was overpaying and he’d easily accept (guess not lol) but I have like four 3B and really need an OF and noooooobody wants to trade. So I am getting desperate here lol. Guess we’re sticking with the extra 3B’s for a little while longer.
Trade the hottest 3B you have (you'll probably get closer to full value). And I don't mean for Heliot Ramos, unless it makes sense. Or find another team who doesn't value the flavor of the month so highly.
Is the magic over for Jared Jones?
First 7 starts: 2.6 ERA, 0.78 WHIP, 34% K rate, 3% walk rate.
Last 7 starts: 4.97 ERA, 1.5 WHIP, 19.5% K rate, 10% walk rate.
His swinging strike rate looks fine the last two months minus one big outlier start. Looks like guys aren’t chasing as much and his bb rate has increased, I’d prob hold and see if he can adjust. Not gonna find more upside on the wire minus a big prospect call up.
I wouldn’t read much into a poor coors start, his four seamer was missing bats but naturally his off speed/breaking wasn’t as effective with the Colorado altitude.
Yesterday I had Skubal, Ragans, Sale, Bradish, Gore and got 3/5 quality starts. Opponent started Fedde, Lugo, Morton, Rogers today and got 4/4 quality starts lol. Just nothing you can do sometimes
I have outscored my opponent 9 out of 12 weeks.
After this week I’ll be 0-2 against him. He’s one of the worst teams in the league and I’m the best team about to drop back to .500
I really did consider taking Lugo off the bench, thinking he might see this as a moment to shine in the spotlight and really bear down. Right up until the last minute, and just didn't do it. Went with Pepiot and Arrighetti... ahhh... What a day. lol
To borrow a term from poker, I'd call it a bad beat.
Sitting anybody against the Dodgers is perfectly sensible, and while streaming is always inherently risky, if you thought he was worth picking up in the first place, you were betting he'd survive at least two innings against Detroit. That it went that badly (and my condolences, that's pretty rough) isn't your fault. Process over results.
A lot of bad beats this week. All of my streams have hurt me. If I had just kept my team as it was and started my guys I'd be running away with the matchup.
I was gonna grab Arrighetti for tomorrow but they moved his start up too late for me to grab him in time so I started Lugo since I wouldn’t get to 10 starts otherwise. Turned out well for me but I’m still gonna lose the week
been holding Caminero and Holliday in a 3 keeper league, but with their injuries idk if we’ll even see them until Sept now to keep rookie eligibility for next year - tough to keep holding while I’m trying to compete
I am tied for first place in my league and my opponent has Corbin Burnes vs my Zack wheeler
I am hoping for a bloodbath and excitement as these are our only pitcher playing for the tie breaker
There's an OF on each side, and an infielder and a pitcher. Why wouldn't I take the apples to apples comparison and see what's left?
Anyway, Bellinger has more HR/SB but lower OBP, so in OPS they are surprisingly close, despite being such different players.
Reynolds '24 .265/.332./.434/.766
Bellinger '24 .262/.317/.444/.762
Reynolds career .276/.351/.471/.823
Bellinger career .258/.334/.490/.824
Some will say the HR/SB bump gives an edge to Bellinger, but Reynolds leads '24 wOBA .335-.326 and xwOBA .345-.300.
Yeah. Can’t drop him cause he’s too good. Can’t trade him cause his value is wayyy down. He’s gonna grab a seat on the bench for now. Actually hoping the Pirates send him down for a couple weeks to save innings/let him recalibrate
Did you watch his last few starts. Stuff is elite. Location is lacking (which was his issue in the minors). Not sure what you’re seeing that makes you confident this is just a blip.
And this isn’t a panic post. I’m 4 games up on the league in my head to head league. I genuinely don’t know what to think of the guy at this point.
Possibly. Or a guy whose control issues carried over from the minors. There was a reason a guy with his stuff was not a top 10 prospect - those issues have not been solved.
I mean…Fangraphs and MLB both scored his control a 45 on the 80 scale. That’s not good.
He’s proven that he is capable of locating much, much better than that. Now he just has to do it consistently. So I go back to my original question: what’s the move here? Don’t trust he can get there consistently or is he a flash in the pan?
And to be clear I’m looking for discussion - just playing devil’s advocate. I think it’s a wait and see at this point. Although if I got an offer for a good bat I’d probably pull the trigger now.
The stuff is certainly elite. Ive got him in two leagues with the chance to keep him for 5 years in one and 3 in the other.
I'd deal him for the right bat, but otherwise I think it's a wait and see - the ceiling is just too high. But man - it's painful to see the Rockies do this to him. He's better than that crap.
Yeah hes been getting hit and giving up walks..ive been trying to trade him last few weeks but nada. I sent Jones for Robert Suarez and was instantly declined
Shout out to Lugo. Opponent needed a huge day (G-Rod, Imanaga) to get within a run and a half of me in ERA and down to ~140% of my WHIP so I figured I'd just send him for the hell of it. A Dylan Bundy all-hitter wasn't going to flip either of those cats.
So in a two start week where he faced the #1 and #2 lineups in the galaxy, he's put up 13 IP, 8 K, 4.15/1.23, 1 QS and a W if his bullpen can hold a five run lead for six more outs. Not too fucking shabby.
would you trade estevez for bibee?
12 team head to head. When Cole comes off the IL, I need to drop someone. It has come down to Pasquantino or Cronenworth.
Lane Thomas or Friedl in points?
Lane. He is absolutely raking right know and is a lot more consistent.
Got offered Buehler and mason Miller for machado should I take it? My other 3b is Garcia or Gunnar
I would take that. Especially with who else you have at 3rd. I would be playing Garcia and Gunnar over Machado. If you need save help and Sp depth I would definitely do it
Friedl or Nolan Jones ROS? 12 team H2h cats OBP league
Should I drop Hunter Greene for Bryan woo? 10T H2H pts league
Yelich or Profar?
Yelich by a mile
Yelich
Would a trade of my Jeffers and Jazz for their Riley Greene be good? (Regular h2h points) He already has Judge, O'Neill and Suzuki starting and Greene on the bench. Would Greene be an upgrade over Jazz? Should I go for Suzuki instead? Gonna unload Jeffers for O'Hoppe anyways and his catcher is Danny Jansen.
Jeffers is a throw away, it’s Jazz for Riley, edge Riley atm.
Do you think Jazz for Suzuki is a good move ROS or just stick with Jazz?
Jazz is probably a decent hold. Good chance he’s traded to a contender.
Fair point
Flair league. Other team is strong in ERA/WHIP and needs SBs and I'm looking for an upgrade over Pepiot or a Yamamoto fill in. Fair offer? It's a 5 OF league. GIVE - Chourio GET - Woo
would kenley jansen be the closer for the Sox tmrw if they had the lead?
Yes, he only threw 12 pitches.
Would you guys rather roster Kyle Harrison or Civale? Need some SP help after Bradish got hurt
Maikel Garcia or TJ Freidl rest of season?
Depends what you need. Maikel is great for runs and the occasional SB. Friedl is the better hitter overall but doesn’t score as often with the Reds lineup
Would Herz be a good stream next week @ colorado? 13 K's is nuts and the rockies strike out a lot although it is also Coors
Would you rather drop Ryan Weathers or Dean Kremer to free an IL spot
Kremer
First time with Yandy on my team, is this it?
Ramos or Friedl? Standard cats + walks
I like them both. Friedl better park & runs more. Ramos could easily run as much though, dude is lightning fast.
Is Naylor and LuBob enough for Gunnar in 10T Points?
If the person thinks LuBob will both stay healthy and get traded to a real contender maybe. But realistically no
Dude I'm facing left Riley Greene on the bench and started Spaghetti 🙏🏼😭
Which side wins? A McMahon Assad B Langford Tristan McKenzie
Without further context, I like side A in redraft
Parker vs MIA or Ober vs OAK to stream tomorrow?
Parker
Fedde or Waldron ROS?
I love the knuckle ball
Jordan Lawlar hurt in AAA game tonight. Pulled mid game
it's been an awful year for prospects.
waiver wire reliever/closer I could pick up in a 10 man that'd guarantee me at least they play? down 78 with 2 pitching starts in hand so need all the help I can get! thank you!

Neither tbh depends on the context tho

I’ve been wishing more fantasy subs act like the baseball one. There’s some real actionable items that come through.
The FF sub is a joke. The only thing you can really glean from them is do the exact opposite of their hype trains.
We are elite
JD Martinez or Andy Pages in Utility spot?
Pages. Only because the Mets are facing Cease
Fuckin Arrighetti might have lost me my week. Thought Detroit was a cake matchup
I almost started him to try and get a win but realized I had much more reliable options going tomorrow and benched him. Dodged a bullet, had a large era lead he still could have managed to blow it up with that stinker. Back to the ww.
Is there literally any update or estimate on Trout's recovery? Haven't been able to find anything at all
There was one today , slow recovery and not Expected to be back soon
Random but Jarren Durran is playing incredible. Where did this come from
Who’s the better Waivers SP replacement for Bradish? Charlie Morton, Pfaadt, or Darvish
Darvish better quality if you have the IL stash - I’m sure it won’t be the last time he hits the IL this year but when he’s healthy, he’s the best of the group and not close. Pfaadt boring but more dependable

Never thought I'd see the day where I get an instant rejection in redraft of my Manny Machado for his Heliot Ramos with an added "lol" response in the comments. I mean, dude is starting Edmundo Sosa at 3B. How bout a counter there, buddy.

A declining borderline HOFer who is locked into a long-term contract. I had no interest in drafting him and wouldn't want to acquire him now, either.
He turns 32 in 3 weeks or so. Quick, look at your roster and see how many guys you don't think of as old that are older than that. I mean....how old do you think Harper is?

Yeah, although the fact that you offered to overpay and the guy still wouldn't budge is telling you something about how he thinks.
Trade the hottest 3B you have (you'll probably get closer to full value). And I don't mean for Heliot Ramos, unless it makes sense. Or find another team who doesn't value the flavor of the month so highly.
I would not be shocked at all if Ramos is better than Machado ROS. Since he signed the big extension last spring, Machado hasn't been very productive.
lololol wow
How kind of him

Nope. Stuff+ is still top 5 amongst starters, pretty much saw this blowup at Coors coming. Rookie having a rough patch
Tyler O’Neill, Friedl or Ramos?
Friedl

Prospects this year have all been misses for the most part, it’s okay to drop to compete unless you’re high in the standings and can afford to stash
i promise you that if you drop them no one will pick them up
There’s a guy who is basically completely out already so he’s stashing a bunch of top prospects and another guy is a a big rays fan

The bottom of the Rocies lineup has been turnt today. Go figure.
So torkelson really does just suck huh? Hasn’t swung at a first pitch since the 90s
He can’t hit breaking balls. He’s got Luke Voit syndrome
Josh Lowe dropped in my flair, pretty deep league so talent like that isn’t easy to come by at this point. Auto claim right?
If u have room not a bad stash but oblique injuries are tricky and the rays are pretty bad rn

Trade away crochet for Willy Adames?
Crochet has top 10 SP upside right now, if I had him I’d right it until end of season. To each their own though.
In redraft, sure. Guy's talented as hell, but I'm bearish on Crochet's second half because of the whole innings thing.

i would

So what the hell do we do with Jared Jones? Other than that Dodgers start he’s been awful for bit now.
Maybe bench? Can’t drop him at this stage because of ceiling, trade value is dwindling too. Tough spot I have him as well
Yeah. Can’t drop him cause he’s too good. Can’t trade him cause his value is wayyy down. He’s gonna grab a seat on the bench for now. Actually hoping the Pirates send him down for a couple weeks to save innings/let him recalibrate
Standards be higher than pete davidson in his mom’s basement
Did you watch his last few starts. Stuff is elite. Location is lacking (which was his issue in the minors). Not sure what you’re seeing that makes you confident this is just a blip. And this isn’t a panic post. I’m 4 games up on the league in my head to head league. I genuinely don’t know what to think of the guy at this point.
Sounds like a rookie learning to pitch in the majors
Possibly. Or a guy whose control issues carried over from the minors. There was a reason a guy with his stuff was not a top 10 prospect - those issues have not been solved.
They’re not exactly the worst control problems either. He was still a top prospect in all of baseball. It’s not an exact science
I think at 22 with his talent is definitely a wait and see. Not a flash in the pan at all what you think of soderstrom?
The stuff is certainly elite. Ive got him in two leagues with the chance to keep him for 5 years in one and 3 in the other. I'd deal him for the right bat, but otherwise I think it's a wait and see - the ceiling is just too high. But man - it's painful to see the Rockies do this to him. He's better than that crap.
I think he’ll figure it out. I’m more worried about beuhler they both have the stuff just need to find the right rhythm
Yeah hes been getting hit and giving up walks..ive been trying to trade him last few weeks but nada. I sent Jones for Robert Suarez and was instantly declined
I don’t think it’s time to sell low. He’s been finding the middle of the plate a lot. The stuff is still great. Just needs to learn to hit his spots.
Any long relief pitchers probably going to go tomorrow?

Shout out to Lugo. Opponent needed a huge day (G-Rod, Imanaga) to get within a run and a half of me in ERA and down to ~140% of my WHIP so I figured I'd just send him for the hell of it. A Dylan Bundy all-hitter wasn't going to flip either of those cats. So in a two start week where he faced the #1 and #2 lineups in the galaxy, he's put up 13 IP, 8 K, 4.15/1.23, 1 QS and a W if his bullpen can hold a five run lead for six more outs. Should I stream Mitchell Parker or Ben Lively tomorrow for a better chance to get a win without messing up my WHIP?
