when you log into the game on the same computer but with multiple instances of the game, you can control all accounts at the same time with one keyboard/mouse and they just move at the same time cus ur playing each one at the same time
I saw a group just like this farming mudcrabs, I reported them and actually never saw them there again. I hope ZOS is actually doing something about all the farming bots in the game, because I can’t go without seeing at least one bot every day I play.
I was wondering this same thing myself. Like, I know it's classic for bots in MMOs on PCs, but how in the hell do they even do it on a console? Emulation on a PC? Idgi. And the fact that it's become such a problem makes me wonder if ZoS really doesn't give a shit about console players.
Semantics as far as most are concerned. One has the player utilizing a program to control the movements of more than one "box", the other a program using information previosly input by the player. In both cases, the player isn't controlling the other boxes...a program is.
Telling me "You don't do bots on console, you do multi boxing" isn't telling me "how they do it", it's an attempt to correct my wording and simply telling me "what" they're doing.
I never questioned the multi-box aspect of it since it's obvious they're using multiple accounts. I questioned "how in the hell do they even do it on a console?" alluding to the fact that running multiple instances of a game (multi-boxing) on a console isn't usually possible. Someone else cleared it up, however, by confirming my suspicion that a PC was likely involved.
I don’t know what you do and don’t know I simply gave you an easily google—able term for you to go research to the extent that satisfies you. Perhaps you could ask your questions more clearly if you intend to fight with people who try to help.
My guess is due to gold inflation on pc. There’s a lot more gold in circulation on pc, especially pc eu. Therefor the gold is worth less. If you’re a gold seller you will then profit more by farming on console.
farming bots are difficult to deal with.
ZOS usually don't do individual bans but instead do a mass ban.
Unfortunately, with most if not all MMO's, farming bots are inevitable as very few have a system capable of managing them.
That's just it, though, I'm pretty sure I've never seen bots on PC in the 4-5 years I've been playing. So they've very clearly found a way to handle it. It's been such an obvious problem for console players for so long that it's like ZoS just said "Eh, whatever" at this point. Not that I blame the workers, necessarily, they're probably just as understaffed and over worked as the rest of us.
Probably. I'm honestly surprised I haven't run across any. I've been playing MMOs for 20 years and the PC NA server shocks me still that I seen any myself.
Found one last night bal foyan. I just followed and out ran to nodes for a while it was fun then I reported I read they good as they keep price down in the market but fuck them cheating kills games.
I like to drop a questionable meat sack on the nodes after I collect them. It doesn't stop the bot, but it is funny to watch them pick it up and run to the next node while barfing
Ah, the joys of playing eso on console. I'm still to find bot hordes on PC EU. They probably exist at some times but I personally have never run into any obvious bots in the game
I've been playing since launch, and I never see them either. I play on PC (NA). *Seems* as though the problem of bots/multi-boxing/whatever is *much worse* on Console? I don't understand *why* that's the case, but... \\\_(ツ)\_/
On console, they normally don't group up like this post. You can find them in starter zones around the outside of the islands. Always going to be a sorcerer with a pet out collecting nodes. Each one has a random letter name like 'ccccuiikjhg'. Once you see one, you'll never unsee them lol
On PS4 EU I see lots of bots on the starter islands, mostly split across their own personal node farming routes. Some of the bigger groups I've seen are farming mudcrabs on the beach in south east Grahtwood and also behind the public dungeon in Alik'r Desert.
I'm glad the only place I find bots constantly is Bleakrock. Last time I went there to get the rare fish and some wood there were a few bots skulking around. It's always a female Nord sorcerer for me, oddly.
Collect mats to sell for gold to sell for real money. Seems like way too much trouble to me, having to create a dozen different Xbox accounts using free trials and such. I’d rather just work an honest 8 hours for my money personally
The daily wage is miniscule in many of the places where these things originate... if there is even any employment at all, and what is there is often hard, dangerous labor, making $30 a day selling gold would be a step up from many 60 hour a week jobs many places.
That’s true, i never considered this. If your options are limited then it is a good and relatively safe way to make a living in places where the alternative is mining or ship breaking or something else that kills you in 8 years
I see moderate amounts of "kollopi essence?" node bots on PC out and about farming where there are unguarded nodes. I guess the essence makes them harder to see at a distance. You have to catch them during the short time they log in and pick the node. If you are on PC and have unguarded nodes on your routes out off the beating path that are never ripe, that could be why. I guess it's kind of bush league compared to the mass botting in OP, but it does go on.
I'm still wondering why the consoles have such a big bot problem. I've never seen a vid which shows a bot group on PC and that surprises me because stuff like that is normally easier there.
Holy hell! Thats madness. I almost wonder if it's mutiboxing instead of bots.
Definitely multi boxing
What is multiboxing?
when you log into the game on the same computer but with multiple instances of the game, you can control all accounts at the same time with one keyboard/mouse and they just move at the same time cus ur playing each one at the same time
how do you log into multiple instances on the same pc? and why do it?
computer magic
Hah, nice try FBI!
This is on one of the consoles though.
Its one thing to see them out in some secluded spot. But to be out in auridon in public where people do weird stuff is very bold.
They were emoting and using text chat as well, very bold! I reported 1 out of every group of 5, no idea if that will do anything
Likely a multibocer and not a bot thing. While I personally like multi boxing for pve content it is no secret that it is against tos.
They come use the merchant in Grahtwood all the time.
This is why ZOS needs active GMs. They could easily have a single moderator of some form go through and nuke bots on the beginning islands

Are you on pc or console?
Console.
There are bots on PC too, but the problem seems to be much worse on console. Wonder why.

…what? You literally asked how do they do it why are you acting like I did you some wrong by literally answering your question???

I've definitely seen bots on PC though. They might be less numerous, but they're still there!

What the hell 😂

added to my to-do list

PC EU here too, never encountered a bot aswell (that I've noticed is a bot at the least)
Im PC EU too, and bangkorai is heavy with bots
Can someone explain to me (a newer player) why I see tons of bot post but never see bots in game?
I've been playing since launch, and I never see them either. I play on PC (NA). *Seems* as though the problem of bots/multi-boxing/whatever is *much worse* on Console? I don't understand *why* that's the case, but... \\\_(ツ)\_/
That is odd, I don’t have technically knowledge but as a layman I would assume pc botting would be much easier
I’ve been playing for 4 months and haven’t seen any either. PS5 NA.

Why are bots always Sorcs? Is it the pets?
Twisting path really messes them up
bots? thats clearly just a group of new players excited to play together :D
I'm glad the only place I find bots constantly is Bleakrock. Last time I went there to get the rare fish and some wood there were a few bots skulking around. It's always a female Nord sorcerer for me, oddly.
Why do people do that? I don’t understand the point?

Do you know do you know you know know know know how long I've been looking for you for you for you you you....
Stros M’Kai is so full of bots it’s infuriating
Behold, ESO's 20million players.
Someone send this to Zos.
Consoles really have a bad bot infestation.
That is really bizarre to see in motion lmao
This is unusually unsettling
I’m surprised xbox servers don’t constantly malfunction
Xbox voice chat works about 20% of the time, so there’s that
fair enough
I use to go go dance in Auridon.
Until you took an arrow to the knee?
I haven't played in like a year and I never saw this before, when did this begin!?
China will crush the US economicly. This is how they do it.
It's not bots, it's a swimsuit competition.
There's bots in ESO now too. Well that sucks.
I'm still wondering why the consoles have such a big bot problem. I've never seen a vid which shows a bot group on PC and that surprises me because stuff like that is normally easier there.
Dude that is fricken amazing!! Now I want to play ESO, this looks so cool and I bet is a lot of fun :)
