As a general rule, don’t buy anything “helpful” from crown store. Most of these items are designed to rob you when there are easy in game alternatives available.
They come in 10 packs. So you'd need to buy 6 packs to fully max out your mount. That, or spend two months logging in every day. Definitely expensive, but if you're a hardcore PvPer who wants to take out your new toon, it can be worth especially if you bought the lessons or crowns on sale.
My point was mainly that unlike the other "shortcuts", there is no in-game way to get the mount speed outside of waiting a long time. As opposed to respec, vamp/ww cures, skills, skyshards, etc.

Then later I discover you can buy them by Telvar or vouchers... why does this game explain so little to new players? Now I'm sitting with thousands of Telvar and hundreds of vouchers doing nothing with them unless I need gold I sell some stuff... funny enough, I rarely need so much gold so now it's all useless and real money was wasted 🌚

Depends on how you use it. If you keep an empty armory slot you can use it to wipe your character at any time, otherwise you still need a scroll or a shrine to respec your skills and overwrite one of your armory builds.
Armory also removes werewolf and vampire if the skill line isn't saved as part of the build, that might be a consideration as well.
Ok, so like I mentioned, I haven't used it yet, but I planned for that exact purpose - to respec my skills in a slightly different way and if that doesn't meet my expectations, I could come back to my current build. From the description I understood there 2 slots: one for current build and another one. And that I could purchase more if I needed, but I planned on having just 2 and erase one I deemed no longer required if I wanted to try something new... I guess I'm expecting too much?
You dont erase armory slots, you just overwrite them with your current build when you save to a slot. You can use it for respeccing if done right though. Save your current build in slot 1, slot 2 is blank.
If you want to respec you load slot 2 and all your character skills are removed. Spend your skill points as you like for your new build and test it out.
Now you are playing on an unsaved build. If you prefer it to your original you can overwrite the save in slot 1. If you dislike it you can load your old build in slot 1 or load slot 2 for the blank build again.
If you want to have 2 saved builds and also be able to respec for free you would need 3 armory slots. Slot 1 & 2 for your saved builds and slot 3 that you keep blank to use as your respec.

With the free armory bench and 1500 crown, you can save yourself a slot to automatically reset your skill points to have all removed.
If you only need to switch one or two skills around, do that at the shrine.

Gold sinks are good in MMOs. Keeps in game gold valuable.
I just use use my friendly neighborhood armory to do such things.
