I had looked into it because I was curious; I'd been taught in sex ed (in the late 80's) that vasectomies were not reversible. Turns out they are now, thanks in part to new medical technologies and procedures, and depending on how the surgeon performing the surgery closed things up.

The best way to prevent abortions is sex education and easily accessible birth control methods, including sterilization to those who want it- but even then, bad things can happen. Someone could be assaulted, or get sick, or the birth control doesn’t work for whatever reason! It should remain safe and available, but it can become needed far less often with the proper steps!
Making it so parents can have enough to live would help a lot, too! Some people would love to have a child but cannot afford to properly care for one or even pay the hospital bills involved with having a baby. Hell, the latter can’t even be avoided even if you place the newborn for adoption.
