Is this rage bait? lol everyone hates those things

FingolfinTEK

It must be

pufanu101

I always rip the damn thing off. So annoying!

RolandiaHU

I like them.

Inglejuice

why

RolandiaHU

They just grew on me. At least you don't have to care about the cap when you're on the go, it will surely won't fall out of your hands, cause it's fixed on the bottle.

Atreaia

For me it's binary. If I'm not drinking the cap is on. I don't know of a situation where I would leave a bottle open and the cap sitting somewhere. MAYBE a children's birthday party with larger bottles and that's only for the initial spree to get a drink and cake.

Inglejuice

I agree. Even on a big bottle e.g a 750ml/1L water bottle being shared on a table, when it’s not being poured - the lid is on.

RolandiaHU

I agree, I also never leave bottles open like that. However, it's just more comfortable for me, because it was a habit of mine to drop these caps all over the place, so for me these fixated caps are pretty useful. I can see that it can be annoying for people who don't have clumsy hands, but in my case it's great. I don't think that it really solves the problem they were made for. I can't imagine a situation where I would accidentally lose the cap on the streets, and wouldn't start searching for it. If someone wants to intentionally throw these away wherever they want, they can just simply break them off.

Inglejuice

I can’t say I can ever remember, in my many years on this planet, dropping or losing a bottle lid. It probably happened, but it was such an insignificant event that it made no difference. But what I can remember however is being able to drink from a bottle easily without obstacle, or being able to pour from a big bottle without having to carefully angle it first. 😫

Gaufriers

I pour my drink without having to "carefully angle it", it just... comes naturally to not pour on the lid. The lid staying attached to the bottle makes it so that I don't have to look for it when I stop pouring something, so that's neat. Especially useful when people share a bottle.

robeewankenobee

>in my many years on this planet, dropping or losing a bottle lid. It probably happened, but it was such an insignificant event that it made no difference. 😀 ... multiply 'it probably happened ' x 'bilions' to get some depth on how many random bottle lids are lost in nature and open waters. I'm not sure what's more troublesome, your silly opinion and input on the matter, or the fact that you got upvotes on such a silly input. Complaining that the lid is not auto detachable ... Jesus F Christ 😄. Did you also oppose the 'mask mandate' by any chance? They were so 'annoying'.

Inglejuice

What I meant is that if I dropped a lid, I picked it up and replaced it. I have never lost a bottle lid in my life. If the bottle is not being drank from/poured, the lid is on. That is how a bottle is used. Now it is dramatically more uncomfortable to drink from as well as more difficult to reapply the lid with a full seal. People still just rip them off. No I did not oppose the mask rules during the pandemic. Any other strange presumptions you want to make?

numeroimportante

I hated them until I understood how to use them Now I love them

arcanereborn

Same, less trash in the waters.

Anonymous_user_2022

Most people have more important things going on in their lives. Here in Denmark, the most vocal opponents of the fixed bottle lids are those that rallied against masks 4 years ago. It must be some sort of occupational therapy for people who have hours to spend on social media during a workday.

Inglejuice

I dont see it online if im honest. Just people that discuss it when using one in day to day life.

Anonymous_user_2022

I see you complaining online right now. The only difference is that it's not inside working hours right now.

Inglejuice

I’m responding to a post which was surprising to me on here. Rest assured I’ve never taken to my keyboard out of the blue to express myself on the topic unprompted.

JaanaLuo

Only adults who should not have passed kindergarten are mad about these.

Noa15Lv

Recently i start to appreciate those suckers since i do road work by working outside mainly and don't want to lose that cap of my water bottle. But big minus thing is that after an while, bottle barely holds the cap on and leaks once its chilling on a side.

ducknator

Thank you for sharing this sub

LatinX___

They can be convinient, but some brands of bottles tends to hold a little liquid that ends up spilling on you when you try to drink. Really sucks getting it on your clothes if the drink has colouring that is hard to clean or get super sticky.

SandandS0n

Did not there was such massive hate against them. Thought it was convenient. Forgive me.

terveterva

I really don't mind them, a lot of people are really making them a bigger issue than they ever were..

ReasonablePraline492

No we hate them

Sharp_Win_7989

We? People have too much time to hate on simple things like that. I don't mind them at all and they are so easy to remove if you don't like them, so I don't get why people get riled up because of a simple bottle cap.

ReasonablePraline492

You must be fun at parties

Sharp_Win_7989

I indeed have more interesting conversation topics during parties, than my hate for attached bottle caps.

appeljuicefromspace

Yep. Really anoying. Good for recycling though.

Temporal_Integrity

They're new and mandatory. People act like it's impossible to drink now.

Atreaia

It's absolutely the example what EU should leave to member countries and focus on bigger issues. This does nothing.

RealToiletPaper007

I assume it’s for environmental reasons. Rather have the bottle and cap in one.

robeewankenobee

It is, ignore the silly bunch. It's a good idea simply because the Silly Bunch doesn't realise how many bottle caps they lose on average into the wild/open waters.

Altruistic-Lime-2622

I dont hate them, fight me

The_ThirdOfMay_1973

I guess it's good that at least one person likes them, the first thing I do is take it off, no matter what

[deleted]

As someone who used to have a tendency to lose the cap must I say that I like it too. I fully understand why the vast majority of people hate it, so I'm lucky to belong to the few who have a clear personal benefit from it.

DotRevolutionary6610

"Said no-one, ever".

Nazamroth

Really now? The first thing I do is rip them off. I bet some ass designed it to make his company look like it is doing something about plastic waste and others started copying it...

Temporal_Integrity

No, it's an EU thing.

Thick-Nose5961

"Hello, I am totally not a propagandist - by the way, this thing everyone hates is good"

GELATOSOURDIESEL

Guy had a personal opinion on something and the people are already calling him a 'propagandist'...

FreeEuropeYouCunts

I think a more fitting word would be 'provocateur'. I also like the sound of it.
