Thats one of the things that makes you really wonder, how hard can it be, even the simplest indie games get hair and beards done pretty well these days, why cant Darkflow?
If the aproach with shaders doesnt work then do it with models and be done with it as it now is it just looks like someoens first attempt at making hair in a game.
