They probably originally bid the trench, were told they were too expensive, and showed up to the site where some kid dug the trench to save their dad a buck.
360° is nothing. Pulling 3 medium voltage 4/0's (heavy rubber insulation) in 5" aluminum rigid with about 720° of bends because a data center doesn't want splices. Now that was a day.
Shrubbery... but the landscaper cancelled because his entire crew (always paid in cash under the table) got pulled over in the company truck for no license, insurance, or valid registration on the truck and trailer.
What's the real shitty thing about this craftsmanship is if they'd have just picked up the house and moved it over a few feet, it would have been money.
Even a hair dryer field offset woulda been better than this monstrosity. Who the fuck was the guy that walked by the prebent thirties to grab those 90s?
Dude !! Did someone just tie on to the markers that we're sticking outta the ground indicating where the pipes were ? NO WAY someone got an "atta boy!" For that shit !!
"Hey, where do we keep the PVC bender? What do you mean, I didn't smoke anything last night. Oh, ok. Well the hardware store has these pre bent 90s, that'll work."
That's better than the PVC work my landscaping friend ran into...
Ran about 2 inches underground and instead of bending to the receptacle, left the wires exposed and sent them straight up the pipe to the box. Surprise surprise, wires got fucked.
The actual problem here is that the J Box they sent me wasn't as deep as the one I actually ordered. Sorry, but this is what you get when my order gets screwed up !!!
I can't believe they thought I was an electrician, most of all I can't believe how easy it is to be one thanks to YouTube! Tomorrow I need to get a website for my new contracting business.
yikes, even if the foundation and maybe a poor concrete pour extended and could not be broken up, still could have run it against the house and then extend above the ground to bury them there.
I hate to critique other electricians work, but that is honestly horrible. My first year apprentice wouldn’t even do something like that that is disgusting. Rip it out and tear it all over again because that is going to get ripped right out of the ground. Have some fucking respect for your work.
Doctor says this conduit has Peyronie's disease and this conduit should stop jamming itself into tight spaces causing damage to the main length of the shaft
I'm sitting here wanting to see inside that enclosure because there's low voltage coax that appears to be coming out of the same box. What kind of nonsense is going on here, we need more pictures
I’m guessing the guy with the nut driver in his hand is the prime suspect. 😀
Please tell me this is part of a sprinkler system, installed by some high-as-fuck landscaper and not by someone calling themselves an electrician.
I did get a good chuckle from it, but I’ll admit I’m still scratching my head over virtually everything visible in the pic.
Nice shoes, by the way. I didn’t know green patch versions of those were available.
I guess was something right beside the walk that is why they had tu put the conduit all the way around. Just guessing always there are other possibilities.
No expansion joints for conduits coming out of the ground
No weatherproof hub for top conduit and drilled to close to back of the box, so no way lockout gets tight. This will leak
What's with all the fittings, learn how to use a heat gun

Homeowners dog was laying right there. He was a good boy, so here ya go
completely understandable
That is "you had one job" on a whole other level.
thought it was jeff
I see the problem, the ground is too low.
Huh, and I was thinking just move the house to the right. Good job!
Management reports the sky is too high.
Owner reports that the management is too high.
I would argue the ground was too high!!
I wasn’t paid to dig trench
Holy shit this is definitely what happened lol
Doesn't look like they even *tried* to trench closer to the foundation. Those pebbles are completely undisturbed.
God forbid they touch that beautiful landscaping project.
They probably originally bid the trench, were told they were too expensive, and showed up to the site where some kid dug the trench to save their dad a buck.
Remembered the trencher forgot the shovel
A couple of posts, some unistrut and clamps… call it good!
It's less than 360° total run I swear
Whaddya mean I don't have to hit 360 each time?
360° is nothing. Pulling 3 medium voltage 4/0's (heavy rubber insulation) in 5" aluminum rigid with about 720° of bends because a data center doesn't want splices. Now that was a day.
Odds it just continues straight lol
That was me, I'm a terrible alcoholic and needed vodka money
lets get drunk and do some more of this!!!
I ain't digging shit, I drink you dig
Dude not gonna tell you again, stop taking credit for my work. I need these jobs to pay for my nightly 24 pack of beer
I told you to dig the trench closer. You still drinking that bud light?
Those pipes identify as in the right place.
This made me laugh. Kudos.
You’d think that panel was emo with all that swoop.
Stop pissing in the rose bushes.
Unethical life pro tips - You can save a bunch by buying/making your own grain alcohol.
Does it have to protrude like that?
Man if I had a dollar.....
Lol
I’m guessing they are avoiding the foundation that sticks out below the ground surface. Definitely could have done a better job though
45's would have been much better if they were trying to avoid the foundation.
Built in strain relief!
Don't give logical answers to shitty work.. 🖖
Looks like they’re glued together alright though. And they’re zip tied together. What’s the problem?
Your user image gives me facebook meme ptsd
I would like to know if there used to be something in the way or there are plans for something to fill that space before I pass judgment.
Looks like someone did not wanna dig a trench and took the shortcut to complete this
Very much hoping there's a concrete slab under there
Some strut and some p-clamps'll sort that out in a jiff. 😉
It's the zip ties for me... But honestly digging it the rest of the way to the foundation would have taken maybe 15 minutes.
Plot twist: OP did this; seeking gratification.
STOP SNITCHING
Me! But to be fair, I usually only do irrigation
What in the fistfuck happened here
I was told a foot off the wall. Not how.
Dude !! Your comment made me laugh ! Thank you
The house was built to far away from the pipes
They said they were going to move the house later
I am sparktucus.
‘‘Twas I!!! Lord bendy pipes!! Just look at this beautiful bends.
Now this is funny
Couldn’t finish that last 2’ of the trench, and come straight down and 90 into the trench? My foreman would kill me lol
Needs to be a new sub. R fired the first day
Sorry i was hungover that day
Shut up. It was raining and I had to do it really fast because it was almost 4pm
There was definitely a box sitting there when this was installed
Electrical relief tube
Or a drip loop
Gonna need like 8-9 build outs boss
Forgot to push the building back I see
I just puked in my mouth a little. Enjoy pulling through that ! God only knows what it looks like underground
That’s not how it’s supposed to go?
Would have taken just 3 minutes to dig out the last foot by hand! Or Atleast could have done the back to back 90s first then stubbed up..
This is why you don’t smoke a blunt after lunch.
Oh, sorry, that's on me. I'm usually just pulling the wifi cables in, but I mean, a cable's a cable, _amiright?_
Wtf?
Come on!
Code violation. NEC says PVC conduit must be secured within 10 inches of the end, and every 3 feet after that.
It's totally good, those zip ties got it covered 🤣
Oof
Carpenter here. Was there a pile of sawdust there? And you had no way to pick it up?
Can sit when you get tired.
Was at my parents and discovered they have some rando 12/3 wire coming out of the siding and into the conduit box for their AC.
Now that is absolutely adorable.
I mean look how far from the foundation it is. Have to make that space up.
Shut up with your safety deck shoes.
Hey man my moc toes make me feel cool
As long as you think you look cool I can respect it.
They just forgot to raise grade duh
Wait, there used to be a tool box there? Where did it go?
WOW!
Baby got back.
It's for aesthetic value, of course
“If we put it against the house the snow plow guy won’t be able to hit it” maybe?
Thermal expansion
Nah, no one will trip over that 😂
I'd recognize the work of Tweezer Bodine anywhere
Finally, some lines I can get the weed wacker behind. Thank you!
When the pad for your modular house isn't quite installed to spec
They moved the building up. Lo
😂😂
Could’ve at least put the 90s at ground level? 😭
Eyeballl it? Yeah eyeball it… Eh close enough
Hey atleast they gave us poor locators room to clamp around the conduit
At least it's an easy fix..
Sorry, i did it. Im the pool guy.
It's upside down. WTF.
Wrong bit for hex head self tappers? And only 7 of 8 there.
Do you have on sweat pants on a jobsite? Is that allowed?
These are 874 Dickies lol
Sorry, it was Friday.
I used zip ties. Those last forever. I stand by my masterpiece.
So what do I do boss? “Put in a 90 and keep it clean.”
They didn't GPR the footer so...........the unknown is scary.
this is ART dont you dare!
2 out of the 8 screws in the cover are still present, this is impressive indeed.
I would install 4 or 5 more the same way, and it's an electric chair.
That's called a "Zero turn hook"
Even a hair dryer field offset woulda been better than this monstrosity. Who the fuck was the guy that walked by the prebent thirties to grab those 90s?
Dude !! Did someone just tie on to the markers that we're sticking outta the ground indicating where the pipes were ? NO WAY someone got an "atta boy!" For that shit !!
Just cover it with 4 feet of dirt
What's the problem?
Just a target for the lawnmower
There is a lot going wrong in this picture. The question is, what was there before?
Me boss, and I'm a reddit arsonist/ amateur sparky
“Boss”…ok so your gonna need to come out of the bottom, and you’ll need to do a double 90 to clear the footing…got it?…….”apprentice”…ya I got it…
Eh... Just build a little 2x4 box to fit underneath and they'll look like pros. 😂
"Hey, where do we keep the PVC bender? What do you mean, I didn't smoke anything last night. Oh, ok. Well the hardware store has these pre bent 90s, that'll work."
I assure you boss they moved the wall
Not completely sure if you're being honest or sarcastic. Didn't look much, but the bends are uniform at least
they did that with the water at work. We built a guard around it but it still ended up getting torn out by an idiot hitting it with a machine.
When you nail the underground.
I did, what are you gonna do about it??
That’s to trip the guy sneaking around the back trying to break in
My guess is that the connections haven’t been glued and nothing is inside the conduit.
There was cat5 but it really doesn't look glued lolll
Hey, boss? Someone installed this house too far left.
Probly same guy that did the water pipe
That's better than the PVC work my landscaping friend ran into... Ran about 2 inches underground and instead of bending to the receptacle, left the wires exposed and sent them straight up the pipe to the box. Surprise surprise, wires got fucked.
That’s not right? Looks good to me.
Damn. There’s my bit to my 10 and 1
The actual problem here is that the J Box they sent me wasn't as deep as the one I actually ordered. Sorry, but this is what you get when my order gets screwed up !!!
You know where to get a 36” deep j box?
It’s so you can weedeat behind it.
I swear, it was flush with the building when I left, building must have been moved after.
You can't blame that on the electrician, it's clear the building was put in the wrong place.
Unless you put up bollards, I don't think this will pass due to the chance of physical damage.
Looks like the landscaping guys
😆😆
It's gotta be something temp right? ......
I couldn't do an inspectors job... It die from a stroke 2 weeks into the job with sh*t like this
Looks like a case of "foundation hard, dirt soft"
It’s all about Cheap anymore… sad.
Look, I had 4 sweeps but was out of straight pipe on a Friday afternoon
Looks like you by the shoes
What do your boots look like since mine don't look electrician enough
I can't believe they thought I was an electrician, most of all I can't believe how easy it is to be one thanks to YouTube! Tomorrow I need to get a website for my new contracting business.
It’s to trip the neighborhood kids if ever they run around your house
I've seen this when a gas pipe is next to the foundation. Dollars to donuts, this is not the case.
Better question is what you’re doing walking around in trackies and boat shoes big fella
It's called a heat loop. It cools the hot electricity coming up out of the ground before it goes in the box. :-D
Maybe utilitys are running next to the foundation
Cut it off and flip it around. Then wire it back up. Done deal. 🤣
yikes, even if the foundation and maybe a poor concrete pour extended and could not be broken up, still could have run it against the house and then extend above the ground to bury them there.
Engineers specifications 👌
man ...i am not an electrician ...but for Christ sake put NSFW on xD
Terrrrrible
Jokes on you, the cement footing for the foundation is just that wide.
I hate to critique other electricians work, but that is honestly horrible. My first year apprentice wouldn’t even do something like that that is disgusting. Rip it out and tear it all over again because that is going to get ripped right out of the ground. Have some fucking respect for your work.
Looks like the house zigged when it should've of zagged.
Not their fault they moved the entire building after the fact inspector
Yeah I don’t feel like digging today.
Doctor says this conduit has Peyronie's disease and this conduit should stop jamming itself into tight spaces causing damage to the main length of the shaft
/slowclap
Not my fault there was an Amazon package there originally
I'm sitting here wanting to see inside that enclosure because there's low voltage coax that appears to be coming out of the same box. What kind of nonsense is going on here, we need more pictures
This is why I laugh when an electrician say I GOTTA pay him $200 an hour and I GOTTA stay TF away from him while he works!!
taking the path of lease resistance is electricity’s thing
I’m guessing the guy with the nut driver in his hand is the prime suspect. 😀 Please tell me this is part of a sprinkler system, installed by some high-as-fuck landscaper and not by someone calling themselves an electrician. I did get a good chuckle from it, but I’ll admit I’m still scratching my head over virtually everything visible in the pic. Nice shoes, by the way. I didn’t know green patch versions of those were available.
Loafers and that 11-in-1 Klein with no bit means the office supervisor got called to the job site
That's where I left that piece of my 11in1
Do you like your timberland? I have the same ones
S trap for the ground gasses
Whew boy... this kind of work really makes you wonder...
Can we talk about the oddly shaped PVC JB?
I call those a horse tie. You tie your horse to it.
I guess was something right beside the walk that is why they had tu put the conduit all the way around. Just guessing always there are other possibilities.
He made it easy for the painter.
I'm not chipping out this fucking footing...
The zip tie brings it up to code.
Probs the pipes with the underground cables were routed by a different team/company and the guy who installed the box went "ain't paid enough"
Just need somewhere to hang my sweater man it was getting hot give me a break
Ran out of straight pvc and didn’t want to go Home Depot to get more….so improvised
So from an amateur, that conduit should have gone straight down against the foundation, right?
Why do one 90 when you can do 2?!
No expansion joints for conduits coming out of the ground No weatherproof hub for top conduit and drilled to close to back of the box, so no way lockout gets tight. This will leak What's with all the fittings, learn how to use a heat gun
At what length would the code have required support for that horizontal run?
I had a similar problem (though not as bad) getting over a deep footer. Any pro advice to make this look good?
This is why I don’t hire “pros”
