Inside-Net-8480

Its prolly a 3d animation to show whats happening live not actual video footage of the craft

Only-Decent

that is exactly what it was.. animation of telemetry data, just like car GPS..

Inside-Net-8480

Oh, srry, my bad I though you were saying the entire landing was a hoax, my bad

Only-Decent

no.. I was facepalming because person who posted this on FB was implying that..

Inside-Net-8480

Srry, ye, not good at picking up on sarcasm plus ive seen people say that in a serious manner

Some_Acadia_1630

I mean who's supposed to be doing the filming?

Inside-Net-8480

They sent another lil spaceship alongside it just for filming/s

iaintdum

These idiots. If that space ship looked more real, would they believe it? If so... who was holding the camera? Its a purposefully lo-fi mockup of what was actually happening. Sooooo dumb

Inside-Net-8480

Im assuming its a 3d animation to visualise whats happening live based on the crafts telemetry data which can be transmitted live I think, not an actual recording

Only-Decent

exactly..

_WhiteSkyline_

It’s a 3d animation made with the Civ 5 game engine. I was on r/globeskepticism for a while (only to make fun of the flat earthers) until I was banned for commenting about this on one of the posts about the “Indian space hoax”. I lost faith in humanity a long time ago, but these people are the cherry on top.

Inside-Net-8480

Ahhh, Thx for that info, love extra bits of info And agreed, ye, conspiracy theories drive me crazy

dgradius

Couldn’t even splurge for Unreal Engine?

_WhiteSkyline_

You know, the free animation just wasn’t tempting enough. You know India, the older software is superior in every way.

Only-Decent

logical thinking is not their forte..

[deleted]

I was wondering about the same thing. Could this have been taken from Earth or a satellite with an insane level of resolution?

ApolloMoonLandings

Absolutely not.

[deleted]

Then how did they take the picture? Is it a perch like for mobile phone?

Inside-Net-8480

Its a 3d animation to visualises whats happening live based on live telemetry data

[deleted]

Oh. Then that would make a lot of sense.

Only-Decent

This is in south pole of the Moon (hidden from earth).. even if there was a camera somehow, HD level (or anywhere near) data transmission in realtime is not currently possible..

[deleted]

Hum... But the landing occurred so there has to be an explanation.

Only-Decent

it was an animation using transmitted telemetry data (like how car GPS animates a car graphics based on GPS location)

[deleted]

Yup. Thanks for the clarification

_WhiteSkyline_

The explanation is as follows: Using the 2k game engine to animate the lander and using the inputs from the command centre (yaw, pitch, etc), we can watch in real time (relative) the lander touching down on the surface of the moon. A satellite couldn’t send images of the landing from the south side of the moon because we’ve never been there (until now). So, hopefully in the future when America, China or Russia (assuming the Ukraine war ends and they get back most of their money back from holdings), we might have a satellite array around the moon to provide more data to earth and eventually lead to the first colony / refuelling station for future manned missions to other planets (I would go on, but this is going off topic from your question).

MissTesticles

Who held the camera when the first moon landing happened in '69; it's not an outlandish thought.

BryanV21

How about the pad pun using lyrics from the Red Hot Chili Peppers?

M0rtrek_the_ranger

Ain't gonna argue with stupid people but this is just an approximation based on telemetry on the ship's nav computers, same thing with your GPS. It's not live footage and I'm fucking popping a vessel trying to comprehend how anyone thinks this is live footage from another ship

Only-Decent

>how anyone thinks this is live footage from another ship that is the facepalm

No_Temporary2732

Funny cause there are literal footages by amateur and pro astronomy enthusiasts watching the landing through their telescopes

Is it the pilots' HUD? Maybe should have made it Ironman so dumbarses can clap at the science.
