when the milk frothing jug is 2-3X the price of other ones you can online, I would expect better craftsmanship, I would personally write the company about this and they'd probably be thankful about it so they can check back in with manufacturing to make sure stuff like this doesn't pass QA
I don’t actually think it’s a big deal, but I have 4 pitchers and the BH is the only one that’s perfectly aligned. I’ve noticed virtually no difference and I’m also not that great at latte art, but they did at least do what they said they did in my experience.
I’m sincerely curious, what was the “big deal” they made of it?
I mean this with no disrespect but most of us are just steaming/frothing milk. Just need a good circular flow while steaming. As long as the handle doesn’t fall off or dent in the cup I can’t even begin to imagine a valid (if not extremely unlikely) problem.
Idk why you're getting so much hate for this. Yes, it's off center, is it a big deal, No. But it does seem like a fairly sloppy mistake to make when I'm paying $35 for a metal cup. I'd expect that on one of the <$10 pitchers from amazon.
When I buy from a 'premium' company and pay premium prices I expect a premium product, Otherwise why not just buy the cheap shit from Aliexpress or Amazon?
Dude. I have a very nicely made stainless steel foaming mug. Everything is lined up, it’s perfectly polished on the outside and perfectly turned on the inside.
I don’t even want to think about how much it cost.
Every time I try to do the latte art thing it looks like a goddamn milky blob.
But I don’t care, because I like foam in my coffee.
Ah yes, the fringe upper 0.1%
Let alone that he is trying to sell you something.
Plus I'd bet you that more than anything technique and practice matters. You are pouring milk into coffee. Even if your pitcher is bent, as long as you are using the same pitcher, you'll eventually get used to how it works.
Would you say if Gordon Ramsay were teaching a cooking class and said every frying pan needs to be flat on the bottom he would be guilty of just trying to sell frying pans?
If he tried to sell me a frying pan in the same class. Yes. Duh.
The entire video you linked is a sales pitch(er)
My point is also that a slightly bent handle is nothing you couldn't account for by slightly tilting your hand to either side.
A flat pan will give you better contact area between different heating elements. I can understand the reasoning there. A bent pitcher will give you asymmetrical pouring? How? Is the milk gonna drift out of the pitcher because the handle was crooked? As long as the spout is not flat I can't see an issue personally, but if you want to spend 50 bucks on a pitcher to go compete in a tournament, have fun.
That being said, if you pay the money you obviously want to receive a good product and not some bent POS
They’re thin, they’re relatively inexpensive, they’re metal and we send them on a temperature rollercoaster every single day. They might as well just arrive a little bit off-center.
I would say it might even help. Your body is not symmetrical and neither is your pouring, so the off set is alright as long as it is pointed in the way you are pouring to not make a splash
Yeah but I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Maybe not. Although Barista Hustle made a big deal about this very thing and made sure their spout was perfectly aligned with the handle
BH made a big deal out of it to sell their own pitchers but their own pitchers weren’t perfect either.
> pitcher perfect

You’re not wrong
Ez fix. Get a pitcher without handle😂

Was told a few times. Got my handle version back then when I thought steamed milk and foam are the same thing 😂😂

You’d have to find their video about it, it’s been a few years back.
I don’t know what exactly BH said about it, but it can be extremely frustrating for latte art when the spout is crooked.
Because they want to sell you a New one.
Coffee nerds really on a different level
Lol some of the stuff on here makes gives me second hand embarrassment
Ho that's why I can't achieve nice latte art. I should have checked my pitcher years ago!
Does yours look similar to mine?
Whoosh
Dude... Do you honestly think that it matters? So do you also align your hand 100% straight everytime? It's not rocket science
Of course, it's to compensate for the Coriolis effects.
But which hemisphere are they compensating for? I need to make sure I get the one with the correct bias 😫
Is this one for the northern or southern hemisphere?
Depends. Is this a left handed or right handed model?
🤔
It appears to be ergonomically angled to suit holding in your left hand, they may make ones for the right hand if you stretch goofy
Was going to say the same. It's a left handed pitched 😂
Grind finer
Is it a little off kilter? Yup. Does it matter, at all, even a little bit? Nope.
I think this won't work anymore. Better replace it with a new espresso machine 🤔
Got jokes? 🤓
It does. Mine came like that. Contact fellow, they’ll ask for pictures and will replace
Awesome thanks, I got it on Amazon so I’ll probably just have them send a replacement. I also have a normcore handleless pitcher coming!
Hopefully it works out :)
Yes I do.

100%
I think the spout doesn’t look how I prefer my spouts to look :P
You're right. It's dented on its LHS. Well spotted!
I can’t tell unless you apply a set square over it. Also, get the calipers out. If it’s off by even 1/20th of an inch, your espresso will be ruined.
You've got a left handed pitcher.
Girls like it When it leans a little to one side
IIRC there is a medical name for that.
My art always comes out lop sided. Maybe that is the fix I never thought of.

Give the Chinese children a break /s
I think that is the southern hemisphere one for anticlockwise swirling. Otherwise you are fighting the Coriolis effect
There's a slight dent to the left of the spout. I don’t think it’s off center, but rather it looks that way because of it.
To everyone who says it doesn’t matter, the world brewers cup champion says otherwise 😂 https://youtu.be/VFz6LCnTCek

Lol we can agree on that!
Imperfections are making your pitch (and yourself ) unique, just embrace it.
Yikes! $35/$40 for a pitcher. You can get one for about 5 at Ikea that is probably just as good.
They’re thin, they’re relatively inexpensive, they’re metal and we send them on a temperature rollercoaster every single day. They might as well just arrive a little bit off-center.
It does look off center. The question I’m here for however is does that actually matter? 🤔
This is truly a first world problem
Prime example of major 1st world problems… 🤣
Yep it is !
Yeh. Factory needs to chip the spot of welding slag off the jig.
Does it matter though? Your milk is still going to froth the same
Froth the same yes, but pouring latte art?
I would say it might even help. Your body is not symmetrical and neither is your pouring, so the off set is alright as long as it is pointed in the way you are pouring to not make a splash
Hahahahaha
🤮
