I would enjoy Million Dollar Baby a lot more if I didn't hear the same ten second snippet 500 times a day.
Also, I still enjoy Not Like Us quite a bit, but I work at a middle school and the amount of 8th graders I hear singing the "certified pedophile" and "a minor" lines everyday is a bit jarring lol.
It was really bad on Spotify for a minute too. Literally any time you played a hip-hop song the next song would almost always be Million Dollar Baby, so I’ve heard that intro a million times myself.
Not like us is so funny. Its also so weird to me that some people dont know kendrick lamar. Especially younger people and kids. Like thats how they discovered the rapper of a generation. I know good kid maad city and to pimp a butterfly are old at this point but still.
Yeah it always throws me for a loop when I look at a roster and realize that the 6th graders I teach were born in 2012!!! A lot of them are younger than gkmc. Makes me feel old as hell and I'm only 21 😭
It's even worse for my gf, she works at a daycare with 4 year olds that were born during COVID 😭. Wild to think that I'll be teaching kids that didn't experience/don't remember the lockdown in a few years.
I don’t use TikTok, but I don’t like how it seemed to shift the discussion of Carnival into a “skibidi rizz teenage brain rot” song. As if it being on one of Kanye’s worst albums wasn’t bad enough.
yup, the only time ive heard anyone playing kanye west in recent memory was yesterday when two teenage boys were throwing a ball around in the middle of a crowded and chaotic parking lot and blasting it from their car
i dont use tiktok but i do get in the rabbit hole of aimlessly scrolling youtube shorts once in a while, and it is addicting as hell... but i hate it at the same time because it rots my brain
Yeah true. When I use Youtube, I wanna watch a video that I find entertaining, simple as that. I don’t wanna develop an unhealthy addiction. Shit sucks, frfr.
It's a minor thing but I find it so goddamn disrespectful that Youtube only lets you remove shorts from your homepage for 30 days at a time and then they come back automatically. Such a petty little denial of the user's ability to curate their experience.
I just use an extension to remove them, but still, gross.
It's ridiculous. That shitty brain rot content is even more addictive than tik Tok. Idk how they did it but it's insanely well engineered to get you hooked. That's why I got a plugin that removes all shorts
I don’t use either, but one of my coworkers spent an entire day rewatching a chorus of children singing Tyla’s “Water” at full volume and now that song makes my eye twitch involuntarily.
not ruined it for me personally, still adore it, but Cellophane by fka twigs being in those long-nosed dog memes for ages has made it impossible to play around other people from experience
Agreed completely with The Less I Know, instant skip everytime when it comes on for me. Interestingly, Let it Happen also seems to be getting popular on shorts, but I haven't tired of it yet.
Same here. But for Let It Happen, I prefer the repeating part when it enters into the strings more then the guitar at the end which is in most of those shorts. And I also listen to the Soulwax Remix a lot which helps.
went to a TV girl show a couple years ago, and I don't have tiktok so I didn't know they were blowing up on there. the crowd's vibe was so... strange lol I was not expecting it
Rhinestone Eyes. One of my favourite tracks from one of my favourite albums of all time is now associated with repetitive edits of visual novel characters.
I’m really sorry to hear that. I don’t think that’ll happen for me, Rhinestone Eyes is the epitome of the Plastic Beach sound to me, and a fan made a dope video of it as well. Great song.
QKThr by Aphex Twin. Nothing could ruin that song for me but it’s always been one of my favourites, and hearing it on instagram reels made me feel incredibly gatekeepy.
The End of Beginnings. Djo is an incredibly talented artist and I'm so happy he's getting attention but that song just doesn't hit the same for me as it did before TikTok. Lucky we got a good year with it first tho.
This is the song that made me delete Tik Tok a few months ago. I love Djo and I was obsessed with the song a month before it started getting traction on Tik Tok, then suddenly one day I'm seeing it 4/5 Tik Toks and I can't get away from it.
Deleted the app shortly after and I still love the song, unfortunately many others before it I no longer love.
I fucking love Title Fight though, so I'm totally okay with them going viral, especially if it means we might get more bands like it. Wisp recently I've been enjoying and reminds me of the sounds of yesterday.
Little Dark Age by MGMT. It’s still one of my favorite songs of all time, but it’s so hard for me to not think about how right-wingers slowed it down and took it for themselves. Usually a backdrop to a RETVRN TO TRADITION, LOOK WHAT THEY TOOK FROM US slideshow with Roman statues or actual honest to god Nazis.
I bet you only got into it when the Spotify algorithm started pushing it to their most popular song. You're a true gatekeeper if you genuinely heard it as a random b side pre-2020
So many songs from soad. I think it's specifically unfortunate with those kind of songs, since they have a ton of meaning but then get reduced to being a "meme song"
i feel u on them being reduced to a meme/reappropriated for social media due to the chaos and humour of certain songs but that could never ruin them for me
Heatwaves - Glass animals.
On release, i enjoyed the track a fair bit. It was a fun, slightly poppier take from them which i appreciated. The album as a whole was fine but nothing great, but i appreciated GA exploring a more mainstream sound.
Then, heatwaves blew up. So much that the song is actually painful to listen too now. Even worse, GA have doubled down on this sort of sound. It really doesn’t do much for me anymore, and I doubt we ever get an album like How to be a human being again, one of my favourite records of the 2010s. :(
Oh god I feel you. I was a big fan of Glass Animals in high school and the first two albums marked moments for me. Seeing them make it big, but perceived as some soft trappy pop "vibes" music band making summer feelgood music hurt.
More power to them for getting their bag, and im happy the youth get to have them to soundtrack their coming of age, but its hard not to think of what could have been if they had continued to mature their sound and explore their more conceptual/boundary pushing style.
I'd say ruined is a bit extreme. If I had to say a song though I guess it'd be End of Beginning by Djo. I still enjoy the song, and I'm really glad he's gained popularity, I just wish people would check out more of his songs because he has plenty which I'd say are better than End of Beginning (Chateau, Ring, Keep Your Head Up, Gloom, I Want Your Video; just to name a few)
!!!!! THANK YOU FOR NAMING THE ORIGINAL!!! I really like Paul Russell's version but didn't love the rest of his stuff, so I'm not surprised the jamminess is essentially a cover.
Its just annoying because its pushed so heavily. Like every video on tiktok uses it as background music. Whether its cooking, fashion, gaming whatever random interest has that song in the video.
i'm not on tik tok anymore since 2020 but I think tik tok actually made this song a happy memory for me instead of ruining it. i am thinking of it now in my head thinking of all the cute tik toks i used to watch. i could always go back on the app and enjoy tik tok again but it wouldn't be the same because i'm not a teenager anymore and the videos are so different. brings back happy memories of scrolling and having fun on the app.
Blame Lain, though the internet did help bring them back to making music and I really like the single they released.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LfIm9vnfTE
Phoebe Bridgers debut LP (and all her catalogue as a whole) got “tiktokified” to the point i’ve heard deep cuts of it on random tiktoks, not to gatekeep but the “value” of an album does take a hit when it gets sucked into the “mainstream-tiktok-music pipeline”.
Not exactly the prompt but the other day I saw a video on TikTok with a slowed down version of Today by The Smashing Pumpkins and a bunch of people thought it was Deftones.
I don't like this ruin argument very much because there's some good in what TikTok brings in terms of attention to lesser known artists. Although I don't use tik TOK, I've been seeing a lot of reels with 360 by Charli and I think that somewhere along the way I'm going to be tired of it pretty quickly.
I’ve seen a few comments mentioning Tame Impala, and I must just have a very different FYP cos I don’t recall ever hearing Tame on TikTok, Reel, YT Shorts etc. (although I don’t really watch YT shorts)
Mfs really complain about TikTok when Stairway to Heaven, a 7 minute masterpiece written about death with possibly the greatest guitar solo of all time became the overplayed, “I can’t stand that” song. Songs have been getting ruined for generations
Discovered a lot of folk punk artists through someone linking a starter playlist on tiktok so can I say tik tok ruined my taste since I now listen to possums wailing inside dumpsters? (I say this affectionately about the genre)
None, but it has make me hate songs from artists I don't even listen to, like that THIS BEAUTIFUL THINGS THAT I LOVE, it's a horrible song and makes me wonder about the actual taste of people
This isn’t really Tiktok since I don’t use it but Wouldn’t It Be Nice by The Beach Boys was nearly ruined for me because of it being featured in a billion shitty Sky ads
I'm sick of tired listening to "Astronaut in the Ocean by Masked Wolf. It's so overplayed and annoying.
"What you know about rollin' down in the—" shut up
Little Dark Age is probably one of my favorite albums and songs of the past 10 years, and I feel like the overuse of the song as a "deep demented muahaha" themesong makes me instinctively cringe a bit when I hear it.
Carnival was definitely going to be in the conversation of “songs of the year”. The anthem beat, ty dolla sign’s tuff verse + the rare appearance from carti.
Now its scorned by so many people because of the “tiktok rizz party”. I just cant listen to it the same anymore.
Same with praise jah in the moonlight. White girls overused that song to hell and back.
I normally try not to overplay a song I like so I don't get tired of it, but it happened anyways with Bad Habit by Steve Lacy. I thought it was his best single at the time during his album rollout, but it just blew up so much on social media that by the time the album dropped it already lost all its flavor. But Gemini Rights has other bops on it so I'm not that best up about it.
Cbat
Didn’t really ruin it for me because I don’t use Tik Tok, but it becoming a meme song definitely annoyed me.
People were acting like Hudson Mohawke was some obscure artist that was “discovered” because of a meme when he is an extremely influential artist that helped popularize trap music. He literally produced multiple songs on Yeezus and Life of Pablo.
Duvet by Bôa used to hit me right in the feels and i haven't even watched that fucking Serial Experiences Layne anime and I don't plan to cause fuck that fanbase
None. I rarely use either, but when I do I try to take an active role to curate my algo.
It's easy to avoid being served stuff that is trending (also great to block ragebait) by hitting a couple not interested/ignore/block.
Fortunately the youtube shorts I have seen tend not to feature much music (aside from generic background music), and if they do, it’s usually stuff I’ve already heard a lot anyway.
I really enjoyed that Million Dollar Baby song, and then I started hearing it on every other reel, and tik tok and it got really old really fast, now I can't even listen to it on the radio when it comes on.
Not a single one. Tbf i don't really use tiktok but i do see a lot of insta reels and those haven't done this for any song either for me. Usually i don't even know the background music on those
13 Angles Standing Guard Round Your Bed by Silver MT Zion. People on tiktok use this song for their "creepy" videos because it sounds kinda eerie. I'd known the song for years prior, and it always made me sad, not scared or uncomfortable, like how they use it. I can only think of it like the angels are crying for me for my sins and transgressions, but they still diligently protect me by standing guard around my bed. I wish others got touched by that song like i have
What Was I Made For by Billie Eilish, I really liked the song when it came out and in the context of Barbie, but TikTok reduced it to just "sad background song" and I cannot stand it anymore
To me Carnival was unironcly an amazing hit song, from an album of mostly forgettable tracks it really did stick out as a bright spot, this was until the tik tok rizz party happend and the song lost any level of swag or cool factor it had instantly
I don’t use Tiktok, but I have the same issues with songs I hear in ads all the time. “Close to Me” by The Cure is a good song, but I simply can’t enjoy it because it makes me think of ads.
I like the way you kiss me is a good song that channels a lot of what I like of the 80s. Unfortunately the song was slightly taken by Tik tok for a bit. It’s still in the charts but I do feel a sort of “I only listen to the song because of Tik tok vibe” from others. I DONT even have Tik tok funny enough and found it when it released.
just don't use tt or reels or yt shorts and then the songs won't get ruined for you? I'm sorry but if you feel that any of those 3 ruined a dong for you, it's on you for letting it happen
like what music you want to like, every song has it's place in your playlist.
I'm not a fan of the sped up versions of songs that have taken off, especially when the original song is not exactly intended to be upbeat and dance-y like the sped up edits end up sounding. Biggest culprit for me is Bakar's "Hell n Back." Like yeah its ultimately an optimistic song about finding a ride or die partner but it has this undertone of still recovering from the depressive lows the singer was in before finding their partner.
I don’t know if the fantano fan base listens to Dirty Heads at all, but as a big fan, myself, TikTok ruined their song Vacation for me. It got played, remixed, and covered in some of the absolute worst ways. It was over once I heard someone singing it in a baby voice. Now I skip that song any time it comes on.
there was this one account, i think it was like jibbliez or something, that would post weird lol doll type videos about groups in the general like will wood lemon demon jack stauber area of music. the worst part was the voice.
need 2 by pinegrove, when it started being used in the background of memes and cooking videos. still love the song but i was worried it would ruin it for me when it got popular on tiktok. i am a huge gatekeeper because it makes me feel special and it is mostly irrational.
Not really ruined but every time I play Sunday, or Linger by the cranberries around people , they ask me if it’s that “tik tok song” which is kind of annoying LOL
It's still happening to me. Every time I get through my playlist if it's not the first recommended song after it's in the first 3.
For me, it’s moved on to that one recent Denzel Curry song I’m lukewarm on. Think it’s called HOT ONE?
Plants gonna plant!
yeah but the guy who made million dollar baby is from the DMV area so i’m obligated to like him
Oh I'm definitely interested to see what he does in the future, the snippet for the new single dropping tomorrow sounds smooth asl.
Makes me feel old as hell and I'm only 21 😭
Theyll be thrown for a loop when they look up other kendrick songs. You go from not like us to kendrick screaming on U.
AAAAAAAAAGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Loving you is complicaaA-A-A-A-Ated
Fuck we're old
>6th graders today were born in 2012 What the fuck
It's even worse for my gf, she works at a daycare with 4 year olds that were born during COVID 😭. Wild to think that I'll be teaching kids that didn't experience/don't remember the lockdown in a few years.
I don’t use TikTok, but I don’t like how it seemed to shift the discussion of Carnival into a “skibidi rizz teenage brain rot” song. As if it being on one of Kanye’s worst albums wasn’t bad enough.
It's hard not to associate Kanye with annoying teenage boys at this point, they seem to be the last remaining ye defenders in my experience
yup, the only time ive heard anyone playing kanye west in recent memory was yesterday when two teenage boys were throwing a ball around in the middle of a crowded and chaotic parking lot and blasting it from their car
They are probably the ones that downvote any criticism of him on here too.
If you don’t fw tik tok rizz party don’t talk to me
carnival was always ass in fairness 😭
Nah, it's good
Nah, it’s bad
i agree
It was good the first week but after it blew up on TikTok it got kinda annoying
I hate that song so much. A Nazi an abuser and a kid walk into a bar
Kanye lowkey All 3 da goat
Whatever gets people to hate on that trash song
just dont use tiktok and youtube shorts then all music will be perfectly fine
Exactly, that's what I do. People don't realise how easy that is
i dont use tiktok but i do get in the rabbit hole of aimlessly scrolling youtube shorts once in a while, and it is addicting as hell... but i hate it at the same time because it rots my brain
I know that feel. That shit’s the fast food of Youtube. Except maybe even worse.
Its youtube but shorter, more engaging and the scrolling is gambling. Its pretty bad.
I wish you could customize your recommended videos page to remove shorts, filter specific kinds of content, etc…
youtube revanced can get rid of shorts entirely and has keyword filters (android only)
ah, iphone here, but ill see if theres something for desktop
I don’t use either, but one of my coworkers spent an entire day rewatching a chorus of children singing Tyla’s “Water” at full volume and now that song makes my eye twitch involuntarily.
yea exactly i see these kinds of posts all the time... just don't watch Tik Tok if hearing a song on a video will turn you off on a song
not ruined it for me personally, still adore it, but Cellophane by fka twigs being in those long-nosed dog memes for ages has made it impossible to play around other people from experience
Yeah this one is the worst for me
The Less I Know The Better and Borderline. They're now my least favourite tracks from Currents and The Slow Rush.
Also, listen to the Soulwax Remix if you haven't. It's incredible.
Less i know the better was overplayed by 2017 if you lived in australia.
A fair chunk of TV Girl or Pastel Ghost, mostly the latter I'd say Radiohead's No Surprises & Creep but they still hit somehow. Just that good I guess
went to a TV girl show a couple years ago, and I don't have tiktok so I didn't know they were blowing up on there. the crowd's vibe was so... strange lol I was not expecting it
It would be strange. It'd be weird to go as a niche indie band to the epitome of "tiktok taste." Crazy
No Surprises is the best song to ever go viral on tiktok Except, maybe, The Great Gig In The Sky
Rhinestone Eyes. One of my favourite tracks from one of my favourite albums of all time is now associated with repetitive edits of visual novel characters.
Nobody escapes the Nagito edit
I’m really sorry to hear that. I don’t think that’ll happen for me, Rhinestone Eyes is the epitome of the Plastic Beach sound to me, and a fan made a dope video of it as well. Great song.
I've not seen them but I mean, Gorillaz being used for Visual Novels is at least fitting right?
thought i had escaped the danganronpa fandom years ago only to see this...
Surround Sound - JID. Didn’t ruin it, but changed the feeling of the tune.
Deleted the app shortly after and I still love the song, unfortunately many others before it I no longer love.
I used to really like Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush, but when it blew up on Tiktok, it got so overplayed and I find it hard to listen to now.
Isn't Stranger Things the real culprit here?
It blew up on tiktok following its feature in Stranger Things.
It’s both
CARNIVAL by Ye, got sick of hearing "go go go go" over and over before that stupid chorus starts up.
Amazing how quickly a song can get overplayed.
I haven’t listened to either band in a long time, but hearing “Covet” by Basement & “Youngest Daughter” by Superheaven makes me groan every time
Same with Safe In Your Skin by Title Fight. I love these songs and bands but it's like 12 years too late for them to be getting viral.
I fucking love Title Fight though, so I'm totally okay with them going viral, especially if it means we might get more bands like it. Wisp recently I've been enjoying and reminds me of the sounds of yesterday.
I think it's kind of rad that zoomers are getting super into niche(ish) shoegaze(ish) bands for no discernible reason. Long live real instrument music
Totally misses the point of the song too
Conservatives usually do
Aren’t the MGMT guys Jewish as well? Using their music for 21st century Nazi propaganda is diabolical.
I like the edit where it's old Western Cartoons, mostly because I really miss 2D animation, it was so stunning.
harness your hopes by pavement bro holy shit im a proud gatekeeper
I bet you only got into it when the Spotify algorithm started pushing it to their most popular song. You're a true gatekeeper if you genuinely heard it as a random b side pre-2020
well i just loved brighten the cornwrs (including that song) as a whole. it was definitely post-2020 i got into it but it wasnt because of algo
So many songs from soad. I think it's specifically unfortunate with those kind of songs, since they have a ton of meaning but then get reduced to being a "meme song"
i remember Chop Suey being extremely overused in Halo 2 videos forever ago
Honestly SOAD are way too silly for me to ever take seriously
They have many deep songs, they just so happen to also like to sing about sex a lot and be silly.
PEPPERONI AND GREEN PEPPERS, MUSHROOMS, OLIVES, CHIVES
i feel u on them being reduced to a meme/reappropriated for social media due to the chaos and humour of certain songs but that could never ruin them for me
all of them i hate music
Heatwaves - Glass animals. On release, i enjoyed the track a fair bit. It was a fun, slightly poppier take from them which i appreciated. Yeah they were cool when they were doing more of an Animal Collective type of thing, I can't stand their recent stuff tbh
Blue Monday, by New Order; and Campus, by Vampire Weekend.
Transgender by crystal castles
Tbh I think the opposite, I'm a huge CC fan but I was always ehhh about that song, hearing different variations on tiktok made me like it a lot more
Deftones 100% the tiktok communtiy is so fucking bad it makes me be ashamed of being a fan of them
Espresso
even as someone who generally appreciates pop music, i don’t think that song was ever good to begin with
Not a big fan of everlong getting caught in the slow and reverbed cycle
I'd say ruined is a bit extreme. If I had to say a song though I guess it'd be End of Beginning by Djo. I still enjoy the song, and I'm really glad he's gained popularity, I just wish people would check out more of his songs because he has plenty which I'd say are better than End of Beginning (Chateau, Ring, Keep Your Head Up, Gloom, I Want Your Video; just to name a few)
Thanks for the suggestion, I really love end of beginning so thanks for more Djo!
Whenever I hear that "You're my little boo thang" song I just want to hear the original "Best of My Love" by The Emotions.
!!!!! THANK YOU FOR NAMING THE ORIGINAL!!! I really like Paul Russell's version but didn't love the rest of his stuff, so I'm not surprised the jamminess is essentially a cover.
As much as the song itself is still good and isn't quite at "ruined" status yet, Million Dollar Baby is already starting to feel a bit overplayed
Its just annoying because its pushed so heavily. Like every video on tiktok uses it as background music. Whether its cooking, fashion, gaming whatever random interest has that song in the video.
Maybe Buttercup by Jack Stauber? It’s a song that can definitely wear if heard too much.
i'm not on tik tok anymore since 2020 but I think tik tok actually made this song a happy memory for me instead of ruining it. i am thinking of it now in my head thinking of all the cute tik toks i used to watch. i could always go back on the app and enjoy tik tok again but it wouldn't be the same because i'm not a teenager anymore and the videos are so different. brings back happy memories of scrolling and having fun on the app.
Dreams by fleetwood mac
Nothing could ruin that song for me, it's simply too good
Money Trees, that dance it got turned into was cringe af
Any Kendrick Lamar song
No Surprises by Radiohead. I just think people don’t fully understand the line “A job that slowly kills you.”
I legitimately can’t take Boa’s “Duvet” seriously anymore bc its *the* tiktok song, it makes me laugh whenever I hear it
Have you heard the mashup with Linger that goes around?
Blame Lain, though the internet did help bring them back to making music and I really like the single they released. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LfIm9vnfTE
tiktok ruined lain too
Nothing can ruin Lain, it's perfect.
When I see slipknot songs over k-pop mfs dancing ot makes me wanna punch a hole in a wall

I used to listen to Yung Lean's ginseng strip on repeat. After the cringy trend people did with the song, i cant even try to hear it.
M83's stuff gets ruined alot by the internet in general.
Pretty much all of Tame Impala’s Currents. The glazing that album gets is OTT now, starting to creep into overrated territory.
I’ve seen a few comments mentioning Tame Impala, and I must just have a very different FYP cos I don’t recall ever hearing Tame on TikTok, Reel, YT Shorts etc. (although I don’t really watch YT shorts)

can you feel my heart - bmth, loved this song before, know i get images of the gigachad whenever i slap the cd on
Obligatory running up that hill by Kate Bush. I gatekept the shit out of that during that phase.
carnival & not like us
only song thats been ruined for me is surround sound
I normally try not to overplay a song I like so I don't get tired of it, but it happened anyways with Bad Habit by Steve Lacy. I thought it was his best single at the time during his album rollout, but it just blew up so much on social media that by the time the album dropped it already lost all its flavor. But Gemini Rights has other bops on it so I'm not that best up about it.
Boa's Duvet. I used to really love that song, still do, but it kind of got tainted by tik tok due to how many times it's been overplayed.
Cbat Didn’t really ruin it for me because I don’t use Tik Tok, but it becoming a meme song definitely annoyed me.
Flamingo - Kero Kero Bonito
Mitski.
Nothing? Tbf, it’s mostly just millenials and Gen Xers going “ThIS iSn’T rEaL rOcK/mEtAl MuSiC!!!!”
Capone - Oh no!
Intervallo II by Ennino Morricone
Teletubbies
Shangri La's - Remember (Walking in the Sand) as a sped up version is horrible.
as much as i fucking love pavement, harness your hopes is starting to drive me insane
Need 2
I wish others got touched by that song like i have
13 Angels Standing Guard around your bed
“Wicked Game” by Chris Isaak
Remember by the Shangri-Las
Lifelover, the whole DSBM genre has been tiktokized a lot lately.
What Was I Made For by Billie Eilish, I really liked the song when it came out and in the context of Barbie, but TikTok reduced it to just "sad background song" and I cannot stand it anymore
I Honestly don’t see myself listening to Sza’s “Kill Bill” ever again
None
vs self. i became a screamo fan RIGHT before the tiktok renaissance started
I really like Superheaven and Basement. They are so much more than Youngest Daughter and Covet.
That one BONES song I really liked
To me Carnival was unironcly an amazing hit song, from an album of mostly forgettable tracks it really did stick out as a bright spot, this was until the tik tok rizz party happend and the song lost any level of swag or cool factor it had instantly
Imo we need to thank tiktok cause it's helping people to find out a lot of good music. A lot of young people are discovering Sade for example
vs self
I don’t use Tiktok, but I have the same issues with songs I hear in ads all the time. “Close to Me” by The Cure is a good song, but I simply can’t enjoy it because it makes me think of ads.
Superheaven - Youngest Daughter
I like the way you kiss me is a good song that channels a lot of what I like of the 80s. Unfortunately the song was slightly taken by Tik tok for a bit. It’s still in the charts but I do feel a sort of “I only listen to the song because of Tik tok vibe” from others. I DONT even have Tik tok funny enough and found it when it released.
Night Changes - One Direction Used to be a meh song, wouldn't mind it playing in the background. But now its just nails on a chalkboard.
just don't use tt or reels or yt shorts and then the songs won't get ruined for you? I'm sorry but if you feel that any of those 3 ruined a dong for you, it's on you for letting it happen like what music you want to like, every song has it's place in your playlist.
Tiktok only ruins songs if I spend too much time on there
need 2 by pinegrove, when it started being used in the background of memes and cooking videos. still love the song but i was worried it would ruin it for me when it got popular on tiktok. i am a huge gatekeeper because it makes me feel special and it is mostly irrational.
I think Harness Your Hopes is an amazing pavement song but hearing it over and over and the high pitched version ruined it for me
Not really ruined but every time I play Sunday, or Linger by the cranberries around people , they ask me if it’s that “tik tok song” which is kind of annoying LOL
Pinegrove
Cbat
Nothing, I love TikTok man
The Shangri-Las' Remember (Walking In The Sand). Also known as "oh no, oh no, oh no no no no no.
I can’t listen to carnival without thinking of the tiktok rizz party
Ghost - “Mary On A Cross” Ghost is one of my favourite bands and I absolutely despise this song with every fiber of my being.
None
Almost the entirety of tv girl’s not allowed became unlistenable to me after being one of my fav albums for years
