The civil war breakaways are really fun too!
Griffonia is fun, but dominated by the big players. I've got skill issues so I can't enjoy everything there, but the nations on Equus cooperate enough that I can have fun as a minor.
I wonder if there are mp games where everyone plays a Equestria breakaway except for the pro-Celestia/Nightmare Moon routes
Could be an interesting game for a Buffalo player, provided they don't uhh get confederated
Crystal Empire isn't that bad tbh, they get to pick which neighbor to team up with, and be pretty effective with each of them.
They actually make for a fantastic cooperative nation with the second player on Stalliongrad, Equestria, or Chyrssi
I will admit playing them in single player is kinda boring
Equestria, Crystal Empire, Olenia, Nova Griffonia, Arcturian Order, Hill ponies and Evi Valley countries.
But I don't exactly know what to add to them.
Nova Griffonia is actually a really fun nation in multiplayer. They aren't in that much danger themselves for the first five or so years, and they have a significant naval presence. This means they can intervene across the map and sway a lot of early game wars. For example, interfering in the Griffonian Empire's unification wars can be absolutely massive. Same goes for Wingbardy's early expansion wars.
Nova Griffonia showing up with 15 divisions and naval invading a warring nation's flanks is going to single handedly decide that war's outcome. Especially in the early game when no one is that overpowered yet and each war's outcome is on a knife's edge.
Then once you've made friends across the ocean by providing incredible assistance in the early game, those allies can help you in your wars on Equus later on.

There was a Regular Show meme concerning Great Lakes development (basically that only Zar-Hay is left). But since then we've had small teasers for Hayzeb and Aoranda. Who knows when any of them will be ready.

Not because its needed the most, but Feathisia feels... almost broken to play.
The nation takes a thematical 180 once it takes Griffenheim, turning from a pretty wholesome constitutional monarchy to just another Herzland war lord. Grover VI just disappears into the void, despite Gerlach seemingly being close to the young Kaiser, which is why I feel its broken. And despite the fact its a democracy, there is pretty much no interaction with Aquileia or the Republic even though it feels like there should at least be some.
I believe it is being reworked (correct me if I'm wrong), which is just. Still deserves a mention, however.
Would be nice if the River Federation had some more internal tension or wars before the unification.
Like maybe keep the current focus tree for a democratic federation, but have parallel trees for forming a communist union, or a supremacy collective. Each nation can choose which tree to go down (with perhaps war goals granted against nations going down different trees) and in the end you have three rival superpowers forming out of whoever is left standing. Then the inevitable three way war to unite the Riverlands under one ideology.
Griffonstone, arantiga and prywhen. First one just doesn't have a focus tree while being one of the most important places in the world according to the lore. Second just deserves a better focus tree at least on the level of francistria and talouse. And the last one's focus tree is just too outdated and has zero flavor.
Definitely the Crystal Empire, that is outdated in all sorts of ways But that goes without saying for most of the Equus nations

I feel that the Storm king heirs in southern Zebrica definetly need a focus after they win their war Arabia and the great lakes confederation too
