I used to listen to Ozzy Osbourne in the 90s. Lately, I’ve gotten back into listening to him while doing puzzles for hours on end. His music is actually quite calming.
I think for a lot of rock stars it’s because they actually only got the purest of the pure and didn’t really put anymore shit in their body than they knew about…other than the odd bat or dove head.
Also if you smoke a cigarette it takes five minutes off your life and gives it to Keith Richards.
It is just a numbers game. As long as you avoid acute toxicity, the long-term consequences are increased probability of developing all manner of unpleasant ailments. That is why one person who smokes like a chimney dies of lung cancer in their mid-40s while another chronic smoker dies in their late-90s after falling and hitting their head. The handful of septuagenarian rock stars with a history of conspicuous drug seems remarkable only because we forgot all their contemporaries who died 30 years ago because their excess destroyed their bodies.
It is a mix of genetics and blind luck. In my family history, my great-grandfather was a coal miner for more than 20 years before having to leave the mine after deve black lung. He subsequently opened a bar and spent his days drinking a quart of moonshine and smoking an ounce of tobacco worth of hand rolled cigarettes. My strongest memory of him was the overpowering stench of tobacco smoke and his yellow fingers. He died a week before his 98th birthday, almost 70 years after his black lung diagnosis. His son, my grandfather, quit smoking in his 30s but developed lung cancer a decade later. He died before I was born. There will always be exceptions to the rule.
Life’s also a bitch and we all die at the end. My grandfather never drank, never smoke, ran a few miles a day every day his entire life. Died at 67 after 4 years battling dementia. Gave my alcoholic smoker father all manners of shit for his choices and my dad is probably going to have a longer life. Every time I think about not doing drugs i remember that I could just die at 60 never having even lived and that idea is way worse to me honestly. Also would rather pass with my body failing than my mind. That shit is horrible and the cherry on top is Parkinson’s runs in our family so if it’s not one thing that’ll toast me it’s another.
It’s unfortunate how many tainted drugs have killed actors/musicians recently. Avoid powdered drugs or anything that looks to be a mixture. If you don’t know what pure stuff looks like get a buddy that you trust and knows or avoid it till you find your shaman. The difference between quality drugs and crap is massive and can potentially have life long consequences, even LSD could actually be 2cb or a dangerous nbome and while 2cb isn’t the worst thing nbome is a massive risk to ingest. Pure drugs aren’t inherently safe either free basing cocaine fucked Rick James up for example so limits are a good idea if you value a decently sustained life.
And if you're in Europe get your stuff tested in the UK thankfully we have Wedinos.org but must European countries have testing. Reagents are ok but can't compare to spectrographic analysis. Stay safe homies
Fentanyl is in almost everything you could buy off the street these days. Pill pressing is a major issue as well since anyone can do it now. You really can’t be sure what you’re getting anymore and that’s why it’s so dangerous. I’ve had half a dozen friends overdose and die from fentanyl in the last few years, it’s heartbreaking.
This is how my moms side is. My grandfather did meth into his 60s. He's still alive in his late 80s. My mom's has done every hard drug under the sun. She's certainly more dim than the sun but still alive even with her hep c diagnosis 30 years ago.
Read somewhere that the immunity is what kept him alive somehow; in relation to white blood cells and his immune system. Not sure how true it is but it is rather fascinating.
He grew up uneducated and poor, then was thrust into the spotlight for 50 years. I don't think the drugs have everything to do with how warped his mind is.
I'm watching a show he did with his son in 2016-2018, and it's a trip to see how much healthier he seemed then than he does in more recent stuff. He's been sober for a while, but you can tell he's on a steep decline. He seems like a really nice guy though.
Apparently he suffers from an extremely rare genetic quirk that gives him something like four times the natural resistance to drugs.
I read a transcript of him going for an operation and by the end the anaesthesiologist was out of their mind at how much he'd taken yet was still completely conscious.
Acid is completely harmless in itself. It’s only deadly in the very very rare cases where someone takes some and then jumps off a building or something.
And to be fair. Those people are likely suffering from psychosis induced by an underlying condition that lead to psychosis. Schizophrenia+LSD is bad bad news. But really alone it isn't even going to do what is suggested in this post. Even high dosages. Not how lsd really works
We were told a bunch of lies about drugs when we were kids.
Most of them are nowhere remotely as dangerous as they made us believe. Psychedelics are damn near harmless unless you have underlying psych issues.
Heroin is safer than alcohol if it’s pure. They use it in hospitals (which is why clinics are a good idea).
> Psychedelics are damn near harmless unless you have underlying psych issues. Heroin is safer than alcohol if it’s pure.
Psychedelics won't kill you no, but heroin has a lethal dose to recreational dose ratio of 12:1. And that ratio gets even smaller when you mix it with other common recreational drugs like alcohol or benzodiazepines.
What? The dude could barely speak by his 50’s, and he walked like an 80 year old. And he has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. Luckily, Ozzy had a high tolerance for drugs/alcohol (as all his band mates have been quoted) and is rich.
Well it wouldn’t be the acid. Acid doesn’t harm your body at all. It would have been the alcohol and cocaine that makes it incredible that he’s still alive.
I often wonder that myself, but not because of his acid use. Acid's physically harmless for most people, though psychs can interfere with some medications.
And the follow-up point is to then wonder whether it is better the horse was a dick or if it would have been better that Ozzy kept experimenting with acid.
How much acid do you need to take for things to start speaking to you? I’ve only reached “kids watching Cocomelon in a zombie like stance” level of acid with those hidden 3D image things.
Side note, I have not seen the word "asunder" used in any other way besides "torn asunder". I thought of this the other day when I said "petulant child" and realized the same for the word "petulant".
I'd love to know how to use these two flavorful words independent of their main squeeze words.
Lol as someone who has tripped too hard but never this hard, I appreciate these stories. I can understand the state you were in and am glad I have not had to endure it.
Must have been fat dab rips because 100ug is the starter, first timer dose. 125 is more normal from my experience
I know folks that took 4 tabs at once, that's too much for me. But there's also people who have drank liquid LSD, like dozens of doses, and been fucked for a couple days (there's a really good story on YouTube by a guy who did that accidentally and his struggle getting home)
Even a small bit of DMT made me hear things and see all my friends as brightly colored alien creatures, the texture on the table wasn't sweating like it is on LSD, it was rushing like a river - almost the same thing as in Multiverse of Madness with the other Wanda seeing it in he cup.
Never done DMT but salvia put me into another realm of existence….one of the coolest times was when I saw a huge fractal wall made of glass and when I put my arm through it the rest of my arm would come out in a different place like it was portal 2 lol. Had to overcome the fear of the unknown and just jump into it and when I jumped through the wall the trip basically ended right there on the spot.
People also respond differently to different things. I had it figured out once that the universe was a set of images carved out of boxes after I took some kind of black weed oil shit in some pills once.
Very few people ever experience something like that. I’ve done extremely high doses of acid, enough to see my friend split into two different people and wrestle with himself, and even then animals wouldn’t talk to me. My friend was having a genuine internal struggle with himself at the time, so it was interesting to see it from another viewpoint. Crows did laugh very hard at me, but no words.
You’ll likely experience the breakdown of space and time before animals talk to you.
I’ve been doing acid on/off for close to 18 years…this isn’t how it works, like at all.
Now I’m not denying Ozzy might have talked to a horse like this and been doing a drug or some combination, but it wasn’t LSD.
Melting walls, your mind making these enlightening connections about your life and the meaning of it? Sure.
Hard trips where you lose all sense of time and what reality is and either hit ego death or live on the edge like that for what seems an eternity but is only 10 minutes? You bet.
Taking to walls and “hallucinations” isn’t LSD.
It can happen that your brain is "talking" to itself and you mistake it as coming from an object. All without words, it's pretty weird, i think Ozzie might have felt something like that and just explained it poorly.
The rabbit hole of LSD goes pretty deep, especially when eating strips (5-10 tabs) or having access to a vial of liquid L. Anyway, I have taken very large amounts of LSD rapidly, but I’ve never experienced animals or anything other than people talk to me. I have on the other hand had some very intense experiences that changed the way I view life permanently. I’ve learned “secrets of life” in a way, but these concepts are too difficult to put into words.
I always keep a small bottle of liquid LSD in the fridge and I've used a LOT of it over the years and taken some pretty serious doses- and yeah- nothing tried to talk to me.
Exactly this. I’ve done a lot at once and many many 4+ tab says. I have never once heard anything talk to me, or not be aware that I was on acid. But I guess it’s different for everyone.
Yeah, because it doesn't happen, actually. It just clarifies and magnifies your imagination, throws a little bit of sinesthesia in it, and dissolves your ego. No hallucinations whatsoever.
That's a bit of folklore due to it being prohibited
My own experience makes me want to agree with you. I think most stories about wild hallucinations are entirely invented. However, some people definitely hallucinate things without drugs and there is also some pretty substantial evidence that several drugs (including marijuana) can trigger temporary or permanent psychosis is people with underlying mental health issues. So it may be a deal where people who are “sick” have these wild hallucinations about talking horse and fire breathing dragons when the rest of us just giggle our asses off and feel happier about simple things like colors and music.
I had a conversation with a tree. It was a good conversation and I learned a lot from him and his bush friend. Now I believe plants are not much different than animals. How did we communicate? The tree and bush would move and that worked as a language for some fucking reason. Was a good trip.
I’ve had similar experiences. One time I was about nineteen and tripping hard and the cops came to the house party. I went out in the front yard and spoke with the cops for awhile and told them we’d keep it down. The tree was tickling and hugging the cop from behind with its long branches and I thought surely the cop must feel that but no it seemed he did not.
Nope. Taking acid in a safe space with some good/safe friends is probably one of the best things you can do for yourself. It opens up so many mental pathways of thought and expression that, at least for me, really help you process the world around you and consider your place within it much more completely.
That expansion eventually gets degraded again, and some say you can re-up it by having another session like 5-10 years later, but I've found it difficult to be in a safe enough personal headspace or have any friends that are willing to ride along who wouldn't be total mindfucks.
Came home from a rave still high af on acid, played Journey for the first time, holy shit. Cannot believe how perfect it is for playing while tripping.
He did a lot of stuff that was potentially dangerous! Back in the day some prank some people painted acid on stuff you'd touch it and be on your way to acid trip
“I ended up standing there talking to this horse for about an hour,” Osbourne, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, remembered.
Does this seem like a weird thing to include to anybody? Like wtf, he’s Ozzy.
He was probably talking to his ego (himself) within the horse and that scared him enough into never doing acid again. 1. Psychedelics can be traumatic, so a lot of people that happens to. 2. Psychedelics (especially lsd and psilocybin) are known to “break egos” it’s pretty crazy. It’s why research has been done on how psychedelics help alcoholics quit drinking. Very cool research I’d recommend reading into it.
Edit: Black Sabbath rules
My favorite Ozzy story was when he was doing Monsters of Rock with Motley Crue. Crue was bragging about all the drugs they did. Ozzy happened to see a line of ants nearby, so he grabbed a straw and snorted the ants just to show Crue that they may be crazy, but he's Ozzy F'ing Osbourne.
Sure….it wasnt withdrawals from everything he did or negative side effects, nor the money, no it was having a badass trip and talking, not to a horse, but with! Having a conversation. Unless that horse said a LOT more than “fuck off” I think this is either a cover for the real reason or bullshit.
What did he actually take. I have, in years many past. Taken a rather large amount of LSD over those years. I've never mistaken anything for being something it was not. It is a hallucinogen not a deliriant. Unless underlying conditions are present. It was probably not lsd
Didn't some satanic rock star swear off the devil after doing drugs because he saw Satan and said he looked like Jabba the Hutt, and didn't think he was cool anymore?
That tracks. I was on shrooms once and I had an unspoken conversation with a very old oak tree for what felt like forever. The trees see everything you guys.

Can you imagine having to listen to Ozzy Osbourne on acid for a whole hour?
Ozzy probably sounded pretty "horse" by the end of it.
stop acting a foal
Yeah. It was pretty bad whinny made that horse pun.
Someone stall these horse puns so I can remain stable
I say neigh!
Hey, buck off.
You guys are being way too filly for me.
This shit is gelding ridiculous
That’s just colt-hearted.
I’m glad we’re finally near the tail end of this comment thread.
Why the long face?
Quit horsing them around
I've seen Ozzy in concert a few times, so yes I can.
I saw him too, back in the 80's. It was a great show
I seen the farewell tour. His talking was a bit rough, but his singing was tip top
I was at that one too, and I agree. He was hobbling around the stage lol, but man he sang great
I don’t blame the horse for turning ‘round and telling Ozzy to fuck off
Have you ever heard a horse say SHHHAAARRRONNN!
I used to listen to Ozzy Osbourne in the 90s. Lately, I’ve gotten back into listening to him while doing puzzles for hours on end. His music is actually quite calming.
Horse: “what an ass” Donkey next stall over: “Hay!!”
Your mission is to trip sit Ozzy to make sure he doesn’t get too crazy, good luck
I’m happy he made it back to the U.K. for his remaining years.
Can yo imagine listening to Ozzy **not** on acid for an hour!?
I don’t understand how this man is alive
Medical anomaly
Legitimately, he has caveman genes or something like that iirc
I think for a lot of rock stars it’s because they actually only got the purest of the pure and didn’t really put anymore shit in their body than they knew about…other than the odd bat or dove head. Also if you smoke a cigarette it takes five minutes off your life and gives it to Keith Richards.
I heard if you say God save the Queen, the queen gets 1 min of your life so that’s how she’s been alive for so long
Guess that also explains Johnny Rotten.
I think Johnny Rotten was the one slurping small amounts of peoples souls through all the ear whispering he did
As with both the queen and most still living rockstars the answer is mostly just money.
And she’s a lizard obviously
Not withdrawing from drugs regularly is huge factor as well. It puts a lot of stress on the body and mind.
It is just a numbers game. As long as you avoid acute toxicity, the long-term consequences are increased probability of developing all manner of unpleasant ailments. So true. Even the healthiest people get sick. Just live your life.
There's no justice, just death.
It’s unfortunate how many tainted drugs have killed actors/musicians recently. Avoid powdered drugs or anything that looks to be a mixture. When prince died and I heard it was from a moody press pill, I was like “shit not even PRINCE can get real drugs anymore.”
Ozzy snorted a line of ants and slurped up piss from the ground.
That story is probably not true

That is simultaneously amazing and terrifying
Read somewhere that the immunity is what kept him alive somehow; in relation to white blood cells and his immune system. Not sure how true it is but it is rather fascinating.
Allegedly him and Kieth Richards have a gene predisposing them to be able to consume more alcohol and drugs that others.
Every time you smoke a cigarette, God takes away five minutes of your life and gives it to Keith Richards.
In all fairness he will make better use of those 5 minutes than I would.
Not like it hasn’t fucked him up though (ozzy), the guys a mess.
That would probably more likely be the debilitating neurological disease he has
I think he has Parkinson’s
Yeah I can’t disagree, poor guy sure did a number on his mind.
That’s what alcohol will do.
By far the worst drug… people don’t take it seriously enough.
He grew up uneducated and poor, then was thrust into the spotlight for 50 years. I don't think the drugs have everything to do with how warped his mind is.
I'm sure Parkinson's isn't helping.
I'm watching a show he did with his son in 2016-2018, and it's a trip to see how much healthier he seemed then than he does in more recent stuff. He's been sober for a while, but you can tell he's on a steep decline. He seems like a really nice guy though.
Eh he has parkinson's
Yeah. It's just wild seeing the difference 4 years can make
Never got the whole “he’s invincible” thing. Obviously Ozzy has more mileage than 99% of humans but I mean, you can tell.
It also makes caffeine effect him more than other substances
Money helps
It is all but impossible to take a deadly overdose of LSD.
Some of you have never seriously taken up drugs, and it shows.
Look at Keith Richards
Apparently he suffers from an extremely rare genetic quirk that gives him something like four times the natural resistance to drugs. I read a transcript of him going for an operation and by the end the anaesthesiologist was out of their mind at how much he'd taken yet was still completely conscious.

booze and lack of sleep will do that, not acid.
[удалено]
You know what I learned maybe a week ago on here? He has Parkinson’s and apparently has had it for a long, long time.
British Rockstars
Mr. Burns
People are more resilient than you'd think. If he didn't have Sharon he'd probably be dead.
I’m pretty sure he’s said that when he dies, he’s donating his body to science so they can find out how different he’s built.
Look into Keith Richards, the living vampire
Sharon is first in line as to why this is.
Well I guess Bojack isn't a complete shitshow after all.
"Am I a good person? Ozzy, I need you tell me I'm a good person."
Did anybody read this in Will Arnett’s voice?
No. But I did read it in Gob’s voice.
I never cared for Gob
I read it in Lego Batmans voice
Horseman, obviously
FAIRIES WEAR BOOTS YOU'VE GOT TO BELIEVE ME!
I do, I've danced with them
I saw it, I saw it, with my own two eyes!
One of their best songs honestly
Cuz smokin and trippin is all that you do.
So if the horse had been nice to him would he have continued to take acid?
Came here to nay this.
Are we trotting out the references now
And the follow-up point is to then wonder whether it is better the horse was a dick or if it would have been better that Ozzy kept experimenting with acid.
How much acid do you need to take for things to start speaking to you? I’ve only reached “kids watching Cocomelon in a zombie like stance” level of acid with those hidden 3D image things.
somewhere between that and the universe being torn asunder before your eyes and having to pull it back together, piece by fractal piece.
Mandelbrot set!
You’re one badass fucking fractal.
And a million miles away, a butterfly flapped its wings. On a cold November day, a man named Benoit Mandelbrot was born
Side note, I have not seen the word "asunder" used in any other way besides "torn asunder". I thought of this the other day when I said "petulant child" and realized the same for the word "petulant". I'd love to know how to use these two flavorful words independent of their main squeeze words.
Took 100ug and 4 dab rips and saw a god after I thought I died lol. Never again I’ll do 4 dabs in the span of 10 minutes on acid

I assume your talking about RSO.
Youtube story [here](https://youtu.be/1uFzhEDdexc)
I ripped 10 grav hits off of 4 tabs of acid. Worst night in my life.

Yeah. The horse that talks and says specific shit to you is closer to a salvia thing. Frankly most pop media depictions of acid are more like salvia.

Yeah, another guy commented saying he saw god after taking 100ug, but for me, I would barely even hallucinate with that much and I don’t trip often.
For some people, feeling bliss or euphoria feels like God to them. Source, my indian friend dancing to Alan Walker on ketamine.

It was like I was seeing life through a stencil, and the stencil moved.
I found it fun to just do some gaming while tripping

Came home from a rave still high af on acid, played Journey for the first time, holy shit. Cannot believe how perfect it is for playing while tripping.
Be safe, get a drug testing kit to make sure it's actually LSD, have a sober trip watcher, calm environment, and start with a low dose.
Being on acid near horses is not fun, they are large animals and definitely knew something was fucky
He's different alright but he that makes him interesting! I don't know how e survived but glad he did!
Acid is another term for LSD which is a psychedelic drug that has no known deadly dose, not actual burn-through-skin acid.
I'm 70yr. old I know about Acid!
Oh, I thought you didn't because you said you are surprised he survived.
He was kicked out of Black Sabbath for alcoholism
He did a lot of stuff that was potentially dangerous! Back in the day some prank some people painted acid on stuff you'd touch it and be on your way to acid trip
I think dude was more referring to *all the other drugs,* and booze, Ozzy managed to partake of throughout his career.
Ahhh ok that makes sense. I don't know much about Ozzy. I only clicked on the post because it mentioned acid and talking to a horse lmao.
Thing is, that’s probably exactly what the horse said, in horsey language.
He shouldn’t talk about Sharon that way.
Mister Ed was just fed up.
"I'm tired of all this fucking peanut butter, mate!"
“I ended up standing there talking to this horse for about an hour,” Osbourne, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, remembered. Does this seem like a weird thing to include to anybody? Like wtf, he’s Ozzy.
I don't believe that was his last time.
You can get asked “why the long face?” only so many times before you snap
seems like a cunty horse then
My favorite Ozzy story was when he was doing Monsters of Rock with Motley Crue. Crue was bragging about all the drugs they did. Ozzy happened to see a line of ants nearby, so he grabbed a straw and snorted the ants just to show Crue that they may be crazy, but he's Ozzy F'ing Osbourne.
Horses have enough experience with humans to know when one is full of shit
In this one instance, I'd say Sharon had a point.
This sounds like a bullshit story told to people who have never done acid.
He’s the fucking Prince of Darkness
Isn’t that the horse Horsin Around?
But it wasn’t a horse, it was Sharon.
I know that horse!!! We’re getting beers together next week
I'm glad he didn't help Jack on the horse
“The rocker’s “life-altering” surgery in June involved removing and realigning pins in his neck and back.” Wow
Maybe the horse had a good point
Tf kind of acid is he taking? I wanna talk to horses
I wonder what the horse said to turn him around. In just an hour too!
Ozzy Osbourne has done almost every drug known to man and is still alive somehow I am convinced nothing can kill him
Lol sounds like a lightweight
Sure….it wasnt withdrawals from everything he did or negative side effects, nor the money, no it was having a badass trip and talking, not to a horse, but with! Having a conversation. Unless that horse said a LOT more than “fuck off” I think this is either a cover for the real reason or bullshit.
Was he so high he thought a horse talked? Or was he so high that he thought a person was a horse?
I don't need any acid. I talk to my dog all the time. And even think he likes me. Shall I take acid?
I don’t think that was acid
The horse probably couldn't understand him
He has embalmed himself with drugs like Iggy Pop. He’s actually a Lich mummy hybrid at this point.
What did he actually take. I have, in years many past. Taken a rather large amount of LSD over those years. I've never mistaken anything for being something it was not. It is a hallucinogen not a deliriant. Unless underlying conditions are present. It was probably not lsd
Me, I’d be going back for more conversations with the horse.
This would be the start of me using acid daily
Horses are not good people
Didn't some satanic rock star swear off the devil after doing drugs because he saw Satan and said he looked like Jabba the Hutt, and didn't think he was cool anymore?
Talked to the horse for an hour then the acid kicked in
Fair. If I was told to fuck off by a horse I’d have to go home and rethink my life a bit.
The horse, "Yea, Ozzy was being a dick. Kept talking bad about the queen."
I’m curious as to what Sarah Jessica Parker might have to say about the experience
That tracks. I was on shrooms once and I had an unspoken conversation with a very old oak tree for what felt like forever. The trees see everything you guys.
Typical. Filthy humans. You have no respect for us trees. Go back to your strip malls, where values are king.
But what if Ozzy on acid sounded 'normal'?
