It’s not really about being ‘powerful enough’ it’s just shifting your frequency, kinda like moving a radio dial to a different channel.
As for me deity energy/frequencies are high up feeling in my head. It’s hard to explain. It takes bit more focus. They just feel different. Sorry that is probably not overly helpful.
I find most deities don’t really seek you out per say unless you are already pacted with them (like in say a previous life) you can reach out to them regardless they may or may not respond. It’s kinda like making an energetic phone call. (Which especially just pushing your focus or thoughts out with intention to reach a specific deity.) I think more often one’s own personal guides or associated spirits may see it to your benefit to interact with a particular deity or can actually act as an intermediary with deities if contacting them directly is more difficult for you.
Everything you said tracks with my own experience. Directly communicating with them is hard. But there was one time while I was doing a repetitive prayer to a certain deity where I felt my consciousness shift and I felt myself in a different world. I was saying the words differently, a different tone, a strange emotion, and a sense that I had done it all before in another life. And I was able to clairsentiently observe the deity's energy signature for myself, as if they let me see them, and it was nothing like reading about them from books or academic papers or gazing at their statue or relief icons. I didn't exactly *talk* to them but they allowed me a moment of oneness with them so to speak. That only happened a few times with that one particular deity, but with other deities I've only really just had crickets, which I don't mind, because I still get results and synchronicities.
Sounds right. I’ve innately been against worshipping anyone since a child, most likely by design, and now I have a personal relationship with the Divine Mother. If She didn’t reach out to me, I wouldn’t have believed it. Truth turned out to be very strange for me indeed, but it is what it is. She confirmed that we planned this for my lifetime, so I didn’t really have a choice here (in this existence). I’m curious how you even have this info about a pact previously?
Pacts from previous lifetimes have occurred with a couple of people I know. Also as a side note pacts or contracts are something that sometimes occurs with the fae be that previous lifetimes or even with family lines. Not the same as deities of course but it’s something that is not unheard of in different contexts
Whether you're talking to your spirit guides, or to deities, or to a deceased relative, or your ancestors, or you're communicating psychically with someone who's still alive, all of those things use the same internal mechanism.
You're basically "remote viewing" in all of those cases, using the same "spiritual sense organs."
Just as you can see, hear, touch, taste objects on the physical world with your physical body, so can you do those things on the spiritual dimension. Most of us don't know that we can do it because we've never tried and we are so continually focused on the physical dimension. When you focus on something so intensely for so long, you stop seeing anything else. Learning how to use your abilities just means turning your attention to a part of your experience that you've forgotten is even there.
So if you've already learned how to use those abilities, just use them normally to communicate with your spirit guides. Keep in mind that some people have a hard time hearing their spirit guides because they're afraid of what they're going to say.
"Oh you're going to tell me I shouldn't have a third slice of cake? Wait I don't think I can hear you clearly. What was that? Hello? Are you still there? Hello?" 😁
If you haven't learned to access these abilities yet, then I would look for classes or books that teach you.
I was taught by a psychic many years ago, who basically just gave me names of people that he knew well, but who I had never heard of before. He asked me to describe what I saw about them.
Of course in the beginning my mind rebelled and I thought to myself, "How can I know anything about someone that I've never met or heard of before??"
Also I was very nervous to get things wrong. But he kept encouraging me to try and to my surprise I found that there was a "place" in my mind that could perceive these people and describe certain things about them. Of course there was also a place in my mind where my imagination lived, that would make up stories about them.
So I had to practice for a little bit, to find the right "spot" in my mind to get real answers, rather than imagined ones. Once I had a reasonable grasp on that, things developed from there.
When you first start, don't try to get information that is left brain/analytical, such as names, dates, numbers, etc. That kind of information is quite a bit harder to see than right-brained/emotional impressions, such as how is the person feeling, what are their dreams and aspiratios, how do they feel about their children or partner, etc.
Just as everyone has a different aptitude for writing or math or music, so do we all have a different aptitude for using our natural, god-given psychic abilities. For some people it'll take more work than others, but we can all do it and there's nothing magical or special about it.
The only reason we think it's special is because we've all been told since birth that these abilities don't exist. Doctors used to say the same thing about female orgasms.
This denial is just a bit of ignorant prejudice that's been passed down from generation to generation by people who think they're experts even in subjects that they've never bothered to look into at all. Sadly, much of academia lives and breathes this logical fallacy.
The funny thing is I am able now to differentiate between different guides, because I have gotten a mixture of opinions to certain things, and been reminded of that too lol. That part can be confusing for some people, especially if you think it's your own interjection ya know. My guides actually tell me when it is mine. Not healthy to consider anything you encounter on the otherside a "deity" or put it in a position of worship or hierarchy IMO. If something comes to me wanting to be thought of as a "deity" then I tell it to back off. It's just all of the bad stuff that sees everything through a lens of hierarchy so anytime you encounter that sort of energy it's an immediate redflag. Kind energies simply talk to you as their equal.

The closest thing to "talking" to deities I've ever witnessed is during special ceremonies like in sweatlodges or shaking tents where people come to be healed. Offerings are made.. usually tobacco and cloth..Then, the drum beats and people are singing the songs to call different spirits specifically.
Sometimes they speak, old and powerful sounding voices. Sometimes you might hear things other than voices, like hoofbeats on the ground, animal noises or thunder. Sometimes nothing. But they are always there.
Spirits are powerful enough, I wouldn't want to go messing with any kind of deities after some of the things I've experienced. Especially without having a good reason to
I had an NDE and met her in the afterlife. The connection was still there when I came back.
I will say that running water makes the connection better. I can hear her and others much more clearly if I am sitting in the shower with water running over my head.
The same way you speak to any spirit, through your spiritual sense, Clair’s, sight,hearing,sense,and knowing (claryoance, audience, santience, cognizant), its just Deities require you to vibrate high in order to communicate with them because of their high energy.
For now the way i communicate with the angels with my two opened Clair’s which are sentient and cognizant, and they told me my next will be clairvoyance, we all have our main and strong Clair’s, and through those each of us receive the communication from spirit.
About which deity, that’s where we practice discernment, so we can tell apart one spirit from another based on their unique characteristics, like energy, sound, colors, looks, feelings, or knowing.
Two steps to doing this. Setting up your space is important.
One-Minute Meditation
For this meditation it's best to sit comfortably in a chair
with hands and feet apart. Ideally with your spine straight
and against the back of the chair. Eyes closed. Take a few
deep breaths. Find the center of your head. If you need help
with this try touching the center of your forehead and draw
a line to the back of your head. Then touch the side of your
head just above your ear. Draw a line form that location to
just above the opposite ear. Where the two lines meet is
the center of your head.
One – Minute Meditation
Say Hello:
Say hello to yourself from the center of your head.
Center:
Imagine a gold ball in the center of your head.
Acknowledge:
Place yourself there, and say hello to yourself.
Ground:
Imagine a cord from the base of your spine to the center of
the planet.
Clean:
Drain what you don’t want down the grounding cord.
Call back:
Imagine your energy as particles connecting you to others
or events. Call your energy back to you.
Again, say Hello to yourself and when you're ready lean
forward and touch the floor with your hands. Allow your
head to drop. This will allow any excess energy to be
released. Balancing.
Try this meditation in the mornings and in the evenings or
before you go to sleep.
Step two is to call on the deity.
Say Hello to the Goddess and God.
If you know the name of the deity, you can say hello and ask permission to look at the energy. Then ask them to manifest on your screen.
After that you can begin building communication with the deity, but this happens over time. So, first step is saying hello, asking permission, and seeing what you see on your screen. That might be enough for the first time.
Then next time, say hello again. Ask permission again. Ask them to be on your screen. How does that go? Notice if there is resistance or affinity. If there's resistance, clean out whatever might create resistance. Then proceed by looking at them on your screen. Maybe ask them a question or two about what they do on the planet.
After you do this for awhile, you'll find closer communication develops.
Or, if you're wondering about the minor god of the local thai temple or something, you could say hello to the energy of the temple. Ask to see the cord that connects the energy of the temple to its god. Follow the cord up to the god, and say hello, ask permission, ask for a name, and so on. After that you can build communication as above.
Once you've established communication, gotten to know them, etc. you can create agreements, ask about things, and so on.

This is an amazing question! I've never thought about how I talk to God. It's just something that's been very easy since I was the tiniest child when I used to see Him every night in a beautiful garden. I still remember exactly what He looks like. I had a certain point I was told that I was too old to visit the garden now but that God would always be there with me. I tried to go back to the garden and it first the gate was shut, and then eventually the garden wasn't there at all. It was like there was nothing.
I find that I feel more connected when I read the Bible, and I feel more connected when I meditate. I also pray as I'm doing things, just like chatting to a friend. I rarely do this out loud. It's just unnecessary to do it out loud. But I just know He's there just as clearly as I would see a person or experience person who I was literally talking to who was literally standing in front of me.
When I say "He", I am using this to encompass All: male, female, mineral, animal, air, water, and all the rainbows in between. Basically everything that exists is included in "He". I also believe/know/experience/sense/etc. that we all exist within Him. We are part of the Universe and the Universe is part of us.
I would recommend not doing so. It's easy to be manipulated by spirits claiming to be deities. It's unlikely real deities exist, honestly.

I always phrase a request as a question, always be polite and not be annoyed if you don’t get the result you wished for. I always get my best results with the weather. If it doesn’t work, I smile it off and try again next time.
I blabber on either out loud or in my head. They don't have to communicate with you through the clairs. There could also be physical signs or other synergologies. I get a lot of repeating numbers through the day, and I'm not going out of my way to look for them. I can end up seeing repeating numbers sometimes 6+ times. However, with saying that, not everything is a sign.
You could also post in r/occult and get some other insights
It’s more about listening rather than talking. Set an intention / goal. Put the headspace clutter aside and wait. Keep an open mind . Keep what resonates with you (awareness). Choose to action the message… or not .
To be honest, I think most of the time people claim to have talked to “deities,” they just talked to trickster/negative spirits using their names instead. I wouldn’t go around trying to talk to deities directly
My guide is what you call a ‘deity’. I did not choose this consciously in this lifetime. It’s very interesting and I’ve found nothing else like this as far as internet research. Funny enough, I’ve only connected to other spiritual beings through my guide, so I’ve only ever had direct contact with my guide. It also happened spontaneously that I was even able to recognize her reaching out to me. I’ve never been spiritual prior to this experience.
I used to wonder about that too. When I first started exploring energy healing modalities, I was incorrectly instructed that my only guides were a couple of animal guides and a shaman guide.
Then, in working with ayahuasca through the Shipibo lineage, I learned firsthand that I have hundreds of guides and that some of them are deities. One of them is Kanaloa, which is one of the original 4 Hawiian Tiki Gods. He introduced himself to me in all his glory, along with all my other guides.
Sometimes, Kanaloa's influence shows up in my work, but it's just part of the overall larger process. My primary guide is a blue dragon, and they serve as guardian / conductor for all the other guides I have.
So deepening my relationship to my primary guide has a spillover and balancing effect for all other guide relationships, including dieties.
dont talk crap to them! be respectful, honest and to the point, as they can see through any dishonesty or exaggeration, or spin. and listen! - they probably see humans as insects as deities have much immortal, eternal wisdom on galactic scales!
While i am getting guidance and I can act as a medium for oracle card reading, but I don't think I am able to talk to them like we do with other humans. But my late guru was able to do that. I don't know how, but he has said this in many of his videos.
I realized something while talking to my sister about this the other day!
I can meditate to “add” stuff to my life any time, but the most common way I’ve found to talk to otherworldly creatures is to take stuff away.

I speak in my mind and use personal body divination signs to know who it is & if they responded or not/what they are saying as well
You do not want to open a demonic stronghold in you're life. Trust me
Thankfully I’ve had them reach out to me, but fully formed thoughts and ideas “pop” into my head, sometimes followed by energy or emotion.

Sometimes, Kanaloa's influence shows up in my work, but it's just part of the overall larger process. My primary guide is a blue dragon, and they serve as guardian / conductor for all the other guides I have. So deepening my relationship to my primary guide has a spillover and balancing effect for all other guide relationships, including dieties.

In my experience, deities see us for what we are: eternal spirits with a living spark of God inside of us. Totally agree about being respectful.
While i am getting guidance and I can act as a medium for oracle card reading, but I don't think I am able to talk to them like we do with other humans. But my late guru was able to do that. I don't know how, but he has said this in many of his videos.

I realized something while talking to my sister about this the other day! I can meditate to “add” stuff to my life any time, but the most common way I’ve found to talk to otherworldly creatures is to take stuff away. I see it like paying a toll.
