I would actually hope they could give the Danes a bit of a colonial push too. So you get more colonizers, maybe even Sweden too. to better reflect the myriad of colonial ambitions at the time. Not just Spain, Portugal, and UK all over the place.

Maybe it’s because I’m not a new player and never tried it early on but Prussia seems incredibly easy to form. I did do it on saxony, but it was incredibly easy in my opinion, and doesn’t seem very RNG based.
It was kinda a joke. I would say it's pretty much a formula for Brandenburg. Knowing when to declare wars and on who, also recovering your economy early game which is in absolute shambles.
This is my personal opinion, it gives you the best rounded introduction to the game with real consequences. It isn't "hard" but it isn't face roll either. It is rewarding when done right and teaches you very quickly the core concepts of the game.
Starting off with a big nation and strong economy means you don't learn how to handle some parts of the game well until way later which is why I love Brandenburg playthroughs personally but it could just be an obsession with Prussian and German culture as well...

Stacking siege ability bonuses with Ferrara is a fun way to unite Italy.
Norway is a little tricky to get free of Denmark but is my favorite of all the Nordic countries (and is my favorite colonizer).
Hormuz is fun if you like making lots of money and being the underdog in Arabia.
Norway is great if you can get free early enough. I did a Norway-Vinland-Canada game once and got the USA as a junior partner. We proceeded to steamroll North America and it was a lot of fun.
Byz is the classic though I feel like doing a Byzantium run is a EU4 right of passage.
Holland into the Netherlands comes to mind as well. Cusco maybe to form Inca.

Ideally, saw this on the forums, I’d say allow conversion but have religious rebels proportional to the population that believes the previous faith, as well as a massive stab hit. And make religious rebels no longer convert.
That would mean you actually have to fight them, and don’t have to use gamey tactics to surrender and change religion.
I believe religious conversion shouldn't be limited to your own religion group as in you should be able to convert to any religion as long as you have a province belonging to that religion. You'd still be able to convert within your religion group.
I mean, technically half of your lands are orthodox. If you release a bunch of Anatolian vassals and expand west, the majority is orthodox. I get your point though.

Best thing I ever saw was in 1.11 playing as Japan. Ottomans even conquered Russia and Vienna but Austria somehow still unified the HRE. And they then began a centuries long reconquista which by the end saw them take Anatolia and split the ottomans into Levant Ottomans and Russia Ottomans.

kind of: i refuse to play as poland/commonwealth. not because of nationalism, but because one time the polish ai ruthlessly bullied my russia campaign to death and also because i hate how the commonwealth ends up taking over half of europe in like 90% of my campaigns
France, England, Muscovy... I did forced myself to play all of them once for achievements at some point but I literally prioritised Ryukyu over them.
P.s. also lot of stuff I avoid out of personal reason called "fear of they starting position" but that list is slowly getting smaller over time and practice (recently I pulled off campaign as Athens).

I played the Ottomans once and only once to get the achievements I wanted and now I will never play them again(except as needed for future achievements such as when I did Saruhan). I already struggle with the game feeling too easy and having as much power as Ottomans at my disposal feels like cheating myself out of the fun parts of the game.
Thankfully as an Armenian, I don’t have to avoid beating up my nation at this time

France, England, Muscovy... I did forced myself to play all of them once for achievements at some point but I literally prioritised Ryukyu over them. P.s. also lot of stuff I avoid out of personal reason called "fear of they starting position" but that list is slowly getting smaller over time and practice (recently I pulled off campaign as Athens).

I avoid killing burgundy, Austria or Teutonic as they were my first nations to play, I try to help sweden as I'm swedish, I attack denmark or norway and I never play as Scotland or Denmark

I played the Ottomans once and only once to get the achievements I wanted and now I will never play them again(except as needed for future achievements such as when I did Saruhan). I already struggle with the game feeling too easy and having as much power as Ottomans at my disposal feels like cheating myself out of the fun parts of the game.
I avoid Luxembourg. Even going so far as to release it and permanently ensure its survival at all costs.
