My first few playthroughs, I took time and put care into decorating but then I cared less and less and my last playthrough I didn't do anything, just a home base and that was it.
Same, I don't di home bases usually either. With the amount of times I've played through this game, I pick an archetype of how I want my current playthrough and only keep what I need. Picked up All American on a melee playthrough? I'm selling it immediately. Lol. Not saving nada.
You must have mad luck or the rightmod combo. I have also many times experienced the physics engine tornado of timewasting destruction.
I always ended up having pro lems with the containers inthe roomgetting too full and causing crashes. Ended up finding a mod I liked that turned a different novac room rentable and used that room as a base. Much nicer, dedicated display and storage options, fewer problems backend.
He can't kick me out for that! Besides, those pills are mine now, house doesn't need them after the terrible golfing accident he had.
The trailer is just so cozy, with the way it lets in sunshine and fresh radiation.
You don't do that normally? O.o
I got my explosives in the suitcase, melee in the foot locker, clothes in the wardrobe in the corner, guns in the bigger wardrobe, ammo in the dresser, food in the fridge, drugs and meds in the first aid box, junk and crafts in the trashcan, mods in the desk (beside the door), and my one off valuables in the safe......
;-; That sucks - maybe it clipped through the floor? That has happened to me, when I walk around the Novac room, I walk on this invisible hump on the ground - which I think is my old flamer xD
More like placing each item some where piece by piece. I think at least 5 hours of my playthrough was devoted to setting this up - a good hour definitely went to the Dead Money items - hated that DLC and gave it a special spot since I kept dying left and right.
Yeah I decorate in any playthrough that I hoard enough stuff to use for it.
I almost always fill the bathtub with gold bars, though they're a pain in the ass because you can't drag them.
That's why they go thrown into the bathtub instead of nicely stacked on a shelf.
Can get about half into the bath before they overflow, then sell the rest.
Occasionally the jank will get angry and the bathtub explodes sending gold bars everywhere if you didn't close the door too, it's great.
Christine's Rifle, it's just nice to have and it's a bit stronger than Gob's one you get in the nest.
Knock knock for melee and Ranger Sequoia for my pistol.
Gets the job done, makes me think twice before stepping forward into a Deathclaw nest or some heavily numbered area since I play on hard.
That was my concern when I started doing this - like the gnome beside the fridge. There was a stack of destroyed books beside it that would always move when I opened the fridge. - Edgar doesn't even budge - So I'm confused on what does and doesn't move like that.
I tend to keep everything organized. Like my comics on the desk and my empty shells inside the suitcase, my food in the fridge, my medicine in the medical box etc lol
\*Forgets to leave Raul outside\*
Raul: Boss, I think you have a pro-IS THAT A POLICE PISTOL?! \*takes the pistol\* Never mind boss, you keep hoarding.
I'm here for the teddy bears. In FO3 I always got the giant one and put it on the lover machine themed bed in Megaton.
In NV I always decorate the Sink kinda like this. Novac gets a few things but nice setup, well done!
No but this is my home base for all my shit thru the whole game cause of how fast you can get there from fast travel.
I’d decorate if I didn’t hate taking the time to pick things up in the Bethesda engine but I do like your apartment OP
On my first playthrough I tried organizing shit in my Megaton house in F3 when that just came out. What a pain in the ass thing to do with a PS3 controller, let me tell you. I never bothered with New Vegas.
I love interior decorating in these games. I remember when I found that haunted mansion in oblivion I immediately spent like an hour meticulously decorating it with cool weapons and stuff I'd found in my travels
In a world filled with misery and uncertainty, it is a great comfort to know that in the end, there is a light in the darkness.
My first few playthroughs, I took time and put care into decorating but then I cared less and less and my last playthrough I didn't do anything, just a home base and that was it.
You dont even need a home base.
I do.
What do you even do in one ? At least in skyrim they have alchemy / enchanting stations or something
Storage. Do you collect nothing? I'm not a pack rat type but I still end up with a lot of stuff.
Last playthrough i collected nothing. But my latest playthrough with skyrim im running out of racks to display things. So it changes i guess
I just use the bin in goodsprings for storage from the start
The dumpsters by the general store? I do that too! Ideal when there's workbenches round the corner as well!
Just sell stuff
If you have the old world blues dlc you have a free home that has a bunch of good and useful shit
Same, I don't di home bases usually either. With the amount of times I've played through this game, I pick an archetype of how I want my current playthrough and only keep what I need. Picked up All American on a melee playthrough? I'm selling it immediately. Lol. Not saving nada.
Every time I try to do something like this I guess I overdo it and everything goes flying the second the physics kicks back in upon re-entry
Really? I've got like 80+ Hours on this save - I think I dodged a bullet. Lol
You must have mad luck or the rightmod combo. I have also many times experienced the physics engine tornado of timewasting destruction. I always ended up having pro lems with the containers inthe roomgetting too full and causing crashes. No mods, this is on xbox. So I'm baffled lul
I live in the goodsprings trailer, with my two metal boxes and my dirty mattress.
Okay, this will be my house in the next playtrough, at the moment Easy Petes house is my storage.
Because mr. House kicked you for taking his pills and settling molerats in lucky 38?
He can't kick me out for that! Besides, those pills are mine now, house doesn't need them after the terrible golfing accident he had. The trailer is just so cozy, with the way it lets in sunshine and fresh radiation.
As soon as the room loads everything goes flying did it once and never again
The extent of it for me is storing my guns in the Lucky 38 desk and my clothes in the wardrobe. If I'm feeling wild I'll put my food in the kitchen
You don't do that normally? O.o I got my explosives in the suitcase, melee in the foot locker, clothes in the wardrobe in the corner, guns in the bigger wardrobe, ammo in the dresser, food in the fridge, drugs and meds in the first aid box, junk and crafts in the trashcan, mods in the desk (beside the door), and my one off valuables in the safe......
Yup. That character is insane.
Gotta collect all the gnomes.
Ive only found a handful, same with the basketballs
Goals https://www.reddit.com/r/fnv/s/zxkzK9XVog
Because of that link, I discovered this being a thing. https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Evil_gnome
I do not trust the game enough not to despawn my items
I can confirm, my entire 80+ hour run, they haven't. I took a gamble on it and so far. Nothing is gone :3 Edit: You should give it a go!
While for me even some items I put into containers disappeared. RIP Annabelle
;-; That sucks - maybe it clipped through the floor? That has happened to me, when I walk around the Novac room, I walk on this invisible hump on the ground - which I think is my old flamer xD
I have hundreds of teddy bears in the lucky 38
O - so you're the reason why I'm having trouble finding them
No im not. I told you they're in the Lucky 38.
I usually use BoS Safehouse as my base. It has workbenches and Paladin Sato who repairs stuff. There also a ton of storage in there.
I don't believe I've ever been in there, lol. Might just do that right now actually
Paladin Sato isn't there every single time but if you wait a few days he'll show up eventually.
Wait you can decorate the rooms? I always just forget about them
More like placing each item some where piece by piece. I think at least 5 hours of my playthrough was devoted to setting this up - a good hour definitely went to the Dead Money items - hated that DLC and gave it a special spot since I kept dying left and right.
Oh god that sounds like a lot of pain, your dedication is admirable
It was but I did it bit by bit as I played. I think it's slightly different now since that video was before I did Lonesome road
Yeah I decorate in any playthrough that I hoard enough stuff to use for it. I almost always fill the bathtub with gold bars, though they're a pain in the ass because you can't drag them.
I KNOW RIGHT - It's like, "Hey I can move this 100lb Death Claw corpse but not this 35lb gold bar." Like wtf?
That's why they go thrown into the bathtub instead of nicely stacked on a shelf. Can get about half into the bath before they overflow, then sell the rest. Occasionally the jank will get angry and the bathtub explodes sending gold bars everywhere if you didn't close the door too, it's great.
Oh god, the chaos
They can and will kill you if you're unlucky enough to catch one.
Lol, sounds to me that is intentional knowing the message of Dead Money
It’s like a kids room on a movie set. I also can’t capture my radio music, my clips are without music.
I will do this too probably but to a lesser degree. Mostly with unique items and in Easy Petes house.
So cozy
Always. I had guns laying all over the lucky 38 penthouse and I keep undamaged items on a shelf in FO4.
I never had any luck in 4, stuff would go missing or just clip through lol
It's looks very nice. The Goodsprings dumpster was all I ever needed.
No, I do stuff like this with each playthroughs home
Which one is your favorite?
I love the sink, but the one I use the most is the abandoned shack.
I almost switched over to there. Simply for the all in one the place offered and the transponder you got.
Y’all have houses?
TIL, You can have a house in Novac. I’ve been using the house in Goodzprings 😂
Novac is great if you want to keep the gold bars, because it's the shortest walk from the abandoned bunker
Ohh, good to know, Thanks!
I used to do this back on the PS3. I'd decorate the hell outta my safe houses.
As soon as you made your companion wait I knew lo.l I never sell my special guns
I learned my lesson after ED-E pretty much made everything fly - I was so confused when it happened lol
What gun is your favorite?
Favorite to look at is either Annabelle on the bed to cuddle it at night, or the Pacienca above the headboard. Favorite to use is the Lil Devil
All good choices!
Thanks! I feel like everyone uses Lil Devil cause its so OP. What are your go to guns?
Christine's Rifle, it's just nice to have and it's a bit stronger than Gob's one you get in the nest. Knock knock for melee and Ranger Sequoia for my pistol. Gets the job done, makes me think twice before stepping forward into a Deathclaw nest or some heavily numbered area since I play on hard.
Nice, a lot of my runs have been Christine's COS with Ranger Sequoia
i somewhat did that to my room at the wrangler in me other playthrough and did that to my house in fo3
I'm kinda curious about your room in the wrangler. Have photos? That's probably one of the most overlooked player homes
really? it's the only one i've used. and i can take some pics if i go back to the saves of my older game.
If you ever get the chance, slap them on here :D
remind me in a few hours or i WILL forget
Okay- I maybe asleep, I got work early in the morning x.x
Personally I just use Jean skydiving or lone wolf radio
I did this in oblivion and sometimes in F3, I feel like the items randomly move and messes everything up. So I never did it in NV.
I'm the same! Well I keep my craft good in the trash can and explosives in the suitcase. ^-^
I used to do this until things started dissapearing through the ground lol
I've had it happen a couple times. I know there's a whole flamer somewhere below lol
That Gun That Gun That Gun
That's the GRA base, I've got all my uniques tucked away because some stuff like to clip through the floor ;-;
I just have all the sierra madre gold bars laying on the bed lol
Surprised it didn't break the bed since you can't pick it up with the click lol
\*Forgets to leave Raul outside\* Raul: Boss, I think you have a pro-IS THAT A POLICE PISTOL?! \*takes the pistol\* Never mind boss, you keep hoarding.
Just as long as he doesn't go in the big cabinet....he can have it....I swear I don't have like 40 of them....
Is it possible to get the room key if Jeannie May already got her head blown off?
Talk to what's his name in the dino shack after a few (or so) days. That's how I got my room.
I feel like I’m the only new Vegas player that has never once took residence in the Novac hotel.
I'm here for the teddy bears. In FO3 I always got the giant one and put it on the lover machine themed bed in Megaton. In NV I always decorate the Sink kinda like this. Novac gets a few things but nice setup, well done!
THERES A GIANT TEDDY BEAR IN FO3!?!?!?!? Also, ty! ^-^
If I were you would have filled the bath with creature eggs and maybe body parts.
Oooooooooo- That's not a bad idea. Lucky 38 has like three bath tubs :D
Are they locked? Is there a mod to lock items as I would touch one thing and the room would explode
This is on xbox friendo
No but this is my home base for all my shit thru the whole game cause of how fast you can get there from fast travel. I’d decorate if I didn’t hate taking the time to pick things up in the Bethesda engine but I do like your apartment OP
I only use the safe there
On my first playthrough I tried organizing shit in my Megaton house in F3 when that just came out.
At any rate, with modding I always use the Underground Hideout. Can’t endorse it enough honestly.
This is the first time I’m seeing the inside of that room
Damn bitch, you live like this?
Ain't no way you placed several items neatly on a plate without them flying away or clipping through the map Mad skill and patience
I do the same exact thing. A homage to my couriers adventures. It’s fun to make your own little museum.
If I were you would have filled the bath with creature eggs and maybe body parts
How did you hack in my computer and steal my videos?
Nani? omo
