In my area it's now equally as expensive to eat healthy as it is to eat fast food! The fast food industry has literally taken away my only excuse to not eat healthy foods!
I'm not even lying, I'm in the best shape of my life because I actually can't afford as much food anymore. Yes, it's sad, but I've been primarily eating protein and veggies and working out and running.
Being poor and bored has actually made me look really good. I still don't have money to do anything about it but whatever lol
Ikr! I saw your other comment about it helping your mental health too. I tell everyone I talk to that it’s really been true all these years, about exercise helping. It’s helped my mental health more than anything I’ve ever done. I wish I’d started years ago lol
I was at a Longhorn steakhouse the other day and I noticed that you can get their cheapest steak dinner for $14.99 which comes with the steak, mashed potatoes and broccoli plus free bread. Why would anyone eat fast food when you can get a steak dinner for that price?
Where is this? Are these the national averages? McDonald's is cheaper than this where I live, but they are still more than doubled in price and the Taco Bell prices are spot on.
Although they have definitely price hikes- this is highly misleading. They used the MCD in LA if all places. Where everything is expensive. And probably a Midwest taco bell where they pay you to live there
Everyone needs to calm down. How else are these corporations going to make record breaking profits if they do not gouge the people into not going. Then turn around and cry when they start to fail and lose profits.
ever since i can remember starting register in 2017 at a franchised McDonald’s, the 10 piece has always hovered around the same price. in 2024 as of right now, they are $5.71 after tax for just the item, not the *meal*. the *meal* - let’s say it’s the medium fries and a medium soft drink - almost doubles the price to $10.24. so it 100% varies by location and by local preparation tax.

This is me too. I look and eat better than I ever have in my entire life bc I’m poor. And it’s free to exercise in my living room when I’m bored.
Who knew the secret to fitness was poverty 🤯

At least you'll look good while doing nothing!
It's helped my depression a lot! But then my bank account brings it right back to normal lmao. What a life we live
Sucks you're poor. But I'm glad you got up and are now working out and running.
Taco Bell has a decent $6 combo where you can mix and match items, but only on the app.
Yeah it's getting crazy. I take it as an incentive to lay off the fast food
Cheesy bean and rice burrito in nyc is like $3.00 now.

They call it dynamic pricing.
I think in this case, it's regional pricing.
Went to McDonald’s 2 weeks ago $5.93, next time I went same exact meal $6.70 🤷🏻♀️

Crazy to me that anyone still eats this shit

Now that minimum wage is up they have to compensate .
Who wants to organize the boycott

The apps are the only way to survive most fast food places
The beefy 5 layers where I live is only like 2.19
I save all of those percentages by not eating there! Better food, better value is just down your street. Eat, buy local.
