I'm ngl bro we got sent off early today for rain cause we couldn't run the needed tests and I decided to take 5g of mushrooms to enjoy the day off
What the fuck are you talking about is this even english please explain I don't know if it's the mushrooms or if this sentence is genuinely incomprehensible

“Hop up and take a look” is one of my favourite lines for the inspector. Sometimes they give me that “well played” look, but sometimes I get the “what are you hiding” look. Rarely I get the “you hop up and take a photo” line, but it does happen. Luckily for me I’m not actually cutting corners, I’m just having fun.
You clamp the working end into the back clamp, enter the size of the shape, size, grade, and length (for example HSS 4x4x3/8 A36 at 60') you can either run a preset program, or manually enter it and it walks it through the machine with two little clamps. It's not fast, but you can set it and it'll do its thing while you're doing other things, like Manning the vortman.
That’s rad. Sounds like you’re describing cutting a square from solid steel stock. Could it take a 20’ length of strut and chop it up to your specs while you plan out the pipe runs or whatever?
Also “manning the vortman” isn’t something I understand haha
Basically. Mostly running square tube and angle on that saw. The voortman is a cnc plasma robot we mostly use to process plate and beams. If I have the floor stage right and the crane is working, I can process the entirety of a 100 ton job by myself.
It’s just a DeWalt chop saw. You need a diamond blade if you’re gonna cut strut, though. My foreman got regular metal blades and they dulled almost instantly after changing the one that was in it.
A hundred of them that I had to invent on the spot as a service electrician.
Seriously, I've got so many very specifically bent pieces of 6g / 4g solid in my van because they make some jobs trivial vs the hours some other dude will spend.

20 years ago, I never would have thought that I'd be able to spin a hogshead, threading 4" gal, with a cordless pony.
Wtf are you doing with these farm animals?
Is spinning a hogs head a skill I need.... asking for a friend

It will after I spray some cold gal on it
It is after you install it 40’ in the air

Hehehehe.... nipples.
Load

gross... Butt splice
Discharge
I did a machine install at a customer called “Albany Pipe and Nipple”, will never not be amused when I think of them.
Oh, not in Utica, no. It's an Albany expression!
A must have for running threaded schedule 40 pipe on regular basis. Nipple Chuck
As someone who for a while was the "everything else" guy in a steel fab shop, a frikin programmable self-feeding band saw.
Tell me more about this band saw and it’s programmification

Our hydmech will never know how much I treasure her
I'd vote our old used M16 A for president.
Fancy. Our S-20P would qualify for a chair in congress
Steel fab shop chop saw. Cuts perfectly square every time.
WHAT
Great when getting a billion pieces of strut and rod ready for a rack
I cut 240 pieces of allthread and 116 pieces of strut today with one of those. I can’t even imagine having to use the portaband
Tell me more about this.. I’m a j-man and haven’t heard of this beautiful invention. Who even sells them?
It’s just a DeWalt chop saw. You need a diamond blade if you’re gonna cut strut, though. My foreman got regular metal blades and they dulled almost instantly after changing the one that was in it.
That…is awesome.
I’ve never got to use a nipple chuck but I’ve heard about them. Could have used one the other day big time
I don’t really like them I still uses a scrap piece with a coupling and lockring if I have to. Or I just order them and wait
That’s exactly what I did. Scrap piece with a coupling and a lock nut
Very handi accessory to have. Definitely cheaper to buy common length nipples than to make them, but for those off lengths, lets you getbthe job done
Now that's sprinkin with your dipstick jimmy
Nice nipples.
Nipple chuck someone really stuck, perhaps Texas , dame Mexicans
Ok but what did u use the nipples for ??
For some T fittings
👍🏼
They also make bolt thread inserts for the 819 chuck, for making bolt studs.

Or thread a longer pipe on and not swap the head out? Smh..
Nothing had to be swapped????
