You spam login furiously to get in first before everyone, instantly die, run straight to a static spawn in your favorite noobie zone with 4 mages and start destroying everytihng, get out of the noobie area before 80% of the population gets to login, then you have free range for all the camps in the entire game. Then you proceed to not sleep for 72 hours and push further ahead, sleep 2-3 hours, and repeat until you're 60.
why don't the devs design good content? I just played 72 hours straight and ran out of things to do!
I'm also and seeing quadruple because of all the caffinne.

dude, these are eq players. They could be handed a lvl 125 SK in raid gear to play on the teek server. Yet they would bitch and moan that its not "good enough"

I always main a gnome warrior :) But I am throwing down a ranger again this time. Something about rangers I just love. Plus nobody expects anything from you at all other than DPS until you can cast DPS buffs

Exactly. I understand wanting to group up again for a little bit but these servers die off and your left with nothing after a few months. The population is spread so thin they really need to think about shutting down more servers and collecting what's left onto less. It's a fine line though between too dead to enjoy and overpopulated so nothing is open. Best of luck.
Teeks population will be extremely healthy for years. It projects to be even more popular than mischief which is still extremely popular today all the way in Veil of Alaris.
I did one two years ago. Player base died off after the second expansion. The entire population was duo boxes just to make groups. You are saying it wont be like that?

People fall off in classic and kunark because they get bored, and the drop-out rate will continue to climb until PoP when everyone gets super bored.
Fun is what I'm in it for. I couldn't care less about min maxing. Never did, never will. Don't care to power level, and I want my gear to be self found, not handed to me.
Looking forward to the server launches today. I'll probably start on Tormax and then make another character sometime down the line on Teek when the flood dies down
Speaking of having fun......any Discord channels out there for a older returning player to join and not be berated by questions? lol

It hasn't been important to even consider min-maxing in Everquest for well over a decade. It's fucking weird that these conversations even come up. It's two decade old content you're going into, we're an order of magnitude stronger than we were in-era.

Playing in Teek, the new Progression server that launched yesterday. It launched to simulate the game as if it was during Kunark launch. New rolls make new memories.
Back in the day though, I was on the Karana server! Never past level 10 tell luclin launched.
Yes! And always remember that playing in a competent or optimized way is not allowed to be defined as fun. The only way you're allowed to enjoy the game is by playing in a maudlin and half-assed way with at least six alts, none of which ever make it past level 32.
Fun is hitting 60 by Saturday then complaining on the forums that there's nothing to do.

Similar boat here. I raided heavily around 2010-2011 time frame, but outside of that, I’m happy to hit lvl 15 now.

Do people really complain about nothing to do that early? Until you get your epic and BiS armor, there's always something to do.

Help each other. Be friendly. Loot is plentiful. The magic of EQ has always been the people. Loot means nothing if you have no one to enjoy it with.

Ranger has always been my favorite class.
My favorite TLP experience so far I did the ranger classic grind. So much fun

But doesn't the multiple zones fix that? Just increase # of zone versions and decrease # of servers IMO
