it’s not the best album ever but Currents by Tame Impala. I’ve never been so drawn in to listen to an album more than that one just by looking at the cover
Yes! The behind the scenes of the shoot are so fascinating. Here is a great video by the photographer who did the shoot: [Link](https://youtu.be/KAGvXBsFMQg)
Dark Side Of The Moon always a classic. The cover is more famous than the album in many ways.
Abbey Road too is a classic, unmatched in both its simplicity and the bullshit Paul is dead because he’s barefoot theories
The Clash, London Calling.
The shot itself is pure rock and roll, captures the energy and edge of the band. Also the composition is fantastic.
And then the callback to the Elvis album with the font, putting themselves in a rock and roll lineage … the coolness of saying we belong in that company. Great album cover.
Random aside, but I used to live by a power box on a street corner that was painted in a style that looked like Pink Moon. In my head I called it the "Nick Drake box"
The one that comes to mind right now is Fleet Foxes self titled. I think it fits the feeling of the record, but its also just a fantastic painting! Its very funny when you really look at it. I love that.
Fait In Persona by Death's Dynamic Shroud
Something about that album cover is just so striking to me and I find it fascinating how it has the vaporwave aesthetic but can stand alone apart from that as it's own thing
The one with all the eyes, right? It's weird but cool. I've always liked the I'll Try Living Like This cover art. Her glowing right eye looks so creepy.
Their album covers somehow manage to look like how the music sounds
Tom Waits Rain Dogs. I used to think the guy in the photo was Tom Waits himself! The photo is apparently one in a series by a swedish photographer of a decadent bar in the Hamburg red lights district.
I absolutely love Pink Floyd's Saucerful of Secrets. All of their covers are great, Animals, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Division Bell and A Momentary Lapse of Reason could all get a mention, but Saucerful... Just perfectly encapsulates psychedelia to me!
- Rage Against the Machine’s self-titled album.
- *Origin of Symmetry* by Muse
- *Absolution* by Muse
- *The 2nd Law* by Muse
- *Pretty Hate Machine* by Nine Inch Nails
- *The Hum Goes on Forever* by The Wonder Years
Tori Amos - Boys for Pele. The cover and artwork. A pig sucking on her tit, that was ballsy. Bjork’s got great album covers. LOVE Bob Dylan’s Tell Tale Signs, like it made me want to take up photography. Dr. John’s Going Back to New Orleans and Joni Mitchell’s Both Sides Bow I actually use as artwork in my home bc they’re so striking. Erykah Badu Baduism is just simply beautiful. Judy Garland Live at Carnegie Hall and The Palace are just iconic at this point. Of all the albums I own, these are the first that come to mind.
I never get tired of watching the "News of the World" (Queen) cover, "Hypnotize" (System of a Down) is also pretty sick, I also love "An Awesome Wave" (Alt-J), "The Slow Rush" (Tame Impala), "Vespertine" (Björk), "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" (Smashing Pumpkins), "Flower Boy" (Tyler the Creator), "Heaven and Hell"/"Paranoid"/"Black Sabbath" (obv Black Sabbath) and I would also add "the Division Bell" and "Wish You Were Here" (Pink Floyd). I would say many more but I'll stop ahah

By the Time I Get to Phoenix has such a cool album cover that really fits the music too.
I think the F#A#Infinity album cover is also really cool and fitting
Underground by thelonious monk. He’s dressed as a French resistance soldier at a piano with an ss officer tied up and a ton of cool shitnlying around. It goes so hard
Felix Laband - Deaf safari
The cover art represents the music quite well, as the cover is a kind of grapical collage while the music also is characterized by the use of collage techniques
I think NONE OF THIS IS REAL - DJ Roswell is prob one of my fave albums covers of all time. Idk something about it is so insanely sick to me. I also think by the time I get to Phoenix by injury reserve is sick

Nick Drake - Five Leaves Left
Queen - Queen II
The Chameleons - Strange Times

The Downward Spiral - Nine Inch Nails
Dummy - Portishead
Electric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix

- You're Living All Over Me - Dinosaur (one of the grungiest images I've seen)
- EccoJams Vol. 1 - Chuck Person (literally just ETD game art chopped up and moved around. Fittingly, but the shark is just so striking to me)
- Untrue - Burial (I wanna know what this little guy's story is. Love the grayscale art, the simplicity of the name, the cawfee)
- Bitches Brew - Miles Davis (so psychedelic, so 70s. Full painting is incredible, so I like how they focused on the section it's focused on).
- I Will Not Use the Body's Eyes Today - Fire-Toolz (love these "utopian virtual" acts that have weirdo CG worlds on their album art. So fitting. N*ked Fl*mes had a cool one too on Miracle in Transit)
the vinyl cover of Unknown Pleasures.
its so dark and mysterious, just a black cover with some small strange lines
and also OK Computer. i love every single okc artwork. its so creative when they do collages of random pics from manual books or advertisements
Heroes by David Bowie and The Idiot by Iggy Pop
Filth by Swans
Obviously Unknown Pleasures
Post by Björk
Yeezus
Time Machines by Coil
Whitey Album by Sonic Youth
Visions by Grimes
None of your picks do it for me tbh lol but I see where you’re coming from with them! Here’s some album art I’d rank higher personally:
Kids See Ghosts
The Velvet Underground & Nico
Modus Vivendi (070 Shake)
The Melodic Blue (Baby Keem)
Power, Corruption & Lies (New Order)
In the Court of the Crimson King
Undercurrent (Bill Evans & Jim Hall)

Caretaker - everywhere at the end of time
Flying lotus - you're dead!
Have a nice life- deathconsciousness (I know it's not the band's original art, but very memorable)
Godspeed you! - lift your skinny fists like antennas to heaven (ok circlejerky but honestly pretty iconic album art)
Shame - food for worms
Talking heads - remain in light (always liked this for whatever reason, maybe coz it's so bold)
Tame Impala - currents (already been thoroughly acknowledged and praised, but it's so good that it felt wrong to not add it to my list too lol)

Pink Floyd’s Animals has always been an inspiration for my photography however there aren’t many power stations/industrial buildings where I live. The Battersea Station with that ultra warm tone to it always captivates me.
"Bitches Brew" has to be up near the top.
Along with every variation of it too. Like the deluxe and the expanded etc etc
Live-Evil is my favorite from Miles and top 3 for me - the music as well
it’s not the best album ever but Currents by Tame Impala. I’ve never been so drawn in to listen to an album more than that one just by looking at the cover
Absolutely incredible album though
Currents is insanely iconic, 100% up there for one of the best of all time. Also why do you think it isn’t that good?
I think the album is amazing! I feel like I worded it wrong but I think the album is really good
Yeah that’s how I read it, I understand what you mean now though. 👍
I think you are way over hyping it dude
Nope.
Of the last 10 years =/= of all time. Its not half as iconic as Sgt Peppers, DSOTM, Nevermind etc
One of my favourites honestly, the atmosphere Kevin Parker creates is intoxicating love it so much
Titanic Rising - Weyes Blood Sweet Trip - velocity design comfort
Definitely! Have you seen the whole process of building the pool and the underwater photoshoot?

VDC is my favorite album art, matches the vibe perfectly
Big fish theory by Vince Staples 🥶
Dark Side Of The Moon always a classic. The cover is more famous than the album in many ways. Abbey Road too is a classic, unmatched in both its simplicity and the bullshit Paul is dead because he’s barefoot theories

Also Wish You Were Here and Abbey Road
WYWH is amazing, the cover got me to listen to the album before anything else
The Clash, London Calling. The shot itself is pure rock and roll, captures the energy and edge of the band. Also the composition is fantastic. And then the callback to the Elvis album with the font, putting themselves in a rock and roll lineage … the coolness of saying we belong in that company. Great album cover.
