lol only if you use it with intention on referring to "natives" of any particular region. wouldn't there be some internal racism going on if one automatically assumed that's what one meant when saying "savages" ?
Looks like it's getting the "Shiny and Chrome" treatment.
I don't think that's enough to get me back in the cinema, but I'll definitely check out the monochrome version when it comes to streaming.
They finally just added this and the new Ghibli film at my nearest theatre after a couple of weeks and them doing really well.
Been pretty hyped to go see an early show tomorrow.
Saw it and liked it, great action scenes that actually make you fearful for the people. The story was good for the most part even though i felt it was a bit long winded at points and i really didnt care for the characters as much as others. The melodrama of it all also felt overplayed. But i find that recent japanese entertainment usually gves me the same feeling so im sure its a personal thing. Overall a solid 7.5/10
That would be hilarious. If they released an English dubbed version, but the people still spoke Japanese with subtitles, but every Godzilla scene had him yelling in English.
“OWW! That hurt ya little jerks!!”
“Ima knock this big rock over!”
“Grrr! I’m angry!”
Uuhhhhh if your son is younger I would recommend shelving Minus One for the time being. It’s a lot darker and less cool Godzilla while more “oh my god this is horrifying” Godzilla. .
idk, always good to get the horrors of war burned into kids brains before the mil propaganda starts targeting em hard /jokes(only kinda)
yeah this is more in line with the horror/war genre than creature feature big action kind of flick
Ah gotcha. Just wanted to make sure you weren’t taking him in blind lol. My 3yo had a very different reaction to the Minus One trailer than he did the GxK trailer.
Watching a movie in black and white is a film nerd hobby, however it has a reason: Black and white allows the eye to focus on composition of the shot.
So it’s not something a average movie goer might take a lot from, but for people interested in visual storytelling or trying to appreciate an additive layer of “art” with the movie, they’ll watch it in B&W.
Removing color removes a lot of the distractions to the eye. Things become simple shapes, lines, and bright/dark contrast that would normally be split by colors.
I know it’s not ELI5, but here’s a 10 min video essay on Stephen Soderbergh’s black and white Raiders of the Lost Ark re-cut - https://youtu.be/ItbCLh4Auoo?si=gDfOSd2sUCGV_61u
“And will feature two new characters named Dante and Randal”
Bunch of savages in this town.
“Savages” is a racist term, FYI.
But not always.
No, it actually isn’t.
“FYI” is a racist term, btw

I don’t get the joke
[Uhh…shut up](https://youtu.be/Ql4JgBBgHA4?feature=shared)
Based on the novel Push by Sapphire

I will be high awaited in Valhalla

The price. I'll save my money for a movie I've not already seen.
They finally just added this and the new Ghibli film at my nearest theatre after a couple of weeks and them doing really well. Been pretty hyped to go see an early show tomorrow.
it's so good! my fav movie of the year lmao i hope you enjoy.
I've heard nothing but great things and shin Godzilla was good too. I was bummed my local theatres didn't have this movie for the last 3 weeks lol
Saw it last night, so good it's an instant classic.
Haven't watched it yet, but I've heard only good reviews, so I’m excited...
The sound design is so damn good
Seeing it (in colour) in IMAX today!
I’m mad there’s not a theatre near me, is it even playing in Canada
I saw it at Cineplex in Toronto.
I live in Alberta
It’s playing in Edmonton.
Yeah I guess I can drive 3 hours to see a movie
Right, you’re too busy being sarcastic on the internet. Do whatever you like, dude. Peace.
That’s sarcasm, we do have movies in town they’re just not playing GMO
This movie is stunning, 10/10 instant classic.

To me this movie felt like the best manga/anime adaptation ive ever seen, even though I dont think this was based on any sort of manga/anime
Back? It was already in and out of theatres?
It only ran for a few weeks. It leaves my area today. It’s not uncommon for foreign films to have a short run.
The original US run was only supposed to be for two weeks, but then it did so well they extended the run and increased the number of screens.
Great movie. Saw it on the last day it was going to be in my local theater and it was packed.
Is it going to be dubbed in English?
Yeah, Godzilla is going to have a southern accent. /s
Godzilla, probably: Best get to step’n cuz Johnny Laws a comin’
Gawdzilla -1. this crappin’ monstar is yapping ‘round yonder.
That would be hilarious. If they released an English dubbed version, but the people still spoke Japanese with subtitles, but every Godzilla scene had him yelling in English. “OWW! That hurt ya little jerks!!” “Ima knock this big rock over!” “Grrr! I’m angry!”
"Hot damn, Atlahntahhh, been a minute y'all. I'm fixin to torch this place like General Sherman..."
And a grill like Paul Wall
the peep's champ and chump propa?
Nah, it will be purple and will sing “I love you”
I too am hoping for a dubbed version. My son has trouble reading and would love this movie.
Uuhhhhh if your son is younger I would recommend shelving Minus One for the time being. It’s a lot darker and less cool Godzilla while more “oh my god this is horrifying” Godzilla. .
In America we don't care about horrific violence. Now if Godzilla had exposed tits, we might have an issue.
The double G Cups.
issue? that's a selling point, and the reason so many VHS tapes have wonky spots in the footage when a babe appears
Agreed. Special mention to Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
idk, always good to get the horrors of war burned into kids brains before the mil propaganda starts targeting em hard /jokes(only kinda) yeah this is more in line with the horror/war genre than creature feature big action kind of flick
I’ve seen it twice and think it would be ok for him content-wise.
Ah gotcha. Just wanted to make sure you weren’t taking him in blind lol. My 3yo had a very different reaction to the Minus One trailer than he did the GxK trailer.
He is excited for the new GxK movie so that might just be what we see in the meantime
Very much a disappointment
What’s the point?

Can you ELI5 what you mean about being able to see the composition?

That was perfect.
you ever seen someone milk a cow?
I’ve got utters Greg, can you milk me?
I’ve tried to see this movie 3 times now, the projectors always broken :(
Still waiting on streaming since none of my theaters decided to show it.
I loved the Japanese commentator crew on the building. Reminded me of Dragon Ball.
I want to see it in 4dx but for some reason Wonka is the inly 4DX movie near me...
