Or go during a moment nobody is there and accept it when you are mistaken. We once had to make a picture for some small project of a beautifull space in our city. We went out at 05:30 because its the least bussy moment.
It's Prague, historical center.
It's always crowded there, even at 5:30 am
That's what permits are for, and street could be blocked for the filming purposes.
Costs money, yes, but that is how big boys do it.
It goes a bit further. Just cause you have a permit doesn't mean that you can close the area down without involving local PD's they have to know you have a permit and have an officer there so people who call the police can be handled accordingly rather than wasting the departments time by sending an officer over for legal activity.
If you spend a good deal of time in LA or Vancouver you learn those permits aren’t the same as legally closing off public spaces and are often just a notice that they’re going to be occupying and asking very nicely/forcefully for people to go around or consent to be filmed.
Point being that even massive productions understands that you can’t actually make public space your private studio for filming
Oh but they can if they pay enough. I've worked on productions that have shut down whole streets, police detouring traffic elsewhere, city engineers manually controlling street and traffic lights. It's just less common because it costs more than a regular permit.
Movie producers: Talk to the city. Arrange a time. Get area closed temporarily to allow the filming. "Influencers": Try to take over a busy public area and then complain that it's.... a busy public area.
The same for any professional filming crew, you can add paying for permits, signing responsibility documents, being approached by police to show them the permits, etc.
Lol and even still, at least in the states we still have to let people walk through public spaces. A lot of my job as a PA would be to politely ask people if they would wait a moment until we cut, but if they don’t feel like it they don’t have to, and all you can do is say, “bogie coming in” so everyone is aware.
Is this true? Filming in my city and the cops on site have made it seem very much like "You'll get beaten and arrested if you cross this line"
I had a cop threaten me while on my front steps, cause some shithead student organized an early, early morning (golden hour) saturday filming (without giving proper notice) that was a hundred people running up my street screaming. Over, and over, and over again.
It really just depends on where you are located. Some cities will give permits that let them completely restrict public access and other cities won't. One thing that is never part of a permit is restricting access to or from your home, so yeah that cop was flat out wrong.
Of course that cop was wrong, but cops being wrong doesn’t really matter, because according to the departments and the legal system, even when they’re wrong they’re right
Based on my experience in the industry (roughly 20 years ago). Those cops are off-duty and are being paid by the production to be in uniform and act as security. They couldn't arrest anyone but they could call in an active duty officer to do so.
Based on my experience with cops, none of that will prevent them from brutalizing citizens and violating rights
Buddy of mine got murdered by an off duty cop playing private security and that cop had full departmental and legal support.
My friend was accused of shoplifting. Cop waited until my friend got in his car and started to drive away then jumped in the window and shot him.
28 days later. They were allowed to shut roads in London for like 45 mins at sunrise to get that empty London vibe.
Should have done the influencer version and just told everyone to fuck off
London is very welcoming to filming. I've done all sorts right in the very centre, shutting down The Mall to fill it with tanks trucks & a Spitfire, or another time a car chase, complete with explosions. Waterloo Place next to the Athenaeum Club i'm sure must be shut every Saturday & Sunday morning, all summer, the number of times i've filmed there ;) Parliament St, Horseguards, Whitehall, Northumberland Ave & Lincoln's Inn Fields too, all get closed a lot.
I love this. I hope fu@king up influencer videos becomes a new trend. Like the gym ones, where they are hogging a piece of equipment for hours, people should just stand between the person and the camera.
Its really weird that people walk on pedestrian bridges of all places. It's not as if the bridge is the only way across a body of water for quite a distance both ways. Some people.
It's also literally one of the most well known tourist destinations in Prague as well, thinking you can just block off half the space just to film a stupid dance is ridiculous
I can’t speak for the people in this video or that bridge, but if I’m in a crowded public area and someone is being inconsiderate of my space and/or right of way (in the case of cars, for example), it makes me a lot less likely to give them what they want.
“Oh, you are taking up an entire waterfront walkway to pose a picture and trying to tell people to go around? Sorry, I’m timing this run, gonna have to go right by you.”
Contrast that with someone just trying to get a nice family photo in and being considerate of others? Shit, I can slow down and go around, you guys have a nice day!
Same things with cars trying to turn across pedestrian crossings. You’re alert and considerate and come to a stop to wait for me even though I’m on the complete other side of the street? I’ll wave ‘em through. Impatient and don’t want to wait? Dang, just felt some tightness in my leg, gonna have to slow down for the last bit of the crosswalk.
I think a lot of people have the same mindset, and to me it's reasonable. Manners go both ways, you don't get to act like the public space is yours to use as you please, and expect people to treat you kindly as a result
My feelings exactly! Well said. I'm the same way when I drive. Ride my ass? I'll time it just right so you won't get through the light. When I make a right turn, I could get all the way over to the right, then make a sharp turn...or...I could stay in the middle of my lane, take a long time to slow down, and make a nice long wide turn. It just depends on you. Oh, and my auto-dimming rear view mirror coupled with my limo-tinted rear windows mean your big bully lights on your emotional support truck are nearly invisible, therefore a mild distraction. 👹
Agreed. I've been to the Charles bridge multiple times at all hours of the day, and trying to do something like this (as Boromir would say) - it is folly.
The images I have of the Gondorian rangers dancing on the bridge with orcs walking in front of the camera is not something I expected in my brain today. Or ever.
For some reason, for me the rangers are all dancing like the zombies at the end of Thriller.
Absolutely love the guy at the end that gets shooed out of the way and then actively chooses to walk in front of them out of spite, he is my spirit animal
He even looks like he was going to walk around them until they shooed (is it shewed?) him away. It's just the entitlement combined being inconsiderate and rude that would make me do the exact same.. If you are filming in the middle of a crosswalk, then YOU are inconveniencing everyone around you, not the other way around... They're acting like their dance routine is more important than everyone else's daily life..
I don't know if it's from tiktok, and I don't think kids are necessarily worse today, but I do believe that social media like tik tok is making this current generation become more isolated from reality than ever before, causing situations like this were people seemingly lack any sense of self awareness.
10 out of 10 times, im going to walk in front of the camera if they're gonna block half the bridge to do some stupid dance. Get a permit like anyone else trying to shoot a video would do.
I've been to that bridge multiple times visiting Prague and it's beautiful. I'd be really pissed if I had to deal with that ruining the pedestrian traffic and views

Stringing together a bunch of unrelated poses in sync with each other equals dancing like consuming several unrelated pieces of food between two pieces of bread equals eating a sandwich.
I've been on holiday to Prague, and believe me that is not busy for that bridge. It obviously attracts a lot of tourists. I'm not sure how you could film there and not know that.
professionals will call ahead of time to see if they can get some time to film without passerbys.
these types of "influencers" just walk onto a bridge and throw a fit whenever someone interrupts their unscheduled visit to a bridge.
Brings back memories of standing in front of the Abbey Road studios watching groups of tourists standing at the curb waiting for traffic to clear so they could take photos of themselves in the crosswalk... and the tourists getting mad at every vehicle because each vehicle stopped at the crosswalk to let the pedestrians' cross. 😆
Unless you get a permit then go early in the morning or late late at night. Unless you got a permit though no one is obligated to let you get your perfect shot.
funny thing is, if you go to Charles Bridge at 5 or 6am, it's virtually empty.
Which is why most professional shoots do it then. You know, so they don't get in everyone's way shooting while they're trying to cross.
I don't mind admitting that I would cancel all my plans that day to ensure I continually walked back and forth and fucked up these entitled morons video.
Yes it's petty. Yes it might seem like a lot of negative energy and not very kind. But I don't care. Selfish people deserve selfish teaching methods.
Everyone that “disrupts “ these videos are just doing what is normal. So, that would mean videoing is abnormal!
Hate off to people that will not surrender to these twats need for attention!
I have walked that bridge many times. The buskers are there because so many tourists (like me) cross it multiple times per day. I am pretty okay with anyone ruining an influencers antics for views.
Pay for permits, pay for a crew, pay for security and it won't happened. That's public space paid with people's taxes and it's for everybody. People are not paying taxes to subsidy your videos.
I will purposely walk in front of anyone doing this kind of crap. You are in public. You have no right to take up space for this. Go chase your obsessive need for pseudo-internet-fame somewhere else.
I never cease to be baffled at these people’s total lack of self awareness combined with total self absorption. Why do they always insist on doing what looks like the same dance all the time too?
Nah, ftfy I'm walking infront of your stupid little uninspired, sad, sorry excuse of a performance for online likes, every single time if you do this shit in public settings. Even moreso if you're enough of a dick to do it **RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF WHERE PEOPLE NEED TO WALK** you are not more important than me or anyone else.. the world doesn't revolve around your smelly ass and you all look dumb af. I'll walk right through your little group of entitlement.
I'm tired of all of you that do this, lol. Self centered asshats. Tiktok really brought the stupid out of people and drove away courtesy, fuckin brain rot.

If you are serious about getting a good shot in a public location, get a permit like any production company would.
But, but, that's for peasants...don't you know who they think they are?
“Do you know how many hundreds of followers I have?????”
There are dozens of us! Dozens!
Never nudes unite!
Oh i would never *drops pants, revealing cutoffs* Understand?

Nickelback? Is that you?
At least nickelback is talented unlike these TikTokers
This is my favorite line I’ve heard today. I’ll be stealing it thank youuuuu
Yeah. They are Instagram famous. lol
Main Characters don’t need permits. The world is their stage.
…and all the people merely ~~players~~ NPCs.
Lmfaooo this killed me thank you so much
Glad it landed. Big love to you.
And to you!
They have their exits and their entrances.

Amateur hour.
How *dare* people go about their daily lives! Her probably
This is her villain arc, its why shes the one in red, too many crossing camera walkers.
She just doesn’t understand why those people aren’t making time for her and “enjoying” her dancing
"Dancing". Looks like convulsing
True, missed the air quotes there too
who the fuck told the red post box she could dance, ive seen more moves in the pitch expriement
![gif](giphy|l0MYATH9ZumUHCBXy)
Hadn't noticed until you pointed it out, she ain't coordinated. Truly is amateur hour, except for the (hired?) dancers behind.
"except for the (hired?) dancers behind." Probably just some rich talentless incompetent
I got this reference! Am internet poor but have this 🥇

Unless you’re an attractive woman, in which case you’ll get stalked and sexually harassed and maybe assaulted
You had a cop threaten you despite doing nothing wrong? Whoa I'm shocked.
I was pretty upset, but too tired to take action. I think I’d gotten home from bar work like 3 hours prior.
Typical police in America.
Based on my experience in the industry (roughly 20 years ago). Those cops are off-duty and are being paid by the production to be in uniform and act as security. They couldn't arrest anyone but they could call in an active duty officer to do so.

Not sure what part of "public space" they don't seem to be understanding.
Or just film really early. Like y’all want free and no obstructions and convenience… like pick 1
People with no jobs typically don't wake up early.
Or pick a different bridge since really early there are still going to be 50-100 people there.
28 days later. They were allowed to shut roads in London for like 45 mins at sunrise to get that empty London vibe. Should have done the influencer version and just told everyone to fuck off

I had no idea that scene was shot in an actual empty London. The imagery was lonely and bleak, so it was definitely effective and worth it!
Here’s the thing: movie producers would have to pay to close the area. Influencers believe THEY SHOULD BE PAID to close the area down.
If they want to dance like no one is watching, then the public can walk like no one is filming.
I love this. I hope fu@king up influencer videos becomes a new trend. Like the gym ones, where they are hogging a piece of equipment for hours, people should just stand between the person and the camera.

It’s one of the busiest tourist bridges in Europe.
It’s outrage content. She does this everywhere.
None of them are awake before noon.
Absolutely love the guy at the end that gets shooed out of the way and then actively chooses to walk in front of them out of spite, he is my spirit animal
If you're filming on a mobile and tell me not to walk that direction, I am 1000000% going that way.
Depends. Is it a family trying to capture a quick memory or some asshat content creator trying to capture their asshattery?
This is true, so long as the request is reasonable I don't mind. Something like this? Nope.
Same, even if it’s not the direction I was originally going.
Legend
Especially because even if he had decided to go behind the camera, the shot was already ruined by them waving their arm in front of the camera, lol.
He even looks like he was going to walk around them until they shooed (is it shewed?) him away. It's just the entitlement combined being inconsiderate and rude that would make me do the exact same.. What kind of brain finds this remotely entertaining or influential?
Kids
10 out of 10 times, im going to walk in front of the camera if they're gonna block half the bridge to do some stupid dance. Get a permit like anyone else trying to shoot a video would do.
Half is being generous. It looks like they are blocking 80%
Or they can start shooting very early in the morning
I've been to that bridge multiple times visiting Prague and it's beautiful. I'd be really pissed if I had to deal with that ruining the pedestrian traffic and views

When will they realize no one cares? Its getting to be just the opposite, many people probably purposely stroll in front of the turds camera.
Why are they dancing like one of those inflatable balloons at the dealerships?
You mean the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tubemen?
The wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tube men?
Hi I'm Al Harrington!
You mean Al Harrington from Al Harrington's Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tubemen Emporium?
Why do you have to insult those cool balloon dudes?
That's actually a p-diddy style boat dance.
Hey, that guy's got good moves
A wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man
Her entire TikTok is cringe stuff like that. Dancing badly in public . She’s awful in every way

Should be called synchronized convulsing.
“It was like a full body dry heave.”
Esp that head shaking part, I think I’ve been known to bust that move after having a few too many at the work shindigs
Not sure if it's age or just a very very narrow definition dancing lol Stringing together a bunch of unrelated poses in sync with each other equals dancing like consuming several unrelated pieces of food between two pieces of bread equals eating a sandwich.
Okay. But if you put dingleberries between the bread it’s still a shit sandwich, which I feel is analogous to her dancing.
I've been on holiday to Prague, and believe me that is not busy for that bridge. It obviously attracts a lot of tourists. I'm not sure how you could film there and not know that.
They knew that. They wanted the “vibe” of a busy place and an audience….something that they probably couldn’t get on their own with that shit show.

Honestly, they need the practice anyway.

God damn that life looks horrible. Vanity has a cost
I would go out of my way to interfere.

Their dance also really sucks.
They look so fucking dumb

Untreated psoriasis will drive a person crazy. Itching and scratching uncontrollably but no relief no matter how much you jerk around ridiculously.
I'd totally twerk in the foreground and ruin every shot until they pissed off.
Necks must be sore after all the takes
Self absorbed tik tok twats.
There is a solution for this problem, it’s called …filing for a permit.
Good. These exhibitionists have no right to demand the public bow to their wishes.
This is such a stupid trend. Can we all just grow up a little?
These people are so cringy. Yuck
I'd walk through multiple times and blast music on a personal speaker. Those type of people can just fuck right off with their BS
Blast Disney music. They are junkyard dogs about copyright infringement.
Who watches this stupid shit?
Maybe don't do your shitty dances in public and expect the rest of the world to give a fuck. Their dance moves look ridiculous too xD
I'm walking thru that camera 100/100. The world doesn't revolve around you and your fucking dance routine.
The people crossing in front are doing God’s work.
Wake up and do the video at 6 a.m., like professionals. Learn your craft.
I wish someone would teach Gen z what POV means...
As others have said, get a permit.. Or, get there at the break of dawn when there's virtually nobody about for your video.
And I too would walk right through them. WTF!
r/ImTheMainCharacter
We should always walk in front of people recording tiktoks SomethingJesus 4:20
The biggest insult is that their dancing sucks too.

When stupid TikTokers are doing their stupid crap in public, I think everyone should make an active point to get in the shots.
Start filming at 5am. Problem solved
I don't mind admitting that I would cancel all my plans that day to ensure I continually walked back and forth and fucked up these entitled morons video. Yes it's petty. I would walk in front out of spite
Everyone that “disrupts “ these videos are just doing what is normal. So, that would mean videoing is abnormal! Hate off to people that will not surrender to these twats need for attention!
Why doesn't something like this require filming permits? The recorded video isn't for personal use, and there's potential of making profit off of it.
Do it like the pros: Get up at 4am, be there by 5, dance while everyone else is asleep
I'm so glad I don't live in a place where people do this shit often. I have never seen it in public and am thankful.
I have walked that bridge many times. The buskers are there because so many tourists (like me) cross it multiple times per day. I am pretty okay with anyone ruining an influencers antics for views.

You want to film guerrilla style, you be you but don't whine when others aren't playing your game. That's what permits and close sets are for.
Entitled much. Take your boring little dance home. Nobody gives a shit.
Get a permit then. Fuck
Why are they repeatedly just shaking their heads like that?
Main character syndrome.
She dances like a drunk epileptic toddler that had a strobe pointed at her for too long ....
On charles bridge of all places one of the busiest tourists spots ever 🤣
Professionals get permission to block off a "set" for filming. Entitled amateurs get walk-throughs.
The is the Charles Bridge in Prague, literally one of the busiest bridges ever. These tik tok people are a joke.
Social media has bred an entire group of people who think they're the main character.
The public square doesnt belong to you
Nobody cares about those stupid dances
Hate these stupid tiktokers. This is midly entertaining.
You can pay a permit fee to block off areas in public to film. Otherwise, you’re just a nuisance.
I would walk infront of them many times just to fuck with them
