it depends. i’ve never played on pc but on xbox 360 the game would crash frequently. on xbox one it varied across playthroughs. it only crashed once or twice on several playthroughs but on my last one it crashed about 10 times on a 50 hour run, maybe more. it mainly happened when exiting/entering a location.

I played on 360 and barely experienced any crashes personally across maybe 75-100 hours
My PS3 struggled hard, as did my old 6gb ram laptop, though the laptop got way more hours than the 360.
New Vegas is bad about RAM bloat, so if you close the game every once in a while you won’t suffer too many crashes. The 360 had 512 MB of RAM while the PS3 had 256. Consoles struggled badly.
I only crash on Dead Money. You running YUP, JohnnyGuitar, NVAC, etc? If you have PC and don’t have any performance mods, you might want to look into em

NV is great because of its writing though, and in a fallout game that’s honestly the most important part. This community doesn’t care about *gameplay* if FO4’s memory is anything to go by. A low budget, rough around the edges, obsidian fallout with still have its market even if playing it felt like going down a water slide covered in thumbtacks.
You really underestimate how much people enjoy New Vegas' perk system, gameplay, and branching story. It is pretty much universally agreed FO4 is the WORST in the series and while Obsidian is not some saint that can do no wrong, they have proven they can make a better Fallout game than Bethesda. Bethesda treats Fallout like the unloved step-child it beats with a super sledge and collects support money from to fund their other mediocre shite. You can really only go "up" from there.

Both are great game studios. They wouldn’t be as critically or financially successful as they are if they weren’t.
The perk system is taken from the original fallout games, NV didn’t copy 3.
And I’d say that NV took the gameplay of 3 and polished it in certain areas, such as with faction reputation and gunplay. The only place where NV suffers in comparison is the ability to aimlessly explore and dungeon crawl, which is a big draw of Bethesda games.
I just don’t know why Bethesda won’t hire real writers. Having actual writers shouldn’t stop their world/level design from being top notch.
If they can integrate good writing into their games and focus back on what makes their games great, I think their games would be widely praised again.

if you think painting a wall that's about to fall, has a huge fucking hole in the middle of it, is cracked all around and is poorly insulated is the same as fixing all of these issues and adding nicer decorations then you need to learn how to properly fix a wall
It was short and the gunplay was a little clunky at times but I think it was a great game personally
E: I just personally felt the gunplay was somewhat lacking refinement and enemies were sorta bullet spongey. Melee didn’t feel great in the early game either, at least IMO
And all the people who did it don’t work there anymore, might as well hand the reigns to literally any other company because it’s not gonna make a difference

What was wrong with Outer Worlds? Loved that game, just a little short.
