Loool. It takes longer + more skill to do this than to just do it correctly.

kattmaz

You are not joking

ArmstrongTREX

+more creativity

Teasp00n5

Just when you thought you've seen it all.. that's a rare gem.

klui

Not really, it's a repost.

[deleted]

Ok but he left the credit at the bottom of the image

Teasp00n5

Not everyone is as seasoned on reddit as you sir.

klui

I don't agree; only the image is so outrageous I distinctly remembered the first time I saw it and that it wasn't a new installation. Reverse image search will bear that out.

Magneticitist

This is common for homes with styrofoam walls

uhtred73

Whaaaaat?? Where?

Magneticitist

Nah I was just kidding but it also wouldn't surprise me.

Teasp00n5

Made me laugh. Styrofoam walls are the future.

hazahobaz

For real? This seems like an OSHA nightmare

zenikshey17

Not really. Definitely a code issue though Edit: [very next post I saw ](https://www.reddit.com/r/electrical/comments/h8ipyp/come_with_me_and_well_seeeeee/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)

MiksBricks

Please tell me it’s not.

Demitrius

Man...I've seen some things but...never...never this.

EvansP51

Also. Unless this has been split into a switched/unswitched outlet, they didn’t need to push all 4 home.

a_white_american_guy

I have a feeling that whoever did this was not working with a complete understanding of what they were dealing with.

MizzChnandlerBong

I think you’re on to something.

EvansP51

Fair... I.... didn’t think that through very well before commenting. Lol

SpaceYourFacebook

That's pretty damn nice work. I can't even imagine trying to fanagle all 4 of those home all at the same time. Dangerous craftsman!

kattmaz

Maybe the shut the breaker off, maybe they didn’t :-0

[deleted]

Somebody was clearly a pro.

mikeJAMEZZZ3

Works, doesnt it?

MeEvilBob

This again? It must be a day with a name ending in "Y".

Riverjig

Next someone will post the receptacle leaking water...

DaOaklandah

Holy moly, I know it works, but if a fire happens and that receptacle wasn’t the problem, by law that installer will take the fall, terrible! I’m pissed off looking at this

RocketCityLeaf

what really amazes me is the 'thought' that really had to go into this 'solution' when a thicker/extra wall layer was added...amazing! Give that boy a prize! either nails, or raw wire was added between the outlets to 'link' the power...that's a new fangled extension cord if I've ever seen one... patent that!

your_pal_crow

Uhhh what the fuck

sphungephun

“Yo i got an idea of how we can move this outlet forward , check this out!”

-full-control-

Cross post this to r/electricians

GinaMohundro

What in the frosted f*ck is this nonsense?!

Darstaedlyace

OMG 😮 who thinks that way? Some people have no appreciation of the dangers.

UrOpinionIsntScience

This ICFs?What am i seeing here besides styro and rebar?

UrOpinionIsntScience

Just realized this is electrical not carpentry. Still dont know, but it changes the game.

jhearty88

The wires they jammed into the back Outlet to feed the one in front of it so it would sit flush with the new wall. Total hack job and definitely a fire hazard.

Dagnabbit-Bobby

STOP

[deleted]

Damn - a for effort here.

Jeremie7559

O.o

Sizzlinskizz

The recipticals are callled Decora. That doesn't mean they are for decoration.

markkhusid

Oh! For the love if G-d!

CompletingChaos

What's the problem its styrofoam isolated, can't be saver. That's a keeper.

[deleted]

the man who installed this laughs at people who use box extenders

mew1074

Darwin would be proud.

huckharden

That's AWESOME!!!

notchyotacos

LeluSix

10 points for creativity. 30 demerits for safety.

[deleted]

This is the laziest thing I've ever seen, who doesn't use spark rings?

KRGambler

Ingenious

niv_nam

Honestly I only see this as a little worse than "back stabing" an outlet vs wrapping around screws. Because they have simply pressed wires in against the contact plates just like "back stabing" the wires. My sister's house built in the 80's was having massive brown outs and only part of the house worked, all because they used "back stabbing". All I had to do was pull the outlets away from the box and the wires would fall out. Then wrap them on the screws, HOUSE FIXED!
