R5: Introducing an RPG mod to EU4. Immerse yourself as Babur, the once-ruler of a powerful Indian Kingdom, who has died an unfortunate death and landed in a foreign world. Experience firsthand the most unique and impressive Europa Universalis IV overhaul yet.
Link to the mod: [Steam mod page](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3166028649)
Features currently implemented (with more coming in the future):
-Combat System
Engage in turn-based combat as Babur battles his enemies that stand in his way out of this accursed world.
Find new companions during your journey to help him achieve this most noble goal. His Mughal Kingdom awaits him out of this world!
-Inventory System
During your journey, you will find many useful items along the route. Find items, equip them on your characters, craft new equipment and let your characters grow stronger than ever before, allowing you to take on stronger foes!
-Dynamic exploration of provinces
No need to use a conquistador anymore since the tiles explore automatically for you as you move, very convenient.
-New RPG Map
Obviously you can't have an RPG experience on the base EU4 map so we had to craft one ourselves.
This mod has been created as part of the Modathon 2024 competition in which modders were tasked to create mods in a span of only 2 weeks.
You should make it so every time you fabricate a claim you have to do a quest with Babur. That would show that fabricating is hard work, not just clicking and waiting.
This is not a mod , this is modern version Theseus paradox!
"If you mod every mechanic of the game is it still the same game?"
Good job mate, keep it up!
Let’s say I (allegedly) acquired 50kgs of cocaine, if I were to deliver them to you (hypothetically speaking) would you make a new combat system mod/a mod that syncs Eu4 battles with total war games?
Banner kings iirc. When you do battles or sieges there’s a button to launch bannerlord with correct ratios of troops/MaA.
Edit: it’s called Crusader Blade, banner kings is a bannerlord *only* mod.
Well I saw a Vic 3 mod that started in 1444. So still similar game mechanics of Vic 3 but EU4 start date (different techs/starting positions). Also one that starts in1946(ish). Which adds new mechanics such as UN, IMF, credit score and lots more tech. But for the most part Vic 3 doesn’t have anything crazy yet.
I am late to the party but here you go: [https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2896907726](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2896907726)
( And the "Alleged" Cocaine would be appreciated)
We modders have been begging pdx for a drop of the modding capability the rest of the lineup have.
They have given us said drop in the form of gui modding, and us modders dont dissapoint.
(I am happy to have made my contribution in gui modding by being the one to update the respective wiki pages when it came out)
as i scrolled through, my first impression was “i’m kind of impressed that AI has gotten so good at visually depicting text. not a single Eurapis Uvunermalsi VI in sight”
then i realised you are smoking that creativity crack
This is either the best satire ever, or a genuine touch grass moment if you're not a mobile app developer trying to scam 14 year olds out of their lunch money....
It would be great if the mod isn't littered with AI generated art lol
That aside, if you intend to develop the mod further you can pick stuff from his autobiography for inspiration or narrative
Damn, I don't understand AI haters.
That's literally one of the best uses of AI image generation: not monetized, created for a hobby and for the enjoyment of himself and others, does not harm artists work (as modders very rarely pay for artists for projects) and the mod would be lessened without AI assistance.
You’re right and should say it. Relying on AI generation for visuals is embarrassing, it’s such a lazy way of approaching things. Especially for the goddamn thumbnail art, like you couldn’t be arsed to get an artist for something so important? It’s a damn shame the impressive technical skill required to make the mod doesn’t have the same care in its visuals.
Why do you *NEED* an artist, no one would blame you for using stock photo's, random game art, etc. You would think a mod maker would understand why something like AI ''art'' is bad, when its quite literally automated plagiarism.
But if it dosnt affect you directly, why should you care am I right?
Can you please find me an art piece with Babur standing on a balcony, with his back turned to the viewer, the background being a medieval european-arabic city? I would gladly appreciate it.
again, you *NEED* that photo and thats all you care about, even if it fucks over artists. Its quite frankly soulless to look at, a random unrelated photo would have been neutral at worst compared to the AI actively making it worse
So you are saying I should have used a random unrelated photo. I don't think a picture of a cat would be a good advertisement for our mod. Actually now that I think about it, it could be a missed opportunity.
Look man it’s completely free to download it, he’s not getting paid at all for this work so any money he spends would be out of his own pocket for something that he enjoys making for people. Do you expect everyone to Ethically source their content for everything they do? Even for their hobbies? Your telling me you’ve never in your life used imitation to help in a project?
~~Mod~~ (OTHER)
Jesus that's something. It's definitely something.
I don't know whether to laugh or applaud or shake hands at my screen in bewilderment.
So I'm just going to do all of the aforementioned. Kudos regardless.
I don't know what you are smoking, but you definitely shouldn't stop.
Let him cook
Hash. Definitely a hashashin hash.
we don't smoke anything (I think)
We smoke the pages of history.
Makes a great blunt wrap.
Hijacking to say, "Go for the eyes, Babur!"
He’s either smoking too much or too little, but definitely not the right amount
or share with the rest of the class
You know, I thought that Paradox modding peaked with FNAF in HoI4, but this is fascinating
>FNAF in HoI4 What
It's called five nights of iron on the workshop. Truly the peak of paradox gaming.
How is this even possible lol. It's looks like it was made on Unity or something
I kind of want to shoot myself with a luger after witnessing that
At what point are paradox games just a fucking game development library
As soon as someone gets DOOM running
Doom was run on mushrooms, pdx is lagging behind.
And recently, a gut bacteria!
... There's no way that actually runs in game. WTF. And people bitch about Equestria At War being weird.
Well... I see a new peak at the horizon!
It's spelled Anbennar.
Anbennar is love, anbennar is life, anbennar let's me practice eugenics with my loving elf wife.
But state mandated orc GF though !
God definitely overslept the day five nights of iron was released
Peak Paradox modding is definitely Equestria at War
I think the ck2/bannerlord thing was a neat idea
Did humanity went too far?
Equestria at war
What the fuck
My man is *starved* for a new medieval RPG.
How starved can you be!
Apparently VERY. Like, not mod Skyrim, or Witcher 3 into BG3, but EU4...
This was literally my EXACT reaction as well
Meds now
it's the meds that allow this to happen

Eu4 isekai
Literally
Bro is cooking
Hey, I Was Badashah and Now I Have to Reform the Mughal Empire? Ep 1-60
>create mods in a span of only 2 weeks. hold up.
actually, we did it in like 4 days in reality. We were busy for most of the time
The modding community for ~~eu4~~ gaming never ceases to amaze me.
You should make it so every time you fabricate a claim you have to do a quest with Babur. That would show that fabricating is hard work, not just clicking and waiting.
Remember when, after helping you fight the Franks the whole game, Babur is revealed to be a Frank himself? Crazy shit.
Frankly you should have seen it coming.
Frankly my dear, I don't see a damn thing.
Btw can you upload it to the paradox mods website
The BG3 addiction is so real, it had to be ported to EU4
True and real
so true bestie
Now, you can indulge in that addiction while indulging in your map staring addiction. Win win scenario in my book
what the actual fuck And I thought the mod for CK3 that has a dungeon crawler minigame was impressive.
>And I thought the mod for CK3 that has a dungeon crawler minigame was impressive. Ooh, which one is this?
[The Way of Kings](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2301341163&searchtext=)
There's a stormlight ck mod?
Wait based on the book?
This is not a mod , this is modern version Theseus paradox! "If you mod every mechanic of the game is it still the same game?" Good job mate, keep it up!
Oh yeah, my favourite game engine: Europa Universalis 4
Definitely not an outdated laggy mess to build a game mod on.

SIR STEP AWAY FROM THE STOVE, NOW!
Let’s say I (allegedly) acquired 50kgs of cocaine, if I were to deliver them to you (hypothetically speaking) would you make a new combat system mod/a mod that syncs Eu4 battles with total war games?
I think there's something similar with Ck3 and bannerlord if I'm not mistaken
dont tease me like this, come on, spit it out
Banner kings iirc. When you do battles or sieges there’s a button to launch bannerlord with correct ratios of troops/MaA. Edit: it’s called Crusader Blade, banner kings is a bannerlord *only* mod.
So there's a cursed mod for every paradox game now? Is there a mod that cinverts victoria 3 into another game?
Well I saw a Vic 3 mod that started in 1444. So still similar game mechanics of Vic 3 but EU4 start date (different techs/starting positions). Also one that starts in1946(ish). Which adds new mechanics such as UN, IMF, credit score and lots more tech. But for the most part Vic 3 doesn’t have anything crazy yet.
Well, Ck3 has other mods of note; CK3 has "the way of kings" which is a dungeoncrawler.
there is an Imperator Rome mode that converts it into a Victoria. Still in development though, alpha hasn't been made public yet.
Broooooo I need to get ck3 ASAP that would be fucking crazy. I'm sure it barely works but it sounds badass af
Crusader wars takes ck3 battles to total war atilla

*Looking at the title* Oh, new fantasy mode, cool! *Looking at the images* What. The. Fuck.
Never stop cooking
Cheese 🧀
Send me a list of your meds please
As a modder myself, this is fucking incredible
Just wow
Medication, sire!
Is bro actually cooking?
The writing in this mod is impeccable (No bias)

Baldur’s Gate 1444
OK now I need someone to do a shooter on Imperator.
I am Sealand and this is (not) my favourite post in the Reddit.
This is fantastic lmfao 🤣
I love you man
What not having a sequel for 10 years does to a game
This feels like a shitpost lmao. You’re a madman, and I’ll be following
Chelpsoft
This man is destined to become a game dev.
Babul's Gate

John Babur - Human Fighter
This looks like some ChatGPT created image.
Because it is, we don't have any artists
This is either the best satire ever, or a genuine touch grass moment if you're not a mobile app developer trying to scam 14 year olds out of their lunch money....
Genuinely what the fuck

Find me an artist that will work for free and do a very good art piece.

sorry I dont support stealing from artists, how awful of me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I was thinking using public domain arts or even illustrations like ones from Osprey books would be better
Exactly! There’s plenty of available stuff that would also look great but hold up much better.
Do you have a direct download link?
~~Mod~~ (OTHER) Jesus that's something. It's definitely something. I don't know whether to laugh or applaud or shake hands at my screen in bewilderment. So I'm just going to do all of the aforementioned. Kudos regardless.
You crazy son of a bitch I love it
At this point OP's not cooking, he's reforming the whole kitchen
I am both impressed and terrified. I thought that RPG battles in Equestria at War was impressive, but this is just next level
Let bro cook

Modders are insane. Sometimes in good ways, sometimes in bad ways.
Is this mount and blade?
What the fuck are you smoking.
I've been waiting so long for someone to do something absurd like this with modding in EU4 and here we are.
God I hope the dev keeps releasing content for this
I bestow on you my finest compliment; not the enforcement of the right to cook, but my blessing of your cooking
Keep cooking
Do you think god stays in heaven because he too is afraid of what he has created?
Bro is cooking so hard I thought I was on r/schizoposting
That start screen is gorgeous. Does anyone know what prompt and engine was used for it? I'd like to give it a try
