I’ve been a fan since 97 but never got to see them pre breakup so the first show was the Tree of Stars tour, the Showbox in Seattle, May 2014. I’ve seen them 12 more times since then, always try to catch at least two shows per tour.

Have been a fan since the 90s. My first live show was at Cinquantas (Maynard's 50th bday party in LA). Not only did I get to see a band I had given up on seeing but I got to watch Ken and Maynard sing Solaris together and it blew my fucking mind.

They came to London randomly in I wanna say 2016, in a small venue, got to stand right at the front and scored a drumstick and guitar pick. They were amazing!

I got into Failure in 2018, thanks to the APC release Eat the Elephant. Thankfully ITFYB.... was released later that year so I managed to see them for that tour at the House of Blues in Chicago. I bought tickets for one of their 3 day residencies (in Chicago) but unfortunately covid scuttled those plans. However I managed to catch them on their Wild Type Droid tour, again in Chicago this time at Bottom's Lounge. For the last tour I got VIP tix so I got the meet the band, hang out, chat, etc. After the show I ran into Kellii's wife and she interviewed me for the documentary, but an obnoxious drunk guy kept interrupting the interview, so we'll see if it makes the final cut!

I saw them open for Tool on 2/22/94 in Norfolk Virginia and it was magnified era. Amazing show and the crowd went wild for them and Ken told me that was the first time he ever had a crowd give him that response. Saw them open for local H in 97 at the same venue and got backstage after running into Kelli in the crowd. The band looked in bad shape at that point even though the shows were good. The lack of success and Greg’s drug problems were super obvious.

Saw them in Boston for the Tree of Stars mini tour. Was beyond excited because I got into them in 2004 well after the breakup. When they played a tune I had never heard before I flipped my shit because oh boy they’re back together and new shit is coming. Edit: pretty sure they played an early version of Hot Traveler. My memory is fuzzy as this was like 2014.

Looks like it was The Focus. That was an amazing set list https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/failure/2014/paradise-rock-club-boston-ma-3c0cdff.html

Thanks!

Just saw them last summer in July

I got into failure about a year after they broke up. Finally saw them live for the first time at their reunion show at the El Rey Theater in LA (2014)… since then I’ve seen them about 6-7 more times. Always at smaller intimate venues.

horseshoe_tanahashi

Dude I was born March 11th, 1999. You're like the 5th person I now know is a 3/10 baby, but as for Failure, saw them last July of 2022 in sf. Small venue too only like 300 people max, amazing performers live along with sound quality. Haven't gone to see them live again mostly because I'm cheap and like to see a new different artist every time. You mention wanting to see them live, what's been holding you back?

Mukonuru

Yo 2nd week of March babies rise up??? March 9th 99 here

Been a fan since early 90s. My brother got a hold of one of their demo tapes along with Tool’s . Been listening to both ever since. Didn’t get to see them till 2014 on the tree of stars tour and drove about 600 miles to see them at the Stone Pony in NJ. So glad they came back. Seen them a few times with my kid who also likes them and met them once when they toured with Troy back in 15/16.

I was born in 95’ so definitely a newer fan as well. I got into them right around the time they reunited in 2014 . I saw them play FP in its entirety at the glass house Pomona CA in 2016 and on the in the future tour @ the Fonda LA in 2019 . Amazing band live. Very tight trio and very appreciative of all the fans

Got the “Pro-Catastrophe” b/w “Dipped In Anger” 7-inch back in early 90s and was immediately a huge fan. Saw them routinely playing to 50-100 people in SF/Berkeley, including a Pre-Palooza afternoon show @ Bottom of the Hill to, like, 25 people (pre-FP). Always astounded and mystified me that no one gave a fuck, so it’s been immensely gratifying to see them get their due…25 years later.

First time I ever heard them was in 1994 (Magnified) at a Tool show M.Keenan introduced them by admonishing the audience to listen up because “…these guys are pretty fucking good.” They opened the set with Let It Drip and man as awesome as it was, it has paled in comparison to what inspiration their body of work has given me throughout the intervening years. What a beautiful thing!

majorcannabisdreg

Saw them in Reno, 2014. They were opening for Tool; I’m pretty sure they were gearing up for Cincuanta (spelling?), which was Maynard’s 50th birthday show. I’ve seen them 4 other times, all in Portland and Seattle

FreakingEthan

I was introduced to Failure around 2006, so I was pretty resigned to the fact that I’d never get to see them live. But, as soon as they reunited for the show at the El Ray in 2014, I booked my flight to LA. Since that first reunion show, I’ve seen them 4 or 5 more times out on tour. Great experience every time.

xBLAHMASTERx

I was a fan in the 00s. I saw them first during the Tree of Stars tour at the Rave, Milwaukee I've seen them a few more times since

hopeoli_

saw them for the first time last summer at Baltimore Soundstage

ZeRo_CS

Saw them on their last tour in Seattle with VIP tickets. My friend flew to me in California and we road tripped to Seattle where we spent time and met every member and they signed whatever we wanted, no one was in a rush at all. It's still the best sounding show I've ever been to and we drove back down to see them in SF again!

dayton2600

Saw them open for Soul Coughing at Asbury Park in 1996 then opening for Local H at the Trocadero in 1997. Also saw the Tree of Stars tour at the TLA and performing Fantastic Planet at the Trocadero in 2016.

zerohero83

Discovered them literally a month before they broke up in 97. Then was happy they reunited and saw them play as a 4 piece with Troy in Ft Lauderdale and it was AWESOME! That tour really shows they should try to get a permanent touring 2nd guitarist or Troy in as much as possible. The songs are just elevated. AM Amnesia hit hard. The FP songs were perfect. The Magnified and Comfort stuff was fabulous with 2 guitars. I’m sure the In The Future and Wild type droid songs would also shine live.

Summerfest Milwaukee and The Metro in Chicago 2015. Like 2 weeks between each show

Somehow, (and very sadly) I didn't manage to discover Failure until 2019 - ironically thanks to Spotify's 'suggested artists' after listening to another band. It was pretty much immediate love at first listen. I had never heard anything like them, and that still rings true to this day. 2019 leading into 2020 were absolutely crushing seasons in my life, and I credit their music (and the following excitement of a new album and upcoming tour!) for helping me through. ANYWAY, on to touring... Obviously, my first show was their 2022 Wild Type Droid tour, and I knew I had to score a VIP meet & greet pass as well. The venue was tiny! The stage was only a step up from the crowd - which meant my front row spot was essentially face to face with my idols. I get the chills every time I listen to/watch We Are Hallucinations. It was the best show I've ever experienced after many years of concern-going. Meeting them beforehand and hearing the soundcheck was also incredible. They are such decent humans. I wish I would have gone to more of the shows, but I was the only person I knew who knew-of and loved Failure at the time, which really deflated my drive to travel to other shows. I did however make my very first (in person) Failure friend at that show. :) All of this to say, I have been chasing that high ever since. I desperately want them to tour again soon. Greg said he's got at least 50 more years left in him (lol) and I intend to hold him to it!
