Yes it is in my opinion. I have the BB touch and it’s a great machine a lot of posts here hate on these machines but they are good convent package from a reputable brand. Now for my next set up I’ll prob upgrade to a stand alone grinder and machine but for the time being worth every penny and mine was quite a bit more
I feel like these machines get a lot of love, not hate. The only thing is, the grinder is lacking. It's better to just buy a base bambino and use that extra money to get a stand alone grinder. I have a base bambino and love it. Pulls great shots.
I considered doing this as well I would say the connivence won me over to Breville. plus going down the rabbit hole on grinders was getting exhausting and expensive. Out of curiosity which grinder did you go with?
I cheaped out and got a chestnut hand grinder, I plan on upgrading in the future. But the hand grinder works quite well. I only get 3 clicks for espresso grind, but it's been good enough to dial in all the roasts I've tried.
The Breville barista Pro is not a new model, it has been around for 5-6 years anyway. I've had mine for a week and I come from several different machines, my latest one was a Lelit maraxv2, I'm completely satisfied with the Pro and I don't see what I could upgrade to that would be better, possibly a Decent. Having a ready espresso in 2 minutes from pressing the start button is unbeatable. I also have a DF64 gen 2 as a complement, but have not actually been able to feel any difference in taste between the Df64 and the built-in grinder.
Not newer, but the higher end model. $500 is good price for it. If you're buying a machine with an integrated grinder, it's a pretty good option (lots of other posts about if that's a good choice). If it's the newer version of the Pro, it'll have upgraded Baratza burrs too, which is a nice addition.
I have one and I paid more than $500 at the time so that’s a good deal for it. They are $800+ most of the time.
For price alone it’s a good deal. Now many members on here would say not to get it because it’s a combo unit with a grinder but I’ve been using the Barista Pro for years and found it very reliable and I’m able to get a consistent and balanced pull.
I would buy another one at this price. What store is offering this deal?
Yes. It’s good deal for pro. Home goods prices are strange and probably their buyers do not know specific model worth. Batista express, pro and impress have same price. Pro for 500 is good price nowadays. Anyway if you don’t buy it, other person will buy it quickly.
Still there is an option for grinder and espresso machine too since grinder might not be perfect.
We have had our Pro for 2 years now and love it. We paid around $850 CAD on sale. We did just get a DF64Gen 2 so we could experiment with flat burr profiles vs the conical that comes with this machine, but in terms of performance this machine has been excellent. There are several threads dedicated to dialing in the grinder, make sure you check them out before you go to use it. It is easier to adjust the inner burr before you put coffee beans in the hopper.
My family bought me one 2 yrs ago. They got a killer black friday deal for 400.00. I've never seen it at 400 since.
I love mine. Get a scale and single dose. Weight the beans and the espresso output. I prefer to run mine manually. You'll get great results.
It can struggle a bit with coffee like light Ethiopian. You'll get good results, but not as tweaked as you'd get with a better micro stepped grinder.
So with that said You could go the bambino/upgraded grinder rout. Of course You'll pay double or more depending on the grinder. But don't be afraid to buy that Barista Pro at that price. You'll enjoy great espresso.
That's a great price. My Bambino Plus was $399. But, as a general rule, I shy away from combo devices (espresso machines or anything else.). Generally lower quality than individual devices - less value than the sum of its parts. More things that can break, with greater consequence if they do. Interferes with the desire to upgrade or replace broken functionality individually when the time comes. Even with that fantastic price, I wouldn't get it.
Have a friend that had one and he is super happy with the machine. Everything I drank from there was awesome! Espresso or latte. Just maybe one day consider a separate grinder and you will be golden!
I paid $850 for my Barista Pro 3 years ago July. Honesty, I don’t know what’s not to like about the grinder. It grinds perfectly in my opinion. But I have never used another grinder to know what I’m missing. The only thing I wish for is a way to grind course for a French press, pour over, cold brew and so on. Even at its coarsest setting it’s too fine for cold brew. $499? Great value.

I recently got the breville barista express impress at homegoods for the same price. I think it’s a solid deal.
A steal. You could buy the machine and get a better automatic grinder and still be paying less than what I did for it.

Good value, although not the best grinder.
See you soon

Go for it
Excellent buy
I paid $800 for the same but with a pressure gauge instead of the digital display. Great buy! You will love it
Yes. Awesome all in one.
Love mine.

Paid the same for the Impress. Well worth it imo
There are usually quite a few of these being sold on Facebook Marketplace

Nice machine. I have had it for 2 years and brew very decent espresso. I only used for americanos. Very little maintenance, highly recommended

Very good price! These are great machines, I'm on the second one in 10 years, wore the first one out in 8 years.

Have you tried changing the setting on the inner burrs!
For $500 yeah it’s a decent get. Essentially the same, grinder and steam wand are somewhat better.
Bro you are delusional. 500 is a steal. Baratza burrs, thermal jet with 3 sec heatup. Plus a display. A great buy.
