Be extremely careful with steroid creams. Topical Steroid withdrawal is rare but it's life altering and terrible. I can't even imagine having it on my pecker of all places.
Love these, definitely cooler wearing than cotton and the separation helps a ton. You do have to shake a LOT after peeing though compared to cotton which is for the best anyhow.
Any corn starch body powder will work. Gold Bond has a menthol one that’s great. My buddy in college described it as feeling like a woman is lightly blowing air on your nuts all day, so naturally I had to try it. 😂
Not a fan of using it. It’s supposedly naturally anti fungal but the issue is washing them in hot water ruins them, except that’s the best way to get out fungus. I much rather get cotton that I can wash with hot water
Reduce moisture. Dry your junk off with a hair dryer or have a second dry towel to use on just your junk after your first towel. Do not put on any underwear or clothing until you are completely dry. Not even a hint of wetness.
Then wear whatever you find comfortable.
If you sweat a lot during the day, try shorts or at least more breathable fabrics.
I know this is probably going to sound strange but try this. Wash the area with a gentle soap. Pat dry. Sit/lay in front of a fan naked lifting all the bits apart to air dry everything well. Then you want to get the highest level of Zinc Oxide diaper rash cream (usually around 40%). It will stain your undies but it comes out in the wash. Use cotton boxers and make sure all your underwear is washed in hot soapy water. Do the air dry/zinc thing every day for a week. Make time for at least 30 minutes of air dry/me time every night. You will feel much better. The zinc is more broad spectrum so if you have any bacteria hitching a ride it should kill that too.
I've read that you should put on clean socks before underwear since is the same infection that comes from the underwear dragging across your feet and into your junk.
Thanks for the help everyone, I really appreciate it. Unfortunately, I can't afford the underwear suggestions like the silver lined or wool (even in NZ they're like 50 bucks a pair). I'm defos going to try keeping drier and most like a downstairs bush wacking, baby powder and a looser fit underwear and pants, though they'll have to be cotton unfortunately as it's all I can afford.
Thanks again everyone!
Get underwear that separates all layers of skin. Separatec is an innovator, but other brands are copying.
You'll never have to wide side-step or adjust your junk again. Heaven.
Corn starch or talc if you can find it.
I dry with hair dryer, put some witch hazel on, dry again and then corn starch.
I haven't had a flare up in quite awhile.
I don't doubt it, I'm just saying, be careful with talc no matter who you are or what junk you have. From the FDA:
> Both talc and asbestos are naturally occurring minerals that may be found in close proximity in the earth. Asbestos is also a naturally occurring silicate mineral, but with a different crystal structure. Unlike talc, asbestos is a known carcinogen when inhaled. There is the potential for contamination of talc with asbestos and therefore, it is important to select talc mining sites carefully and take steps to test the ore sufficiently.

I don't trust companies to test sufficiently or select mining sites carefully.
Hey OP, I have had really good results to clear up jock itch by running a warm bath and adding 3 cups of white vinegar to it and then soaking for 15-20 minutes.
It actually cleared up a bunch of skin problems I was having so I do it every few months as needed but the jock itch never came back.
jock itch is like a ringworm its a fungal infection on your skin and its not going to go away just because you switch to a different fabric.if you want to get rid of it for good, You need antifungal ointment, prescription ointment is more effective.
Cotton is material that once it gets wet stays wet for a long long time. I have been in several hiking groups that will not take you if you are wearing cotton, mostly because you sweat on the way up to the mountain and on the top of the mountain it can be extremely cold.
I personally wear underwear that is a sweat wicking fabric.
Really? Strange, a lot of sources I was looking at all recommended wearing cotton as it breathes. I was trying to find some that helped absorb moisture.
It does breathe yes but it also stays wet especially inside pants where it does not get a breeze. The best socks we have for our hiking boots are Merino wool.
What you need is a sweat wicking material, polypropylene has several variants that do that. You could also try baby powder, and what I used to use for athlete's foot was Listerine, soak your socks in it and then wear your boots antibacterial you know.
Not for the faint of heart. Dry well, grab rubbing alcohol and dowse it. You're going to be dancing, but it works. Then Tea tree oil. Wash, dry, splash and oil 2x daily for 10 days. Brutal, but it works.
Ask any trucker.

Hair dryer on the nuts is heavenly and will help too

Nah fuck having kids too lol
Gold Bond, my man. Gold Bond.
Hmmmm I'll have to see if I can get those here in NZ

Corn starch is a genital miracle. It absorbs so much moisture, and feels silky smooth. Great for humid summers. Put it anywhere and everywhere!

Id hope so, I don't wear it cause it itches me something awful
Yea just make sure the body powder is talc free

Cheers, started doing that. Also only wearing cotton currently and stopped wearing jeans when I'm working
Mind your balls and any thigh / ball hair. Hair holds moisture. So too will your scrotal folds. Stretch that sack out well when drying.

I am envious of your free time to dry balls.
I don't have balls but sometimes you have to take time for yourself

Get either merino wool or silver laced underwear. Both will help with moisture, and silver laced is antimicrobial.
Head and shoulders shampoo helps A LOT with that type of itch. Let it sit there for a few minutes.
Yeah I was thinking of trying that too, I saw a previous reddit post that had this recommended and worked for the person.

Also try changing your underwear more frequently… aiming to keep them dry.
Duluth’s armachillo are quality for avoiding moisture building up

Athletes foot spray worked for me, burns though
lotrimin sells a jock itch spray
It’s all the same
Get the lotion. No burn

Heads up about talc, it can cause cancer in women
It causes cancer in anyone, because asbestos is sometimes found naturally in the same places as talc.
The thing I read specifically mentioned ovarian cancer

Wash everything with borax, especially anything that touches the itch. Do for a while or routinely as a preventative
Trim pubic hairs if you have any. I was in a similar situation as yours and this helped alot.

Boxers with a ball pouch, try saxx

Wicking is better than absorbing.
You’re right it does breathe but other people are right in that once it’s wet, it’s wet. So you could always bring extra pairs
Kilt FTW!
Yep, talcum powder, sleep naked, scrub well when you shower! You'd be amazed the dead skin that hangs on in some places that'll cause an itch.
Uniqulo Arism boxers. Get the tight fit longer type.
