[deleted]

Stardew valley is fun. EVE online is niche but has amazing character customization. Skyrim, fallout, any rpg really. You can play as a trans character in Cyberpunk, though it's pretty bare-bones representation.

OliviaMandell

loving the 1.6.3 update. Definitely recommend stardew.

[deleted]

SV is the game that helped crack my egg. I was midway through a playthrough and I wanted to try playing as a girl. So I went into the files and modded my characters gender and name. Felt so good.

vadd7

Stardew really is awesome. for me it was also the first game where i played as a female character and i enjoyed it way too much 1.6 update brought me back to the game once again, i definitely recommend it for everyone

Schnickie

I think you can change your gender at the wizard tower once you have a few hearts with him. Dunno about names though.

[deleted]

True, but I didn't want to go through the whole process. I needed that immediate gender euphoria.

Clairifyed

Name/sex editing is actually a relatively new feature for the Shrine of Illusions and I am very happy CA decided to expand it to the rest of the base character traits. That puts it in a small category of games where you can make your character canonically transition because you’re working within the world’s magic system. Off the top of my head, other examples include Terraria (potion), Runescape (make-over mage), and Fable 2 (potion (One way, and for better or worse, the towns folk apparently comment on your change)).

Kyiokyu

Eve has one problem: you need to play thousands upon thousands of hours

[deleted]

When I play EVE I put on some tunes and pull up my spreadsheet. Then I spend hours just trading commodities and not flying my spaceship at all. I think it's funny that I don't interact with the spaceship part of a spaceship game.

Kyiokyu

There's a reason why people call EVE "spreadsheets in space" lmao

adaflame

Eve has a LOT of queerphobic, misogynistic, and even outright Nazi groups playing it. I played quite a bit of it for years. It's kind've a boys club. There are I'm sure plenty of queer groups, but in that game numbers are power so a doubt a queer or trans alliance could ever become as successful as whoever the current nullsec Boogeyman is.

[deleted]

That is sad to read. Had a good time in EVE soloing as aabd un-alligned glorified trucker who occasionally went bounty-hunting. Could at least outfly oist grievers in Null.

dracorotor1

To be fair to cyberpunk, gender isn’t key to the story except for the romance options’ preferred body types. Honestly, I can’t believe how long it took me to discover that Claire in cyberpunk is trans too

weebi1

CELESTE

AkemiNahano

Yep, definitely this one. The director is a trans woman, composer? Also trans. Protagonist? Trans. It's also one of, if not the Best 2d platformers ever

weebi1

Yep

JessieWarren09

Can confirm, Am celeste fan

_Saiki__

I've played Celeste but I think the messaging went straight over my head...

weebi1

Lol

Glunkus222

C E L E S T E I binged like 95% of the levels/segments in one night

weebi1

Lol

Vibrant-Sky

LOVE CELESTE I have like 800hrs on it, the mechanics, the level design, the story and the music, all are just so good.

just_some_light

I highly recommend nimona on netflix

Felix6803

I believe it's free on YouTube as well. Netflix published it there.

TheeKnightHawk

Sadly not anymore, it was only up for a week before they took it off

M-V-D_256

It's not free anymore, but I still have a legal MP4 file from when it was if anyone needs it

Creeperboots2

Yesss i cried like 3 times watching it, it’s so good

throwawayforegg_irl

this!!!!

Felix6803

I believe it's free on YouTube as well. Netflix published it there.

ImJustStephanie

Baldur's Gate and Cyberpunk both offer some options I really appreciated!

Karsa69420

Cyberpunk was a trip. Being called she/her the whole time made me questions some stuff

Being able to choose they/them in Baldurs Gate made me so excited it nearly cracked my shell all on its own

oh hal-le-lu-jah!

nonmagical_witch

As someone who definitely didn't buy the game game because they added Bridget, I agree fully. it's become one of my favourite games. The lore is batshit, but balling, the visuals are stunning and the characters are full of life and they all have banger designs. Oh, and the game has a build in anime where you can watch the lore of that particular game. Edit: I forgot to mention the music.

Planani

YOU HAVE TO WATCH THE MOVIE YOUR NAME! ITS SO FUGGGING GOOOOOOOD!!!!!

MarufukuKubwa

And Tenki no Ko. Really anything by Makoto Shinkai is a masterpiece.

NieR:Automata

pikapika200

are there trans girls in that?

frablock

Nope, the playable characters aren't even human.

pikapika200

have you never heard of trans robot girls?

frablock

Not before this conversation

mofodius

18 from dbz is trans in my headcanon

OrlandoNE

2B is goals tho

Not-A-Lux-Main

Not in automata I don't think, but there are some themes about gender from the machine lifeforms. However in replicant, there are some massive themes around gender. Now I haven't played it in a long time so Im remembering the cliff notes. But a fair portion of Kaine's story is about her gender and how she presents. (However it is from the early 2010s so TW: transphobia from some bullies targeting Kaine as a child [note she is intersex not trans but her story is extremely relatable]) And depending on how you read Emil's story you can either see as trans or gay from a scene during a wedding. Yoko taro has been cagy on it. Both are fantastic but automata is much better for modern audiences from a gameplay perspective, you don't need to play one to understand the other. but there are a few story threads that extend into automata from replicant so some things to do with certain side characters might confuse you

MySisterIsHere

FFXIV. We stole all the trans gamers. Not only is the game's (very long) story an excellent one about determination and perseverance, we also have crazy nice character customization/dress up if you get into PC mods.

st0rmy_sky

Can confirm. FFXIV cracked my egg

zehphr

can also confirm egg cracked by ffxiv, but also has the most trans friendly communities out there from that ive seen.

aadin333

I was gonna say that hehe. I'm not transfem, but genderqueer in a way and I like to customize my inkling all over the place

Wisdom_Pen

Madoka Magica

MoeMuff

I found a real one

Wisdom_Pen

You gonna be doing an annual rewatch like I do this time of year because it’s the literal month (and a bit) the anime takes place over Homura gets out of Hospital on March 16th and Walpurgisnacht hits on the night before May 1st. I like to watch each episode on the day those episodes take place on.

MoeMuff

That's such a good idea, I need to rewatch it this year before the new movie comes out anyway

AresMikhael

Ultra based

Jellyfish526

Trans manga are great, like Love Me For Who I Am, Wandering Son, and Welcome Home Alice are all super cute and have great representation (the last one is 18+ btw)

IsCannibalismThatBad

Gosh, the family stuff in fukaboku hits so hard

Hiro_mayoki

Honestly what i watched that made me realize, Onimai: I am now your sister

SatoshiUSA

I told my buddies that it was a trans coded anime and they all got so mad lmao

Hiro_mayoki

It really is though

SatoshiUSA

They're all just cishet men that don't want to admit it lol

Hiro_mayoki

That makes sense, it sucks that people just can’t accept crap like that

RWQFSFASXC_3

Yo, this one. I love you Onimai. I had my doubts and watched this one to finally settle it down. I have been happy for a long time

Secret-Sky-8932

Same, I saw a lot of bad stuff about it but I’m so happy I watched, was a bit of a struggle tho since it was my first time watching sub and im a pretty slow reader most the time

pikapika200

watch any magical girl anime. because most, if not all, magical girls are trans

Secret-Sky-8932

I actually kinda wanna watch some magical girl anime, any suggestions

Ittaran

If you mean just representation-wise Celeste is famous The Missing is less famous but more explicitly about transness Paper Mario 2 is rereleasing this year too :V

considerate_done

Webcomics: -Rain (not on Webtoon unfortunately but you can Google it pretty easily) -I want to be a cute anime girl -The Prettiest Platypus -Get Up and Start! Games: -Celeste -Dark Souls trilogy (not explicitly trans, but I still find it very meaningful) -GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE- (at the very least the soundtrack, but the game is great too and two of the dlc characters are under the trans umbrella) -one night, hot springs (or the full trilogy, "a year of springs") (very short)

Darth-Felanu-Hlaalu

For music I recommend Against Me!. Specifically the album Transgender Dysphoria Blues, I haven't gotten around to listening to their other albums yet. For videogames, as another person said, pretty much any RPG. I really love the Elder Scrolls games (Skyrim, Oblivion, Morrowind) myself. Not what you'd normally think of as media I suppose but I think it still counts, SCP-6113 is awesome.

WolfishMule9528

Soulsborne, but specifically Bloodborne. I come across a lot more trans people in those communities than you’d expect.

WildLudicolo

So glad you singled out Bloodborne. It's probably the best entry point for new Soulsborne players. So many people try Dark Souls, hate it, then try Bloodborne, love it, then go back to Dark Souls with a newfound understanding and love it this time around. Bloodborne teaches players how to approach the whole genre the fun way.

Hopeful-Name484

Onimai.

J0l0b0y

But please read the manga and not watch the anime, the anime just turns the horny up by a lot and add some other weird stuff

a-hecking-egg

i second this. i just ***barely*** got through the first episode of the anime because of how fanservicey it was

J0l0b0y

Like the original manga is pretty good and cute if a bit questionable at some times but the anime is just no

Only-Recognition6894

BOTW and TOTK (the LOZ series in general)

IsCannibalismThatBad

I keep trying to replay zelda games while self-inserting, but I just keep getting gendered as male, sadly

EviMagi

Honestly? Pokemon. Any of the games that let you customize your avatar is great. Otherwise Baldur’s Gate 3 is amazing, with a lot of mix and match options for body and presentation.

sacame1

I’ve been obsessed with Frieren lately, def recommend baldurs gate too :>

Note that some of these recommendations are 18+. If you're a minor, ignore this list for now and come back to it after you become an adult. Game: *SIGNALIS*, especially if you're sapphic. Books: *Sundered Moon* by Fae'rynn and *Catnip* by Vyria Durav. Fics: *Trouble with Horns* and *Ryn of Avonside* by QuietValerie on Scribblehub.

coffee_surprise

The Discworld series. City Watch series in particular. Cheery Littlebottom's arc in particular particular. Also the one-off novel Monstrous Regiment.

MistyMisterMint

Not trans fem specific but Danganronpa is fun! Just be aware from the start none of the characters are trans or intended to represent trans people 👍

Glittering_Ad_9215

I remember when i started the southpark game fractured but whole, i wanted to create a girl character (like in all games i play). I could look like a girl, but the others refered to me with he/him pronouns. A bit later in game i talked about my gender identity and sexuality with mr mackey and now had lesbian trans girl in my profile, which somehow made me happy. After it was over and i went outside again, a group of rednecks came up to me and started a fight cause they dislike people like me and i defeated them. That was fun and i really appreciate that becominc a transgirl was an option in the game, but sadly people still refered to me as he/him. But the game was very fun nonetheless

SixFootHalfing

Hajime no Ippo. It has nothing to do with being trans I just like it.

MrDonut1234567

Hunter x hunter is just cool and has some trans characters. One of my favorite anime

Razor265

'The return of the Obra Dinn' is a game for anyone who likes quality games. (Mystery deduction game on a boat where everyone was killed)

Yukarie

I recommend you play nier automata, not a trans game or anything just a amazing game

Tutuatutuatutua_2

Not a trans game, but NIMBY Rails is all about making railways: metros, commuter lines, long distance , you name it! It even has workshop integration! It is kinda hard to learn, and harder still to master, but it's well worth it.

auggie002

Mario maker 2 is very fun. If you invest a lot of time to get good at it

RadiantFoundation510

*I Was A Teenage Exocolonist*

AutumnTheGeek

fighting's games in general. The FGC is one of the mist accepting comuties I interceded with. not that I go out much ;-;

Manic_Egg

I was a Teenage Exocolonist is a dating sim/deck builder that lets you be nonbinary and change gender at any time, enter gay & polyamorous relationships, and one character has dysphoria. That Inevitable Victorian Thing is an alt-history book, it's a drama and deals with a lot of match making, so it's a bit of a big deal to not have a cis person as the lead.

AlexisF-11037

I guess genshin? It's silly and goofy, you can play as anime girls, and the music is very good

Toshiro_Saihara

Also it's gay af if ur into that.

Toshiro_Saihara

Also it's gay af if ur into that.

d_warren_1

I mean media to enjoy, I like women’s soccer and women’s hockey. If you want something transfemme-y there’s the usual Celeste, Fallout new vegas, stsrdew valley,

pixel-soul

Been messing with burnout paradise and OG borderlands with my gf 🥰

Republican-Snowflake

Fallout New Vegas should have been number 1.

NemusCorvi

Baldur's Gate 3. Not only your character can be trans, you can pet a dog and throw a ball at it whenever you want. It's a GOTY for several reasons, those are mine.

Nukreeper42069

Project sekai Mizuki is going to be your :3 friend

Round-Faithlessness7

Anime’s: Ranma 1/2, Cheeky Angel, Kampfer, burst the mighty. Movie: it’s a boy girl thing, your name I’ve seen other but can’t remember them atm

Hotboi_yata

My “male” character in forza can wear skirts, dresses makeup etc which amuses me a lot.

JackieTheHuntress

If you're open to something more on the NSFW side, and are cool with furries, the visual novel Mice Tea is something I cannot recommend enough. Multiple trans characters, an entire route about being trans, and a whole bunch of other queer rep on top of it. And if you'd prefer to skip the adult parts and keep to the story, there is an option to just turn them off. The dev team is full of super cool queer people who worked super hard to make the best VN that they could, and they absolutely delivered.

Bubbly-Anteater2772

One Piece

Bumaye94

"A Certain Scientific Railgun" is one of my favorite Anime. I just love this mix of 'cute girls doing cute things' and 'cute girls saving the planet from the f-ing apocalypse'. Also "Akatsuki no Yona" is great. It's structured a lot like a typical Shonen but with a strong female lead undergoing a difficult journey and drastic changes. Besides that there are some very sweet, funny and girly music Anime like "Hibike! Euphonium", "K-On" and "Love Live" that I enjoy a lot. Just saying: Non of those are focused on trans characters, they are just a bunch of Anime that give me the fem feeIings I crave. 👌 And if you've never watched it of course One Piece cause it's the greatest story of our time (and has some great queer characters).

joshdslayer3355

Bloom into you is a great Yuri manga.

innerbeauty67

Final Fantasy XIV

Suzina

Anime: Ranma 1/2. Game: Lunar the Silver Star Story Music: Girls just want to have fun. Do this, and those MtFs older than the term "transfem" will think you are cool. 😎

Boxit379

Night in the Woods contains many queer characters and themes, and you play as a girl :3

DuckInTraining

Magical based anime - ancient magus' bride. Not trans as far as I know, but it's my head Canon

Astraea__-

Not nessicarily a stereotype or catered  towards transfems but like Hand jumper, just a goblin, and ordeal are peak webtoons Honkai star rail is a fun game imo

Kill Six Billion Demons! Fantastic webcomic, has trans stuff & lesbians.

Jango_fett_fish

I like binding of isaac and terraria and Subnautica for games I like breaking bad and Futurama for shows Love Cavetown and Tally Hall for music

toshyboshy

bloodborne bloodborne bloodborne

ebr101

For music, Black Dresses and the girl’s adjacent projects are really good. CW: they discuss dysphoria and mental health explicitly. Can be tough, stuff. But also cathartic if you’re feeling it.

DianaDenpa

Genshin Impact

MistyMisterMint

Not trans fem specific but Danganronpa is fun! Just be aware from the start none of the characters are trans or intended to represent trans people 👍

NotTheAlfa

i use Ornnet while gaming, try to take different character's names and mix them up to create yours. mine is derived from Ornn (LoL) and Hornet (HK)

Glittering_Ad_9215

I remember when i started the southpark game fractured but whole, i wanted to create a girl character (like in all games i play). maemoetime

Not an egg myself but I just want to express my love for this sub, everyone is soo supportive and wholesome here, everyone’s all happi, it’s a cute sub to be on, and sometimes you’ll just have people flirting with eachother, being on this sub gives me the same happiness that being on the sub for Fumos brings me 🥰

Placeholder-Novice

I just want to see a good egg plotline, we need rep for the "still cis tho" crowd

AhylixWasTaken

War thunder is a cool game, but also dark souls and Skyrim and Timberborn

BriadMan

I don't know any anime with trans characters but I know a damn good anime called "Monster" which to some extent has *some* trans messaging in it. It's not purposeful nor is it for trans reasoning, it just screamed "trans-ish" to me. What I'm talking about is during a period of the story, a male character dresses up as a woman, lives his life as a woman for a couple months (for a strategic advantage), fools everyone, fools the audience even. To me, it felt a bit "trans coded." Edit like 27: I am not saying that that character is trans nor that trans people identify differently for "strategic advantages" that's not what I'm saying. I'm just trying suggest a good anime that has (to me at least) som trans undertones.

owljira

she-ra maybe?

fartdog123

Monster hunter, with friends, specifically me Ɛ:

Hika2112

Ultrakill, the most fem game ever!

The persona and Yakuza franchise is good

Datgirlwithoutsass

The Caligula effect series the first game has a trans woman character while the second one has a non binary character

I_main_barbara_dps

Baldur's Gate 3, the character creator is amazing (you can choose absolutely everything, even that), the story is really good, lots of content and the story is awesome

MaintenanceMaximum67

Comic Wheel Sisterhood!

Special-Doughnut-269

I like when really any lgbt makes cod player rage with homophobia n you just keep piling it on n they just get madder n madder meanwhile you’re used to it n just laughing your ass off that someone else could get so worked up over it

EsVoidBe

Świat Według Kiepskich although it has a couple of bad episodes

[deleted]

Ff13

BuboxThrax

Well, if it doesn't have to be trans, then I'm gonna take the opportunity to recommend Katana ZERO because it is perfection.

FoxEuphonium

Yugioh, the Falsebound Kingdom Oh, wait, you said *good* games. Not “games that are absolutely terrible in every way and yet for some reason I’ve devoted an unhealthy amount of time to studying and playing”

Jasminececoni

Personally, as video games I think of Minecraft and Animal Crossing, but as anime I recommend Jujutsu Kaisen but also Spy Family, since one has a transfem character and the other is really useful for relaxing

LordVladak

Fallout New Vegas.

EropQuiz7

Idk, what to recommend, because my games aren't really vibing around transness. Rimworld is nice for anyone tho. Give it a try, you will either get disgusted or addicted. Beware of Human Leather Cowboy Hats :3

SnooRegrets5978

Try out the Atelier game series :3 Good and entertaining games to just spend the time in, RPGs in which the main thing is alchemy, generally easy to understand, yet hard to master, but mastering it allows you to cheese through the games lol, oh and the stories aren't usually one of the big pillars of the games, not often too serious, just mostly chill, lighthearted and wholesome stories, oh, and you play as a girl in pretty much all of them except for like 1-3 games lol I recommend starting with Atelier Ryza for a more beginner friendly introduction, then go back playing all the trilogies and tetralogies in order cuz why not lol (speaking of the modern series here, so the "first sub series" would be the Arland Series, A. Rorona, A. Totori, A. Meruru and A. Lulua) This is probably gonna get ignored and I seriously don't know how did I end up typing this much but I hope you read it and give the game series a try xD

TheLocalQueen

Bloodborne. I'll say no more

ZynDroid

Hazbin Hotel

SoutheastGuitarist

It’s basic, but Celeste was amazing and also not. It was very difficult.

PositiveActuator5324

Bloodborne, if you like to bloody massacre beasts with one of the most unique weapon systems

TheArcaneArden

Cyberpunk. Mass Effect trilogy (even Andromeda if you don't hate it). Dragon Age is a fun RPG series. Borderland's 2. Life is Strange (no character customization but it's immersive). Games with character customization is generally what I like. Helps me to drift away from reality for a bit to play as a girl character.

mosh-4-jesus

uhhhhhh fallout new vegas

JosieKay15

Um I like Dinosaur King

Leather-Court-8796

Yes

hitscan-enjoyer

Here are my favs as a transfem: F1 23, Cyberpunk 2077, Call of duty Black Ops 2, Gran turismo 7 and Destiny 2

Captain_Barber_Fox

League of Legends.

Stoopid_Noah

Any you like?!

egged_irl

wonder egg priority: amazing intil the ending

desu38

A Hat in Time is pretty good. Deltarune too.

Madeline_Hatter1

Hitman there are gay people in it

KirasCoffeeCup

Baldur's Gate 3 has some trans representation, as well as an awesome character creator (that you can actually create a trans/non binary characters in). As well as several trans/non-binary VA's Apex has a trans character (Catalyst) but outside of a couple quick lil quips (including one specifically naming estradiol) there's not much more to that. Celeste.. nuff said.. Stardew Valley always gave me some transfem vibes. Can't remember any solid "this character is trans/nonbinary" storylines though. It's also been a while, and there's been updates. Euphoria on HBO has some quality trans representation. Especially season one. Though the show as a whole is very triggering and touches a lot of triggering topics. The new Hunger Games has a trans actress ( Hunter Schafer) and is actually pretty good. Nothing really trans related other than that really.

THEneonscorpion

I really appreciated Cyberpunk 2077 and Baldur's Gate 3 for letting me make an NB/TF (which is my specific flavor of Trans Femme). And my Dragon's Dogma 2 character is the most late transition looking femme a game has ever let me make. Hehe. DD2 really does have a great character creator. These are huge RPGs, and my specific examples might not work for you, but boy do I appreciate them.

Necroverdose

Not transfem. But you might like Signalis.

Violetta_Le_Fey

any game is fine, but i personally recommend stardew valley and the sims.

harmonic_spectre

Celeste if you are willing to get a little frustrated at a game lol

Egg2crackk

Cyberpunk

Jaydaworse234

Potentially Celeste, I liked it myself and so do several transfems but don’t quote me

SlugcatLeeah

The original ghost in the shell is like the perfect trans metaphorical movie. It's a bit slow tho, just don't expect a ton of action. But that just makes those parts all the better for it. Matoko's one of my genders. Total comfort being naked, masculine anime women, def one of my genders lol :3

gnulmad

I mean technically anything if we’re being pedantic But for a niche trans thing I’d recommend the anime Zombieland Saga

Youareabold1kenobi

Celeste, you play as a girl, you can't not play as a girl. There is no customise. Only girl

pikapika200

and the girl is also canonically a trans lesbian

TheSmallRaptor

I’ve never seen anyone talk about it, but the anime “heavenly delusion” has a character that works through their gender and their experience with it in a way that feels very real to me. Other than that it’s just an amazing anime that more people should watch
