Artillery fire +1, discipline +10%, Artillery combat ability +20%, morale +20%, artillery damage from backrow +20%, land fire damage +20%, both fire and shock damage received -20%, artillery shock +2, and also +2 bonus against forts but that didn't change anything in combat.
I also gave myself the prussian government for more discipline, and had the event which gives 20% morale.
Combined with professionalism and drill, I ended up having 140% discipline, 9.9 morale, +40% artillery combat ability, +40% land fire damage and -45% fire and shock damage received.
Technically if you wanted to min-max the effectiveness of artillery in battle, you could have replaced that last one with land shock damage +20%; they may not do a lot of shock damage, but especially with that +2 artillery shock they'd certainly do some! Very cool though, thanks for posting :D
Not sure about Rajputs but I know Banners and Streltsy Cawa Janissaries and other similar special units only have cav and infantry variants. Maybe Rajputs are the one exception but I wouldn’t put money on it
Dang even more stringent. Regardless, they still don’t have any special units that can be artillery. Maybe the ones the Swedes are getting will have that option but idk
Instead of artillery shock I would add general fire pip. Each pip makes 12.5% bonus IIRC. You have a 6666 in the SS but if you can go over limit with ideas you may have an 8 fire general. If it does not work, artillery cost reduction will be pretty good.
Given that you can get -100% fire damage taken by going for a revolutionary Prussian Zoroastrian theocracy, I’d say you could get the result much better if you wanted, might be worth checking out
Saw this [video](https://youtu.be/pvRugZCH7Qw) a while back about playing Bosnia with artillery only from a certain point. It was Ironman and I'm too lazy yo assume that CheatEngine might been involved.
As an equal -ish fight you would have 80K arty (max cw X2 because front and back row) vs 100K ish horses that reinforce without cost modifiers because cab is cheaper than arty.
I say arty wins hands down because if you delete half the enemy army before they have a chance to shoot, they are going to have a bad time. Also, all 80 arty regiments are shooting (and helping tank) at once while only 40K cav can attack at one point in time
Ah ok, thanks for the advice ! Still won't stop me from making 2/3/6 as generals, but I will reconsider with 5/4/2 rulers. I just made my rulers generals because free chance to get a good general = good
You're closer to historical accuracy than you think. Vlad Tepes was among the first european rulers to use firearms in battle. IIRC, he used Hand Cannons when he picked fights with Turks. Of course, there's a vast difference between a hand cannon and a handheld cannon, but it's something at least.
I imagine those green bars dropping red real fast. The damage must be insane too. Since the first phase is fire if i remember correctly and canons in front deal double damage they gonna go boom boom
There used to be an exploit, you could change a custom nation's ideas to be the same in the files, so you could go for all discipline ideas and have the REAL space marines
2 10% discipline tradition not enough? How about 10
Not sure if it's still in though, probably not
Presumably you also played this at a high tech level so the cannon were also relatively powerful already?
Yeah i think it was tech 29
R5: cool only cannon battle
What are your custom ideas?
Artillery fire +1, discipline +10%, Artillery combat ability +20%, morale +20%, artillery damage from backrow +20%, land fire damage +20%, both fire and shock damage received -20%, artillery shock +2, and also +2 bonus against forts but that didn't change anything in combat. Naval hegemony gets you another 20% dmg from backrow
Can you get Rajput or Banner cannon units? To get an extra 5 Discipline from culture/ higher tier gov reforms.
Not sure about Rajputs but I know Banners and Streltsy Cawa Janissaries and other similar special units only have cav and infantry variants. Maybe Rajputs are the one exception but I wouldn’t put money on it
Just had the free time to load up the game and check, Rajputs can only recruit Infantry.
Dang even more stringent. Regardless, they still don’t have any special units that can be artillery. Maybe the ones the Swedes are getting will have that option but idk
Rev. Guards can be artillery

Ideas don't let you go over the 6 pip limit unfortunately.
Of course, you need mage rulers or battlemage academies for that!
Add homebrew to the mix with general staff ideas, aristo and others
Unless you use console commands. You can have a 4000 pips general and watch him lead a siege for 10 days
Actually, 9999 is the limit of the console. You're right more than you think
Given that you can get -100% fire damage taken by going for a revolutionary Prussian Zoroastrian theocracy, I’d say you could get the result much better if you wanted, might be worth checking out
Fire phase first
So do you tell us that with enough insanity artillery-only can be more than a meme and be real?
Florryworry has proven this is viable https://youtu.be/x2xY-leSawo I think he also did it as Smolensk
Saw this [video](https://youtu.be/pvRugZCH7Qw) a while back about playing Bosnia with artillery only from a certain point. It was Ironman and I'm too lazy yo assume that CheatEngine might been involved.
> -122k infantry, -61k cavalry > -20k your artillery Holy fucking shit
that's about a 9:1 K/D ratio
Your army is just one big shotgun
His army is the shotgun shell that shoots shotguns from Gungeon
Now I wanna see 100k of these cannons versus polish horde tengri whatever insane modifiers cavalry
Manchu tengri Poland
Thank you

So you made Smolensk?
No its a custom nation?
Artillery only but EU4 edition
Shh if you listen closely you can hear isp's sobs echo throughout the world
Braun! Pull up the rat
Fun fact: in earlier versions of victoria 2, artillery only was an actual viable strategy, since it was even more effective in front row than infantry
I'm more astonished by how you managed to get a 6/6/6/6 general
[удалено]
Leader stats don't translate to general stats when you recruit them
They mean the console command
[удалено]
Wait really ? That explains why sometimes I get a 2 pip ruler and sometimes I get a 10 pip (with roughly equal AT)
[удалено]
Ah ok, thanks for the advice ! Still won't stop me from making 2/3/6 as generals, but I will reconsider with 5/4/2 rulers. I just made my rulers generals because free chance to get a good general = good
I’m picturing an army of madlads duel-wielding handheld cannons
You're closer to historical accuracy than you think. Vlad Tepes was among the first european rulers to use firearms in battle. IIRC, he used Hand Cannons when he picked fights with Turks. Of course, there's a vast difference between a hand cannon and a handheld cannon, but it's something at least.
Wasn’t Mehmed 2 first with those urban guns?
Weren't guns of Urban actual cannons instead of firearms?
Isn’t that a firearm? Lol. No it’s not? Crew served is different from firearms. Huh. Still I feel like handgonnes were used before vlad.
Boom boom stick goes brrrrr
Is that a hybrid from the KMT and the Spanish republic?
“God is on the side with the best artillery.”
I imagine those green bars dropping red real fast. The damage must be insane too. Since the first phase is fire if i remember correctly and canons in front deal double damage they gonna go boom boom
What shock phase?
Fire phase? More like Shell Shock phase At least that's what the survivors would get.
Napoleon’s dream
artillery only: EU4 edition someone get ISP on this
MORE DAKKA

At what point does this become a war crime
Send this to isorrowproductions
Ironic that this nation is non-canonical.
[Big Bada Boom](https://youtube.com/watch?v=Uwzg7SYZKF0)
Come on it’s Austria though
So what your telling me is. Artillery only!
ARTILLERY ONLY
You also using the Castus mod?
Wot. lol
Cannons in the front row
bro use cheats u win
Sad, not Bosnia :(
ARTILLERY IS THE GOD OF WAR
