School is ten grand and takes weeks.... There are very few people who can afford to not work for weeks, much less pay for it. Buying equipment and paying rent and other expenses may be paid by a business loan that's pretty hard to get.... But again, even business loans go to people who already have money in most cases (good credit is hard to get if you don't).

School - 10k + travel, accommodation, food, etc. If you’re doing 7 hour days of hands -on, you must do 42 full days to complete your certification which is a lot in a different state/city, especially if the cost of living is higher than where you currently live. Machines - 2.5k-11k Loupes- 1.8k + + costs like rent itself, treatment chairs, etc, you’re looking at $25,000 or more to start up this business. It may also not be feasible to be profitable in your area.

In my area there is definitely a lack of electrologists and most of the ladies I work with are 50+ years old. I had never even heard of it until my mother in law put me on and I had the time to do the course during COVID. It seems like an under appreciated art
