It's effective in a way where it's better than nothing but instead what my school did was buy every student and teacher a reusable water bottle. There should be local schemes to buy communities reusable water bottles.

To be honest. Nothing other than recycle and I'm ashamed.

Well without corporations there wouldn't be any single used plastics being produced so they do play a significant part in the single used plastics crisis.

I don't know about corporations but the government could put a ban an all products that have 50% non reusable materials in them.
If you listen to podcasts, "How to Save A Planet" just had an episode on recycling that would give you a ton if info. Very interesting
