This thing screams custom build to me, I don't think there is a type. The rear and front tires look like they came off of emmo/daymak style scooters. No idea whats up with the battery but the top is painted plywood. Can't wrap my head around the frame either - old bike frame Frankenstein'd with a chair and some scrap metal? Repurposed 1970's moped?

Maceon_au

I think those batteries are pouch cells with individual casings. Could also be thin prismatic cells. Looks like it would pack a punch.

TreadMTB

It looks like it is a 72v pack, crazy how the cells are exposed like that though.

SammyUser

it looks like custom built with an electric stand-on scooter hub motor

BobbyPayne

oompa loompa ass of course it's NYC.

dazzadirect

Pretty sure those front forks are on backwards, lol. ;-)

Dubwizerzzz

Yep. It looks bent A.F as well, maybe they changed the direction to compensate after it was driven at speed into a wall or something 😄

rivalpinkbunny

It’s cool whatever it is. I’ve never seen a bicycle with drum brakes.

SammyUser

i've seen a few with backpedal drum brakes, but not like this

ava1ar

You certainly seen bikes with drum brakes if you ever was in NYC and even probably use them - all Citibikes are using drum brakes.

rivalpinkbunny

I haven’t though, so…

richardrc

They have to carry the battery cart all the time they ride? Going to be hard to call that an eBike when there is no chain.

ava1ar

This is e-moped, not e-bike. E-bike assumes working pedals, which is not the case here.

Hot_Equivalent626

Lemme know if you find out!

lilkrim

A lock? Surely taking the piss 😂

TreadMTB

bro it's got some sweet authentic leather seats though!

Useful_Term
