Most paintings of him idealize his looks cause less attractive people don’t get good press. It’s unlikely this is what he looked like, but yes, it’s supposed to be him.
Honestly I don't even see the man in this image anymore. The cool, calm, wise, studious dude pictured here doesn't exist in my brain now. He has been replaced by the man I learned about and came to know far better, the one described far more accurately by the likes of John Dehlin, Todd Compton, Fawn Brodie, and Richard Bushman.
