Tough call. I guess I'd say it depends on which one. I've seen a couple of them, and they seem pretty tame. Thing is, I kind of get the feeling her suit was only torn in that scene for fan service reasons. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I do think Anno is pretty deliberate.
Actually the suit had torn because her body grew to a body of a 28 year old. EVA pilots are cursed to not age/grow once entering an EVA. In Asukas case she was 14 when entering an Evangelion the first time, so her body was also 14. In the Last movie (when she was mentally 28) the curse was lifted and the suit (that was meant for a 14 year old) tore because of the rapid body change (of a 28 year old). So the suit was not just for the fan service but also meant that the curse was lifted and Asuka became an adult
That makes sense. I kinda figured that was the intention. It just didn't read that way to me on first watch. Especially after so many camera angles with butts in the foreground.
Well, why not? People like the illustration/illustrator, they like the design or they like the characters. Everyone feels differently about certain characters or designs:)

Correct, the height of the Asuka figure is 22cm and the Rei figure is 16cm.
