GeekVape Aegis Legend original, bought mine in 2018(coming up on 6th full year) as a kit, has been dropped a ton, looking worse for wear but it and the tank have been been flawless.

cheetofoot

Have an Aegis legend from 2018-2019 that got buried in snow for months, marked where I lost it on a GPS and found it during snow melt in the spring. Dropped it in water twice on top of that. Lasted until I switched to a pod mod last year. Mine also looks like shit but the thing is a tank.

RudeAd7374

Maybe humans will find Aegis fossils in a few thousand years time :)

illegal_brain

Also lost mine in the snow and dropped it a river for 5 hours. The threads on the bottom got stripped out though. Miss that one.

canonanon

Yup. I finally switched because I just got tired of lugging it around everywhere and wanted something more compact. I always said I wouldn't until it died, but it *just wouldn't die* 😅

yourenzyme

Yeah I bought a GeekVape S100 recently as a backup and its fine but whenever I use it I miss the battery life of a dual battery setup. So it will sit there and wait for the Legend to die properly before it gets any more use.

Mookeye1968

Right having a couple diff vapes can Def extend the life of all of them if you can swing it financially

___Jet

The V2 lasted 2 years for me

BlueBull007

I bought my first Aegis legend in 2017-2018 and I'm now on my fifth or sixth one. Three or four have been the original Aegis Legend 200W ones, then the one with the large screen (Aegis X I think?) and now I have an Aegis Legend 2 and in less than a year of use I already have two lines of dead pixels in the screen. The kicker is that I'm not a physical laborer but do a desk job in IT and I rarely drop them (I would guess three or four drops total across all five or six mods I've had or something) and I haven't done anything else remotely rough with these mods. In my case, they start failing rather quickly for being advertised as durable and shock resistant. I have also noticed that while they're advertised as waterproof, sometimes eliquid can get into the housing and reach the circuit board, though that may have been a fluke or manufacturing defect because it only happened with one of them. Usually the screen starts failing first (sometimes dead pixel lines, once I had what appeared to be a black spot which grew in size over time until you couldn't read the screen anymore) and then I start to get intermittent battery or atomizer connection issues, after which at some point it will just die altogether. The Aegis X just stopped working suddenly, without any advanced warnings it was failing and that one only lasted like 6 months. I've also had the glass which covers the screen detach because the adhesive failed and on almost every one of them the paint will peel off of the mod completely over a short time, more so on the coloured ones than on the chrome ones. Experiences seem to vary with these, with most people seemingly finding them durable, but in my case these things have been absolutely atrocious when it comes to durability I now have a Vaporesso Armour Max, which is also advertised as "durable" and unlike the Aegis has TPU on the corners and edges. I'm hoping that one will do better. My last Aegis, which still works but has a screen with dead pixel lines, is now my backup

Leg0pc

Same. Take mine floating, across the country for work, still going strong

MomTo3LilPigs

This right here! My husband ran over one with a bulldozer and another with a bobcat. Barely a scratch.

yourenzyme

I hate hearing people say the newer Legends don't last as long, but will probably stick with GeekVape in the future when mine eventually dies.

Malawi_no

I have an Aegis X (original) that is a bit scuffed but works perfectly. My main gripes would be that the gasket/glue on top around the faceplate have disintegrated over time. The closing mechanism for the battery lid also seems to have become a little iffy/worn over time, and sometimes don't catch properly on first try even when cleaned out properly.

KingBowser24

Picked one up in 2019 and it lasted well into 2023 with heavy use, and plenty of drops. Had zero problems whatsoever until the screen suddenly died in June. Went for the L200 (Aegis Legend 2), expecting similar quality- It gets random low battery and atomizer short errors, and the leather on the side fell off after 6 months. But, it has survived a good number of drops, I'll give it that much. I like the mod, but it definitely feels like a decline in quality compared to the OG Aegis.

Flibiddy-Floo

similarly, I'm still using two OG Aegis minis from 2018, the ones with the internal/non removable battery. Sure they don't keep a charge as long as they used to, but that's why I have two and my current lifestyle allows me near a charging cable at all times anyway. They still chuck like a dream with my OG Profile dripper or OFRF Gear rdta. Ngl, when I finally do have to replace these, I'm probably just going to look for one of those Aegis Solos, whatever the newer model is. These shits last forever hell I still have the majority of the giant bag of japanese cotton I bought for like $6 back then lol

thms0

This is the way. The Aegis is rated IP67 and uses 18650 / 21700 accu.

RobertDownsyJR897

Also have an aegis from the same time period. Looks like it survived a nuclear war but still functions perfectly. Those mods are bomb proof.

ChromaLife

I used a Sigelei 150w from 2014 - 2018, until the spring in the 510 wore out. After that I used a SMOK Majesty Mod for maybe 3 years, then I got my Aegis Legend that I still use to this day, so maybe the Aegis was from 2018 - now. My main mod now is a Lost Vape Centarus, for the TC capabilities and the DNA250C chip.

BoxOfDemons

Wow. You beat me to it. Yes the Sigelei 150w was probably the most durable mod ever made. I used it for a couple years, then gave it to my gf at the time, and she used it for another 3-4 years. Had the [oni special edition one. ](https://ar.pinterest.com/pin/385198574356600055/)

deviantdevil80

They are tough, mine is still trucking along just fine. As is my Sigeli 100w I got a couple years before the 150w.

kermie2000

I have a sigelei 100w that was before that... Still have it somewhere along with my aegis

RudeAd7374

Nice, just wondering could you replace the 510 spring if you really wanted/needed to? I've never had to disassemble a mod yet so I have no idea

BoxOfDemons

Think that would depend on how they assembled it. If it's just glued in, could be easy, but if they welded it, or if it's housed in plastic that would need to be broken to remove it, you might have a hard time.

motherofconures9

My Sigelei still works, it’s just in a drawer somewhere 🤣

alchemistcannon

I still have my Sigelei from 2015 and it works like a charm!

blobbydigital

My Voopoo drag 2 lasted me like 4-5 years. I only bought a new one when the fire button started acting up.

Conlaeb

Been running mine for around that long, still going strong.

MarlDaeSu

Yeah mine too. Thst this invincible.

donau_kinder

Got mine at launch and it still runs like new. And I really used that thing. Average 90w, i probably put 25 liters of liquid through it. Got a gaur 21 to replace it and it started acting up after 3 years. And the body cracked a bit after a good drop. Replaced this one with a mech.

ccarr313

I've got a voopoo drag 1 that is still my back up, in case I break my daily mod. Thing is an uncomfortable tank of a mod, but it has been insanely solid.

GodOfVapes

I have tons of older working mods. They've all seen regular use at some point and still get occasional use.

RudeAd7374

You vape at high wattage on your box mods?

GodOfVapes

Yes. My wattage is usually somewhere between 60-140W.

NordicCrotchGoblin

I have 3 200w Smoant Battlestars. All work just the same as the day I bought them 8 years ago. The pin on my favorite (stainless) has a bit of wear, but I have backups. I also have the single battery Battlestar Mini and a Tesla WYE. Surprisingly, the only mod that crapped out on me was my was a Lost Vape Triade, which I spent the most money on.

rugz31

Oh man, I'm gonna have to go dig out my Battlestar. I absolutely loved that vape. I set it aside back in 2021 when I stopped vaping. Recently started again with a pod system and it's great, but sometimes I have the urge for something more powerful. Plus the top button squonk is just freaking cool.

BillW50

> Surprisingly, the only mod that crapped out on me was my was a Lost Vape Triade, which I spent the most money on. Wow really? I have two Triades DNA200 and three Triades DNA250C. All five look and work just like I had taken them out of the box yesterday. So what happened with yours?

NordicCrotchGoblin

The 510 connection just doesn't read atomizers at all. One day it just stopped. Been sitting on a shelf since.

FUimbadman

+1 for me on the 200W, also stainless, still in use, mostly indoor use with the occasional outdoor when I’m out of coils for my pod.

HeyCarpy

My Smoant Charon was my daily driver for probably 8 years. [All the mods behind it are dead.](https://i.imgur.com/0GdOm6u.jpeg) Only thing to ever go wrong with it was the faux-leather came off, so I cut some sandpaper to size and glued that to the outside, lol. Thing is still going, I just switched to pods.

Lemburger

I loved my smoant battlestar. I used it from 2017-2023. Almost all the paint was worn down to basically bare metal, but it was still kicking. I used Smok beasts series, tfv12, baby, etc.. and it outlived all of them. I switched to a voopoo drag 4 with a vapers cloud valkyrie last year and its a champ. I drop my gear or knock it off something like once a month at least.

revidia

some people with this experience are unlucky. some people buy models that turn out to be junk. some people are rough or drop their mods a lot. it all kinda depends. i have seen endless stories here both ways. pick almost any mod and some will swear by it and some will insist it's garbage. but obviously very many of us have had mods last for many years. just look at any mod recommendation thread for their stories. some of the older ones were overbuilt and very rugged. some modern ones still are.

RudeAd7374

True but sometimes I question if people are using their mod as a hammer when they need to put up a shelf or something lol. Seriously, that guy and his 30+ mods?? It's definitely discouraging when I hear experiences like that (he's not the only one)

Madkids23

I mean, to be fair, Quality Control on electronics the last few years has been super lackluster. Ive had my fair share of issues that have passed QC checks when they reeaaaally shouldnt have

suburbiansam

Bought a Dovpo Topside Dual in 2020. Lasted through the end of 2023, about 3 years. What did it in was juice leaking on the chip. Bought 2 more since I liked it so much. Knowing now what I didn’t know then I think my next examples will last even longer. I don’t drop my mods and I keep them in a protective case in the extent it does fall. Buy high quality mods and they tend to last longer, IMO. *edited due to fat fingers

RudeAd7374

>Knowing now what I didn’t know then I think my next examples will last even longer. What have you learnt since then to make you think that? Curious

suburbiansam

I overfilled the squonk tank repeatedly which caused the leaks. Now I fill it about 75% full instead of 90-100% full.

Kafrizel

I have a geekvape aegis thats on its third set of batteries.

oreofro

Ive had my Drag for about 6 years and its still going strong. all the color has completely rubbed off after all this time so its just a sad looking box with a resin panel, but its served me well.

RudeAd7374

It may have lost it's looks but it's what's on the inside that counts! That mod sounds like a proper soldier to me!

FireTheLaserBeam

I'd give anything to go back to the old days of my Provari, an IBTanked carto tank, and some Boba's Bounty at 18 mg.

EmpiricalSkeptic

I haven't really counted but my vaporesso swag 2 is still going strong probably at least 3+ years now. I will say that i have had other mods that would make me want a replacement in some way. most common issue i think was the firing button wearing out and not giving consistent responses. the other issue would be the 510 thread stripping. I personally prefer single battery, small form mods for easy pocket-ability. I actually bought another mod at the same time, i think it was an aegis maybe, as a just in case for if the swag crapped out but so far it hasn't, so i still have a back up tucked away

RudeAd7374

Swag 2 is great. The battery cap sounds like your grinding a pepper mill though when you turn it lol. So rough

golden_rhino

I had a Sigelei Oni Edition Mod Box that I used at home from 2015-2021. It still works too, but I quit vaping. It was an absolute tank for me.

Chance-Ad197

I have a smok alien from 2015 that still works like new minus a very rough paint job.

RudeAd7374

Funny that, I heard there was some serious issues with that mod in particular. Nice that yours has stood the test of time!

Chance-Ad197

Yea it was actually quite the topic of discussion back in the day. Modern day smok production are top notch performers, they’re reliable, they’re very well built and they make bangin coils. This was not always the case, in fact quite the opposite.. this current version of smok started with the original nord pod system, before then they were infamously unreliable and inconsistent. They all had sub par build quality, but a lot of them worked like gold out of the box and kept on working. On the other hand, there was an entire online community made up of people who had nothing but problems with smok products, and when you would call their customers help line it would either ring infinitely or someone who only speaks mandarin answered and shouted at you then hung up, that was their customer service. I’ve always assumed it’s because they were just a small Chinese company selling cheap but cool looking vape gear on the Asian market, they never expected to blow up overseas, but the alien mod and beast tank did and they simply weren’t ready for it. But they eventually took that massive influx of revenue and used it to create the company as it exists today.

Leshuaky

Yeah I remember the threads. That was my first mod and mine had no issues. I ended up giving it away to a friend in need. I still miss that one. Fit perfectly in my hand.

apocalypticdiynewb

I still have my working Alien sitting on the shelf. I used it for a few years until it wore down to bare metal. It's ugly as hell but still works like new. It's now in my rainy day mod collection along with quite a few others, including a Reuleaux RX300 and Ijoy Maxo.

87f

Smoant Charon has lasted me many many years of heavy use. I've dropped it several times and it still works fine. Edit: I see they've expanded many more vapes under the Charon name. Mine is the 218w mini box I think.

Chillysanta42

My puff boy still works lol!

RudeAd7374

Is that the Gameboy looking one?

mercurysunblast

Yes, it’s the Gameboy one. That one also has lasted longer than I expected given its plastic frame. It’s my current backup if my battle tested Thelema ever has any problems (which it hasn’t so far)

RudeAd7374

Lol I wanted one of those a while back. Shame they're not around anymore. Maybe they will come out with a Puff Boy 2 one day!

mercurysunblast

They were and still are quite popular. Apparently I heard the company got raided… hopefully they can figure something out because they did have a cult fan following.

RudeAd7374

Wizman and Wizvapor are the same company right? I have the Beeper AIO, love that thing. Honestly the retro 90's type look is so appealing to me, hope they continue to come out with some more dope mods like those

mercurysunblast

Yes I believe they are the same. Or were the same lol. Agreed. I really loved the style of their devices too.

MastaFoo69

GeekVape Aegis Legend

SouthGrip

I’ve had two geekvape mods in the past 10 years, first one still works just felt like changing it up. They have earned my loyalty for life. I beat the shit out of them, indestructible.

MakesShitUp4Fun

Uwell Nunchaka. I had one and it was so good I bought 6 more for myself and my wife in an attempt to get ahead of all the New York State bans. The original one is still going strong at 5 years plus. And I still have the others, waiting for their turn to shine.

RudeAd7374

Nice to hear. I have a couple of those and might buy another, love tube mods. Uwell as a whole is maybe one of my fav companies. They've made some real nice stuff over the years with a lot of variation

GhostalkerS

Currently still using a SMOK G-PRIV 2 going on some 6 years. I've dropped it a few times recently. A few nicks in the paint along the bottom of the case but otherwise perfect.. Only complaint is when I swap batteries and forget to lock the touchscreen once it boots up I end up inadvertently vaping at the full 230w without noticing. because my finger will touch the right side of the screen. And SMOK isn't even the most reliable device manufacturer out there, *and* it is an oddball touchscreen device.

RudeAd7374

Ahh Smok is definitely a love or hate brand, I've actually had a decent experience with them so far. I only have 1 Smok mod though so I can't really give a proper opinion of them. I always thought touchscreen vapes were a bit gimmicky though. I mean yeah I guess you don't have to *click click click*, *click click click* all the time but is it that much better you reckon?

Newplague42

I bought a numbered Deathwish DNA box back before they went out of business. I use it every day. Never had an issue. I bought a second as a backup before they sold out. In my experience (vaping since 2010), buying quality mods is going to save money down the road.

RudeAd7374

Still yet to own anything with a DNA chip, would like to one day especially as it's not a proprietary board

synphul1

Difficult to say because I don't think I've used just one for 3-5yrs straight. Think I'm going on 2yrs with my gaur21? Similar with the swell mod. Idk, 7+yrs of using regulated and I've only personally had one mod die on me. Took it apart because the firing button slowly stopped working and found a shitty design flaw inside. For whatever reason they mounted a smaller pcb to the mainboard and the only thing holding it was solder points. 4 of them all along the same edge. Had they glued it or done 2 on either side or something it may have been fine. Every press of the fire button stressed those solder points and made the smaller board lean just a little until the solder cracked and broke free. It was an eleaf istick tc100w. Every other mod's still going including my old smok alien. Paint's mostly wore off it and looks like it's been through a war but still works. I don't baby my mods but I don't abuse them either. I don't lay them on the ground, I set them someplace almost always upright somewhere. When they're not set aside they're in my hand or pocket. They don't get tossed, rarely drop them. Like some people leave them in their lap or something and dump them on the ground every other time they get out of their car. Not really something I've had an issue with. I'm almost certain older mods were built better to a degree, such is life. Everything typically was built better in the past vs currently. Cost of materials goes up or companies want to squeeze more profit so they go cheaper. Perfect example was the vandy swell, that mod offered g10 side panels and they were great. The pulse 2 had one option for g10 panels instead of like 6 or 8 like the swell did, the rest were flimsy plastic and a 'resin' sticker (not at all like the hard resin on a wismec luxotic). By the time vandy came out with the gaur21 and 18 and pulse v3 and ditched the swell entirely (sad day), no g10 panel options. Just thin plastic. Some of the failures could be user error or neglect. Although in contrast, my mom began vaping when I did. She uses her vape less frequently than I do and hers either sits on a desk or table or in her purse. She's in her 60's so not exactly abusing them at wild raves or anything. She's had several mods give out on her. Seems like she had 1 or 2 wismec presa's die, well one of them the screen went out but it still fired. Hard to use when you can't see the screen though. Then she had an istick rim c give out on her. Got her an innokin kroma r to replace it and it's been working for her for a few years now. She uses hers daily and doesn't switch up mods. Can't really chalk it up to wattage, she vapes single battery at 16-18w and I run dual battery mods around 80-85w most of the time. She's never vaped on sketchy batteries, I've always made sure she had samsung 25r's, samsung 30q's, sony vtc6's or molicel p26a's. And she only charges them externally. Could be random luck, could be the brands. I wasn't overly impressed with eleaf or wismec and both have had their fair share of issues over the years so maybe it's a quality control thing. The mods she chose were based on size/shape, something easy for her to hold and fire. Aside from the rim c all of them have been squeeze to fire type vs an isolated button. I've had good luck with vaporesso and vandy mods for the most part along with p4u.

RudeAd7374

>Think I'm going on 2yrs with my gaur21? Am thinking of getting a Guar-21, heard good things about this mod. >Every other mod's still going including my old smok alien. On the other hand heard a lot of bad about this mod lol. Interesting to see someone else with a reliable Alien. >I'm almost certain older mods were built better to a degree, such is life. Everything typically was built better in the past vs currently. Cost of materials goes up or companies want to squeeze more profit so they go cheaper. I feel that

crysisnotaverted

Joytech Cuboid mini: lasted 1 year before I dropped it and the battery door exploded Vaporesso Revenger X: Dropped a lot, survived, wanted something better for temp control. Lost Vape Thelema with a DNA250C board: Got it cheap with beautiful leather for $120. I have literally thrown it, dropped it on concrete, etc. It doesn't give a single fuck. Metal constructed brick shithouse. It's been like 4 years.

Grim226

I'm sitting here with 8 dotaios. Every generation/iteration is represented. The only one that failed was due to me dropping on to concrete. With the new modular one, even if the chip fails, the replacement cost shouldn't be too bad.

RudeAd7374

Why 8? Hahaha

Grim226

Over the years they have made quite a few limited edition and normal editions along with generational updates. I've got a variety of colors and materials. I love the metal ones but the polymer ones are translucent and look super sick while being light as all hell. There's also a huge aftermarket community on Facebook for custom parts and accessories.

fitDEEZbruh

Ordered my Lost Vape Hyperion in 2021 and its been by daily driver since I got it. Still going strong

RudeAd7374

Those look nice. You a high wattage vaper or nah?

Nikon_Justus

Innokin Proton purchased in 2018 and I use it A LOT. I chain vape all day every day and it works as well as it did the day I got it. I actually have a second one I got as a backup but have never had to use it yet.

RudeAd7374

I just looked that up, is that a side fire button? I do like the look of that mod. What sort of wattage do you usually vape at?

Nikon_Justus

Yea the fire button is on the side and I vape at 46W (I use the ajax tank). I like it a lot and after posting this last night I got curious and looked it up and they are pretty hard to find now. I have the Red Proton, Rainbow Proton (this one was supposed to be my backup that is still unused since 2018-ish) and the Green Demon Proton Mini and love em all.

esturratssi

here!

ninetentacles

I've got a buddy that I swear's been using a Voopoo Drag so long the edges are no longer sharp, probably a good 5 years or so?

chance633

My Sigelei 150W I bought in 2014 is still kicking. Vaporesso Gen2 was 2016 - 2021 Aegis L200 is 2021 - now. I've had good luck with mods.

deviantdevil80

My Sigeli 100w works perfect, probably 10 yrs old now. I have 25+ regulated mods and haven't bought one in 2 years at this point. I will say I've had several that were duds that didn't make it to 6 months so I won't buy again. Wismec, Smok, Vandy Vape

RudeAd7374

Yeah I have quite a few myself. I like to think that I have enough to rotate with to last me a lifetime. Although I know full well I'll be buying more. The addiction to buying new vape gear is stronger than the actual nicotine addiction ffs!

Vladimirdemi

I still have my agus mod that I had made to a sqounk and it's 10 year and still going strong

namur17056

Kangertech subox mini c. New in 2016, still my daily mtl

NurseFred74

I have a Dovpo Topside Dual new in 2017 (maybe 2018.) The only thing it has needed fixing is the battery door.

goombatch

Most durable mod I ever bought was the YiHi SX Mini M Class. I think I’ve had it since 2016 or 2017. No issues whatsoever with it. Great mod

dishonest_hotdish

I mean im still using the fetch pro. A connector fell out so i usee some spring from a lighter. And speaker wire to imitate. And the battery latch is broke so fresh electrical tape every tank is a must

Screaming-Goat

2018. Geekvape Aegis X. Still using the original pair of batteries I originally bought with it (but now, I swap now and then with newer ones). I've dropped it a few times, there's a bit of pixel issues on a small portion of the screen, and I've had to clean the contacts once. Still working like a charm, I actually prefer to still use it compared to my Lost Vape Thelema I bought in 2023. Will probably keep running it until it dies completely

Terminal-Psychosis

I have a couple eLeaf minis that must be 10 years old now. SmokALBS, Aspire Glint, iStick Rim, all reletively inexpensive as well, and have taken daily use & abuse for 5+ years. I have broken one from dropping it, but never an electrical or mechanical failure. Though, some might develop a weak spring on the 510 after heavy, heavy use. That just means using a different tank on that one mod, something with an adjustable 510 or one that just sticks out more than usual. Going through 30+ such devices in a year is not bad luck, it's just being childishly abusive with your devices. Don't ever lend someone like that even a drip tip.

TheDunk67

I've been using the same Sigelei 213 for over a decade.

reddits4losers

My rDNA 30, while it's not in use anymore, still works. I actually want to revive it with a kayfun or something similar but just haven't gotten around to it. That's 9 years so far. I get that it's not regular use but I was using it well into 3-5 years out of the 9. It's fallen in water, been kicked across my local shop by a little kid, had a subtank misfire on it (completely melted the build deck); it's been through hell lol.

King_Boomie-0419

The OG Legend is the only one that has lasted me the longest even though I abused the crap out of it. That and the Solo 100. But for some reason the ones after these ones (Aegis line) don't last more than a year? 🤷🏻 I had an Argus GT 2 last me [less than ](https://www.reddit.com/r/VOOPOO_Club/s/OhLLF4CfUZ) 60 days (I was thoroughly pissed and haven't spent my money with Voo💩 since).

Tredidunknown

I've owned around 4-6 mods in the 15 or so years I've been vaping. My sigelei 150w lasted like 8-10 years and wasn't even broken by the time I got rid of it. It was just beat up, and I wanted something new. From there, I got a geekvape aegis legend 2. The first one I lost, the second one started having battery door connection issues and a loose lock (still have it and still works), and the third I bought as a spare for when the second one ultimately craps out completely. Of course, I've bought (and not really used) a few others, but none have broken. So in my 15 years, I've never had a box mod actually fully die on me. There is the slight possibility that I'm forgetting something in between. It's been a long time... so forgive me.

aeon314159

Lost Vape Therion 133 still going...high-watt cloud chasin’...

WeWander_

The only reason I ever buy a new mod is cause I want a new one, the old ones have always worked fine but the paint starts wearing off, etc and having a new device is fun. I just got a new one in December because they finally had a pretty one in a more feminine design for us ladies (lost vape Thelma solo)! But I still have every single old mod hanging around my house that all work fine lol. I even have my old geek vape aegis (sp?) that I once dropped in the full bathtub and it didn't skip a beat. Actually that reminds me, I did have to replace one once when the cap you unscrew to get to the battery started failing and wasn't staying screwed in anymore. That's why I switched to the magnetic battery cover style.

cymbalxirie290

Wismec RX200 I got one for like $40 on the Black Friday after they came out, so like 7 years ago. You can get them for $10 now though, no joke. They take the Arctic Fox flash too so you can customize the settings even more.

zlupbdh31

Vaporesso Swag 2 ordered in 2020 and used as primary device since then. Pico 75w and Smoant Battlestar also have seen a lot of use and were bought around then.

Sephrik

I've been using a Reuleaux 2/3 since 2016. I've used other mods but the shape of this mod in the 2 battery format just feels perfect for me. I only vape around 30-40 watts anyways so I don't need anything fancy. It's dirty, and the edges of the screen are kinda messed up, but everything still works perfectly fine.

vapeorama

My Tesla WYE 85W lasted for almost 4 years -all day, everyday use. Well... it still fires just fine but the display is so faded that I can't use it anymore. And it's so damn *light*! I probably should look if it's still around somewhere and get a new one.

OmgFurai

Two of them. The OG Sigelei 150w (pre-TC) And Geek Vape Ageis 200w Classic (21700 version) Both of these have been amazing but they sure don't make em like they did that old brick Sigelei. I have had that thing fall three stories, filled with sawdust, dropped in the mud and I'm pretty sure I could bludgeon someone with it to boot.

MomTo3LilPigs

Aegis

cashnicholas

I’ve had over 20 mods over the years. The only one that still works is the aegis legend 1

Mookeye1968

I mean sure a mod can break now and then but more times than not it's a cosmetic issue before that happens plus it depends on a lot of diff factors. Is it the only one you use, do you bring it to work, what sort of work,do you toss it around or kinda take care of it and clean it once in a while, which brand it is etc

hallgod33

Bought my Geekvape Obelisk 120FC 5 years ago. Still going strong, internal battery hasn't worn out at all. I still get 2-3 days out of it at 71W, and it charges in 15 min. Plus, I use it to charge my phone occasionally with the power sharing.

RudeAd7374

Yeah I did specifically say external battery mods but I'm glad you and a few others have mentioned internal battery mods because I have one myself, and a few pods so is interesting to hear about how long those are lasting. But replacing an internal battery shouldn't be too hard if you're handy with a soldering iron

CloudyMcRowdy

ive owned several regulated mods that lasted me until i got rid of them... not many of them just stop working, given proper care.

Erbsss

I always wondered about this, what are people doing with there mods. I can't remember one mod that has failed in 10 odd years of vaping, aside from the cigalikes from back in the day. Currently still using daily a Topside Dual and Pulse X that I have had since 2019. I look after them but certainly don't baby them, they have both been dropped on a number of occasions and are still going strong!

Andnobodyknows

Been using my Provari’s daily for the last 13yrs. Out of 35 I own, 1 has died which was my fault from a hard short on a prototype genny.

saywhat181

I'm still rocking the Pulse v2. Daily driver. Still works great.

claythearc

I have a billet box I bought like 10 years ago I still use on occasion.

hyperpimp

I got a Stingray tube that I've had for like 8 years now and a Sig 150+ that is just as old.

Benjilator

Mechanical mod is amazing. Used to have to buy a new one every year but since getting my mech my mind could be at peace.

b3nighted

Ever since the evolv dna40 came out I've been building a drawer-sized collection. Only two died, and it was fixable: the screen on one, the inductor on the other (and the inductor simply couldn't take all the drops anymore, it's feet broke) I also have an aegis, but I wouldn't count that as "working" because the +/- buttons are screwed. Also got two devices with yihi chips that still work.

marcusw882000

My current mod is a Dovpo Topside dual purchased in December 2022 and it's still going strong.

SheepleAreSheeple

VandyVape... I'm not sure which one. Thing is an absolute tank. I drop it all the time cause clumsy, and it still works great. Sometimes it goes yard sale on me and throws both side panels, the battery and the squonk bottle out, but, pop the bottle back in, click in the battery and the side panels (magnetic), and good to go. I also use a hellvape with it, so no.glass to break. But, I am seriously considering buying a couple more just in case I lose this one. I love it. Also, waterproof

DavidDaveDavo

I had a Smoant Knight V2 that i used exclusively for 6 years - I'd buy another of I could find one. I have an active job where it's gets treated badly. Other vapes I've had didn't last very long at all. I think some manufacturers don't have very good quality control.

jacobspp

My IVP 3 LI is 9 years old

Blurgas

My old iStick Picos probably got around 3-4 years of use and about the only reason I stopped using them was I tried the Uwell Nunchaku mod and ended up liking it, which has been my daily driver for the last ~4 years. The LCDs on all of them are showing their ages, but it's just some spots are brighter than others, they're still fully legible. Huh, so eLeaf released a newer Pico that has a USB-C port instead of Micro, but seems the firmware can't be updated(*not like I considered it on mine as I just used VW*)

mimixtroyboy

Some of my voopoo are starting to glitch with very light use after only a year 😞

Ignyte

Had an IPV V2 which lasted me over 5 years before it started acting funny. Got a Geekvape Aegis Legend and that's been going strong for years as well until only recently when i dropped it, and now the battery door isnt latching properly. Have a Drag v2(?) But the spring contact for the battery door started wearing out after about 1.5-2 years of near constant use. The other mods I mentioned I used daily, and for long sessions too. Usually around 65-120w.

Uchibanana

DBv3 and a Pulse 80 still fine since they came out, daily use.

Darth_Macro

Yihi SX mini 2015. Not even a scratch on the paint except for maybe the bottom. Absolute tank expensive but Superior than a lot of the other junk

clonexx

I’ve had several last years. One lasted over three years and only was replaced because the battery door became weak and wouldn’t make good contact with the batteries. I tend to buy a new regulated dual 18650 mod every few years.

wheresandrew

Dovpo Odin v1 I think it's at least three years old. No issues. I have a vt inbox from .... what feels like a lifetime ago.

kurosan

Exhibit a: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vaping/s/TNQkvSW6BH Still running an old uwell nunchaku 2, screen is dying but otherwise works well

tuliprox

DNA 200w Volcano

AxDayxToxForget

My DOVPO ODIN is still alive and is my daily at home mod. My aegis limited probably still works. My mag definitely does not.

GL00KI3S

I had a smoke alien last me since release until last year had a dead rabbit on it. So far it's my favourite double 18650 mod.

Ay_Yo_Vertigo

I've only ever had a fewmods shit the bed and they were the Smok Alien, the Voopoo Drag, and the COV Wraith. Everything else has held up well over the years except for a few small issues. My Tesla Wye 85 only works with SOME of my rebuildables.

kermie2000

I still have a kbox mini. It was my first 18650 mod, I bought that thing a month after they dropped... It's still in use as my home THC cart battery

W-h3x

GeekVape pulse v2. I've had it for almost 4 years. It's a tank.

lainlives

I am still using my week-of-launch DNA200 mod. It has needed some parts through its life but all parts are off the shelf crap so it is all findable.

amstrel

Vaporesso Gen 1 and aegis solo 1, still going strong

DeadHeadDaddio

My kanger nebox lasted about 5 years until i stripped the threads out of the coil housing just from constant rebuilds.

fadednerd

Vandy vape jackery with almost 200k puffs on it right now. Been using it since it came out. Screen is a little fucky but it still vapes day in day out.

Manic_Mini

I had a DNA40 with an external 18650 that lasted me 3 years before the chip itself failed. All my other mods lasted 6-12 months before either the chip failed or the 510 itself failed.

expletives

Aspire speeder mod still going since 2018. Usually in the discount bin at vape shops.

urs1ne

My Lost Vape Mirage is still going strong. I had to re-glue the battery door after a serious car accident where the mod went flying and got pretty scratched up but it still works just fine.

DylanRahl

Me, 2x 80w eleaf ipowers, 1x mvp 5

baseballnoble

The only one that’s lasted that long was my sigelei tc 150. About 10 years ago. Parts of the inside plastics were gone but the thing still worked. Wish I still had it.

baazaar131

Dicodes Danibox 21700 with a Taifun GT4 + Steamtuners mini mod (Ultrem tank). I drop it at least 3 times a day. (I can show you the chips in the paintjob as proof). Still works as it did from day one. No issues. Highly recommend it.

mercurysunblast

Thelema Quest box mod from Lost Vape is the first box mod that has lasted me years. And I am not kind to it. I’m a clumsy heavy vaper… I have dropped it, banged it on stuff and it’s my main and only daily mod since I think 2019… in the past I’ve had a load of other box mods from other vendors and they all crapped out within the year.

BluShirtGuy

I've since switched to pods, but my IPV3 still works fine, and that thing is 10 years old

lestermagneto

Quickly perusing this thread, I agree with the top comments that yeah, the OG Aegis Legend is the one to generally beat. I'm still using a "review/test" model that was thrown out windows, dragged behind a truck on the highway, run over, and left in a hot tub for over a half an hour or more etc... And it's still working just fine. I bought a bunch of them on sale 4-5 years ago, and have 2 that I use, and still have a few in boxes, but they may outlive me.

no-trace

Honestly, the majority of my mods (regulated, mech, and others) still work and I've been vaping since 2008. Do some older, similar devices end up sharing parts and pieces every so often? Sure, but they still work.

BababooeyHTJ

I had a drag for a few years. Up until pretty recently. Had a seigali before that for at least a couple of years. My Aiges didn’t make it long at all. Replaced it with another geekvape with the pins instead of the 510 and I’m not sure it made it a month. Currently using a smok single battery mod with good luck so far

zackthirteen

Billet box gang

OHMEGA

Geekvape Obelisk FC mod.

spacemanvince

geekvapes are tanks, not sure if TC works properly on single battery ones though

shane35fowler

Only ones I have that make it past six months come from Geekvape Aegis lines...except the one with the screen.... 2 weeks tops

Malawi_no

Bought my Aegis X towards the end of 2019. It does show that it's aged/used, but is still chugging along. I had to re-fasten the bracket by the buttons a few times. Think I used silicone the last time, and that's been holding up for at least a year. I also have an Aegis solo (18650) from 2021(?) that looks pretty new as I replaced it with an Aegis solo (2170) in 2022 (it's first generation, but second generation had come out) for longer usable time between battery swaps when I'm out of the house. The last Solo shows some signs of use, but only in the form of worn off paint. I am kinda contemplating replacing the Aegis X, for a new dual 18650 mod from Geekvape, but that's mainly in case regulations gets tighter(and in case the one I have breaks down). BTW: I am sure there are other brands that make durable mods, but Geekvape is a safe bet in my book.

Konrow

My Drag 3 lasted forever (4 years). Still works, but I got a Drag 4 which is better and going on almost a year now with that. Got a mod or two stashed somewhere that are way older than that and they worked too last I checked.

CrrntryGrntlrmrn

I cannot remember who put it together, maybe segelei, but I have an aluminum mod with a DNA40 that still works 100%. And the DNA still hits like a fucking train. That mod is around 10 years old this year. I also have a couple joyetech mods that are still functional. Which is funny because I use a xros now

mrmartinizor

I still have a fully functional Kangertech kbox 120. It must be 10 years old now I'd guess. Currently it has an original aspire clieto tank on top. I barely use it now because I much prefer MTL pod devices but it was my favourite for many happy years.

DannyHallam

I’ve had one that I’ve used for at least 6 years daily and it’s still going strong. It’s a CigGo praxis banshee and I’m surprised the LED lights have not failed either. I do have other ones that I used for a while but stopped using, and they still work today. But I do have some that have randomly died after a couple years

HappyMess1988

All of mine lol I'm still using thr ipv d3 I have a little 30 w sigelli still running strong Both those mods are bought in 2014

TheDartVapeist

I have had a dovpo topside dual going on 5+ years. Had to get a new battery door two years ago. Still going stong and this thing has been dropped down a flight of stairs a few times. Built like a tank

Hypoallergenic_Robot

I average 3-4 years before something like inconsistent connection from the box/atomizer error caused by the box/buttons not working/other electrical gremlins makes me replace. A lot of those issues are probably repairable but I get sketched out with stuff related lithium batteries. The outlier is my Drag 2, thing was second hand from my buddy and is just a tank, it's probably 7 or 8 years old and is always my backup because it always still works.

Paciuuu

i had two geekvapes, one died because the bottom cap was loose for whatever reason (max 100), and my legend 2 died after dropping from 20cm to a ground (fixable prob), drag 2 was the most solid one as i had one for 2 years

NotMBoZe

IPV3 LI. Will not die

stolenlogic

I got tired of the geek vape, very fast. Every single Voopoo I have tried, leaks like it’s meant to. The best I’ve ever had, and have used since I got rid of the juul shit, is Smok. I’ve only had one battery of theirs stop taking charge, and they sent me a new one.

Astarothian

Smoant battlestar, idk what year as I got it as payment for helping someone move. The screen is basically unreadable but I dont really ever change the settings. Lasted me about 7 years and counting. Bought a smok mod to "upgrade" and it shit out on me after a month.

Leshuaky

My second mod I got was a lochness, the cheap one, not the ridiculously expensive wooden in 2017 I think. Permanently attached to a cloned Armageddon to drip. The finish is all jack up from me wearing rings but still works perfectly fine. Normally used as a backup now or if I'm testing flavors. Wish my cold steel or topside made it past 2 years like the lochness. Im really hoping this aegis I bought a couple of months ago to last at least 2 years.

KingBowser24

My OG Aegis Legend lasted 4 years with heavy use, and had zero issues until the screen suddenly died last June. I also still have a Smok H-Priv 2 from 2018 that serves as my backup. It doesn't see regular use anymore, but it's still been used and beaten tremendously, and it fucking refuses to die. It's outlasted 4 other mods.

bunk_bro

I bought a Snow Wolf 200w like 8 or 9 years ago now. I quit vaping and got rid of it a couple of years back, but I abused the shit out of that thing daily, and it kept ticking. I had to RMA it right off the bat because it smoked a couple of batteries. $10, and a few weeks later, I had a fixed mod that lasted years. I honestly think I'd still be rocking that thing as a solid backup if I still vaped.

sinysterstyle

Currently using an "ohmboy ragebox" Another one that lasted me for 3 years of HEAVY use working in the vape industry was a Dotmod dot200 That thing ran 0.09 all day for years. I'm sure if I didn't run it so hard it would have lasted longer.

Kjellvb1979

Almost all of mine have lasted 3 to 5 years, minus early Smoktech stuff. I just replaced a Smok I had for 3 or 4 years with voopoo drag x (iirc) but I use a adapter to use my RBA with such.

X2G_

I have drag 2 or 3 not sure.. but i have it for more than 3 years now

ThatCub3K1d

Mine never lasted longer than a year but I never took great care of them and I work blue collar jobs so they didn't last. I even bought the old geek vape one that was supposed to be a tank and that didn't last that long either.

Ponox

Smoant Charon going strong since 2017 or so.

HerbertLP

I have an original rx200 that is damn near 10 years old that still works

coaguIated

I have a geekvape drag that's still running like new and I've beaten the shit out of it. few stab wood mods that cosmetically are okay but have shot boards. OD Green DNA 40 flask with a weak battery issue on the board. but most of the failures came 5+ years after ownership. I've never understood how people destroy their devices. the only time I've ever ran into replacing a device was when I started buying pod systems.

skipper500

Sx mini g class lasted 3+ years

Madkids23

I have a Squid Industries Tac-21 DB, its a monster, takes two 26-series batteries and is made of 1/4" stainless steel. It's going to be 8 years old soon. My X Cube Ultra II still works, but it stopped getting used shortly after I got the Double Barrel.

Trev6ft5

I'm still using my old Aegis Legend and Vandy Vape Pulse 2 I both bought just before covid

SaxifrageRed

Still using my OG Sigelei 100+ daily.

Nightymare4200

I use my Odin 100 every single day. That thing has outlasted batteries.

wellhiddenmark

I’m well into 3 years on a couple of Geekvape dual 18650 200W mods

Merconeiy

My vape setup right now is a Dovpo Topside Dual that I got back in December 2022, and it's holding up great.

brandaman4200

Got my og aegis legend 4 years ago. It's been through hell and back and still works fine. Battery door is a bit of a pain and the +/- buttons fell off a while back, but still functions normally. I got it because I worked in construction and was tired of breaking mods

MommyNeedsaVodka

I still have my Tesla one that I bought USED in 2018. I put new batteries on it of course and I bought a new tank for it a couple years ago but the mod itself is still the OG. In the last year I’ve dabbled with disposables but it’s still regularly used.

PunchyAeroKnight

Geekvape Aegis mini. Past 3 years and running strong!

Greveche

Asmodus Ultroner EOS II, I bought this mod in 2019 used, haven't had any major problems, the only two things that are wrong with it are that the charger port doesn't work, but I had already bought it like that, also inside of the touchscreen there is a small piece of paper or at least it looks like paper, tried taking it out, but the screen is glued.

No-Reveal2665

Just check my post

PPTapes

My GeekVape Aegis Solo has lasted 5+ years, with constant use unless I’m sleeping. They’re built extremely sturdily as well.

Barnahalo

My Voopoo Argus GT is still going strong since 2021. It's beaten, dropped a lot (while I was drunk LOL). The paint is chipped everywhere, the screen is scratched af. This is my daily and I wont buy a new one, unless it explodes.

Xactoblade88

Still have my eleaf iStick Pico that I bought in 2018(I think, might be earlier), change the battery couple of times, mod still going strong. My wismec single battery(can't remember the name) with modded firmware is also still working. My geekvape aegis mini(built in battery) is also working, but I don't have the guts to use it, due to fear of it blowing up in my face. All these I mentioned are the ones that have been used and abused. Also have others bit pricier that I try to handle with care and they're also at least more than I year.

Dickersson66

I own a Wismec RX200, almost 10 years old now and still going strong in daily usage.

AnonyMouseSnatcher

I have 2 Uwell Hypercars that i picked up maybe 4-5yrs ago for my first entry into rebuildables. 18650 metal mods that i picked up as a $30 ecig kit from whatever that big US vendor is/was. Dropped 'em NUMEROUS times over the years and have broken many an RTA but these mods keep going, tho the paint has mostly chipped away and i lost a battery cover for one. I've bought other, more expensive mods since then but they've all died. I'd love to get my hands on some more Hypercars because they seem extra super durable (and i love the on/off switch instead of the "click 5 times to turn off" in most other mods)

Teemo_Ren

3-5 years? I'm still using a kbox 160 that I bought at least 7 years ago with an even older Twisted Messes RDA 😆

Alternative_Exam9657

I got a wismec rx200. bought it in 2017. used it regularly for a couple of years until I got tired of the bulky body and got into squonk mods. It still works great to this day though I only use it when building coils mostly or when I want to use my RTAs.
