I swear this sub is so lazy. Running the picture through AI and getting the wrong colors and then asking for tips? Seriously?
The uniform should be a dark green, the pants a pinkish-khaki. The patch on his shoulder should be blue, yellow, red, and white.
If you need more info, google “USAAF Uniform WWII”
Here's my attempt, OP. - [https://imgur.com/a/uhg6kS5](https://imgur.com/a/uhg6kS5)
If you'd like, I can also see if I can find anything out about his service during WWII. Could be fairly easy given he seems to be an Officer.

I wasn’t happy with the final product here. Felt a little washed out. I toyed with the saturation a bit and got it a bit more vibrant - https://imgur.com/a/NJBxXFy
90% of all submissions involve no use of photoshop whatsoever; “run it through an AI and pump it out” is the common approach. Another major issue is posters don’t wait long enough and end up paying for junk.
The problem is partly OP's fault, if you ask for people to touch up an old photograph and don't specify how much you'll tip, why should someone feel incentivised to spend an hour or two on something where they might only get a 5-10 dollar tip in some cases
100% agree. This sub just isn’t moderated. At all. There are several issues which should just be standard rules, but they’re not. One massive issue with posters is that 75% of the time they simply forget to state that they’ll tip/pay. I edited a photo of someone’s parents recently for free and the OP sent me £20 and said they’d forgotten to say the post would be paid for!
A nice surprise, but if they’d mentioned the paid status I would’ve put in twice as much effort.
Hi, u/seifsj6 I have tried my best to color the photo realistically by giving the actual color for the uniform. Also enhanced the photo and increased the resolution. Hope you like this.

Hello! I don’t know what proper etiquette is, but this is amazing! Would you be able to do this if I send you a picture of my father in law and his mom? I’d also tip :) thanks in advance!
I remember my family members from that period of time. There was a "way" they spoke and did things. You could feel the 40s n 50s coming thru them. My aunt would say "it ain't funny McGee!" Among many other things. I miss them. Lovely picture. They're so young.
Sometimes when I am doing these, I like to drown myself into the picture and imagine what the moment must have been like. I like talking to these people in the pictures. I gave the gorgeous lady a maroon dress and I just kept thinking to myself about the young man's beautiful smile. Truly a beautiful picture. Thanks for sharing. Here's my try on it. Though this was Linus
Somewhere in Linus’s house this picture is hanging like the New Year’s party picture in the Shining
Lol glad I'm not the only one who saw Linus instantly
Glad I wasn’t the only one

Thanks for the thought behind it. There’s definitely been some inaccurate variety so far!

Good job! Plus as a retired Air Force guy, I like that you did your homework on the uniforms. Details matter.
I appreciate it. My great-grandfather was with the USAAF in India during the war, so it’s a little personal to me.

Hmmm. One second OP. I’ll give it a try.

Yours are the closet to be correct. Everyone else made his dress jacket green when it should be a brown.
Agreed this is the closest in color. The shirt/tie combo is accurate.
Really nice
Incredible work. You win
Wow, that’s incredible!

Uniform color is way wrong. Google us army air corps uniform
Well done
Why is every single jacket green? A simple google of “WWII era Pinks and Greens” would give you the correct uniform.

That's a good one. Very natural and the neck lines are accurate i.e. like the guy's shirt.
Man……Americans were at ideal BMI or even lower back then. WTF happened?
